What a fun place to explore. Everything from bagged spices to spices in containers to fabulous desserts and roasted chickpeas. We checked out all the aisles and discovered new foods everywhere. There’s home products, too, like knives, frying pans, and electric cookware. We’ll be going back when we need spices.
Buffet with a diverse selection of items. The meats and stews were amazing! The fish was so-so. All of the sides and salads were freshly made as were the grilled chicken and kebabs. The lamb shanks were delicious! Very friendly staff that were eager to greet me and provide a meal. Totally recommend to those who might enjoy something a little exotic. Definitely will return.
I usually dont write reviews, but I was so impressed by Shahrzad Mediterranean that I just had to! From customer service to the many, many, many items on the buffet to the many varieties of cuisines, this place is amazing! Youre in the mood for Mediterranean? Look no further, because theyve got it all. The food was so fresh and delicious and Everything looked so tempting from the moment we walked in, you could smell the aroma of all of the foods. First time visiting with the family, but definitely wont be the last! MUST-TRY! One of the best halal buffets in town with best ambiance.
I came here for the weekday lunch buffet and it was amazing. Highlights include lamb shank and the yellow pudding desert. A server behind the buffet counter will serve you and it is not self-served. This place/buffet is not heavily advertised so it is a hidden gem. They have buffet for dinner and weekends per server. I definitely will come back again!!! Thank you!!
The shop has literally everything that a Persian will need. The prices are affordable. The staffs are nice. The buffet is good based on its price.I will definitely go back.
Enjoyed the clean and spacious dining area. The Mediterranean buffet food was warm, not cold for the warm food and cold for the cold food. Very delicious and well appointed options. The Turkish coffee was superb. The owner and wait staff and waterboy were friendly and polite.
You are required to wear masks, and they provide gloves that you must wear to serve yourself at the buffet. Owner and staff were friendly and welcoming.Every dish from the buffet was made fresh and was extremely tasty. Thanks for the great food, service, and overall experience. Will definitely visit again.
Love this place! The staffs have been amazing. friendly, attentive and accommodating.I have patronized Persian Markets and Restaurants in East, West and Mid-West of the United States and have not witnessed quality products, foods and customer services offered here at Shahrzad. I have respect for all other Persian businesses but my go to place is Shahrzad. The Buffett is generous with variety food, healthy and fresh. The prices at market is competitive.
Shahrazad restaurant and market are perfect places for both eating and shopping. I had eaten from restaurant many times. Always they have delicious and fresh food. The food taste pleasant. The place is clean and have beautiful atmosphere, music always on. The stuff and owner care about customers and have great hospitality. I like the place and I recommend it for every body to try Persian food.
The restaurant buffet is quite good with a variety of buffet items, and the quality is also pretty decent. The store has a lots of options to choose from, but some of their items are past due expiration date and I bought one of them. Granted it was only sugar cube, and I decided to keep it instead of returning it, but still you would not expect expired items for sale in a family-owned business.
We bought food last night from this restaurant lamb shank and fasenjan was a Teribble terrible taste tasted like food dropped it was sour so gross in taste we were there all the way from frisco. When i called and asked for the refund they said they cannot give those two items refund what a pathetic customer service who dont know how to talk to a customer such a bad experience
I have been shopping here since it opened and love the store but not happy with them not reinforcing masks inside their store when it’s required in Dallas county.
I went in for their dinner buffet and was disappointed by the freshness and quality of the food. The lamb shanks had no meat on the bone and were cold. The chicken stew was also cold and not at all fresh. The only good meat available was the kebab which was cooked well and hot and fresh due to the amount of people eating from it. I’m disappointed that they weren’t keeping up with the demand for the other foods available and ran out of a lot of the food on the buffet. The buffet also didn’t come with drinks so we were charged extra for drinks and when I asked for a refill he gave me a cup that was filled to the rim with ice—my first cup of soda barely had any ice.I was full but also very disappointed by the food.
It was clean orderly and pleasant. The stuff which needed to kept warm was a little too neglected though. Overall not too bad.
