We ordered a high end fridge with plans for delivery by this week. Delivery estimate has been delayed. The sales rep doesn’t have the decency to contact us directly as promised. The delivery service contacts about the 3 week delay. Now we are scrambling to figure out what to do for Thanksgiving. Have been disappointed with the level of service from the start. Attempts to contact sales manager to give feedback are blocked by the sales people on the phones. Resorted to writing a review.

This review comes after a series of disappointments with Atherton Appliance and Kitchens.Overall, they were great at selling us high-end appliances but their installation had severe flaws and their support was non-existentWe ordered a total of $35k worth of equipment, which was installed two years ago. During this time, we had several problems with our Miele fridge and freezer in particular.Some pieces fell apart, others felt very flimsy. AAK installers used blue tape to hold pieces together under the panels, didnt install the drawers properly and overall left the job half done.Very quickly we realized the problems. We contacted Mike Placido at AAK several times and the only answer was Mieles phone number. They completely washed their hands off these problems - even a few months after the installation.We escalated the problem when we discovered the blue tape. We started wondering if AAK hadnt sold us a used unit. Were still wondering btw. Mike sent a crew which confirmed that we were missing parts. They were going to contact us again once they receive them. 3 months later, I ping Mike and his answer is: call Miele, heres their phone number.Were now left with a $13k fridge / freezer that has missing pieces.Their showroom is nice, their quote are certainly fast and complete. Their customer service though leaves a lot to desire.

After visiting the other major appliance retailers in the south bay, Atherton Appliance was a retreat into low-pressure sanity. In this store, the appliances worked, and that makes shopping easier because you have a good idea of what it would be like in your home.Additionally, the conscientiousness that Chris gave to the order was impressive. Polite conversation filled with information was the experience that he gave, with knowledgeable details about how things would work together. When the order needed a last-minute change, it proceeded without a problem.Shopping at Atherton was a real treat.

Purchased a new BLUESTAR double oven, installed in June 2019. Both ovens now not working due to defective fans. We’ve been without an oven since Dec 30, 2019. It’s now February 2, 2020. We’ve been crockpotting and doing stovetop but the lack of empathy from Atherton Appliance as week as BLUESTAR is unacceptable. The last month has been constant emails back and forth with BLUESTAR direct and Atherton Appliance. Nothing!!!! Fed up to say the least. We are repeat customers at Atherton Appliance and obviously spending thousands of dollarsMeans nothing to them

We bought our sub-zero from this place and thought their service was excellent. The owner Tom also helped us secure $1800+ in rebates that other dealers were not able to help with. Plus this place also had recommendations for a carpenter that helped us modify our cabinets. I would definitely do business with them in the future.

Normally I would give them high marks, but the sales person would not allow me to even purchase an extended warranty on a Subzero fridge, which Subzero even said I could purchase, but it had to be through Atherton appliance. So now I would urge caution when buying through them. The sales people are just about selling more units and not customer service.

Showroom staff was very knowledgeable. Pre site inspection went off without a hitch. I cant give five stars for two reasons. My follow up email regarding also replacing a microwave was not responded to in a timely manner - not until it was too late to bundle the installation. Also, the install team had hit major complications at their previous install, causing them to arrive a half hour after their designated window. Once on site they did an amazing job and were complete professionals - five stars for the guys.

Beautiful showroom and expert help, but prices very similar to Best Buy for those items they both carry. Atherton Appliance has very high end products that other local places do not sell.

I have written only a handful of reviews in my life. When either the service was so extraordinary that it necessitated acknowledgement and when the service is so horrific that others must be made aware. Unfortunately, this falls into the latter category.Our initial experience with Atherton Appliance was fantastic. The show room is absolutely beautiful. The staff who assisted us was equally wonderful. They were knowledgable and helpful in comparing products without being pushy.We subsequently purchased over $35,000 in kitchen and other appliances for an extensive remodel. We were and are thrilled with our purchases. Unfortunately, there needs to be service after the sale. We choose to have Atherton Appliance do the installation because it added a year to the warranty. This is where the story becomes an incredible nightmare. Trying to get them to schedule and work with us on the instillation was insane. We purchased the products in June and planned installation for October.They could not work with our contractor to coordinate. They would NOT RETURN CALLS. They attempted to delay installation by over 2 weeks despite multiple calls. Our contractor ultimately picked up the appliances and did the installation to keep the project on time.We paid Atherton over $2,500 for instillation in advance to install all of the purchased appliances. The contractor performed the instillation in late October. We have been trying to get a refund on the $2,500 in instillation charges paid up front and to date been unsuccessful. Calls are not returned. Managements attempts to discuss have been untimely, rude and unsuccessful.This is NOT THE LEVEL OF SERVICE one expects from a high end luxury applaince retailer.I continue to be shocked by their response and lack of interest in resolution. We, our contractor, our remodeling friends, nor anyone with expectations of quality service should consider purchasing their appliances through them. There any several other quality retailers in the Bay Area.Sincerely,Doug H

Talk to raul about getting a hood as we needed it within a certain timeframe. Raul was more than happy to promise a delivery timeframe and sell us a hood. We didnt negotiate price, just wanted assurances on a delivery date as we needed it for inspection. We had assurances from him that it would be delivered in 2 weeks, latest 3 weeks. Well guess what its been 3.5 weeks and they have been ignoring my phone calls and blowing me off. They are more than happy to take your money but when it comes time to deliver on their promises, they are somehow nowhere to be found. If you care about customer service and getting your product then you might want to consider taking your money somewhere else.

It is not the products they carry, the bad service most of their sales people and they hire all rejects from other stores, look and ask who they have serving their customers,WOWAnd not telling the truth to their customers about restricted prices ( UMRP) AND WAY MORE be careful, they just list a great customer over $22000.00 deal to a dealers not far away from then
