Today we went to get a new car for my fiances birthday. We had him thinking we were just going to look at a vehicle. Carlos Leal was our representative and one of the nicest and patient workers we have ever encountered. Carlos is different because he doesnt force you into buying a car; he lets you take your time and is willing to answer all questions. We bought our vehicle with a great rate! Carlos was able to work with what we had available and still was able to make the car affordable!!! If you ever need to get a vehicle from Hanlees in Richmond, PLEASE request for Carlos! I promise it will be the best experience ever! When it came time to square away the payments, we were given to Alex! This man here is one of the funniest and personable people ever! Just like Carlos, I loved his attitude from the start! Alex made the whole signing process a lot more fun! We appreciate both Carlos and Alex for all they have done!!!! One other little tip, they will deliver your vehicle depending on your location! Carlos was so nice to do so and I would definitely deal with him again!!!! Justin and Thai (the salesmen we worked with) were absolute joys to work with who were kind and honest through every step of the way. My girlfriend and I had had a horrific experience the day before at Marin Toyota where they tried to force $5,000 in extras onto us, but were treated with respect and honesty in every part of the process in the very best way. Gave us a great deal and didn’t BS for a single second, absolutely amazing experience.

We looked online and made an appointment at Hanlee in Richmond to look at a used car. We were helped by Justin who did a great job in selling us a Toyota Venza. It was used, but, looked new to us. The finance was done by Yoseph who did everything quickly and made the whole process quite easy. I understand what he was saying and he was very clear in his explanation. We found a price we could agree on and got a 5 year warranty that made sense for our budget. I was extremely happy with the experience. This is a no nonsense friendly atmosphere. I felt comfortable and well treated.

I was told my gap insurance reimbursement check was ready for me to pick up. I picked up my check and deposited it in my bank. A few days later the check was returned. Now Toyota wont return my calls after leaving several messages. Crooks!

The service department is very slow and the sellers are liar.When I purchased car and got tyre protection plan, they said it is applied to every toyota servicing centres. But when I got my tyre damaged and needed to replace it, I went to berkeley toyota service . They said it’s not applicable there. I had to go to Hilltop again. I reached there.They said ‘oh! you need appointment’ What is the sense of appointments if someone gets flat tyre and needs immediate replace or repair. I had to wait a whole day just to get tyre replaced with tyre protection plan canceling all hectic work schedules. Is this good service?!The seller said they applied for clean air vehicle decals for my plugin hybrid but I have not got it yet until 5th month of purchase.They just say ‘sorry’. Is it worthful to recover my all day worth?!

The sales team had preapproved an offer for $12,155 and even claimed they would significantly beat that offer if I brought my truck in person to evaluate. They not only had the VIN number of my truck they also had full 360 photos and very good pictures on my interior. Upon driving 40 miles to the dealership and having the vehicle condition verified they offered me $10,000. That is a waste of my time and very disrespectful.Word of mouth goes a long way for any business and my words to anyone looking to buy, sell or service a car is to Avoid the Hanlees automotive group at all cost.

BEWARE: Sleazy salesmanship: The GSM conducted atrocious business practice and should be sued.After Van shopping for 4-6 months, my family and I traveled a good distance (70 miles) to this dealership under the guise of negotiable markup costs (for the Toyota Sienna). Due to the chip shortage, we understood the lack of inventory issue as well as dealer mark up, which is why we did our homework and called around. Hanlees Toyota Hilltop had the markup, but we were told to come in and they would work with us to bring it down considerably. Once we got in the door, we checked out the vehicle, and another to compare, and then talked numbers. We went through the negotiation portion and almost walked away, but the sales manager took our final offer and we were on our way to meet with the financing team.We agreed to pay cash price, however banks were closed and the dealership could not accept transactions larger than $5k. After 4 hours of our time, with 2 children under 3, we signed and finalized our contract with the arrangement suggested by the dealership: the van will be delivered to our address, and our check will be picked up at the same time. They offered for same night delivery, but my family was tired and hungry and decided to eat dinner before driving home. Thus, they arranged for the van to be delivered the following morning by 10 AM.By 9:50 AM the next morning, I received a call stating that someone offered 5K over our offer for OUR van, and unless we met that price, we were going to lose it since we didn’t put money down. We offered to put money down during the finance portion of our transaction, but the dealership said one check cut should be sufficient.***The GSM made the decision and was too coward to give us a call to tell us himself- we called multiple times and had no feedback whatsoever.They illegally breached our contract and sold our vehicle to someone else since payment was not secured. We learned our lesson for not pushing for a deposit regardless. But this is sleazy salesmanship and people should be aware.

