Great experience with this place. I contacted them on the recommendation of a friend and they did not disappoint. They gave me great suggestions and eventually saved me thousands of dollars.

Quality service provided by a friendly staff, Im not big on referrals but this is one business l feel comfortable telling others about.

Two separate vehicles and two separate inspections. First one they tried to fail for windshield wipers, windshield wipers were purchased in same week. During second vehicle inspection, tech tried to fail for windshield wipers and sway bushings. Tech admitted to tearing wiper blades and outed a $200/hr labor fee plus parts for sway bushings. Took truck home, bought the parts and found nothing wrong with sway bushings. Took to another mechanic who found nothing wrong and passed the vehicle with no issue. Hillard’s will waste your time and waste your money and if you don’t know to check them then you wont know you’re getting ripped off. Even worse, when tech was called there was no apology and no fault to them.

They are going to try and price gouge you any chance they get. Fairly dishonest. There is a 100$ diagnostic test which you can get for free at autozone. (yes your prices are listed but you kept trying to push part replacements that didnt need to be replaced)

Ripped us off. Incorrectly diagnosed the problem, then fixed the wrong thing, which wasnt broken and didnt solve our issue. $700. I know my name isnt in your database, nonetheless this occurred.

Love this place. We take my old Van and my husbands bmw baby. We trust the place completely and never feel like we are getting ripped off. Response time is great

Hillard Automotive ALWAYS does right by me. I bought a minivan from Omar many years ago for 5k. I drove it 8 years and ended up selling it for 3k. It was the BEST vehicle I ever owed and NEVER caused me I minuets problem. Years later I came back with a car that I had taken to many shops and even the dealership for an issue that could not be fixed. They diagnosed and fixed it with no problem. Omar is the only staff member I know by name and hes SUPER smart. There is another guy there that is just as knowledgeable. Theres also a mechanic that spends a lot of time in the shop so I dont speak to him a whole lot BUT he is about his business because I know he does a lot of the work on my car. By far, these fellas are really a stand out group of guys.

I go to Hilliard Automotive to get my car fixed or get my inspections done and have received consistently great service for 4 years from Ronald. He has the best customer service and always goes above and beyond!

Theyve been taking care of my cars since I moved to the area. Ive found them to always be honest and fair. Many of the repairs theyve suggested have come with rocmmendations like fix it soon or youll regret it or it needs to be fixed, but it will wait a while if you dont have the money right now.I trust them to do the right thing when needed and make suggestions for things that cant wait.

Unrepeatable car dealership!Their cars have major issues. They fix them just enough to get you buy them, and after that, you deal with at least $1300 mechanical fix ( major component)I don’t recommend this place for buying car. Maybe changing oil at most.

I`m impress with the Customer Service and respond from Ronald!My problem was that car was idling very rough. Ronald walk the extra mile to ensure that the car was done on time and fixed correctly. This is my SHOP from now on!

FAST, TOP-NOTCH SERVICE!!I was referred to Hilliard Automotive by a good mechanic friend He was out of town and couldnt get to my repair. Ive had a few unpleasant experiences with shops in the past, but trusted my friends referral. I needed brake pads, rotors, oil change and inspection. The shop was promptly opened by 0730, when I arrived, and everyone was in full swing and in work mode, so I decided to take a chance and see if they could fit me in that day. They were able to get my vehicle repairs done that same day, and were reasonably priced, as well. Omar and his staff are nice and very professional. You can tell they take pride in their work by how clean the shop and lot are kept. Ill definitely go back to them for more work. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!Jody

As someone who doesnt know much about cars, I can say I trust Hilliard Automotive with my vehicle and all repair work. The owner is on site and all the mechanics are friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. They always call with updates on my needed repair work, offer various options and pricing, and are never pushy about what should be done on the car, but always are willing to offer their best professional opinion. My vehicle is always returned in better condition and in a timely manner. The owner and mechanics are always patient and willing to answer questions and address concerns. My family now takes their vehicles to Hilliard Automotive and are always happy with the service and repair work they receive!

Couple of other nearby places were too busy today to do my inspection, but Hilliard Automotive said come in at 3pm. Inspection was super quick and informative-- will come back for future repair/upkeep needs. Thanks guys!

