Great selection. Helpful and enthusiastic staff. I came in for a particular box of Warhammer, but spent 15 more minutes just checking out all the bits, tools, paints and modeling supplies.
New location. Not as big as the old mountain view store but still enough room to fit ample gaming tables and merchandise. Will definitely be coming here to get model paints.
My first time there Tona showed me around, answered all my questions, and even made some really helpful suggestions about supplies Id need. Theres a lot of gaming tables with cool terrain that are free to use, and the store had a lot of products in stock that seem sold out everywhere else. Overall, I had a great first experience and will return.
A lot of games in stock, good staff, and nice tables to play at.
Theyll have everything for tabletop gaming from board games that you dont see in major box stores to mtg and 40k. They also have events such as commander sundays which I will be attending
No digimon, yugioh or Pokémon tournaments, no real reason to go in unless you like board games and magic
Theres a great selection of hobby products available. The sales staff is very friendly, and knowledgeable about their products. Im very happy with their service, and will happily return again.
Experience completely ruined by a lack of air conditioning and restroom. Great customer service and facility. Uncomfortable to be there for any amount of time because its hotter inside than out and they wont let you use their restroom. Totally unacceptable.
Very nice staff, large selection of games!
Glad to to be back gaming in person. Masked up of course. Join us for Monsterpocalypse or Warmachine and Hordes on Tuesday nights!
Im a magic player so I can speak mostly on that. It was a great drafting environment, tons of room in a huge building. Rounds started on time and the owners seemed friendly. The magic crowd seemed nicer than in other places I’ve been. Very egalitarian prize support. The store has lots of board games and tables with rpgs set up, so something for everyone.
Very clean store with space for gaming, lots of stock, some great discount racks, friendly and helpful. Lots of in-store events, taking advantage of that space!
Its board games. Go get board games. Also, the people there know their stuff; theyve got their own variety of preferences but they can help you find a specific game or genre/style of game pretty well.
Been coming here for a while now they have some really cool stuff. I mostly come for the Star Wars legion expansions but lately I’ve noticed they haven’t been getting any new Bandai model kits for a while, other than that all around great store, the employees are nice and never had any problems with them, definitely recommend them.
Gorgeous store! Friendly helpful staff! Huge selection of board games, war games, card games, hobby and paint supplies, gundam models and RPGs. Great location and play space!
The customer service representative Sam spent the better part of an hour answering questions I had. Super nice staff overall! Thanks Sam! Ill be coming back.
I called in looking for a board game but not with anything specific in mind, and the employee who answered the phone was extremely helpful and gave great recommendations. I came up and picked it up, which was very quick and COVID safe. Really great experience all around!
This is an awesome store! I love the selection of unique board games, everyone is kind, and prices seem comparable to what I’ve seen elsewhere. Love this place! Highly recommend.
Nice new store, associate was very knowledgeable and helpful with the paints and finishes
Great local gaming store, very friendly and helpful employees. It feels like a very inviting space, with a great community! They also have some free board games available that you can pick up and play within the store
Clean, good inventory for its size, kind and helpful staff.
This place has a huge area to play games in, as well as a well stocked set of demo games. Staff is quite knowledgeable about games and willing to help. The game selection is quite varied, but a few key titles were out of stock when I visited. The store is, however, lacking a sign, making it difficult to find. Look for the nail salon and it is next door.
Best game store with an incredible staff
Great store to buy boardgames or cards. They have a huge area with long tables for people to play some of the games they have there to try or to play your own games you bring. It is free to use, although sometimes there are specific events going on, so make sure to check their website or social media. You can contribute to having this great place open by buying your boardgames and supplies here, as well as snacks/drinks they have. The people working here are nice and know a lot about what theyre selling; they have many many types of boardgames for different ages and levels. There is also a lot of parking available in the plaza. The shop is located next to a trader joes.
I went shopping for a white elephant. They have lots of cool games for under $25 for all ages. The staff was super helpful.