Best food ever that I have eaten in Plano! And the staff were friendly and the food was really clean! I recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants to try it! Tasty 😋!
This place is always dirty, unorganized, and expensive. I bought a bunch of reddish and they charged me $1.99 and when I got home it was rotted. Hire someone to remove the rotted fruits and vegetables, organize the shelves, and clean the place. Also if your prices are more competitive, you get more business.
As supportive Iranian, I have always tried to shop family owned establishments, this so called buffet is a joke, every time I took my guest or family members there, I was embarrassed due to lack of items on buffet table, or dried out items . They don’t even bother to change containers often to make it appear more fresh .Normally I am happy with what is available on buffet table and do not complain . More than 15-20 times I received poor service here but tried to be supportive and give them another chance .Today, when I saw owner by buffet table, I asked him why there is no kabob, chicken or fish, all containers are empty or dried out ?He replied rudely, we work very hard and you have no understanding of how hard it is to be working in hot kitchen . While I had worked 13 years in restaurant industry from server and cook up to district management . Therefore I have immense respect and understanding for all hard working staff . However I had never seen any body disrespect a customer for asking if they will refill food on the buffet table . The management is very poor and that is why the turn over staff is so high . You never see a server last more than a month there . So poor food, poor service, overwhelmed employees. That is what you can expect .
It was my first time I went to this place for some grocery. First of all they are too expensive so avoid them. Second they charged me for an item I did not buy meaning they tried to rob me. I realized it when I drove back home and looked at the receipt and drove back and asked for my money and they payed me back. Be ware of this place when you go for shopping. Also I went to the restaurant and there was not a lot of choices in the buffet. Their fish was not fresh (who knows maybe from last one or two days) and their koobideh and tomato kebabs was not cooked enough. But their ghormeh sabzi was good. I also tried their must o moosir which was good also. You can find better Iranian restaurants around Dallas. In general I do not recommend these two places.
Customer service is very good,Feels like everyone upthere are very passionate about their job. Apart from the service they do have a very unique presentation of the store, Barbari style bread, Chicken Nuggets and Chicken wings were quite very well flavored. Amazed by low priced chicken but few stuffare very high priced. Overall Great Store. Worth going back. Check for the pictures below.
It’s expensive and not worth the price. The salads were bad, the lamb shank had no meat, it was just bones. The fish was all eaten, just bones. It looked like it’d been sitting for a few days. The grilled chicken was undercooked. There was no bread, no fruits, and only two kinds of desserts. We paid $18 + drink for just rice that was old and dry. All the food was old. We did not get our money’s worth at all!! It isn’t a buffet when there’s barely a couple items. I regret taking my dad for Father’s Day here. Do not go, will not return.
My wife and I live in Argyle and we have been shopping at Shahrzad for at least five years and have been overall satisfied without complaints. This Saturday was an exception; my wife bought a small number of items totaling $32.75. When she drove back to the house she discovered a mistake on the receipt, there was a overcharge of $110.26. She returned the following day to show them their mistake; to their credit they refunded her the $110.26 but their attitude was nonchalant and they showed little remorse; and for all the grief it cost us they should have at least offered her a small token item without charge as a sign of apology and goodwill . We will continue to shop there since we can only find certain items at that store; but this experience has left us disappointed and their reputation tarnished in our eyes. 😒😒😒
TheFood is delicious !! The people are very courtesy and I love to eat the fresh kabob!!’ The grocery store is amazing and have the best fruits and the delicious bread!! Love love it
This place is quaint but amazing. Their Kebobs are wonderful especially the salmon. Highly recommend eating here
Too expensive for the kind of food quality, and the owner cheap af I saw him treating employees like trash, getting richer, bad experience in this restaurant
Prices goes up and quality get lower and lower. I hope they realize that.
