Took an Axis A20 in to replace a motor. Great with keeping us in the loop on the repairs, and did a great job sourcing the parts as quick as possible with the current delays and shortages.
Great job working on my boat very happy with the job they did on my outboard. I took the boat to them on Saturday and they had it done on Monday morning. Just took it out and it runs really good. Michael seems to be a really good guy and very upfront with what needs to be done. I would recommend this business if you need boat work.
Beware....this business doesnt have a clue when it comes to customer service. Was treated rudely by an arrogant, dont want to be bothered, dont need your business kind of individual. They say they specialize in old boats and motors...but without even letting me fully explain what I had and need....he just interrupts and says cant help you, just buy a new motor. Well buddy, you can rest assured Im going to share with everyone I can that you cant be bothered and dont need any new business.Youre getting one star, because no star isnt an option.

We love Ohio Boat Works! Finding this team was a blessing! When we first met we brought our boat to them to fix our throttle linkage. We had a so-called boat mechanic near Buckeye Lake replace the throttle cable and could not get it right nor safe after 4 attempts. Trying to find anyone that would work on a true inboard boat was impossible and then we stumbled on this website through an internet search. As soon as we met Mike I knew this was a guy I could trust with my baby! They got the throttle linkage adjusted perfect. They then made me a custom cover with the snaps in the rub rail to be as non-intrusive to the factory design of the boat and not drilling any holes in the fiberglass. After that I wanted them to install a killer stereo system but did not want any of the factory interior compromised. I was also on a strict time schedule. They came up with and designed me custom speaker panels, amplifiers mounting board, a subwoofer box and panel to mount the stereo control unit next to my throttle lever. Mike stayed in constant contact with me via email. I bet we emailed at least 50 to 75 times. He was making sure that everything was moving forward to my liking and in a timely manner. He was upfront and honest and very fair with his pricing. Multiple times telling me I was trying to overspend where I did not need to. Amazing job, and everything looks as though it came that way from the factory back in 1986. This boat is in immaculate condition and will never see the hands of anyone but Mike and his team! These guys can do it all from fiberglass repair, mechanical repairs, covers, stereos, upholstery, to complete rebuilds from the “water up”! Our family recommends anyone with a boat to use this team for any and all your needs. You will not be disappointed. We are getting ready to take it back to them soon to have it winterized and shrink wrapped till next season! I have read other negative reviews that do not match any of the experiences that we have ever had with this team.
Mike has taken care of several boats for me over more than 10 years. Always upfront and discusses all options and makes me aware of potential problems/costs. The quality of the work is good and the price reasonable.
MOST DISRESPECTFUL PERSON I HAVE EVER TALKED TO, Met with a what do you want ? Now this is a refurbish shop but on a day of 80 plus and having copd I locked by accident my keys in my car,along with my oxygen being in my car also, So I ask if he had a coat hanger and screwdriver I could use, As and waited for a answer when he yelled at his kid to hold a part the right way, he looked up at me and said I told you I dont have any thing to help you except a 6 inch piece of rusty wire ha ging on a rusted hoist outside REALLY. I suggest you call some one..As tools and boxes was all in the workbay..as he left 30in later he suggested to go next door to a used car lot, he seemed he did not want me on his lot period.Will never refer this place so steer clear,, you would think his parents tought him better but he must be a mom and dad gives him what he needs and his old was busy with headphones blasting and looking off in space.