This review is geared towards their Magic events. I really enjoyed their Championship events on a quarterly basis. They have good prize support and their team is chill and non intimidating. The store is large and has lots of space. I never felt cramped playing my matches here. I hope they keep running their Limited events. It really provides people a chance to be competitive. The location is also great if you get hungry. Thank you, Team.
Absolutely excellent place to pass the afternoon. They have loads of games, and you can use whatever tables if you bring your own. It’s also free to use...which is absolutely mind-boggling to me.Overall, a great space.
I went there and bought a pokemon tin and received all green code cards and 4 packs instead of through. At first I thought maybe it was my luck but soon found out all were green code cards and got nothing. Wouldn’t shop here again
Awesome place to get together and play boardgames on a regular basis. Toms of space, large tables. Snacks are available. Decent library of games you can check out and try at no cost. Good selection of genes you can purchase. Only thing that would make it better is of they served real food. But we order delivery anyways so I cant complain .
What a great haven for nerdery! Their selection of things like miniatures and related (paint, brushes, etc) is really unmatched! They also carry a considerable number of dice sets and trading cards. They have a curated selection of board games, though still substantial compared to any big box stores. Ive come here a few times for their huge event space-- handy for community sales, drafting, and more.
This game store is huge with lots of tables for game play. They also have a huge game Library where you can borrow games and play them in the store in order to decide if you want to purchase the game for the future. They also have a wide variety of board games and collectible card games to purchase. The staff are friendly and helpful. If you go to the store by yourself and want to play with others you can put up a blue cone at your table to indicate that you would like others to join you in playing a particular game. That atmosphere is very friendly and inviting.
I love this new location since it’s closer to where I live/work.Fresh store opened July 2020 in Redwood City! Same shopping center as Kohl’s and Sports Basement. Previous Game Kastle Mountain View location next to Trader Joe’s, has closed permanently due to inevitable redevelopment across so much of San Antonio Shopping Center.Much smaller store overall. If you remember MV store,1) GKRWC is just 1/2 the retail size (less room for the variety of products offered by GK Online Store.)2) If you want to game in-person at GKRWC once COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, there is really only space for six to eight 6-foot folding tables (A small fraction of MV’s massive table gaming space)Food options walkable if ur here for a game night: Erik’s Deli, L&L Hawaiian, Sizzler, Taco Bell, Apple Bee’s.
Fabulous store for board games. Reasonably priced. Open tables to play and meet people. Can bring your own games and food, and also use some of their games and buy some food to support.
Came here several times for different events and the staff are always helpful. The space is pretty expansive with the actual game kastle shop taking up a small corner on the left. Theres a good amount of product including a pretty wide variety of miniatures.
HUGE space, very well stocked board game selection, brightly colored interior, ample tables and chairs, usually has lots of people playing at any given time so place rarely ever feels dead. I love Game Kastle. Great for family gaming, tournaments, and table top card/mini games.
I normally frequent the location in Santa Clara location but came here to attend a masterclass with the great Aaron Lovejoy. First off, amazing class! they have various classes at this location for Painting and Diorama building. The store is significantly bigger than the SC and Fremont location. More than half the store if full of tables for gaming but there is still a ton of room full of games, miniatures, paint and other supplies. I noticed they had a good amount of paints that re not available at the other two(as far as I know). Overall this is a great store!
Friendly and knowledgeable employees helped me to get set up for a DnD game. The dice I got are good quality, and the book set is really nice too.The prices are generally a bit higher than what you can find online, but Im happy to support a local store.
Amazing place! We have a game night here every Thursday and they have a huge collection to explore. They have a huge public space with tables, you could bring your own games or play theirs. Entry is FREE!
Quality game store with tons of games and so much space! This is really helpful when youd like to play a game and you need a few tables to do so. Spent lots of quality time in the store with friends, and made some new ones also.
