I always prefer going into Ace Hardware and to get parts needed for any of my house projects. They also have a nice fishing outdoor section.

I went in today to go grab some new heat lamp bulbs for my bathroom (around 5:20ish), I normally have a general Idea of where I wanna go so I started walking towards the light bulb section and had a couple employees take a look my way, eager to help me find whatever it was that I was looking for.I grabbed my pack of 2 heat bulbs (very reasonably priced as well) and went to check out. I would like to write my review for the cashier at the front, They were very friendly and asked me if I had found everything I was looking for and proceeded to ask if I had a Ace rewards, I thought I did, so I gave them my phone number, they pulled up the info and I had mentioned my name (being a name I dont really use anymore because Im Trans) and I think they noticed that then proceeded to ask if I wanted to change it. I was delighted to be asked and to have someone be so upfront and observant to the fact I may have been uncomfortable with that name.So they proceeded to changed my name on the account and changed my gender. I will continue to be coming to this Ace for all my future tool/home renovation purchases because of the warm, friendly, and most importantly trans accepting cashier. ☺️ (seriously thank you, it made me extremely happy)TLDR: Cashier was super Poggers 🤙

My husband and I went in for a few bolts for a project and then a mister we just bought kept clogging. We had to get it fixed for our ducks and other outside animals for the heat. Raymond helped us come up with a great idea and helped us til we got all the parts to change it up. He was super knowledgeable and friendly! Definitely awesome to have help ...last time we came in I walked out very livid thinking what a holes over in paint section! Was absolutely ignored while two male rude employees helped some girl they knew. I went and bought my $250 worth of house paint at Lowes. But Raymond made us want to come back....but if I see those two that ignored us Im leaving. They need to learn to treat customers better and not flirt with girls.Thank you Raymond for your help! We truly appreciate and the mister/ sprinkler works great!

Had what i couldnt get at Lowes (typical). A man helped me with my home irrigation questions. He was knowledgeable and very pleasant to talk to.

I’ve called two times trying to order some canning jars. They just say we’re busy can you hold. Twice I’ve held for ten minutes. The woman was rude saying we’re out and all I wanted to know is if they could be ordered from the warehouse.

So, Im done shopping at the Richland, WA Ace on Keene. I understand that people are concerned about COVID, but to be shamed for not wearing a mask by the manager, is something that will have me go to Home Depot in the future. Randy was rude even after I thanked him for his concern. he became even more rude. I left the store without saying anything else. I called the store back and Randy became even more rude. I stated some people have a medical reason not to wear a mask and he then followed with: why werent wearing a mask. I just told you!!!! instead of politely educating me on other options, he thought it best to try and shame me. besides the point it is against the law to ask me why I wasnt wearing a mask.so my best option, and anyone who reads this, is to go to Home Depot!! besides I have had issues with employees at this location not knowing much about what they carry or what it is for.

Always good service and just enough inventory to keep me away from bigger, less convenient places.

Two staff members not wearing masks at all at the Kennewick store. They didnt have advertised bird seed available. The Ace hardware in Richland on Keene Road was great. All staff wearing 😷 and they had bird seed as advertised.

Most of the time you can find what you need. The 2 ladies at the registers could use some customer service skills. Can wait in line for a bit to check out. Wont go out of my way to return.

Have the basics but there isnt much help if you cant find something, and the cashier is really slow. However, like I said they have the basics and a decent location.

My wife and I went in this morning and received the best help weve probably ever had at any store by Will. He was very helpful and friendly.After comparing prices they are within a couple dollars plus or minus from Walmart to Lowes depending on what you need.

The young man up front was very helpful to my wife and I and was very knowledgeable when it came to answering questions regarding our key to our 2016 Ford Mustang. He explained very well that it was a, chip key and explained to her and I what that meant and what needed to be done to get the key working in our vehicle. He was extremely polite throughout the entire interaction. He had tattoos on his arms and a piercing in his lip. I believe his name was Jared

Beware of return policy. Unable to return anything even if unused and in original packaging. I had purchased only 3 days ago. I was turned away due to no receipt :(They have no option to reverse lookup using Debit/Credit card like most places these days. Also no option for ‘lowest’ recent price value in store value.. nothing.I won’t be going to Ace anymore. Home Depot or Lowe’s it is. Unfortunate as I’ve been going there for years and so close to my house. ☹️*Update (8/20/20) - Thanks for the response. Ill give it a try. I still have it in the box in my garage.

