A decent spot for a drink and a bite to eat on the seafront. Plenty of seating upstairs and downstairs with heaters throughout the venue. Theres a range of different street food restaurants including burgers, pizza, BBQ and Mexican with an easy order and collect process via the w8r app. Theres bars upstairs and downstairs serving a range of draft, spirits, cocktails and soft drinks for those just wanting a drink. Live music was playing during the evening I visited, with the singers covering a variety of popular songs while playing the piano.
What can I say this is great. It is a load of old cargo shipping containers made into a public space looks great, the atmosphere was fantastic, as was the love music.Its half open for hot weather with umbrellas at the front in case of rain, nice touch.Patio heaters everywhere so you will not get cold.There is approx 8 small resturants that serve every type of food you can imagine and about 5 bars.I cant wait to visit again, I had Dirty Longhorn which was great if you love BBQ.Wife had Healthy Thai which she loved.
Passing on by for work and curiosity got the best of me. What an interesting food cort made of shipping containers! I went to the Greek Acropolis and had the chicken gyros wrap, which although quite pricey @£8, was worth every 0enntand I demolished it!! There was even kids entertainment going on in the centre so cant argue its not kid friendly. Highly recommended!
Brilliant street food place, 3 of us, all got to eat separate types of food but ate together, live music was fab. Only issue, 2 soft drinks £5, pretty expensive but otherwise really good place to eat
Well this was my first time here and we decided upon eating there with out of town friends as the location was great.Theres a good choice of food, which meant everyone got what they wanted.The building itself is really good, there are lots of different areas and we thought at first it was going to be cold but there are a lot of heaters everywhere keeping each table toastie and warm.There was live music being played while we were there and there was a good atmosphere.All in all we all loved it, the younger people of our party enjoyed it as much as the older generation.All in all Ill go back, it was a good eating experience the only downside is that everyone ate from cardboard boxes but hey the food was good inside them so its just a little gripe.
Im sure a younger age group would find it exciting and inviting so my comments are not a true reflection. I imagine many over 60s would find it unsuitable. Its utiliarian for the likes of me.
Great place loved the live music. Its open air but theres heat lamps and plenty undercover space for bad weather. Good selection of eateries to suit the whole family but, like the whole of the north east, needs more healthier options.
We just come to have a look around there is plenty off places to eat and drink and either a band on or a singer. Next time we will stay and have a drink and have something to eat. Its under cover but they have heaters so you wont get cold

I would have given this 5 stars only if the quality of food from all vendors there was of the same standard and their app for ordering food was not so cumbersome. You can only order from one vendor at one time which is not great when there are multiple people in your group who wants to order from different vendors. The venue itself is great with live band and a great ambience.

Great addition to the seafront with an extensive choice of eateries. Friendly and helpful staff. Marked down because the beer choice is pretty poor, surely this sort of venue is crying out for some quality craft beer choices (wylam, Vaux, full circle, northern monk or even Maxim for local flavour would fit a treat)? Also had problems with the app they have brought in for ordering, which also charges a service fee which is disappointing. On my experience I would just use the staff on hand rather than the app. I had to resort to that for half my order in any case as the app kept failing on half the stuff for some reason.That said, we enjoyed our visit and with some minor improvements it could be even better. A welcome addition to Sunderland.
Great atmosphere. Good for families during the day but great for a night out too (weather permitting). Good choice of street food and drinks. Great location on the sea front. Only thing missing was something sweet for dessert.
Lovely service at Yolo Cafe. Small menu. Really enjoyable food and the shakes are well worth the cost! They have delicious coffee ☕ and snacks (flap jacks/crisps/muffins etc)Really recommend a visit. Well certainly be going back.
Went to the Stack in Seaburn last Sunday afternoon 5/9/21 for the first time. absolutely brilliant, loads of bars & different food places to choose from. Live music was great, very family friendly

Had a great day all the staff were very welcoming, very helpful and friendly. The food was excellent and there was a wide variety of places to choose from. From Italian, Greek, Mexican, barbecue food, Thai food, as well as fish and chips, smoothies, bars. Live entertainment on all of the time. You order using a mobile phone app or the mobile waiter staff. Due to the Corona virus there is a check in when you arrive and the waiters take you to your seat and then your food and all drinks get brought over to you all free of charge. The Stack is a much needed venue for Sunderland and the sea front. It will be even better when the new hotel next-door opens its doors soon. All well worth a visit and great to eat out for all of the family even your dogs. 10/10 BRILLIANT VENUE, GREAT FOOD AND VALUE FOR MONEY.KEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK FOR ALL OF THE STAFF SECURITY, BAR, CHEFS AND ALL THE WAITING STAFF.