Came to sell at the flea market and had a good time. The space is massive so theres a lot of room to play and sell. Only downside was it being a warm day and it got pretty warm inside but otherwise really great. If youve been to the Fremont location its like that... but way, way bigger.
Wonderful helpful staff.
I went with my family and played an escape room. It was so fun!! They have a place for everyone to play games for free. I recommend it if you want to have a cheap family night out or just want to hang out with friends.
Great place to buy and play games. Here, you can bring your own games and food, and play for as long as you want without paying anything. The area is quite huge and usually there are tables available without fail (although I have only been twice, so take it with a grain of salt). The attendants are also helpful.
Carlos was super friendly and welcoming, gave us a brief orientation and introduced us to a few simple games to get started. We had a good time. Enjoyed watching tables of people playing D&D and Magic. Cool place, fun way to spend a slightly rainy Saturday afternoon.
Fantastic store. Very nice staff. Lots of gaming tables and terrain. I will shop here again.
Great local game store!
Super friendly and knowledgable staff. Huge room of table to play with no table fee or time limit
No charge to sit and play. The employees are friendly and very helpful. They all have a genuine love of games and Ive even seen them go so far as to demo games with people before they decided to buy it. (One also went out of his way to play a game I designed with me, which I never would have expected.)
Huge game selection. Nice employees. Plenty of space to play.
An excellent place for all kinds of nerd hobbies! There is a MASSIVE gaming area for people to play with, including board games and terrain pieces for miniature wargaming. Awesome selection of just about everything you could need for any kind of gaming hobby.
Great place to buy board games and also play them! Theres an area where you can bring your own board games and play or you can try the ones in their library. There are also rooms that you can rent to bring your friends to play! The personnel attention is awesome :)
Big selection of board games, miniatures, and role-playing games. If you cant find what youre looking for immediately, chances are someone will be able to order it for you. Also, HUGE open play area for games!
Brand-new store for board games, card games, miniature gaming, and general gaming. Mountain View was really lacking in a quality place to buy and play great games. I met the general manager and hes really nice, and really cares about creating a quality store experience. Tons of space for gaming tables, and looks like they already have a packed schedule for various game nights.
Huge and amazing. lots of tables for people to play games or start sessions. their cone system was fun and the surrounding area is a nerds dream as there are food places close at hand. We didnt bring food back because I thought itd be rude.
A newly started model building group holds its monthly gatherings here. Tons of table room for gamers get. This place is well stocked with items for model dioramas, fantasy figures, paints, books, and as a model builder weathering accessories products.
This is my spot to play magic, both Friday Night Magic, which starts at 6:30pm, and Standard Showdown, which starts at 12pm on Saturdays. Lots of space to play casual too. Friendly staff, solid core group of players, and a good array of standard product and sleeves. Plenty of parking and clean bathrooms.
This place has a huge gaming space, for so many different types of tabletop fun. They have a fully stocked shop and great service. There are also plenty of snacks and drinks for sale too!
Large selection and knowledgeable staff. There are also a number of games available to play free in the store. Price is often 5-10 dollars more expensive than at the big box stores, but worth it to support local business
Great place to play any kind of board game. The employees are awesome people whonare really helpful with anything geek related. Its a geeks heaven.
Have great play area. Very well stock in game.it is full msrp
Enormous space to play test board games from their amazing free library. Super-friendly and helpful staff!
So many tables! This is a little farther for us to get to, but worth the drive for all of the table availability. Game Kastle is such a fantastic store with the best selection and the most helpful staff.
Service here is fantastic! Staff walked us through everything wed need to get started with Pokemon cards and have been super friendly and helpful every time weve been back!
Great local game spot - huge area for playing and a smaller retail area thats fenced in. Good support for weekly meetups and hosting tournaments
All I can say is that this is a gamers game store. All kinds of RPG and similar, plus enormous area for friendly play. You can buy stuff, or just go and find gamers and join the game. Or bring your friends, and set up on one of the tables. It is run by genuine enthusiasts and they really want people to enjoy gaming.