Ive been going here for the past 12 years. Shops like this are hard to find. Very honest, very professional. If you dont need the work yet they let you know whats going on and give you options. Thats one of my favorite things about this place. With all the computers on these cars I dont do my own repairs anymore. Finding a trustworthy shop is hard.. Its great to have a place like this.

Cost more than expected but service was amazing.

I had just moved to Virginia and needed a vehicle inspection asap. This was the first place I reached out to that was willing to schedule an appointment with a days notice. When I came for my appointment my car was in the shop within 10 minutes and inspected before the hour was over. Turns out I needed new break pads. I had never had a full inspection before as Id been out of state and never needed one so I had no idea but Ronald took me to the shop and showed me my pads were basically worn to nothing, and showed me what new pads look like (not much of a car person). He offered to fix it that day even though itd take them close to closing time to finish, instead I scheduled for Friday. When I got there he gave me an honest assessment of the time itd take as they were running behind and my car was good to go sooner than I expected. Ive been to other auto shops that havent been even half as transparent as this place. Definitely coming back!

I am so glad to have found Hilliard Automotive. I use them for everything for my car. Brakes, oil changes, new batteries, suspension work, State inspections and even tires! They are reasonable, professional and fast. If a light on my dash comes on or a sensor warning goes off, I take it directly to Hilliard Auto! I have told family and friends to take their cars there as well. Five star service every-time.!!!

No hassle with fixing my truck, the technician found the problem and repaired the exhaust manifold bolts with no problem. These guys are the best auto technician out there.

I bought a car at Hillard Automotive and it was one of the worse decisions I made. After 12,000 miles and driving for only 2 years the cars transmission DIED. Definitely will not be buying anymore cars there. Another con is after buying the car there is a 30 day warranty. My tires had issues continuously during the 30 days and the sales rep response was to get a $50 tire from Walmart. So what was the point for a warranty in the first place if they werent going to do anything with the problems that continuously occurred? I went to another place in Gaithersburg which is one of the best mechanics Ive found who used to own his own dealership and owned the mechanic shop.

They have always taken good care of us, especially when it comes to safety. They will waste no time making sure everything is as it should be before you get back onto the road. Highly recommended.

Look, unless youre very picky about everything or expect to be pampered everywhere you go, theres only a couple things you should need of an automotive repair shop: Honesty and expertise. Thats what you get here.Dont expect a large parking lot or a customer waiting area though.

I have watched his business grow tremendously in the years he has been there and despite the growth, he still returns calls promptly and does exactly what he says he is going to do...and that is the hardest thing about a growing business. This is a very professional, honest, and quick automotive shop. I came here to get my inspection done after another shady car shop quoted my $600 in repairs. Hilliard Automotive passed me the first go round with out making me get any unnecessary repairs. Then they gave me good feed back about what to watch for since my car has high milage. I felt great leaving the shop and ill definitley go back.

Absolutely horrible experience with these people. Test drove a truck, wanted it, man said he would hold it 2 days until I could get off of work to come and get it. HE SHOOK MY HAND ON IT. said he would hold it. Day before picking up truck, bank called them for the info. Thats when they told the bank they had sold it. A crappy way of doing business!!! Now Im stuck without a vehicle again. Then WOULD NOT ANSWER MY CALLS!!! Had to text his cell before he would reply, I asked to speak to the owner. NOTHING!

This place is a joke. I came in for a state inspection. They said it would be a 2 hour wait. 4 hours later, they called and said it would be $190 to meet state standards. I took my car to another shop and was given an estimate of $56. Never going back.

Amazing service! Last Friday was the 2nd time I had work done at Hilliards and I couldnt be happier with the results. Had all 4 tires replaced and Omar was extremly helpful. This is the only place I will be bringing my car to get work done in the future.

Got a inspection it got rejected over nail in tire he told me what tire went got is changed, come back he said its the wrong tire so I went to tire shop got them to put one on the other side went back he said after 4 he dont do inspection had to come 8@ and its 10:30 and Im still waiting just give my sticker why are you rechecking it . Tf never coming back they look for you to spend money you cant just pay 16 dollars and go . They went you to have a issue never coming back . Being a young woman wy a vehicle is prejudiced against.

They fixed the car, and the place is relatively fast.

I have a going to them since they opened. They have taken care of my car, my fathers car, and now my sons car. I dont trust anyone else and theyre always good to my family.

They charge $90 an hour, are not ASE certified, and they overtorqued my wheel bearing and it went bad 2 months later.
