This is a great spot in Renton. They have a fantastic wine and beer selection and great service. My main reason for a four rather than a five is because the sauces seem a bit lacking or downright strange in some cases. The charcuterie plates are fantastic and I loved their mushroom bruschetta but the sauce was extremely thick, almost gravy like. I also order the lamb meatballs which were great but also had a strange sauce with flavors I didnt anticipate also the almonds were a strange garnish. Overall though, good food and excellent service, would definitely recommend
If I could give 4.5, I would. Its worth more than 4, but it wasnt perfect. The service was well - intended and sufficient. The salmon was excellent! I chose this place because of its proximity to my hotel and it wasnt a chain. I had the locally-sourced salmon. Not cheap, but worth it and came with a hardy garden salad. Had a great IPA on draft. Overall its a great spot. Highly recommend, especially for a visitor to the area.
This place is so amazing! We had a girls night out and decided we wanted to have a glass of wine together. What we didn’t expect was the amazing service from Mike F. and the experience we would get! We decided that the weather was nice enough that we wanted to eat outside. Mike was kind and turned on the outside lights for us, and even brought us blankets and pillows to sit on! The wine was amazing and the desserts were divine. We will definitely be back!
Nice. Friendly. Calm. Good.Went on a Saturday between 1pm and 4pm. We were two of four guests total at the restaurant. It was a lovely experience in August. Sat outdoors under the shade of the trees. Worth going for a low-key experience with a loved one.5.16.2019Less of a beer selection now. Lovely Avery brown ale (quite dark).
We ordered the Paella and Mac & Cheese. Both orders were ample servings (took both leftovers home in a doggy bag). The Mac & Cheese was some cheesy ooey goodness! So delicious! The Paella was just as good. Lots of clams, shrimp and deliciousness! nice, We had friendly and attentive service.
Really quaint place in an old house. Food was average. Service was terrible. Im pretty sure our waiter forgot about us several times. Took 10 minutes for him to come back and take our order. Food took probably close to 30 minutes to come out. He never cleared our plates and after 20+ minutes of waiting for the check, we went up to the cashier to pay just so we could leave.
The roll was very convenient for sopping up the leftover meat sauce :) My friend said that the Cajun Spiced Chicken Sandwich had a nice amount of spice to it. The French fries that accompanied his burger were the kind that still had some of the skins on them, which I always like, and they came with two dipping condiments.
This is my second visit here. The first time was when the high speed rail fell of the tracks between Lacey and JBLM, about a year a ago now. I had the lasagna then too. When ever I order lasagna, Im hoping to experience the kind of lasagna I had in 1993 at a place called, Franks Place. I have always been disappointed until I stopped at the Red House on whim. I told them then, that it was the best lasagna Ive had in over twenty years. So today, having a little time, I went to see if they still have very good lasagna, and yes, very good. Service was great, prompt, courteous, right on time, and unintrusive. The place was clean, restrooms refreshing, atmosphere delightful, quant, quiet, artistic. All artsy and refined tastes will thoroughly enjoy the Red House.
Have been multiple times and each time has been a wonderful experience.
Cute little gem tucked into downtown Renton. We have gone here a couple of times and the food is goodAnd they have an extensive wine list. We like to share a couple of entrées to get a little taste a different meals. This last visit we did order the mac & cheese with bacon, I would pass on that in the future.
This is a nice place Ive been to many times. It is a good meetup for beers/wines or snacks. I think it might be the best when it is nice out and the patio is open. I cant always find an entree I want to have though as they run a pretty tight menu...though the lasagna is always an option. I dont care for wine, but they seem to have a very big selection if that is your thing.
Great small boutique restaurant. Food is always good along with service. They can be slow at time so if you are in a hurry let them know. They had some great daily home made soups this week. The burger and Lasagna are also regular favorites.
Most amazing Mac and cheese I have ever had! I had bacon added and a side crab cake which I also ended up adding in to the Mac and oh man, so amazing! The staff were great! They were attentive and so kind and warm! My party didnt drink as we were there for lunch but the selection of wine was great as well! The decor is great and I loved the atmosphere! Cant wait to go back to try something else. It took me at least 15 min to decide what to pick off the menu it all looked so good!