Only reason why Im going here is because I live close by and free service until I hit $25. They dont give free carwash anymore because their machine is always broken. No shuttle service on the weekend. Definitely one of the worse toyota dealerships in the bay area as far as customer satisfaction goes.

I am trying to buy a new car. We agreed on a price for the car I want. Its not the salesman, hes fine. First, the manager talked down to me, which I dont appreciate. Their back-office has been dragging their feet for the past 7 days.I have a loan (check in hand) and the down payment. Ive been waiting a week. The salesman admitted today that the back office hasnt done a thing. I already got rid of my old car since Id made a commitment. Customer service here is a zero.

Great and friendly workers, just bought a tacoma trail edition a few days ago. Do becareful. For example when they say base price is 42k it will be an extra 12 to 13k add on to original price!!!!!! Do to popularity of the vehicle!!!!!! So it will be at least 60k for a vehicle that is worth 37k!!!!

The WORST car buying experience I have ever had. The sales people and management at this location are some of the most unprofessional I have come across. They lied to us about their inventory and had us drive an hour to get here with our small baby only to find out that they were shopping around trying to find it from other dealers. We asked for a manager and he said this process could take up to 5 hours and that is a common experience for other customers! What a joke. Dont waste your time with this dealership..

This place is not a deal or no deal type of place,, they will straight tell you they dont need your business or to lower price because they know what they have.We made an appt to see an suv..very ready to buy a brand new car but the experience really got us down. The guy we made an appointment w/ was not available so they pushed someone else on us which is fine... we talked about what we can do (how much finance,payment,down etc) every time we told him our plan he laughed and said it was not achievable. No deal was spoken about at all, they didnt even try to work with us. Made us fill out paperwork only to make us wait an hour while he supposedly worked out things with people in the back. We had to walk out on this. Terrible customer service specially when people are really looking forward to a great experience while buying their first new car. I advise anyone to go next door instead.

Being very happy with our current Toyota that has been a part of our family for 8 years, we are looking for a new model of the same. unfortunately for us, of all the dealers in the area, Hanlees Hilltop Toyota has the model, equipped with the features we are interested in.on the phone, the sales staff have been rude and deceptive. now they have called me back a number of times, and have stepped up their rudeness and have told us to leave them alone. it is unfortunate that the good name of Toyota is being marketed through Hanlees Hilltop Toyota.

We went to Hanlees because they were one of the few dealerships that would let you drive the car without a sale associate, to comply with social distancing. Juan was great. He was attentive and had a no pressure sales approach. Inside the dealership, many staff dont wear masks or they wear them below their nose. The bathrooms could be cleaner.

Told to wait in long line of cars.9:30 went in to complain about the wait9:45 was told to clam down because all these people gesturing to customers seated inside have waited an hour and a half. He said it like it is acceptable to make a 9:00 appointment and make you wait until 10:30. NOT ME.Dont be a sucker! Avoid this place and their disregard for their customers.Here is the line of cars AFTER 20 or 30 minutes of waiting. My appointment was at 9amWhy do they bother with the pretense of appointments? Clearly they have no intent to honor them. In fact Im not sure they understand the meaning of honor.