I visited Shahrzad last friday with my friend and a bunch of other like minded people that I met through meetup. I liked the chicken kebabs, fish, saffron rice, salads, especially Masto Mosir (yogurt) with persian bread was excellent and in dessert I loved their rice pudding. And not to forget the Persian hot tea, it was amazing after a full meal. Good & clean ambiance, friendly staff and fair pricing. There is a walk in door to the groceries store from the restaurant and you can buy all spices, herbs and fresh groceries there. I highly recommend this place. I would definitely go back for more on different days.
Every time we pass Dallas this is a must go stop for us. Great food and service . Buffet has plenty of options from Kababs to lovely other Persian foods to different types of salads, dessert etcThis place is great and owner is so courteous that walks around all tables and make sure you happy with the meal.
Worth every penny, quality 👌
Excellent staff and variety of Persian and middle eastern products.
My son and I used to come here often for family dinners. We were usually served by Dean, who doted on my son and always ordered him fresh meats off the grill. This is a great family friendly place. Highly recommend. We would usually head to the other side where there is a fresh market with Persian treats and lavash!
I’ve been coming here especially to buy meat, their meat used to be great, price and quality, last six months or more their quality dropped down, great people used to work at the meat department but every one in a while there is new people and quality keeps dropping. I gave it one more shot lately and sadly nothing improved, decided to stop shopping here after 5 years of business. I’m very disappointed that my favorite place isn’t improving no more, still struggling to find great halal quality around
This place charge you for the items you didnt purchase. Always double check your receipts before you leave. It happens to me almost every time I go there. Just be aware.
The food is good and the owner is nice but I had a bad experience few months ago with the Iranian lady server she was rude and not attentive at all and she charged my daughter almost $9 who is not even 3 yetSo I thought everyone has bad days and gave it another chance last weekend and same lady served us unfortunately this time was worse then the last one, she has a lot of attitude she treats you like your eating for free there. She charged my daughter again after reassuring me they won’t next time. It’s sad to say that I won’t be returning anytime soon.
Fantastic buffet with high quality food and a variety of choices. I couldnt enjoy Persian food more. Great service.
At first I was confused because the main entrance leads to a grocery store so I thought Google Maps had bamboozled me - but the restaurant is connected to it lol. The buffet is an excellent value if you’re a fan of Iranian/Middle Eastern food. The one waiter working was a little flippant but I’ll just chalk that up to having a long day/not being able to understand me fully. The cook, a tall Hispanic guy(?), was super accommodating/welcoming/nice. He made sure I was satisfied and wanted to show me everything they offered. Would definitely come back (I do wish they had some sort of bread offered there though so I could dip it in the hummus).
Food was not good at all. It was cold and the service of the Resturant is terrible. Worst experience in Dallas so far. Save ur time and money and go somewhere else. I did not even eat half of my only place and paid $40 for some cold food.
OMG people whoever been here please check your bank accounts they Are thieves they steal money. I been here with my sister and two babies 1 year old and 2 year old they’re food was so worst that my kids didn’t eat anything and when we was done no one was there to bring the bill and when we asked them they finally did and charge my 2 year old for buffet also, after one week I happened to check my account and I see an another transaction that I did not remember I did from there at all. I wish there was option for -zero star
Alim provided great customer service and he was a good waiter I saw in middle eastern cousin and their food is great especially the rice is very delicious.
This place has the best turkey breast for cold cuts. super high quality, no preservatives. I had at lease 40+ brands of turkey breast and this one is easily the best. I actually drive quite a ways to come here just for the turkey. I also like that they have ara z lavish bread which is my favorite for sandwiches. they also have a lot of hard to find middle eastern food that you cant get anywhere else
I’m giving 3 stars ONLY because the food was delicious, the customer service on the other hand was lacking greatly.I came in to place a to-go order and the manager/owner was dismissive and rude despite me ordering $150 worth of food. He told me I needed to read him everything off my list and pronounce it correctly and backed off only once I told him I was Persian and was very capable of communicating my order. I was told it would be a 15 minute wait so I picked up some groceries and when I came back (after almost 40 minutes) I had to wait an additional 15 minutes because they hadn’t even begun to pack it up yet. Keep in mind it was 3 pm on a Sunday and there was hardly anyone there so they couldn’t have been busy. The waiter who packed it up was confused and almost forgot 2 sides of polo, and checked my receipt 3+ times because he had no idea what was supposed to be in the order. As for the food, it was good but I don’t know if I’ll be back after the poor service.
