Recently I often go to the Thrift store. I was surprised at the large number of Goodwill items in Renton.Today is the day when the red tag is 30% off. I recommend checking online which color tags are discounted. It is worth taking advantage of the discount benefits.First of all, many of the used items are very good and sometimes you will find something unique. Im looking for used plant pots and trays. I couldnt find what I liked, but I was shopping in the store for over an hour. You will surely be able to find something in this shop. Recycle as much as you can to support your Thrift store. Also you can donate your items too.
Normally I would say this is a 4 star place but after a incident last month Ive pretty much stopped going. On a positive its a clean place, minimal broken items and floor staff are usually helpful. I had been frequenting the place biweekly for the last year but usually early in the week. Well that has pretty much stopped after I went to return a shirt I had gotten as a gift for a relative (just didnt fit well). From the minute I said I had a return it was hostility at the cash wrap and after waiting a long while for the manager she came out equally hostile, (as others said zero empathy for any situations). She threw her employees under the bus, insinuated I might of stolen the item and kept doing everything in her power to guilt trip me for the situation while making the return. At then end of the day it was a shirt that retails for $100, day of purchase I asked three people price and situation at purchase and they sold it for $7. It is easily going to be sold for a much better profit if someone wises up on their pricing so it really just added insult to injury why the manager would go out of her way to have such an attitude. She really needs a vacation and I feel terrible for the gal she threw under the bus.Otherwise I loved going here, it was my little getaway from the new babes with the bonus of I usually could find cute stuff but my desire to support this store has pretty much left the window. (Corporate should investigate with all the reviews of terrible management) - Anyways best of luck fellow shoppers. Its small but you can find some good stuff just avoid later in the week less you get the hostile crew.
Terrible management here. Went to this location on 9/15/21 11:00 AM. The employees around the store were very friendly and I found an area rug. Rug was tagged $15. Went to front of store, there was a very long line and I waited patiently. Employees were doing fine. One employee was apparently disputing with a customer the price of a childrens sports jersey, holding up the line. More employees quickly arrived to help after said employee ran away to re tag the item. When I reached the register, a very nice employee was ringing me up, when the employee that had stepped away jumped in front of her to proclaim that the rug I had picked out could not possibly by $15. She checked the back, $15 was written IN SHARPIE on the back of the rug itself. She claimed the rug was worth $100 new. Then she ran away with my rug to go reprice it. I left, it was utterly ridiculous that this (apparent) manager was at the registers INCREASING prices! TERRIBLE business practice. I went here sometimes twice a week, and will NEVER return. Employee that was changing prices was apparently middle aged, Caucasian woman, blond hair. She was very rude, and dismissive of customers. I am a business operator myself, and her conduct was laughable.
I am 100% disabled and can only wear a mask over my mouth and not my nose. I have a medical card and a note from my doctor stating this fact. Lisa the general manager here was so rude and forced me out of the store even though its against the Americans with Disabilities Act. Please do not shop here if you care about people such as myself. I write honest reviews and if you agree with this please hit the like button.
Conflicting information regarding what is taken and what is not. Takes fabric couches, doesnt take it, will take items in good condition with NO scratches etc. So they might take items that are new so that they can resell them for $$.The only way to know is to show up and hope. As a donation, this isnt the way to do it. There is no upside for the customer. Best case it works and your out time and effort. worst case its a waste of time.
This Goodwill has alot of lightly used and in good shape items, such as clothing and shoes. It wasnt over priced but, the store needs a good cleaning, make over inside and out!!! If you can over look the dirtyness youll be surprised at what you can find there!!! It worth it to me, as it lowers the prices... 🙂

Very polite and informative staff. Need to have a quicker way to drop off donations. But overall a great store and friendly atmosphere.
Pretty rude. We arrived 18 minutes before closing and immediately upon entering were told they were closing we had 5 minutes. Then a literal 2 minutes later the guy went through the store forcibly yelling people they had to get in line now. People were kicked out at 8:49 when they say they close at 9. Change your hours or change your attitude because it was an uncomfortable experience.
Good place to drop off gently used clothes and other stuff
Really like this good well. Clean, lots of good stuff at great prices.very friendly staff.
My dad loves this place, always get good deals.
Always clean, well organized, doesnt smell! Good service and my favorite store!
Store is clean, friendly and well stocked. It is a great place to shop.
