I highly recommend Mike and all the guys at A-1 in Republic! They are all great and will explain what your vehicle needs. We started going to them about 3 years ago and haven’t been anywhere else since. I deliver mail out of my personal Jeep daily and they have kept me on the road. They use top quality products and back their products by the warranty. They are honest and upfront with all the things that need to be addressed in all of our vehicles, and we have a lot! I used A-1 today for the exhaust work on my 2021 Charger. They did exceptional work, quick service and at a great price. A-1 will be doing ALL of my custom car work in the future. Hands down great company.

UPDATE*To the owner: My negative review had nothing to do with the failed inspection (which btw, you guys told me that you wouldnt be able to inspect it that day but you did anyway). My review addressed the poor customer service I received, which you apparently care nothing about.You also replace a part (rubber exhaust hanger) that I had replaced two weeks prior to bringing it in. The part cost me $1.85 online, yet you guys charged me $5 for the part and an additional $7 for labor. All for a part that was practically brand new.You also told me over the phone that the repair normally runs around $65 and I ended up paying close to $200. This seems to be a running theme with your business according to other negative reviews.This place has terrible customer service. The two men working the front desk were very unfriendly and did not seem to know what they were doing. They also told me my repair would cost around $65 but it ended up being $200. And that’s after I told them not to repair a part that was completely unrelated to the original issue (they quoted $700 to fix it).They also charged me for things that did not need to be replaced. One of the parts they charged me for was actually new but they replaced it anyway.If you want to pay for things that don’t need repaired then go to A-1 in Republic. They will happily charge you for anything they can find wrong and price gauge you in the process.I would never recommend this place…even for something as simple as an oil change.

The service here is amazing and friendly. They communicate with you the whole way threw the work that is being done for you.

Update: got a call from Mike the manager from the hospital from surgery... talk about dedication. He asked for the opportunity to make things right, how could I refuse a guy in the hospital? Once he got back on Monday he sure did! On time, and though I haven’t picked it up yet I bet she stops on a dime. Thank you Mike for being there. Should have never happened but these days you have to appreciate someone admitting a mistake, and then doing right by it.I used to use this place frequently, my daughters car happened to get a brake stuck very close by so I asked her to drop it there. I stopped by this morning to check in and touch base. Before I could say a word Alan asked if I had an appointment, so I said no. “Well we are at least a week and a half out”. I explained the situation and he simply replies “did you make an appointment “. How would that even be possible after explaining she broke down basically last night at 9 pm, and this conversation happening at 5 after 8 the next morning?Simple answer is he doesn’t care. I used to deal with Mike Burgess there, he was great. Until I turned to leave, Alan could have cared less.Their techs do good work, but I guess if your car is gonna breakdown be sure to schedule that breakdown with Alan if you’re gonna use these guys.

I had my struts replaced. My car was in and out the same day. The staff was friendly and helpful. I will take my car back for service again.

***UPDATE: Since posting this review we received a call from the manager. After an extensive apology, he asked for details. He assured us that they do take this very seriously and that training will follow for those who did not properly inspect. He seemed legitimately sincere in his efforts to make this right. We will give them another chance, should the opportunity arrise. Thank you A-1 for going to great lengths to ensure that this issue does not happen to anyone else. ***1 month ago we brought our vehicle here for a brake inspection. We were told that everything was great! I am now paying $400 in repairs because they were not properly inspected and I now have extensive damage that could have been avoided. Im sorely disappointed.

We moved to Republic a few months ago. Our vehicles needed some maintenance, and I saw A-1 had good reviews on google, so I checked them out. They were friendly, professional, communicated really well. They can either send you text messages with updates about your vehicle or will call you, whichever works best for you. I’ll continue doing business with them.

My only complaint with the repairs here is the same complaint as other places. In my opinion, the fee for the diagnostic testing should be waived if you get the recommended repairs done by that shop. I understand the shops dont want people coming in to find out whats wrong with their vehicles and then doing the repairs elsewhere or on their own.

A1 was very professional, and felt like a small business. They were super affordable, and had my car done extremely fast. Will definitely be going back again. Also, they worked on the only thing I told them to work on. They didn’t try to update me on a bunch of mysterious “issues” like other places do.