I can’t believe that they now charge for popcorn. I use to shop here because they would give my kids free popcorn. It more expensive then going to home depot but as the kids enjoy the popcorn I was fine paying more for the item. Now that I have to buy the popcorn too I’m better off going to Home Depot and just buying them a snack there as it will be cheaper then just getting the item at ace

Shopping was going fine until I was approached by an employee asking me about signing a gun initiative. The employee was out in the store promoting it. It absolutely turned me off and I left the store.

Ace is usually good for the hey I need X now and dont want to hit Home Despotism type trip. Some things I cant find there, and the four buckets I bought recently probably would have been $5-10 cheaper (total) at Home Depot. The staff is always friendly tho and it is convenient not spending another 20 minutes driving farther and dealing with potentially more traffic.

Employees are very strict about enforcing mask rule.

Long wait for a place at a check out counter. One customer had a basket full of purchases and no other cashier was available for awhile. Most items are more expensive compared to Lowes or Home Depot. The convenience of a nearby location is comparable to the higher prices at convenience stores. But the difficulty entering and exiting this stores lot due to high speed traffic rushing around a blind curve only adds to the annoyance I feel shopping here. I seldom shop here.10 April 2020. Lines at Lowes are an hour long so I try Ace Hardware. Could not find all I need and prices 50% higher than Lowes for what I bought. Cashier was chatting with an employee at the register in front of me for about 5 minutes. No big deal until I step up, her smile disappears and I am a waste of her time. She then begins chatting with another cashier while I am being checked out. Then the two joke that they are both the store manager and they are going to close the store and go home.

I really like using Ace Hardware. Most of all its a smaller hardware store and its also conveniently located close to my neighborhood. Most of all the staff is extremely helpful and they actually walk with you when youre looking for something as opposed to The Big Box store that will just give you the aisle and a reference point.their pricing is very competitive compared to the big box hardware stores as well sometimes you can even find stuff thats cheaper or items that the other big box stores do not carry.Ace hardware is awesome !

I usually only go to the one on G-way as it is closer to my house but they were out of a primer I needed that was on sale, so they called this store and they saved 2 gallons for me. I forgot to ask that they shake it for me, but later when I opened it I realized they did. That was great of them.

Always so helpful. Air conditioning felt great today. Amazing General Store that seems to have just about everything Obviously its no big box store,. My only complaint was that their popcorn machine was down so we did not get a free bag of popcorn today. :-(

Ok, so I debated on saying something about this most of the day yesterday, and well, I think this is something that needs to be said and addressed by management. I was in yesterday morning shortly after the store had opened. I walked in and was greeted by a young man at the register. I then noticed another young man up from moving around some boxes. They asked me if I needed any assistance, I said that I was fine, and proceeded towards the fishing section. I was looking around, browsing, and I kept hearing the phone ring. The young man up front was asking the other young man up front to answer. And he was. The phone rang pretty consistently for about 5 or so minutes. Phone call after phone call. Well, after having the young man take about 3 or 4 separate calls, the gentleman up front asked him if he wanted to have what sounded like another employee take the call this time. The young man said yes. I think he just wanted to take a break from answering the phone for a second. I then heard the cashier say on a radio, So and so, can you take the phone? So and so is with a customer. I wont say names even though I heard clearly. I heard no radio response but I did hear shortly after, What? Hes not with a customer!, coming from around the corner from where I was shopping. Then, I heard someone grab a phone, and talk to someone, and then walk away. I didnt think much of it. What happened a few minutes later really shocked me to be honest. I was a few aisles over now, towards the plumbing area, but the store was mostly empty so I could hear what took place just fine. The person that answered the phone sounded like an older man and he walked up front and handed something to the cashier. The cashier said something I couldnt quite hear and then I heard the older man say, DONT F*CKING LIE TO ME MAN. Im not 100% sure what took place but I heard it loud and clear. Im not sure if he didnt know I was in the store but regardless, I dont think thats a, professional way to talk to another employee. I am not sure if the young man did lie about something, maybe that the other younger guy wasnt with a customer, but again, that isnt a way to talk to another employee during business hours. Or at all frankly. I finished up shopping and walked up front and the cashier looked a bit upset from the situation, but he checked me out okay. He was polite, and so was the other young man but because of what I overheard I wont be shopping there again. It was unprofessional. And uncalled for definitely. A shame one person can ruin a whole experience just like that with such unprofessionalism. Bummer because I Iive close by and I would like to support a locally owned business. Home Depot and Lowes will have my business now.