Worst Goodwill branch I’ve ever been. Managers and employees have the worst customer service ever. Zero empathy. They need to realize it is a thrift store they work for. Will never come again.
Cleanest Goodwill Ive ever been to. Everything super organized! Staff very friendly and helpful. I was looking to test out some toys for my little one and they were super helpful, giving me new batteries to put into the toys, to make sure they worked. Plenty of toys, childrens books, stuffed animals... lots of workout gear, shirts and sweaters, all arranged by color, lots and lots of books, Halloween stuff, and a large assortment of jewelry. Bought my little one $30 worth of toys, books, and clothing.. And definitely got my moneys worth!
I have been to most Goodwills in the region, and I know it’s touch and go for what you’ll experience at any thrift store. I got a couple finds, but the prices here are too high….I saw so many items marked $30-$50. The store was disorganized and messy (I couldn’t find my sizes in nearly any section, most were sorted by color and all the sizes mixed together) I spoke to several staff, who were disinterested and unfriendly. They close the fitting rooms a full hour and a half before close, earlier than any thrift store I’ve seen.
Overall the store is pretty nice and organized, however there is an Asian woman who works behind the counter where the computer games and antiques are, she is so rude and disrespectful. Im a retro gamer so I like to get my games behind the counter because sometimes youll find brand new sealed games. Every time I ask for something behind the counter, this asian woman that seems to work there just about everyday is very rude and mean. I asked to see one of the games in the glass case and she literally threw it at me. I dont appreciate being treated this way, I am a paying customer. I give this location a 0! Go to goodwill 360 in Kent, theyre way nicer and youll have a way more pleasant experience than this location.
This is a very large Goodwill with a quick turnover of inventory. Located next door to SAARs Mexican grocery, one of the best good stores to shop at and just down from the giant round water tank. This store has nice employees and literally tons of stuff to look through, changing by the moment.Rite Aid is almost next door with Walgreens across the street. If this was helpful, please click like for me. Thanks.
A nice clean store with a well organized selection, but the managers special had every limited selection -- only on red tag electronics: 30% off.
The store is now very organized. I mean like incredibly organized.
I gave it a 4 because it was a good place but it didnt have most of the stuff I was looking for
Amazing selection of household necessities and was pleasantly pleased by the variety of the tools and hardware items. Came in expecting a ho-hum trip and left with many items I had been looking for for months for my kitchen.
Decent selection for a Goodwill. Some nice hidden gems. On the larger side of Goodwill stores. Not too messy either.
Great place to shop. They have great finds. I always seem to find something when I go there.
I went into the Goodwill store out of curiosity since Id never been to one before and was very pleasantly surprised. Its well stocked and organized. A few of the items they carry are new.Even though I wouldnt buy used clothes there are some things in such great shape that were happy to give them a new home and a longer life .At the register the lady decided to give me a discount without me asking for it.Im definitely checking back from time to time 🤓
Great place to bring your old, or ill fitting clothes. Although the line for the drive up drop off was a little hard to find.
Lots of overpriced items and some staff is slightly unfriendly but overall an ok location
Not the largest Goodwill Ive ever visited, but it is clean, there is still a fair amount of variety, and the staff are helpful and polite. Always an enjoyable experience to go treasure-hunting here.
Pretty good selection but had a manager not leave us alone after I told him my autistic son had a medical exemption from the mask harass us. Probably wont be back to this location
Always find deals.
A tall, old, skinny man, with slightly darker skin was so rude to me the last two times I went there. The first time I went he was yelling at me to leave the store saying that they were closing when it says here they close at 9 it was 8:30.The second time I went there I picked up a basket and picked up a couple things and as I was looking at the jewelry that was on display I turned away for two minutes max with the basket besides me on the ground it was gone as soon as I turned back.I asked the man where my basket was when He started yelling at me saying how I wasnt allowed to have it on the ground besides me and how he already put everything I got away, I was so upset with that man and he shouldnt be working at a place where people shop let alone talk to them.
Store is well organized, but the PRICES. Ikea housewares for DOUBLE the price you could buy it at Ikea. So disappointing. Wont be back to this store.