Very very tasty, very soft kebabs.Very clean. Highly recommended, wont be disappointed.
Excellent food and friendly atmosphere . Met the owner and he was very Hospital . We were offered free delicious tea and deserts. Will go back soon again for the buffet.
Every single time we go here we are not happy with something once we got sausage/Meat it was old and had color change also the taste was gross and so we had to throw it all away. Yesterday we bought bread and when we brought it home we saw molds on so we throw that away too but yet this store never learns.
This place used to offer high quality products . It’s not the same anymore. Shelves are full of expired items with no price tags on them. This is disrespectful towards people who shop there . Hopefully management will take this matter seriously and offer better service .
Picked up some tabbouleh and baba ganoush to go. DELICIOUS food and kind service. Will be back
The food was good, but it was very expensive. I got a buffet service and a glass of iced tea, and it was 24 bucks. That makes no sense. The buffet was very limited, as others have noted here. Also like others have noted here, the staff was strange - bipolar, almost. Very polite and quick to work one second, yet when I gave the waitress back the check before leaving, she said nothing. I thanked her, and she said nothing to me, but talked to the manager, who also said nothing and continued talking to her. They were each a foot away from me. It was very strange. I tipped well, too!I just looked through some reviews and a lot of them say the same thing: the staff is socially off and somewhat rude. Nice to see its not personal, but still. If youre going to run a business, being good to your customers should be the first checkbox on the list.Very strange experience. I cant say the food was bad, though.
Theres many similar stores in Metroplex, but this one is on the top of the scale, the store is big, but clean, has a 50 or more kinds of breads, pitas, lavash and frozen whraps and dough. The frozen section has a number of Mediterranean delicacies, from burek, shish kebab, Adana kebab to a well known desserts like baklava and kadaifi! A place, if you like tasty and healthy foods, you must visit. Also, the service is quick, professional and done with respect to the customer. A place, I will visit again and again!
The best kabobs Ive ever eaten! Absolutely amazing and everyone was so nice at this buffet style restaurant. Bring a mask and they provide gloves 💛
Good food but worst customer service ever. Our server Kimya was not attentive. We were waiting for over 30 minutes for her to bring water and she didn’t so I had to ask someone else for water. We had to ask for water, refill, check... She charged my 3 year old daughter and 3 year old niece $8.50 each. On top of that she had the audacity to charge us gratuity for 2 adults and 2 3 year old kids. This same incident happened couple months ago and she said it’s ok we won’t charge the kids next time. Back then my daughter was not even 3 yet. They are not supposed to be charged anyway. This is the only place I know who charges under 3 year old kid. On the receipt it says party of 2 but got charged for party of 4 and gratuity on top. $57.87 for 2 adult buffet!!! Bad experience!
The owner is a crook. Nothing is fresh in this place. Go to shandiz or haji in plano .Any place is better than here.
Good food / product for a great price! Herbs here are super cheap. Basil, mint etc, all are good quality / good price.Bags of rice are a good price too! Friendly staff and attentive. Will definitely come back
The restruants food is expensive the cooks were rude. Most of the food is leftover the there is a long line for the kabab and when you get the kabab you only get half of the kabab because the chef cuts it in half before you put it on your plate.
Been going to this place for 5 years. Last time. They changed their cooks and the food is no longer authentic. Meats cooked Mexican style and the yogurt sauces were soured beyond edible. Complained to the owner who was always pleasant and he basically walked away and sat down. So we walked out. Longer story but thatll do. :/Wont be sending anyone else way in the years ahead.
Groceries are fresh and always good quality
I have ordered kobideh Kobab and received chicken.
Cornish hen was severely undercooked. Red on the inside. Side items were missing.
