Went there for shoes. They have good shoes at great prices. Employees were nice and helpful.

Came in to purchase this tent. Obviously they havent updated their hours. Very disappointed! 4 other people tried to come in at the time I was there. If you changed your hours, why dont you update it here and save people the aggravation?!?

Went in to buy work boots. Asked the salesgirl ( half brown and half blond hair) if they had these boots in my size. She went to the back and she came back said they only order size 7 and above. I asked her about a another boot she said oh that is the same, only order 7 and above. She was very short with me. Her tone of her voice said everything. She really didnt want to help me. So went to talk to manager if he could order me my size. I called him back he told me same as salesgirl. I called corporate office. I wanted to order from online. The boots were 5 dollar more. I felt I should get them for the in store price. The lady I talked to on the phone was understanding and worked to resolve my concerts. She got me to the lady that worked for online sales. She came on the phone and told me the store had my size and I could pick them up. She called the store and verified that. They had the boots all along. The only reason I went back to that store was that they had the boots I wanted. Not because of the staff. I will never have her help me again. Knowing they had the boots. She didnt even look to see. She lied. She really needs to find a job not working with the public.

Big 5 has been my favorite store in so many ways for about 20 years they have not failed me yet. I would be a great manager if I was to ever get a job there I know the store very well. A great store for shoe shopping sporting goods and clothing what more can I say.

This place is your neighborhood sporting store. It has most everything youll need for all kinds of sports. I was able to get in and out really fast with very nice people helping me right away. No searching up and down isles for a salesperson to help you. Definitely recommend this place!

Service here was HORRIBLE! We got two pairs of shoes and were looking at getting some Oakleys. The front counter person called for assistance for us 3 times, meanwhile the manager (who is the only one with the key to the case) walked by completely ignoring us. When we finally di get help they didnt have anything new in the box. We ended up buying our shoes and leaving without any shades.

I had bought the wrong sized rain jacket in northern California and was able to return it in Reno. Great customer service.

I go shopping here a lot. The store is great, if not a little tight. The prices on shoes is pretty decent! Always a sale. They also carry Juicy Couture...and lots of cute clothes. Nike and Under Armour. Outstanding ball cap selection. Camping gear, and sports gear for kids. Also, home workout selection is huge...from ab rollers to kettle bells to bands. They also have a scale selection that can tell you your BMI, if you want to know lol. They even carry candy and beanie babies!

It was fine but didnt see any golf club sets.

I had one item with no tag, I looked everywhere for another item that was the same but they didnt have one. My cashier went online and found it and was never snotty or irritated. The lady who helped us with shoes was upbeat and helpful

Big 5 is the place to pick up name brand tennis shoes at more than reasonable prices.Every other kind of sports gear imaginable is hanging on the racks of this small, clean & easily accessible store!Staff appear to be college age & eager to help one outLocated just south of the Kitzke/S. Virginia intersection. Definitely worth checking out for your sport needs.

Really cool store! I love the outdoors and this place had all of my immediate needs readily available. Great selection of survival equipment, cold weather gear and nice camping section. The fishing department could be a little bit wider.

Poor selection especially in the mens shoe department. The service was terrible. Im not sure if theyre paid on commission but being left in the middle of trying on shoes for a customer purchasing a boxing bag as well as wheeling it from the back to the register while there are other employees available shows a serious need for customer service training.

I get to the store at 7:10 to find the doors locked and all the girl says as she comes out is “were closed.” I told her ok, that online says 8pm. “We dont have control over online.” Yeah, clearly. Super inconvenient.

Went to Big 5 Reno to purchase 9mm. I am on vacation visiting my parents and needed some 9mm Ammo. Searched every store from Reno to Minden. Finally found some at Big 5. When I came to the gun counter they asked for my ID. No problem, I handed her my California drivers license she refused to sell me any ammo. Company policy she said. Ive checked the Nevada DOJ and it is not illegal to sell ammo to out of state buyers.

Prices were good on shoes. Employee was faking it, didnt really know his stuff much. Nevertheless he was friendly and tried to be helpful.