Just got the new 2020 Toyota Corolla nightshade edition, it is absolutely gorgeous! We are so happy. I really want to thank Will (internet sales) for going out of his way to make sure the process was seamless. He was very informative and took the time to answer all questions, really helped us get the deal we wanted within our budget. Hilltop was also one of the few dealerships in the Bay Area that had the nightshade edition. Love the fact there was no pressure, we came back for the car when we were ready. Pulled into the area for scheduled appointments (at my scheduled time), where I waited for some time, before anyone came outside.Then was instructed to go into an area for service. Once inside many employees had their masks around their chin (not properly covering their face) and no hand sanitizer in site. Then was told it would be a 3hour wait for an oil change, and there is a chair somewhere outside, and someone will call when its done. Then the employee got up and walked away.I waited 2.5hrs and NO oil change was done. When i asked how much longer, I was told there are still a couple of cars in front of me.DO NOT COME HEREIf they are not wearing masks over their face in front of customers, guaranteed they dont wear one touching the inside of your vehicle

Buyer beware! What started as a pleasant experience with salesperson, Sergio, who was responsive, polite, and professional, turned into the worst customer service experience I have ever been exposed to by the manager, Jerrico. He was manipulative, deceitful, rude, arrogant and mocking and turned what should have been an easy sale for a new vehicle, listed at $29K on the Toyota inventory web site, into a complicated, convoluted deal sneakily based on a $33K asking price, plus fees, taxes & other options for a total $40K+ sales offer. He told me he would NEVER sell the car to anyone for the price listed on Toyotas site and insinuated that I was lying about it. (For the record, I had called prior to driving 1.5 hour to the dealership, to confirm availability and listed price, which Sergio verbally confirmed, via phone and again, in person, after my test drives.) When I finally, politely declined to continue purchase discussions with Jerrico and started to walk away, he asked if I would purchase the vehicle right now if he based it on the $29K price. I said no, based on principal and the fact that he said he would NEVER sell it for that price & based on how he had treated me. As I walked away, he stood up, dramatically tore up the sales offer and, in front of multiple staff members, loudly mocked me by making a sign of the cross and shouting God bless you! ...I would have sold it to you at Invoice! Do yourself and society a good turn - when making a deal to spend your hard earned money on a purchase, choose to work with people who are polite, fair & worthy of your business.

I’m a proud owner of a Toyota Prius Prime. I schedule an oil change at the Toyota Hilltop. When approached for check in, Brad Reid was my service advisor.When Brad asked about what service we where getting done today? I responded “Oil change” He said “great”. Two minute after, he asked me “Do you want inspections too”? I respond “yes”, as if inspections was part of the routine, I thought.By the end of our conversation, Brad said“your total will be $492.00”I asked “is this for all inspections and for oil change”? He said “yes”, it’s an estimate. O.k, I walk away being told come back in 3 to 4 hours.I came back an hour later, my car was ready. Mmmm... I thought, “that’s was fast”. I checked my invoice with included taxes my invoice was totaling $512.78Little did I know Brad Reid added treatments and additives service charge of $395.00, I found out these are called” MOC products” these are not Toyota recommended products for a 45k mainance.I find it unfair for people that just want to an oil change to be slipped a service that was unesesserly. Secondly to Service advisor like Brad, to not communicated that the treatments and additives are not recommended by the manufacturers but are being used as part of a regular maintenance, which leads me to believe that fraudulent transactions is being done for profits.As a consumer we don’t need to over pay for services that are not required. I find this fraudulent and Auto dealers are getting away with it. I advice If your where part of a similar fraudulent transaction, please contact Department of consumers affairs.

After completing the formalities, the vehicle was parked outside the reception area for more than two hours without any care. I waited from 9am to 1pm and finally got my vehicle back. I called ahead and spoke with a sales rep (Zack) and informed him that I would like to come in to test drive a car (Toyota Supra). He said that he had one in the showroom and to come in and the prearranged time and ask for him and that I could test drive it.When I arrived, I founD Zack and he and another member of the team showed me the car, which I sat in to try out for a few minutes. When I said that I was ready to take it out for the test drive, they got nervous and said that theyd have to ask the general manager. I told them that Zack said on the phone that this was fine and to come in. He Claimed that by saying it was in the showroom over the phone, it was implied that it wouldnt be availabLe to test drive . I told him that he should have said that explicitly if that was the case before I spent 30 min to drive down to the dealership. The other sales rep said that I could drive the car no problem as long as I was ready to make a commitment to buy the car thus eliminating the point of the test drive altogether (not an unreasonable request in my opinion for a $60,000 purchase) . I told them that I wanted to drive the car as arranged and they said that they would have to get permission from the GM. While waiting over 10 minutes to hear back from the GM, they kept pressuring me to make a commitment to buy the car prior to test driving it. After hearing this several times and never seeing or hearing back from the GM, I told them that I was leaving and no longer interested in the car..Its worth noting that the car was a mid-range Supra, not some sort of limited edition or $100k+ car. You could walk in many other dealers and test drive more expensive or rare cars without getting an inquisition like I did. Also worth noting was the $9,000 dealer service fee added to the ticket over MSRP (I.e. Dealer markup of 15% above the vehicle price): yes, its one of those types of dealerships. Given The dishonesty, pressuring, and intended price gouging, Ill be looking elsewhere, wont be coming back to this dealer and would encourage you to Do the same unless this is the type dealership that you prefer to work with.