Very big game store with tons of free table space. Several different events going on every day. They offer a discount if you preorder games with them.
I take my kids here, and their friends, and they all request we return. We love playing games from the free board game library.
This game shop has all the gaming space you could ever dream of, very knowledgeable staff and an absolutely huge stock of games. Check out their online calendar to see the massive amount of events that happen here on the weekly.
Really fun place to hang out, they have a wide variety of games and host some fun events like Magic The Gathering and Smash Bros.
Game kastle is probably the best stocked game store Ive been to. There is a great selection board games, tabletop games, and rulebooks. There is also a huge gaming space with plenty of weekly events to join. I like the availability of open board games to play in store.
Unbelievable place. Amazing gaming tables. Super chill. Great staff . Great game collection!
Superb game store with a massive free gaming space. Prices are whatever, but their selection is great and you should support them anyway!!
An excellent place for board games, tcgs, amd warhammer. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Lots of room, and a large boardgame library you can try for free.
Great laid back place to try out games.
Very helpful staff
Friendly staff, expansive stock, lots of space to game, fans+space provide good cooling. Healthier snacks would be nice but arent worth knocking a star.
Great selection and fun to bring your own games to play (or try their game library!)
Amazing board game selection and take space. Close access to ECR, bus, and train. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Never have I felt rushed or put upon by staff.
Air con is permanently broken. Store employees said they half fixed it and then it broke again... aka. the store employee said that, the one fixed unit blew out again b/c it was overloaded doing the job of 2 units for the entire place since they didnt fix both and now the store owner just gave up on it and they had to go all summer long w/o A.C. and it was awful. Would have been nice to know prior to committing to play at their MCQ and traveling from across the U.S. I wouldnt have bothered had I known... 140+ nerds from the tournament plus all the randoms taking up store space sitting in front of the fans to play boardgames or D&D or Warhammer or something was really awful because of body heat.. Maybe it is a fine place for the regulars, but unqualified and unprofessional for large tournaments. Also, the MCQ didnt begin until like 10:22, which was 22 mins past the scheduled start time and the judges and employees were really slow at moving things along and getting stuff together, even between rounds.
Very big. Good for a game night.
Love the board game library here. Good collection of games for purchase too
Huge game space. Weekly tournaments and demos. Awesome store.
Was recently here for a Magic the Gathering release event. Had a great time and will be definitely be coming back! Same high quality location and service like the other two Bay Area Game Kastles!
Love it. I go here with my little kids. We get to try out games from their library, bring in lunch, and if the kids like the game, we can get it from the shop on our way out. Friendly staff and there’re always free tables during the day.
Great assortment of games! Games are available for play - testing and lots of tables for bringing and playing your own!
Lots of gaming tables (over 60% of the store) Good selection of games and accessories.
Great place to hang out and game. Staff are knowledgeable and the community is welcoming
Best one around!!!! Go back every week! Looking forward to Monday Paint night!
Great local game store. Deceptively large on the inside. Staff is friendly. They have a large selection of board games as a library you can choose from and play in the store in case you wanted to try something out before buying it. Nearly every time I go there is some sort of event going on - magic, Yu-Gi-Oh, Warhammer 40k, DND, etc. I always try to buy from them instead of online because the prices are comparable and Id like to support a place like this existing. Their presence and library has helped me to discover great new board games.
Brought nephew here. 5,000 sf of fun. Large hobby game inventory. Very vibrant gaming community here.
Very good selection of games. Lots of tables for playing board games, even during Friday Night Magic.
Huge open space with a very high ceiling for gaming of all sorts. Incredible staff and games selection is extensive
Card games and several other things. Huge selection of board games. I go here for magic the gathering and Pokemon TCG.
They seem to have a great selection of games and plenty of room for open gaming Friendly people inside playing games
