ABSOULETLY AMAZING!! Holly is a true gem and so helpful. She really made my daughter feel comfortable during the whole process of getting the right size bra. The shop is very cute and cozy and there are so many options of bras from full coverage to strapless and they even have swim suits that are supportive. If you are struggling to find the right size bra I would 100 percent recommend stopping by. You can make an appointment on line which is nice so there is not an over abundance of people needing help and your stuck waiting!

Amazing job fitting, I actually have a sports bra for the first time in over a decade! One bra wasnt in stock in my size so they ordered it online for me and had it shipped to my place. It ended up not fitting but I brought it in for a trade and got the difference on a cheaper bra refunded. Fantastic service, great selection, Im already making plans to get a bathing suit here!

My experience was great! I scheduled a private fitting online. The owner, Holly, went above and beyond to listen to me and ensure that I was comfortable the whole time. Holly is a gift to us all. She took one look at me, knew my size, asked what types of bras I usually like to wear, and gave me a wide variety of options. She educated me on what types of bras to look for (wide set bras instead of narrow bras) and for the first time in 32 years, I felt comfortable in a bra. Now I know what region of the world makes bras for my body shape and the sizes that fit most naturally.I will come back to this store and refer all my female friends again and again.

This is the best selection of bras in my size I have ever found. It took me a long time to figure out what I wear, but the ladies here would have saved me a lot of trouble. Bras are within normal price range and they are happy to pull from the sales rack for you. I walked out with 4, so I won’t be back for awhile, but overall it was a good experience.

I used the abrathatfits calculator so I knew my size but I had absolutely no idea what style would work best for me. A bit of Google searching and I found this place. HOLY COW!! The customer service is spectacular! Holly is so welcoming, friendly, and super patient with me (I can be pretty picky). I was shocked I was able to find 3 bras I liked and found my brand. I absolutely love every time I go here to shop! Holly is amazing! She knows her products and gets you exactly what you need. I love the fact that I can try on multiple styles in my size! I went to The Pencil Test after wearing sports bras almost exclusively throughout the pandemic. I knew it was time to get some new bras and I had read great things about The Pencil Test and Hollie, the owner. Everything Id heard was true! Hollie was able to tell me just by looking at me that I was wearing the wrong size bra and quickly had my correct size figured out. She brought me lots of bras to try on, had good advice and information, and kept up entertaining conversation while I tried them all on. My favorite was when she explained that a specific bra would give me Renaissance faire or Bridgerton cleavage (pushed up but not all the way squished together). I walked out with bras that fit and knowing that Ill be back.

One hour in this store taught me more and accomplished more than months worth of online research and Amazon Prime Wardrobe orders.Holly is amazing and really knows her stuff. She really sets you at ease and is empathetic, funny, and fun to talk to. Despite bra shopping always being up there with bathing suit shopping and ripping out my eyeballs on the list of things I dont want to do, for the first time in my life it was actually an enjoyable experience.They have an enormous selection, even in hard to find sizes, and despite going in merely hoping Id at least leave knowing once and for all what my size is, I left with not one, but TWO bras I actually like! I could not possibly have asked for a better experience and definitely plan to make the trek down here a couple times to year to check out any new stock they get.If you live anywhere even remotely close to The Pencil Test, do yourself a favor and book an appointment.

This place is absolutely awesome! I had went on r/abrathatfits to try and figure out my size and this boutique was listed. I was able to get an appt the same day. Holly helped to confirm my size (used to think i was a 46c, but Im really a 38GG/38J). The selection is yo die for, and the quality is too notch. I went in thinking that I would only be able to afford maybe two bras (since they do sizing AND have an awesome selection), but the place is SUPER AFFORDABLE without being low quality. I actually think i got a steal because Ive purchased from VS and NEVER got items this cute with awesome support. Theyve got a customer for LIFE!The top two in the pics are two of my old ones, just so you can see how off I was in size! The rest are what i purchased. The polka dot one was on sale.

Cold, hard, and to the point, wasnt friendly at all. Didnt show any care or consideration to me. Didnt explain or give any help to finding a more correct fitting bra.Set up an appointment weeks ahead of time, but by the end, I desperately wanted it to be over.

I had such an amazing experience! I wish I had tons of money to buy one of everything. I have a hard to find size and there were tons of beautiful options in my size. Matching underwear as well. The owner was kind and helpful and not pushy. I will only buy bras here going forward!

HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND IF YOU HAVE A BIGGER BUST. My friend told me about this store because I am constantly complaining about Nordstrom’s non existent selection in store and it totally was a blessing! I am a 40JJ and it is literally IMPOSSIBLE to find any physical stores that have my size (Nordstrom is the only store). This place not only has my size but they have a big selection which is something I have never experienced in my life. The woman who works here is completely knowledgeable and does just more than size you, she actually helps you feel confident and supportive when trying on bras. Love this place! As a large chested person, Ive always had issues finding comfortable bras. I spent the entire summer buying online and sending back. I finally decided to get fitted and am I happy that I did. I was comfortable during the entire experience and really enjoyed having a one on one shopping experience. I was the only person in the store and really felt taken care of.