This place gets a one star from me. To be fair it was lunchtime on a Monday. Im truly hoping they are better at typical service times. My experience was mediocre, the service was standard. The food: shrimp ceviche tapas, it seems like they only had two shrimp chopped it and you only had six small cubes mixed with chopped crisp vegetables but not marinated appropriately. The baked cheese dish was an attempt to be different but failed in execution. The fries were limp. I liked the ketchup and cream sauce. The wine was good. I really wished it was a better experience.
This is a great restaurant to eat at! When we were visiting Seattle we went to the Red House. The foods a bit pricey ($16 for a hamburger, $16 for lasagna), but the food tastes really good! I ate the lasagna, it was really good. A sibling of mine had the macaroni and cheese, which she really liked. They also have good lemonade.
Good place for a group of 16 to meet for an informal business meal. Well designed upstairs room that allowed conversations. Staff that serves the group efficiently and professionally. Great menu selection at a reasonable price.
Ive only really had the Mac n cheese from here. The flavor has changed and same with the actual pasta used since I started coming here 3 to 4 years ago. I still enjoy it very much. The amount served is pretty good. I usually need a to go box. The price is a bit much, and the price of other items in the menu are a little high. The atmosphere is cozy and the staff is pretty nice. If youre in a time crunch, I recommend calling in your order ahead. It takes some time to get the order out, especially with the Mac n cheese🧀.
As always, the Red House delivers. Our server, Matt, remembered Monica & I from a year ago (of course, we remembered him too). Our meals were absolutely wonderful and we always discover a new full bodied Cab there. The Red House is always a terrific experience. Monica & I love it!
The unique atmosphere, service, and fun local wine selection are what makes this small neighborhood restaurant a gem. Only reason for not giving it 5 stars is because their main courses are all a bit bland. Stick with the tapas menu. That being said, Ive still been here enough times to try every main course...
Great place for dinner and wine! Friendly staff! They also have a small upstairs bar for a party of one which is great. Bonus you can buy wine to take home at very little above retail in case you have extra room in your suitcase. The staff is very knowledgable about great choices!
Amazing as usual!!!!! Everything we had is exceptional. Service, food, atmosphere are is amazing. Tonight we had drinks and many appetizers all delicious. To top the night dessert was insanely delicious. Thank you for another wonderful night.
The menu has changed and has very good items. We especially loved the lamb and beef meatballs. Great marinara sauce. Wait staff was very friendly and professional. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars was because the music piped outside was odd. Screaming music that was too loud then variated with other odd music. If the music had been softer or different would have been better.
Anytime I travel to Seattle, I make sure I get my fix at the Red House. Great beer and wine selections, of course, cozy atmosphere, and terrific tapas or mains. You cant go wrong here.
Yes. All of it, yes. Go to there. The staff clearly enjoy where they work which says much about the owners. The food and service were both impeccable. The wine selection was wonderful. And the best part, the House. A lot of history behind it. Glad we found it (recommended by a friend) but wish we would have discovered it sooner. Within walking distance for us so we will be there REGULARLY with bells from now on. (:Thanks for the great experience!!
At the recommendation of a friend we met here for dinner. This converted house has a quaint and delightful atmosphere. Bottles of wines create an artistic backdrop that begs you to read the labels. The menu has a wide assortment of small and large selections. I enjoyed a bowl of spicy bean soup and a beet salad. Both very delicious! Huge wine selection and decent beer choices. We will be back.

Wonderful dinner! We were first-timers here. This is a true hidden neighborhood gem! I will definitely be back. The salted caramel creme brule is to die for!
Intimate setting with really great food, wide beer and wine selections, and great service. Good place for a date night. One of the most unique Renton restaurants.
Contrary to their website and Open Table, they are closed until further notice
This place is so cozy and very Romantic. The wine is to die for and the food selection is pretty good. Definitely a must see if you’re in the Renton area.
