If zero was an option I would have given Lakewinds a zero. 4:58 pm-no pizza at the hot bar-asked staff if they would make a pizza-nope-really? Hot bar open to 7pm. Come on Lakewinds hire people who will make pizza for the hot bar-it is not difficult to do. Pizza should always be at the hot bar

I went to inquire about their ownership as I am new the the neighborhood. The cashiers I spoke to where helpful, but not very knowledgeable about the owner benefits. One of the cashiers directed me to someone but wasn’t helpful in me gaining their attention. I stood at the customer service counter for quite sometime and no one was tending the counter, no one came by ether to see if I needed anything. I think the people in the front end saw me, and where just not interested in helping me for whatever reason. It got a very unwelcoming vibe and I may just keep driving across town to the other coop I’m an owner at.

Those is an ok co-op. They tend to have what I stop in for, and they have a great meat sale once in a while which is good for stocking a freezer. It feels small though, and more cashiers might help speed things along.

High quality produce and service.I would say that the selection is good, but most of the products are on the expensive end of the spectrum, which is unfortunate considering the co-op’s close proximity to low(er)-income housing. I understand that the co-op is likely focused on offering higher quality products, but I find it unfortunate that they do not carry some lower-price brands that are found at other local co-ops. It seems like the co-op is targeting the Edina demographic as opposed to a Richfield community that a significantly lower per capita income than our neighbors to the west.

Filed a complaint with their company for employees telling me deli meat was gluten free when it is not. I have a severe medical allergy related to gluten and was hospitalized multiple times over a few years related to this. Perhaps if they would train their floor staff as much as they do their marketing team then people wouldnt get sick from their food. Thank god I do not have full blown Celiacs Disease, I could have died from their carelessness.

Always love coming here to buy anything, sometimes the prices can blow you away with how comparable they are to other stores or even be way cheaper (and more expensive too). The quality is superb though and all the information of where certain local products come from are key. The discounted meat bin is always a must go to here.

I love Lakewinds, but today there were 2 checkout lines, 2 volunteers for each line, and one volunteer in each line was wearing a face shield only, with no mask. From the CDC: CDC does not recommend use of face shields .... as a substitute for masks because of a lack of evidence of their effectiveness to control the spread of the virus from the source for source control. Come on, Lakewinds - requiring volunteers to wear a mask is not a burden for them!

Love this place! So many great options packed into half the size of a Cub store. The meat is out of this world. Lamb in several forms, grass fed beef, fresh seafood, free range chicken, bison and pork aplenty. Produce is always well stocked and fresh. The one place I feel they could be better is baked goods. You will not find a donut (doughnut?) In the store. There are gluten free options and I feel theyve aligned to offer more for our friends with gluten intolerances than those of us who are fortunate enough to not worry about gluten. I dig it. Everyone deserves a treat now and then.

I switched from Fresh Thyme because they dont know how to have their customers social distance. You can get to produce in all directions and no one spaces out, people are rude. Its only monitored at checkout. People who shop Lakewinds are so very considerate of each other. My husband could die if he gets Covid from me if Im near people who are carriers and dont care. Lakewinds employees and visiting shoppers are amazing! I will never go anywhere else. Thanks Lakewinds!

Clean store, fresh product, helpful and knowledgeable staff, makes them arguably one of, if not the best grocery shopping experience in the Cities. You can get all sorts of ready made foods hot or cold, and they are especially known for their fresh house made pizza dough. Being from San Franciscos suburban county of Marin, Lakewinds reminds me of the popular Good Earth Natural Foods grocery store. I like Good Earth for its woody environment and quality groceries, but Lakewinds is better and an example of how Good Earth should be. By comparison, Lakewinds was quieter, shoppers were more smiley (rather than walking around making themselves look important with loud cell phone conversations), and my young cashier had no visible tattoos nor was wearing a nosering that belongs on a cow. She was also like a happy energetic kid unlike the Good Earth staff is basically pot-heads who think smoking pot is part of a good nutritional diet.

Grateful that I can get the member discount even though I am a member at a different coop, but my goodness, their cashiers always looks so unhappy. No smiles. No hellos. They ring me up, give me a cost, ask me if I want to round up, then ask if I want my receipt. Its really bizarre. I thought people who worked at coops were supposed to be cheerful, healthy folks. Smile, please, for goodness sake.

A much needed improvement to this neighborhood. Previously abandoned buildings now home to the newest and largest Lakewinds Co-Op. Ample parking and plenty of check-out on a busy Saturday.

Best grocery store. Hands down. I already loved the co-op but then yesterday they went above and beyond. I was on the way to get chicken soup with my sick toddler. He fell asleep in the car so I called and asked if I could pay ahead of time and drive up to pick up the soup so I didn’t have to wake him. Not only did they accommodate but they wouldn’t accept my payment either and said it was their treat for my sick kiddo. I was in tears with their sweet gesture. #lakewindscoop4life

Ive been to countless co-ops and this is by far my favorite. Im actually baffled how cheap their prices are. For instance, you can get a pack of 5 organic chicken sausages frozen for $5, a single serve organic grass-fed yogurt for $1.39, etc. They also have a robust vegan section with very good prices (i.e. A pack of 4 vegan sausages produced from a small family-owned business for $3.60). Good luck finding something comparable for cheaper at Cub Foods. I also love that you can get small portions in their deli. For instance, at Seward Food Co-op, Id have to spend a minimum of ~$5 for a bag of local string cheese when Im craving cheese. At Lakewinds, you can get a tiny bag of string cheese for as little as $1.25 (it came with 3 string cheeses in it) - a bargain for high-quality local string cheese if you ask me at ~$0.40 a piece. I also like their turkey bacon sandwich - you can get a small portion for only ~$3.40 and it fills me up, whereas other grocery stores, I have to spend a minimum of $5-6 for a large sandwich that I cant ever finish all. I like small portions because I dont end up wasting food and throwing it away. I just eat the right portions and always get it fresh.