I went here about 2 days ago looking for tenny shoes for a Christmas gift. After I found the perfect pair( so much to choose from) I also found hand & foot warmers. Now as having a child in the military living in a northern state working alot outside and it being winter, we found these to be an excellent stocking gift. Also, the cashier/ customer service answered any and all questions I had. The service at the store on Virginia and Kietzke Lane in Reno Nevada is outstanding and respect, kindness and knowledge of any, all products is great. I will recommend them to all friends and family.

Hi I was shopping for walking shoes on line and Big 5 had a 10$ off of 50$ coupon and the shoes I was looking for. I tried on several other pair until settled on a pair. I went to the front counter and put my items on the counter. I presented the coupon. I will admit that when it printed it came out small.After a few minutes the manager authorized the discount and said have a good day.Good service and people.

Called about a specific piece of gear, they only had two left in the store and put both behind the counter when I called until I got there. I bought both lol, thanks yall our day on the lake was awesome because of you!

Great all around selection of essentials at reasonable prices. Im not one so much for labels as I am for what they might be attached to. Quality is what I look for in anything I buy, durability with purposefully designed functionality is key! Big 5 features value for those who take the time to shop wisely.

I did have a pleasant experience. Their prices are fairly high. But they always have sales so thats the time to go in an buy your items.

The last of the Not big box stores

Have most everything you might need to go camping, even if the selection is limited. For instance, they do have camp dishes but only one set to choose from. That being said, the one set is very fairly priced.Dont come here expecting to find the best of the best of the lightest tent and gear for gram nerds.Perfect for the family going car camping that only goes a couple times a year.

The location is okay (lock your car for sure.) The prices are decent and the selection is okay. Its definitely cheaper than Scheels or Dicks Sporting Goods. We went there to purchase soccer gear and they had all the sizes and items we needed. Not very many employees working but they were helpful.

As I come up to the register to bring the two pairs of shoes that I bought the girl doesnt even say hello to once again Ive graded by a not so nice personality cant even say hello then as Im leaving doesnt even count out my change just hand it to me and doesnt even say I might as well have had a robot although the girl that helped me pick out my shoes was very nice just let her know she should have a little bit more of a personality thank you

The employees were super helpful when I told them I needed a tent and had no idea what I was doing. I also needed to buy a shade pop up and the employee was honest and told me the one I was looking at was not sturdy enough for what I needed. Will be back again!

Always held this place in highest regard til last visit. They had a one day sale and had no inventory showing no incentive to making this transaction right. I was totally in awe.

Kinda small. Buy they have a great camping chair display. I have a bad back so going into a store that allows you to sit in and try the chairs is Betty valuable to me any way. The sales staff Is helpful as well.

Purchased a great pair of Dr. Scholls Promote Womens Walking Shoes at a great price. They were kind enough to put 2 sizes aside for me to try on today. Always a good thing to find what you are looking for in a shoe. Also, a friendly return policy (with receipt) if I have issues later. Always friendly service!

Ive been buying shoes at Big 5 for decades. If you check weekly sales and sign up online for their E-mail list (you should receive a %-off coupon) you can pick up some decent shoes at a nice discount.If you play sports or have a child in a league this is a good place too. Ive bought soccer balls, cleats, gloves, bats, hats, etc. here cheaper than the other stores.

It will be sad when all of the smaller sporting goods stores go out of business to the big box chains. Big 5 is always helpful, has plenty of good deals, but the size limits selection. Worth dropping in if you are nearby or call ahead to see if they have what you are looking for.

I called this store early and asked if they had a item I liked, they did, and then asked if they could save it for me until the evening, they did, and it was there and ready for me to pick up !The one day deal is really good.

Big 5 no matter what store is one of my favorite stores to go to! But i feel like the Reno store has more veriaty on shoes! This store has a lot of stuff which I love! You go in looking for something and walk out with alot more then just one item! Recommend this store employees are very nice and help you out with what you need!

I come here to look at knives they have great deals on them. Would of gave 5 stars but the gun dept. Is lacking.

Drove from Dayton (40+ miles) because the Carson City location said the Reno location had the pair of shoes I wanted. They didnt. I have yet to have a positive experience with ANY Big 5 stores. What a joke!