We had my husbands retirement celebration at the Red House and it was superb. A wonderful treat was that we were are to get a private room for us 8 people. So nice to have a quite area to converse. Our waiter was attentive. We had amazing choices of red wine. Our host had selected numerous appetizers. All wonderful. I chose the grilled salmon with risotto. Good but a bit bland. Could have used a bit more flavor. Overall a wonderful evening. Will be back soon
This is the second time we have eaten at the RED HOUSE. The service, menu, food, experience is second to none! They have a wonderful outside patio when the weather is good. The wine list is extensive. Their Pate is fabulous. We look forward to getting back to Seattle again soon
Very nice restaurant. I was there on a Thursday evening with a group of colleagues. The restaurant was quiet. The staff was very pleasant. Service was a bit slow, but not annoyingly slow. I had the paella. It was good - but not great. One colleague reported the burger was excellent, another said the sirloin steak was uninteresting. Apparently the ciopino was very good.
Always very consistent and delicious. Super friendly staff. Two parking spaces in the lot with tons of street parking.
Everything is delicious. And they usually have amazing specials. Great beer and wine list, plus the staff is beyond friendly. It feels incredibly homey and comfortable. The top floor and outside patio seem well situated for private events. Best restaurant in Renton.
A charming and a cozy place. We got a nice little table for six in a section all to ourselves (we had reservations). Food options were limited for dinner but ample of beer and wine options. The lasagne, steak salad were much appreciated. The tapas are great if you are not too hungry. The waitress was attentive and informative.
Quaint. Delicious adult beverages and yummy tapas to share. Great place to get together with friends, coworkers or whatever. Service was attentive. We will be back
This place is worth a visit. They serve big portions for affordable rates. Constantly well kept and with fantastic character. Will visit here again.
This is a great place to go with friends for dinner, especially if youre looking for something really unique. Fantastic wine and beer selection and the food is always great!
My friend and I ordered the classic Mac and cheese with wild salmon. It was VERY cheesy and I think it had 3 different type of cheeses in it. Im probably going to regret it for a few days, but it sure was tasty. Portion size was very generous. We probably couldve shared one order and it wouldve been plenty.
One of my favorite spots in Renton! Genes Lasagna is sooooo good. Great selection of wine and beer
Ronaldo was a great server he is a manager and knows how to treat his clients. Ill be back to this if I get another chance made my night to great good night. A little price on prices but I work hard for this type of life style. Im Blessed. Thanks Ronaldo!! Showed me a some good wine
Had a lovely Caesar salad with Sambal Shrimp with a tasty white blend. Tangy, a little heat and a little sweet. Perfect. The staff is friendly and have great timing for service. I think the prices are reasonable for the quality you get here. Highly recommend!
The food and wine pairings are incredible. I encourage friends to give this a place a go when they are visiting from out of town. The last experience here we had a party of 8, 3 of us wanted to order the chefs special and were told after our order was placed that special had run out along with some other items on the menu. The only reason I dont give 5 stars is because of the lack of communication. I also called and left a message for reservations on the reservation line only to be told that my message was never received so no go on my reservations. I feel like communication and organization could be better.
I love this place. Orlandos service was exceptional and his reccomendations satisfied the soul. Cozy atmosphere. Amazing lasagna. Rentons best kept secret
Very yummy though pricey. It was worth it. Matt, our waiter, was wonderful. Gene, the owner, greeted us at the door as we were leaving. Awesome place
I love the ambiance of this place! Lovely wines, almost any type one could think of. Wonderful service. Didnt eat there, but whatever they were cooking smelled delightful!
Stopped by for lunch one Saturday while in Renton running errands. Delicious food and nice atmosphere. I had the tomato with goat cheese soup (a tangy bisque), crab cake appetizer and Cesar salad. No one seemed upset that we had a 2 year old with us even though we were the only table with a child.Only complaint was the chairs werent that comfortable, but maybe they did that on purpose so people dont linger. :)I would definitely eat here again if I were in the area.
Easily my favorite restaurant, especially on a nice day. One of the best outdoor patios Ive seen and the servers make it feel like michellin level service. This place may be the best kept secret in the area
Extremely delicious food, its very beautiful inside and the service is wonderful. Love going there to eat and will recommend friends and family to eat there.