I had never used this shop before and my truck was towed there on a Monday evening. They got it in to look at it by 1pm the following day and kept me up-to-date throughout the entire process. They then turned around and had it done by 11am the following day. Dave and Mike were extremely thorough when in contact with me and went above and beyond to attempt to honor a lifetime warranty from another shop. I will definitely be using them again if needed.

Mike is always super helpful! He doesnt take advantage of my lack of car knowledge and makes sure I understand what is going on everytime! Great customer and car service! We always bring both our cars here!

These guys seem pretty great! I took my cousin by to pick up her car, they had been working on. They informed her it may not be ready by the time she needed in order for her to be able to make it to work on time. They then offered to take her to work and bring her car by when they finished up with it, which didnt end up being necessary, but the dedication to customer care is definitely there!

I absolutely trust A-1 Custom Car to give me the best quality service at a fair price.I always deal with Mike who is always explains to me what needs to be done, what does not need to be done and what can wait to be done.I have referred many people to him and I have heard raving reviews even from them.

I went to St. Louis last weekend, due to an illness in my family, the oil service light came on in my car. I called Mike Burgess, in the Republic location, in a panic knowing I was going to go over a couple hundred miles. He was so caring in letting me know it would be ok. He told me he would get me in on Monday when I returned home with no problem. I dropped my car off before working hours and proceeded in calling him when I knew they would be open. I was unsure as to if I would need to turn around and head back to St. Louis at anytime during the day and wondered if he had any idea when it might be done. He once again took a stress off of me letting me know he would have it done ASAP and it would be ready to go. He called back not long after we hung up letting me know the oil was changed and ready to be picked up. My dad passed away the next day. The care and compassion he had on my situation is above and beyond words.

They did a great job on my Hummer H3. I will refer them to everyone. My Hummer drives better than before. Mike was so friendly and answered all my questions. First time I went to a repair shop and felt appreciated and knowing my car will be fixed completely. I will definitely be back. Thank you guys so much!

My mom and I have been customers with the A-1 shop in Republic for about four years now. The staff is knowledgeable, personable, and the only people I would trust to help me out with my cars. These fine people have helped me out numerous times and I dont think I could ever thank them enough! I just recently purchased a newer Mustang and didnt feel completely comfortable until I got their approval on the car! A-1 is the best I will continue to go there and recommend them to everyone I know!

I have used A 1 for years. They have always been very professional. They dont always tell you what you want to hear but I trust them to give me a honest opinion of service required and at an honest price. They are not the most convenient for me but I will drive the extra distance for the service they provide.

My wife and I were halfway through a 3 hour drive to Arkansas when a wheel nearly came off of our truck. We just happened to be near A-1 and pulled in for some help. The staff greeted us with a smile and were very helpful. Although we needed several parts, they had us back up and running within 1day. Excellent service and great work. They offered us waters while we waited and sent us to a great restaurant right down the road.

It was a pleasure to work with Mike and the A-1 team! I came in for a pre-purchase inspection of a car that I was looking at buying, and not only was Mike knowledgeable and efficient in his inspection, but I was treated as if I were a long-time, loyal customer. He also gave me some insider information regarding the car I was looking at, as hed had one for several years. He was personable, yet professional and I greatly valued what he had to say. Overall, a great experience! We will most definitely be back! Im more than willing to make the 30 minute trip to support A-1 and get the exceptional customer service from this team.

Great place to go! They seem to be very honest, and reasonably priced. Very friendly and even for a Saturday they are very quick! Ever since the first time I came here I wont go anywhere else.

I like making an appointment knowing exactly when to arrive and when my car will be done with. Tried to convince me I needed a new turpentine belt and come to find out my local mechanic had just replaced the belt 2 weeks prior. They try and sell stuff you dont need. I would get a second opinion before handing them any extra money besides what you originally brought your car to them for. Should be illegal doing this to people who can barely afford an oil change alone.