Needed an obscure plumbing part for a kitchen repair. The sales person I approached knew almost instantly what the part was and where to locate the replacement part.

Definitely providing the local flavor. Intentionally avoid the big box store vibe and often have the unique item, like scentsy wax melt replacement bulbs. Not available at Hobby Lobby, Walmart, or Home Depot.

Great place for tools and some hardware and such. Not as good of selection as the bigger stores (Lowes & Home Depot) but definitely worth checking out. They have Craftsman tools which is a big plus!

I dont shop at Walmart, Home Depot, or Lowes because I prefer a smaller hardware store. I buy all the stuff I use to keep my grass green and yard cleaned up. The prices are a little more than big box stores, but for me that is a fair trade off because you can get better customer service/experience.

As a customer, I am first priority. Employees can discuss the stores ad problems when someone is NOT trying to check out. Therefore, the cashier should be Greeting and Thanking the customer. I am paying her wages after all.

Everytime I go in there they are always helpful. I needed a drill bit for a project of mine and one of the workers talked with me for about 5-10 mins to figure out what drill bit I needed for the job plus some tips and tricks to do it. Overall I would consider checking here first before I ever tried home Depot or Lowes, if all 3 carried the item you need.

Theres a reason its called the helpful place! Large assortment of usable items that a homeowner actually needs (air filters, minor plumbing and electrical), helpful and friendly staff, and a hardware section that puts big box stores to shame!

Great customer service, I had an issue one time returning a hose real that worked fine but just a bad model. After arguing they eventually returned it. Other than that experience they have just about everything you need there. Christmas lights, cleaners, pellet stove fuel, tools, and kiddie pools in the summer.

My go-to place for nuts and bolts of home repair, especially if you want small quantities. The staff is helpful.

I needed an electrical adapter for my mother-in-laws new camper. The RV stores were closed since it was a Sunday. I went to the home improvement stores and the employees didnt have an idea as to what I was looking for.I called Ace Hardware on Keene and after a few minutes the item in question was located. I got there and was shown to the adapter which was exactly what I needed.

Selection is good. The service is not. For instance, I put a quantity of eight on a Bag it ... Price It item and I got charged for nine. I counted the number of items inside the bag again. She didnt count the number of items and my writing was clear. This kind of thing has happened before. Plus, items that are yellow tagged are not necessarily marked down. They forget to takes the tags off and will not honor the price.

Its a solid and quicker option than the big box retailers, but youll certainly pay a premium. Figure the same item will cost 15-20% more. We were helped right away by a friendly employee and got the hex wrenches thst we needed right away.This is a good quick option in a convenient location. Also, free popcorn at checkout took this from 3 stars to 4!

The manager here stole a chainsaw out of the back of my friends truck and refused to give it back calling both of us criminals and hanging up on me when I called to tell him I had purchased the saw Originally and given it to him. The manager was out right rude and hurled offenses and curse words at customers . The police had to come and demand the manager give my friend his saw back. And then he banned my friend from the store for life for making a big deal out of it. We looked at the surveillance footage from the people who did steal saws from them and it looked absolutely nothing like either one of us. Horrible. Will never return.

Consistently poor experience with the service and cashiers. Refusal to honor discounts received in mail and refusal to honor discounts on tags on the shelf. Id chalk it up to just a fluke, but its a regular problem with the store on Keene.