I used to work at G12 (Renton goodwill) around 2019 and I learned a lot from the people I worked with. They taught me how to handle stressful situations, especially with people who make our jobs even harder for things that can be easily resolved like donations and retail. The benefits were good and the people were very welcoming, we all became a little family in a way. But when it came to working on the donation line, it became a hostile work environment NOT because of the people that worked there, but because of the donators/customers themselves.I worked on receiving and declining donations, and sorting through donations when I dont have vehicles on the line, and assisting our retail team with loading products into customers vehicles. Sounds simple right? well unfortunately no. The other material handlers and I were always in CONSTANT FIGHT OR FLIGHT, because of the countless threats from donators/customers. Everyday, every car, every person became a flip of a coin of whether or not we were going to be assaulted, just because we simply do our jobs and watch the safety of our staff and customers, and to accomplish our mission. At my time being there as a old customer and now a former worker, I understand how much these people have to put up with, and the mental toll it puts on them when it comes to constant insults and threats. At my time being there I also helped with furniture, which was a big part of the problem we all faced. When the material handler or the manager says no to certain items, its simply because its either DAMAGED, STAINED, OR HAZARDOUS really just some common sense end of story, there shouldnt be any if and or buts about it.We would be chill, respectful and overall professional about these situations, mainly because we suggest other places that could help them if we werent able to. But most of the donators/customers feel like they have a sense of entitlement, that makes them escalate the situation to go into a hostile environment when they dont get their way. I understand that everyone goes through something in their lives and they want to get things done, which is very understandable, they have that too.People would tell me that the people over there are losers, and arent good at their jobs...you sure about that? We constantly deal with your hostility and have to take it in, like its not going to effect our mental/physical heath, and if we get cut from donators knives or shattered glass that they put in a garbage bag full of clothes, we have to patch ourselves up and go back to work and hope to not get cut again and carry a ton of bins and furniture while dealing with donations in a fast paste. Step into our shoes for fives months or even a year and tell me the same thing. We are all adults and when I shop there I mostly see staff being logical and reasonable while customers are pulling out threats like its okay to do to anyone. So please respect the ones who have to deal with the constant insults and threats, and be patient with the ones who arent fluent in English they work as hard as everyone else.Okay since you got a little idea whats it like in the workers perspective, heres my ACTUAL review of the store.Store is good its very well sorted, the prices on some of the items can be a bit too much compared to other stores but its not suppose to be like other stores so I can understand that and move on from it. The thing that should be done is a specific list of donations that they dont take and have a description on why they dont take them, we didnt have that when I was there. I do think that some management should work on their tone when they communicate because it can come out as rude and unprofessional, Im just saying this because it was like that for staff as well when it came to some management trying to communicate to us. And I know most of them mean well so thats all Im gonna put out on that. I do think there should be some way for everyone to social distance because the last time I was there, there wasnt any guides on how to shop but also keep your distance.
Manager charges more for used items than I can get at any retail store brand new. Want to pay $13.99 for a used McDonald’s crew T-shirt that’s given to you upon employment, well this is the place to go! Used burnt out Black and decker drill batteries that haven’t held a charge since the 90s for $11.99? Come to this goodwill they have them! Anything worth buying here is set behind the “valuables case” and cranked up triple what you’d pay anywhere else. If your looking to solely donate money to this organization be my guest, however if you are looking to get good deals on anything just go to the Bellevue square mall and pay retail price it’ll save you half the cost.
Nice store Great items And I got what was I went to look for. I was a happy shopper.
Very big store, everythings available.
Arrived at 8:48pm to shop. The employee locked the door early. Watched him let another lady in the store right in front of me. I asked him why he let her in. He said he had plenty of customers in line. They should probably change their hours.
Way, way outrageous prices. Dollar store items were $3
This was the thrift store to go to growing up in the highlands. Good selection and I love checking out their mens coats. You can get some great deals
The donation line moved quickly.
Nice people just not very much variety.
The store was packed. People were wearing masks but there was absolutely no social distancing despite signage. Be prepared to be shoulder to shoulder. They do not have touchless transactions credit card machines tap functionality was not working and had to use a pen to sign for a $3 purchase.
Consistent pandemic protocol, helpful and friendly staff will always keep me coming back
Variety of selection. Some clothing prices close to new retail.