Would not recommend to anybody way over priced wouldnt sale me a muffler instead Insisted on them putting it on for twice as much as the Competition

I have been there numerous times and tried to get an inspection. Seem to never have time but there is nobody waiting, employees standing around and open work bays. It takes maybe 10 minutes to do an inspection. They just don’t make enough money off of an inspection so not worth their time. Horrible customer service.

Thus far have had A1 work on my 1964 Chevy Nova, my 2011 Suzuki Equator, and my Baby,,,most recently My 2016 Dodge Charger Hellcat. They did my exhaust work on my Hellcat. I have to say I was shocked as to how fast they were, as well as very professional. They got me in & out in about 45 minutes. These guys really are just good ole boys. They talk to you with respect, decency and make you feel at home. I would send any of my family to them. Thanks Mike and I’m sorry I don’t remember the guys name that took such good care of me….😳

The manager Told me $150 to put 2 mufflers on and when i got there he said $320

Had to have an interlock device installed on my vehicle, so needless to say not in a great mood to begin with. After a couple twists and turns the folks at A-1 were there every step of the way. Highly recommend them for this service!

It was a pretty expensive repair I had done and I didnt want to have to worry about it again anytime soon. Thats why, for me, its worth a little extra money now because I know A1 stands behind their 3/36 warranty.

A-1 Custom Muffler & Brake installed new rotors and front brake pads on my van. Their price was the best! They also let me see the work they had done. The manager also showed me other concerns with my van, and he was realistic about the costs and when items needed to be replaced. The receptionist is also really nice. I trust this place!

I came in on a Saturday without an appointment to have my AC checked out. The facility is very clean and the staff is very hospitable. Todd, the manager, came and discussed the diagnosis and was very kind and informative. We are engaging them to do the work.

They were very friendly, completed the work quickly, did quality work, and as far as cost for auto work goes the price seemed to be reasonable.

Had a state inspection done today on my vehicle. Only took about 20 minutes.

My husband took his car here to be inspected, when it failed for brakes, they did not guilt us when I insisted on taking the car to my existing trusted repair shop. Then when I brought the car back to A-1 to reinspect, they were very courteous and quickly verified the repairs and signed off. I will be sure to be back.

I have had multiple services done at A1, including inspection, a tune up, timing belt replacement, and distributor replacement. Now my car is running fine, and I intend to return when my car breaks down again. The results are great and all the people there are friendly and experienced. I would definitely recommend A1 Custom.

Ive been getting my oil changed at A-1 for the past couple of years now and cant remember a time that wasnt above satisfactory. On top of always getting the job done quickly, the staff also doesnt hesitate to show me some concerns theyve found on my car and some suggestions of what can be done, while never pressuring me to to get the work done at that moment or spend more money. Very friendly staff and thankfully open on Saturdays for those that work 8-5 through the week.

I recently got an oil change and state inspection done here. The staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable. I was in and out of there in approximately 30 minutes. I would consider going back for any future car repair needs.

This last winter, my car slid off the road during a snow storm. A-1 was the closest repair shop because I had done some damage. They fixed the problems the same day and even offered to help me get home with my infant son while they repaired the car. I was impressed with the level of personalization they provided. We had been burned by other shops in the past but this shop has been nothing but honest.

They charged me for a check up and oil change and the estimate they gave me was outrageous . when i had somebody else check it, the problem was completely different and my runs awesome now!!!

If I could give zero stars I would. My husband called to ask about getting a second opinion and estimate on my daughters car. They told him to just take it to the place we got the first estimate at because thats probably how much it would cost to have them repair it. They obviously dont want our business. My guess is they dont want yours either.

I was a bit disappointed in this place because I was there for over an hour. The delay was because they couldnt figure out how to reset the oil light on my car.

Went in late on a Saturday and A1 was open and willing to do a State inspection for my son. We were happy enough about it to let a friend know and he came over for his state inspection too!

Bent a tie rod from brakes locking up in snow bought another tie rod and just needed them to take the bent one off which they had to cut which would make it easier and put the new one back on i paid for no parts just the labor to replace a simple tie rod was 160 bucks what a rip off i just go to tailpipers in billings now their always fast courteous and alot cheaper then any shop in republic.