Quaint old house converted into a restaurant located in older downtown Renton. I fell in love as soon as I walked in. The staff was so friendly and helpful! Our waiter, Orlando, was outstanding and didnt miss a beat! He went out of his way to make sure that everything about our visit (from the wine to dessert) was unforgettable. The food was delicious and even chatted with a couple at another table about what a great little secret this place is! I recommend giving it a try. We will certainly be back and will make it a regular on our list of dining!
We love our evenings here. We enjoy ourselves so much that we almost always get dessert- which is something we rarely do elsewhere. Whether we go for the cheese plate or have dinner, we are always happy. We so enjoy the staff and we look forward to our next visit.
The label may say tapas bar, but Ive found the kitchen to be very good at serving entree meals too. I was worried the tapas label would mean the dinner entrees would be small and overpriced, but I was pleasantly surprised to find their sizes to be perfect and prices reasonable. The taps always feature a good mix of local beer and hard-to-find crafts from further out. Service is excellent, and the setting is very homely and cozy too. I really struggle to find anything at all to complain about.
One of Renton’s finest nooks. Enormous selection of wine with a knowledgeable staff, super friendly and work so hard with so much grace. I truly enjoy this place. I prefer to dine outside - I might take myself out for dinner next time I go 😄
Well prepared food here. Good service With plenty of parking close by. Small restaurant with an intimate setting. I recommend this place And they have a good wine selection.
This place is fun. Its not real large, so you might want to call ahead and make reservations. Selection of tapas is solid. Entrees were all very good. Service is moderate to quick. Wine selection is huge for the size of the venue.
Definitely is a red house. It blends in with the town homes outside of downtown Renton, but it has an amazing wine selection and great food.
The food was good! Desserts are a must! The house is situated in what looks like a residential area. They have a nice size patio and a must on a nice weather! The owner is very hospitable and always smiling!
Took my mom to celebrate her birthday. Awesome food and service. David, our wait person was great!
I’m currently in the restaurant eating the lamb burger with fries. My mind is blown. The atmosphere is undeniably cozy and feels like home even though this is my first experience here. This is an absolute gem in Renton and I’ll be coming here very often. Fantastic.
This little place is a secret treasure! My daughter and I were headed to the airport and wanted to grab a bite before she dropped me at SeaTac. What a find! Wall to wall wine offerings, incredible tapas style food that was SO tasty! The service was excellent and the ambiance was 2nd to none. Fabulous find!
Favorite little date night spot!! Always the absolute best food, great drinks, awesome service. We love going and having lunch or dinner! Highly recommend!
Loved the atmosphere, drinks, service, and the food. Some of the main course portions can be a little small, so ask which plates are hearty if you are hungry. Or grab some tapas with your main, all the ones we shared were good.
It is a very cozy local place. The waiter was very attentive and relatable with a sense of humour. We ordered a cheese plate and olive pickle plate for the tapas. I had a large fresh Mediterranean type salad. It was fresh. Then ordered the homemade lasagna which was very delicious. The beer selection was great.
Our first time visiting the Red House. Friends recommended it and we were pleasantly surprised at how top notch everything was! When I walked in to be seated, it was the first time in years a restaurant smelled and reminded me of Europe. We had fresh figs with goat cheese dressed in honey, lemon and cayenne pepper: AMAZING! You wouldnt think so but it was the perfect palette cleanser. The mozzarella ball with basil and tomato was fantastic!! And chocolate souffle for desert topped of the night perfectly. Will go back every time we are in the Seattle area!!! New favorite restaurant in the Pacific NW.
Cute place with good inside or outside seating. Good variety of food, beer, and wine. Great tasting at fair prices. Went for breakfast/lunch. Enjoyed!
We went here for Valentines Day dinner. Food was amazing!! My wife is a foodie and she was impressed. Plenty of parking across the street. Our waiter was a bit inattentive but the other other waitstaff seemed to be on point. Good place for date night and a bottle of wine to go!