Well kept and clean with a few bargains. As Goodwills go a cut above the rest,
If you love to be thrifty this is the place for you. The item selection is good and the store is clean. We always find something cool here:)
Very helpful staff. Made a donation with some heavy stuff. They offered to help me unload. Gracious
Employees are very very helpful the dollar 50 thank each and every one a working
When they finally opened up after months of closure from covid when other goodwills such as in Bellevue were already open, not only did they get rid of their clothing donation bin where you could just drop bags in, they make you get in your car and drive all the way around to drop off items when my car was parked less than 10 seconds away. They would not accept my items when I walked up to them. Very weird. So you have to get back in your car and since its only a one way drop off lane, you have to drive all the way to the end of the shopping strip, take a right and cut through the back and down the one way drop off lane. Oh and dont think of trying to put your car in reverse to back in that way even when there are no other drop offs. Will not be coming back here for any future donations.
Very long drop off line, but polite and helpful staff.
I like going to the Goodwill. You never know what your going to find. They have special deals going on daily. Their prices are fair and the overall merchandise is in good condition. I have set up a few past apartments with some good finds from these stores and did it on a simple budget. Their employees are friendly and helpful. I always leave with the feeling that I got some great stuff at a discounted price. New or used. You really cant tell! Great place to find a little bit of everything!
Found a couple red tags its a good day
Recently reopened. Long but efficient donation line. Considerate staff and patient people in line.
I called to ask if they would accept a fully functional wine fridge, and the individual on the phone said yes. I loaded it up, drove there, and waited in line only to be turned away because they only accept small appliances. It would be nice if they had a clear policy posted online or the personnel were all equally informed.
Awesome drop off quick efficient sadly no large items but thats understandable
I have not been to the Goodwill in Renton Highlands for many years. I was pleasantly surprised at not only how clean the store was, it was also well-lit organized and the staff there was amazingly efficient, Pleasant, helpful, and actually happy to have customers in the store period when Closing Time came and the line was a mile-long not once did any of the staff look displeased that they may have to stay a few extra minutes. They were courteous helpful kind and very professional. I can hardly wait for my next visit to the Renton Highlands Goodwill. I wish some of the other Goodwills would send their employees to this location for customer training. Thanks for all your hard work Renton Highlands Goodwill it was a job well done!
Always well organized and clean! Never had an unsuccessful trip to this Goodwill.
Great bargains today
Put one star because I had to. I understand there’s a pandemic. But out of every store Costco, Fred Meyer, Safeway, target, Walmart, Winco. Etc this one was the worst as far as customer service goes. Before I even got into the store a supervisor was yelling at my family demanding that my just turned 4 year old daughter put on her mask! The rest of us had one on but we have trouble getting her to wear one. This man decided to yell and be rude to me snd my family Embarrassing us in front of everyone. Just down right rude and nasty!! I recorded the incident and I will be pursuing this until it’s conclusion. But just to be clear I give this place a 0 and I do not recommend bringing your children let alone going shopping here!
Its a somewhat small store for a Goodwill so the selection is limited and the store gets crowded and hard to navigate. The staff is helpful and friendly. Right now they have a good selection of Halloween costumes. Today the staff was dressed up and had a fashion show, which made for a very entertaining visit.
Prices are way high. Not great on specials, rude and nott a great selection.
I am a huge fan of the Goodwill stores throughout the Seattle area. It doesnt matter what Goodwill location you go to, youll always find hidden treasures throughout the store. You can everything from: furniture, bathroom decor, kitchen decor, bedroom decor, outdoor decor, tools, power tools, electronics, kitchen electronics, men & womens clothing & shoes, children and baby clothing & shoes, accessories for men and women, books, board games, kitchen wear and much much more. At the same time theres a lot of used goods but if you didnt know theres a lot of new or newer items to choose from. When you get some time check out your local Goodwill store.
It has wonderful customer service. I think the prices seem high here and suspect employees get off the top at first pick. This seems unfair.
I love this place! Great toys, games, puzzles books. Loads of costume jewelry. I find great deals every visit. Love that my spending funds job training for those in need. Staff is kind and helpful.
Yes Lisa at this location is extremely obnoxious she follows you around while people are literally stealing right in front of her but she’s too busy harassing paying customers and watching that every single Mills will not be coming here again
Wonderful gems inside
Quality of items is going down hill. Prices are higher than Value Village and items are not as clean nor as in good condition as they use to be.Watch your prices. I found good will is becoming the equivalent of new products for prices.
Goodwill is a wonderful place for great finds and treasures. I appreciate Brendas (cashier) professionalism, kindness and care today. Thank you for helping me with a nice shopping experience!