Excellent customer service! I booked an appointment because of covid-19 and I think I was the only customer in there during my time slot. I wear an unusual size that often even the most inclusive shops dont have, but they had plenty for me to try on. I came away with a new favorite brand and my first bralette that actually fits (truly a remarkable feat). Great mask usage by staff, and they let the bras etc sit for a few days before putting them back into circulation. Oh and you can pay with tap too. Great experience, highly recommend booking in

I stopped by the Pencil Test during my lunch break (around 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM) on Wednesday, October 7 with my friend/co-worker, who like me, has a large bust. I was on the hunt for a bra with a deep plunge and my friend always heard me talk up this store and wanted to see it for herself and get something cute for herself. When we arrived we noticed the Appointments Only sign. Which is completely understandable and appreciated in these times. However, I made eye contact with the employee working there and waved hoping to speak with her and ask when her the next available appointment was. She looked directly at me and walked off. I was a little taken aback, but having worked in retail myself I gave her the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe there was a phone, bell, etc. that needed attention. However, she went behind the cashiers desk and just stood there. (Side note. No customers were in the store to my knowledge). So I waved again. Nothing. So I called them on my cell phone. She answered it after a few rings, and I explained I was the gal out front waving and was wondering when the next available appointment was to look for a deep plunge bra for an upcoming wedding Im a part of. She quickly responded We dont have anything like that here. and said goodbye. If any bra store for bigger gals had something like this, it would be The Pencil Test. Im utterly disappointed in my latest experience here and for my friends first ever experience here.

Fantastic bra shopping experience! I wondered if the drive to Renton would be worthwhile, considering how miserable bra shopping is and how often I leave disappointed. TOTALLY worth it. Lovely staff, easily accessible location!I went in with my friend seeking 1 or maybe 2 new bras - nothing to break the bank - and hoping to get a sizing where I felt confident that the attendant knew what they were talking about. The 2 ladies in the shop were a delight, friendly and happy to suggest many bras that they checked to ensure proper fit. I went home with 3(!) bras from the clearance section & am going back again today with my sister who also needs bras.They have brands and sizes ranging from the most basic ideas to incredibly fancy and whimsical designs & colors.If youre in need a sizing or just a new over-the-shoulder-boulder-holder, The Pencil Test has your back!

Lovely staff! Was helped and fitted by Sarah (unsure how she spells her name). Wonderful selection, and huge size ranges. Heard about 2-3 other people being fitted while I was there, and everyone had such patience. So sad I dont live here to come back all the time!

Ive changed a lot in sizing even over the last year and had no idea what my bra size was anymore. Kaitlyn(not sure of spelling, sorry!) was incredibly helpful during sizing and by the end of my shopping experience I had 4 bras that I feel amazing in. If you need a bra, you cant go wrong with this place, Ill definitely be going back!

I happened to walk by this store during the car show recently and I popped in to inquire about small band/large cup sizes... Ladies, I have literally never had so many options to choose from in any store (including other specialty stores). Im a 30FF currently and I purchased two beautiful bras for the same price as Im used to buying one for, and on top of that I actually found pretty things in non-neutral colors. I dont live close by, but Ill be making the trek next time Im in need.

I was in need of nursing bras and was pleased with the large selection of styles and colors. The staff was very friendly and provided any privacy I needed while trying on bras. I highly recommend.

A little hard to find, but SO worth it. Ditch VS ladies. A better fit awaits you. The staff was so nice and accommodating. A wide selection of sizes - 150+. And cute styles!Definitely my go to place from now on!

I had heard from a friend that this store was amazing... and she was so right! The staff here takes the time to fit you properly, tells you why what you are wearing is not the best fit and even tries to fit your price point. This store is a place that every lady needs to visit!

Great experience in a beautiful space in downtown Renton. The staff were so nice and helpful and I bought 2 beautiful, well fitting new bras. I’m only regretting not getting a third! I drove from Fall City and it was so worth it!

When you’re my size (34K)and the mainstream stores like Nordstrom and Soma can’t help, I get discouraged, but someone referred me to The Pencil Test and it is AWESOME! I appreciated their obvious expertise, custom fitting and wide range of styles. All designs were beautiful and not utilitarian as some larger sizes become in other shops. Will definitely recommend and be back myself.

I shopped here today after realizing they have bras and swimsuits with D cups and larger. If only I had found them sooner. Last time I was fit for a bra at Nordstroms, they put me in a 36GG and then 34HH. Im 56 and 150 pounds.Well, today they put me in sizes 32N and 30JJ. OH MY GOODNESS, they didnt ride up around my rib cage and the cups fit perfectly.I also found a swimsuit that fit for the first time in 15 years. Ive always had to compromise and the two I found today fit like they were made for me.

So, I had to wait a bit to write this review to minimize my risk of being overly enthusiastic and come across like a shill or some kind of infomercial success story but I really am beyond thrilled with this store. Im a tricky size and havent been able to buy a bra at a Target or Fred Meyer since early HS. Even Nordstrom has failed me just as often as I found something that fit (asking for an experienced fitter gets you nowhere beyond the person you walked up to). Ive left empty handed or cried often enough that Id only go every few years when the 4 bras I had were finally intolerable and past mending. Here, however, I found not only fitters that knew their stuff and actually nailed the first bra I was handed, but I left with four bras under 200 bucks! In COLORS/PATTERNS not just industrial beige/black! One converts to a racer back! And one was even $20! That literally hasnt happened in at least... a Decade? Two? Even on sale racks! I made sure to wear every bra at least once before writing this to ensure I didnt wind up regretting my purchase after wearing it for a couple hours (has happened more often than I can count)!and everything is better than the stuff already in my drawer!tl:dr - excellent fitters, variety of styles/sizes/colors, variety of price points, no crying, everything fit, in and out under an hour even with chatting/rambling. These 32Hs [Eu] are finally happy! Support this store like they support my girls!