My wife and I have gone on a couple dates here now. Great food, great atmosphere, fun floor to ceiling beer and wine selection where you can pick out your own. This place used to be an old house so it’s fun to walk around and kind of get lost in all the hallways and rooms.
Orlando provided incredible service and made sure that we had a great experience. Incredible food, great drinks. Nice outdoor patio. One to remember and revisit!!
What happened to this place?! Its awful. My husband and I used to enjoy this quaint place, with great food, service and friendly atmosphere. Now it just sucks, all around and the food quality has really suffered! Very disappointing. I do not recommend.
Worst restaurant Ive ever been to! Went last year on a date and awful food and experience. The menu is pretty low in options, and after ordering macaroni, after 40 minutes of waiting, the server says, oh, I forgot about your food! Brings me a plate of burned macaroni and says if I want it can be re-made. I pick through it and dont eat it (is burnt, no salt, no seasoning- just utterly tasteless). Then, on the check, I get a 50% off the next time you come. How lovely- there wont be a next time.
Cute. Meh! Just shared some apps and had a few beers. Atmosphere cozy. Its an old house.
Great customer service. Had a party of 4 families with babies & they were veryb accommodating. Good food. Great beer
Nice cozy place with changing menu and food cooked to perfection. Great place for an affordable night out with your significant other, family or friends. They have a good selection of wines. Staff is great!
The food is great but dont go at lunch in the winter. They must turn heat completely off at night so its freezing in the place at lunchtime. Until they change that, I wont be going.
If I could write a review for everything single menu item we ordered each time weve gone, I would. Their food is amazing. The atmosphere is adorable and everyone from managers to wait staff are nice and attentive. They have tapas and entrées. Their portions are large and you could make a meal solely out of the size of some of the tapas. Weve gotten the nightly specials and never once been disappointed. If they are crowded you may have to walk a block or two from your car but youll need the extra walk at the end of the meal because youll be so stuffed.
Great wine selection. Gourmet food options and very good service.I like this place on a hot summer night. Perfect for a date in old town Renton.
I love this place for business lunches. The seating rooms are private and quiet. Food service doesnt take all day. The menu is simple, but with quality ingredients. Try the Mac & Cheese.
Red House is wonderful and a great place to visit with friends. Its just a bit overpriced - some of the wine they sell for $30 can be purchased retail for $12. Use caution, or throw caution to the wind. Delicious food and great seating.
Great ambiance, staff was excellent, and the food delicious. Not my first visit and I’ll admit I’m a sucker for their Mac ‘n Cheese. Highly recommend the Red House for a date with your SO, or to meet friends for a drink and bite to eat.
Celebrated my 73rd Birthday at the Red House. A blue ribbon menu..wonderful service..great good..4/16/a special day for me. Thank you Gene for your golden heart and magnificient Red House..a Class Act!My Waiter was memorable with Supurb Attitude.
Great food, service and atmosphere. Plus the beer selection is great!!! This is a cool neighborhood restaurant that gets it right every time. Orlando has been my server twice and he is quite simply outstanding.
The best restaurant in Renton by far. The service was impeccable. The food was great, especially for this area. Everything was made from scratch, even the ketchup and tartar sauce. Totally worth the five stars.
Top notch Tapas! Along with a cozy patio table and excellent brew on tap. The real deal.
We visited late afternoon for a drink and light food. The mushrooms and falafel were superb. Wine selection was almost overwhelming. Sangria was sweet, but refreshing, and the beer was good too. Service was exceptional, and the deck seating is the way to go.
Service was awful, very inattentive, forgetful, and inconsiderate. Never offered to refill drinks, threw away food without asking if we were even done, different waiters had completely different desert options.Food was alright, not great. Definitely overpriced. You could have a nice sit down dinner at a restaurant with skilled employees for the price they charge. Im guessing its well rated for the booze, but i wouldnt recommend stopping in for just a meal.
Good food. Nice portions. Fresh salad contents. Friendly staff.
Just had one of the best paellas in my life here. Highly recommend it. Service is good here and picking a bottle from the shelves is fun.