I went to this goodwill at 8.20pm and picked a few items quickly and on my way out I was still looking at items before getting to the cashier.this older tall man who looked like the manager started stopping me from looking at things very rudely and it was abt 15mins to time.he made me hate going back there...Ive always had a good experience at goodwill Renton until 3days ago
Some awesome stuff in a well organized store. There was an attendant at the changing rooms. So unusual, but she kept things neat. My only complaint was there was only one cashier
All staff was pleasant. Store is clean and better organized than expected. Only recommendation is to have linen section organized like clothes with sizes grouped together. That is what I was there for and it took forever to go through selection because everything was jumbled together.
Smaller selection and double the prices compared to goodwill tukwila
The supervisor harassed my four-year-old daughter because she didnt have her face mask over her nose ( she has a hard time breathing and but at least she was wearing it). The governor said five and under are not required to wear it. The store is ok but not the supervisor.
Better pricing than other Goodwills. Weird.
I work here its a good place to work and a good place for shopping
Lots of great things
The most organized and cleanest location! Every single employee is helpful, kind and available to help in any way! Highly recommend this store!
Very clean and ordaly, wish it had more xxx t shirts, larger Shorts.
Not a good experience dropping stuff off. You have to drive around the back of the building, there was a LONG line, only one guy helping unload and the guy was slow moving and asked us if we knew the new drop off line was behind the building. We clearly knew, since we had very obviously just been in the line. I realize Goodwill is a job training program, but this guy needed some more training before being left alone at the drop off at a busy time. Having more than one car able to drop stuff off at a time would be nice too.
No words just WOW 😲😲😳
Worse customer service, will not buy from. Front door Asian woman was so rude, had attitude that 3 other customers left right away. One lady asked what color on sale today, she made fun of the lady because she’ve asked. Another lady asked what “Today’s Manager special “ the same front door at jewelry laughed and said 30%, the lady said so what’s on 50%, she looked at her and said to the Asian man talking to him “she want 50%, what she thinks”.
It is a wonderful store with great employees. A bunch of higher things come through the before and an over abundance of furniture. Its a nice place to shop for anything.
Prices have gone WAY up, time to find a different thrift store 😢
A good thrift store. Super busy, but it was Saturday afternoon when we visited ... so that’s to be expected. Really big selection of housewares. Good kids books.
They rejected perfectly good furniture because it wasnt fancy enough/was a little biffed from the move. Had to go to St. Vincent de Paul- which is an actual non-profit. Do not recommend this location, nor this organization.
Over priced items for second hand items. Quality of items is not all that great. Store is dirty and Id call this store more of a flee market.Rude customers that dont look where theyre going. I use to go around people but now I wont budge and they just have to go around me or bump into me. In a place where its impossible to try to be professionally polite as a customer I give up.Customer service varies from good to bad. It just depends upon the mood of the cashier. Id say over all its so-so.
I wonder where all my stuffs disappear?
Donation drive through are longer and no furniture or large items accepted
Parking can be hard to find some days but the selection here is great compared to other thrift shops and its relatively well-organized. Have found some real gems here over the past years.
Not the best, not the worst. My wife often finds good deals on womens clothing. Mens restroom often needs cleaning.
This location always has an abundance of furniture especially shelves, various kinds of tables, and desks. Great value and exceptional prices on a lot of their housewares also. The rest of the store is mostly undesirable, not very clean, and not reasonable in their pricing.
This used to be one of my favorite locations but now, on top of being picked over by resellers, they have a section of designer stuff thats higher priced in the front. What happened to the thrill of the hunt?!
I love this place, resellers will complain about pricing cause they dont make easy money offloading the stuff on ebay but pricing is fair and the employees are so helpful.. Dont forget the show case!! My wife gets coach handbags that look brand new for like $40! And they are always stocked with designer stuff, its eBay price without the shipping costs... keep doing what youre doing!
I was honestly surprised by the breadth of items on offer here, and the quality of a number of them. Less impressive was the lack of actual organization in the books and womens clothing sections. While ostensibly there are various sections of books (fiction, sci-fi/fantasy, biography, history, etc), there wasnt much adherence to those categories. I found memoirs in the fiction section, novels in the history section, etc. It made it hard to peruse only the topics that interested me (and thats not even considering the fact that it wasnt really alphabetized); I spent about 3x longer looking thru books than it should have taken. Similar in womens clothing where the size categories were only VERY loose suggestions. Still, the sheer options and variety of items made the trip fun and productive, if long. Ill be visiting them again in the future.