Lovely place to eat and drink and generally pass a few hours. The staff couldnt be more helpful, the app to order is easy to use. Like the food courts we knew and loved in the 90s but this time with a bit of class and plenty of cocktails.Theres some kind of entertainment on most of the time. A singer, a quiz, bingo, DJ, football on the massive screen. Loads of good patio heaters dotted around and brollies if things take a turn for the damper.Accessibility-wise its one of the best places Ive been to. Pretty level ground downstairs, toilet that stays locked when not in use (and get this - it smells nice. I cant overstate this fact), plenty of space to get back and forth and the type of benches where you can get the front of a wheelchair under the table instead of being stuck a foot away.
Really good place to visit. The man on the entrance was really good and made sure we all scanned the covid log in on our phones before entering. Once inside we were taken to our seats and were told we needed to down load an app, that you use to order your food and drink. You have to pay through the app so you need to have a card registered to the app for payments . The service was very good throught our stay. Even though we ordered from different vendors the meals arrived within 5 minutes of each other, and we enjoyed them all. While we were there a singer called Paige Temperley was singing live and I thought she was excellent .
Friendly staff, lovely food at the chippy & the tables were very clean. Dog and child friendly place which was nice to see. Will visit again.
Visited the Stack in Sunderland today for the first time although the drinks were a little pricey it was well worth it .we had a lovely Greek Gyro and the band that was on were just fantastic .The Indie Project I think the name was. So a great time out we will definitely be back at the Stack if you pardon the pun.

An excellent idea to have a centralised area containing numerous fast food outlets, plenty of seating to enjoy a drink whilst enjoying the live music freely provided. Will definitely go again.
Would come back here. Was nice food bit abit pricey loads of choice just dont know what to get when go here ha. Great if someone wants totally different to you all on same table. Will be back to get something else

This type of venue is just not for me, the day we went was horrendous weather and pouring down, the table we were given was in the driving wind and rain so obviously requested a more sheltered table which was arranged with no problem. However we were then told to download the app to order food and drinks, I did this and every time I got to the point of placing the order the app crashed! After 8 attempts we ended up having to verbally place our order. The food arrived in good time and was simply overpriced snack van produce. I had a £10 plus burrito which was OK. Not recommended and not my type of venue simple as that.

Visited the Stack at Seaburn for the second time yesterday. Had pizza and drinks which were very well priced, and found the place to be very clean and tidy.
Because of the seating arrangement, not very suitable for wheelchair users. Bench tables and bench seats. Upstairs the benches are fastened to the floor so wheelchairs cannot reach tables. Downstairs staff offered to slide bench along. Another option was to move the patio heater from end of table, but because of metal bar on side of table, the wheelchair still couldnt get near the table.Went upstairs in lift, but when coming back down, the lift wouldnt respond to call, so I had to go downstairs and take lift back up to top floor for the wheelchair user to get in.Ordered food and was given a bleeper to notify when food was ready. Unfortunately, because only one bar was open, I was in a long queue, and the bleeper was bleeping a very long time.Must say, disabled toilets are very clean and spacious.

I have been to the stack twice. I choose Greek food the first time and went for thai health food a few days ago. Both times the food was nice and a good price. A must try is the cake shop plenty of choices and good prices.

Excellent from start to finish.The staff were great, attentive with regards to the redemption of our table deposit, showing us how to work the heaters and the app to order. All orders, both food and drinks, were really prompt.I highly recommended the Chicken Gyros from Acropolis 👌They had a fantastic acoustic guitarist and singer on, and a photoboth big enough to fit all 6 of us!Great venue, great service, cant wait to go back!
First visit to the new stack, love the colour and it’s all very nice and new. Table service doesn’t work very well as app isn’t great struggled to put the order through we attempted it three times before it worked ! The 1 pound service charge was also ridiculous given its the current laws ! The staff were friendly however the man who seated us Jack gave us a poor initial table which was completely wind swept, I asked to move however he refused as he had to prioritise the que (but there was no que!) I found him to be rude and unhelpful. Food and drinks were excellent though and one of the other staff members did kindly move us which improved the experience greatly and we had a great time !

Booking was quite difficult and we were restricted to certain days, we booked the Thursday and I thought it was rather quiet, I love live music but again this was not possible for this night however there was a disco and we had a bingo night which I thought was a little strange given the venue, I must add that we were or are living in restrictive times and this had an effect on the evening. The food and drinks were ordered by app and I must say the food was delivered promptly and again this varied depending on the provider, drinks were slow to come but arrived correctly the staff were excellent and the venue quite unusual I gave three however this will change once the restrictions end one final comment the food was hot and reasonably priced the drinks were a little expensive overall we had a good night out and will return to this venue.
Way too expensive for what you get. Had to wait an age to get in when there were only two of us. Staff very much favour their friends especially when in the queue. The groups were etc in well before us. Singer on stage was fabulous though. Improve quality of service and food.
I ate some of the dirtiest Greek chips Ive ever had. Huge helping, very nice, wish Id had the kebab thing though, that looked amazing.

The staff were very friendly however my experience was bad. I wanted to go and order at the food counter as the menu was confusing and food descriptions all the same . I ordered for an online pick up for acropolis and had to stand outside in the freezing cold for 20 min. Drive home after collecting to realize the order was wrong, drove back down to the stack - this time they let me in! I explained to the restaurant and they didn’t take any responsibility and were closing up as they had no food left (at 8.40pm in a Friday night ) . They did make me a new gyro but had no chips or vegetables left so basically kebab and pita…, was horrific will never eat in this restaurant again.

Clean, we got straight in. But, it was very cold upstairs, even with the heater on. Weve also been to stack Newcastle, and York, where I found the staff to be more friendly and more accommodating. food variety and portions are good though.