First time I rate any place I go to. This is by far the worse customer service there is. The Arab girl who is a waitress was very rude and disrespectful. She jokes with customers like they are her friends. Very bad service
The most authentic Persian food in the area. Very fresh and very delicious. Owners are very friendly as well as the rest of the staff.
I ordered 5 skewers of koobideh and I only got 4! Cheap chefs dont even want to fulfill the order!
Great price and friendly staff.Yammy as always.Thank you.
I didnt eat alot because its not American food but what I did eat was good. Employees are friendly .
Fresh locally made Barbari bread! Need I say more? They also carry fresh fresh pita bread, Nan, and some I dont know the name of. There is a very good selection of groceries, including jams, sauces, meat, produce, rice, and frozen foods. There is also a restaurant, but I did not get to try that during this visit.
Worst place ever. The produce goes bad in 2 days. Pastries are overpriced. I suggest finding another place to go. I hope this place shuts down.
Terrible food it’s super dry ! & the waitresses are rude !
Very good customer service and a great place to shop if you are into foreign cuisine.
The food was good. Although it was a minimal buffet as opposed to the price of the buffet. They not only overcharge but they also enforce a tip fee even though it’s a self serving buffet. The customer service was horrible.
I never write a bad review, you can see for yourself, but it has been a while I am shopping here and an incident today reminded me of all the things that bothers me about this place.I bought a container of cream for 4.99 yesterday and when I got home I tasted it and it was bitter. Today, the cashier did not accept a return but a replacement. I was reluctant but I chose another brand which was 6.99. If there was any other places, for the sake of inconvenience theyd caused, they wouldnt charge me the extra dollars but the cashier at Shahrzad did. I am pretty sure I would have received a better treatment if I was not Iranian because I have seen themThe price that you see on the shelves is not the same that you are gonna be charged for, so be careful about that.Their prices are much higher than other places. If you can shop for you Mediterranean good elsewhere, Id recommend that you do.
The grocery store:All the times there is missing lable or product with wrong lable, no Sangak in stock ...Its just take some management effort to get this deal done for ever. The bakery it self is best in the metro. Definitely no replacement for it.
Absolutely delicious, friendly staff, fresh food. what more could you ask for?!
Fantastic service provided by the brother in Meat department. Happily complied with my request.
Not worth a 16/17$ buffet, besides the owner customer service was absolutely disgusting, asked for a lime and thats still coming.
Always fresh meat, fresh dill- prices are great! They sell my favorite chocolate MILKA- yum 🍫
The most disliked diner I can remember I visited sofar.........
The grocery prices are way higher compare to other stores and the customer service in the Resturant is horrible
Outstanding spot for tasty Persian food. Arrived at seven, it wasnt crowded. Ill return family next time. The bill was well within reason for the quality.
Great food! Loved it!
Worst store ever seen very expensive, the prices are not as shown, many items are expired specially the frozen stock, for restaurant, they used the things before spoiled, food not tasty at all.
Great Store, great selection, amazing service, well organized, nice and friendly staff, always staying positive all the time & good at keeping areas clean. The sections in the produce department, meat and bakery department are just outstanding. These folks are taking the risk daily to keep our fridges and pantries stocked,Really grateful to all Shahrzad employees and owners for doing vital work that leaves them exposed. Thank you for being open and offering such a great service despite the risks and fears during this difficult time.
Its always about the experience when you go to a restaurant . been coming here with my family for years now and I have to say that we always leave with great experience. The clean place and some of the authentic persain dishes are unbearable.
Persian food, mmm, quality stuff. Got there near six, it wasnt packed at all. Looking forward to returning with my friends. Bring your hunger - portions are large. Food is like a restaurant in Louisville I loved.
It was good service and good maintenance. It was good buffet for my family i hope stay good for the future .Thank you Shahrzad Mediterranean grill for everything🙏🙏🙏
Best midlle eastern shop and 2nd best buffet in Dallas.
I give it 5 stars because:1) Food is excellent.2) Price is fair.3) Food quality is consistent.
Love this place. Especially the Kashk e bademjan!