When a Salvadoran person (manager) and his partner (the seller) gave us information about the car we wanted to get, we made an offer of this car .. it was our first time wanting to get a new car, we were prepared with $ 10,000 dollars to negotiate for the downpayment and get the car ... when he addressed us he said ... that not even the president could get the car with the offer we asked for ... I think we had several ways to negotiate, he just got up from the table and he left.

Not recommended. If you must buy here do your thorough price research before you sign. Do not trust a single word coming out of sales agent, specifically guy name Brandon Nowakwoski. He is a liar. I was looking for a specific car, I called the dealer, Brandon said they dont have that particular one on stock but will give better deal on more advanced one. We went there, car wasnt my best choice but still decided to buy because he promised me best deal. When we started negotiation, first thing he said was we have 2 offers going on 1.9%APR or $1000 cash back but I will give you guys both. We were happy. Then he started negotiation by pricing the car almost $5000 higher than the posted price. I knew it because, I test drove the car and took a note of price on sticker on window. I also checked the price of the car on dealership website, price were about $500 different in window sticker and online. When I asked him, where he got the price from, he pretended like checking and changed the price to sticker price. Now imagine, what if I didnt check the price on sticker? When he brought me a offer, he also included the package for extended warranty what he calls Go Gas Only offer from Toyota. He told us that all I have to do is buy gas, everything else including scheduled maintenance and unforeseen damages are covered by that package until 125000 miles or 7 years. I was stupid enough to buy that. I still have to confirm that with Toyota, if that kind of package exist and If I got the right one. Of course the package was overpriced too, he reduced price a little after some negotiation. At the last minute we hesitantly agreed with deal, thinking that we are going to get $1000 cash back, which he promised us at the very beginning and also dont have to spend any money on car maintenances for 7 years or until 125000 miles. We signed the paperwork and came back home and did some price research and found out I overpaid the car. Next morning I tried to cancel the contract he denied us and forced us to bring car home. When I went through paperwork at home, I couldnt find anything about how to claim $1000 cash back. When I asked him, he said there is no cash back and told, he gave us about $4000 discount on car price. I was surprised. This guy was all fake. We barely got less than thousand total discount of listed price. I drove to the dealer and talked to the finance guy, he said he can not do anything about price. I talked to brnadon, he denied offering me $1000 cash back. I wish I recorded him. May be you guys should record them when you negotiate your car, think about it. I went to the dealer again to talk to the manager, but it was no help, it iwas just my words against him, manager decided to be on his emplyoees side. I didnt have any proof other than my words. Manager just gave me a number to call and file complaint. Waiting for CSS from Toyota. Frustrating. Never had this kind of experience before. I was honda user and should have stayed with honda. We just cant trust anyone these days. I learned my lesson the hard way. Suggestion for you guys, never buy a car on THIS dealership the first day you are there. Look at the car negotiate, come home do your research and decide. NO NO NO to same day car buying on this dealership, otherwise they will loot you. Thank you for reading.

I drove a hour to get to hilltop Toyota & I was given the most outstanding service when I went to get my car, I was helped by a Dennis and he made sure I had everything I need, I got everything for the best deal I believe. he really took care of me, and I appreciate the good service hilltop Toyota gave me, well Dennis gave me. Waited in line for an hour. Service writers never greeted or acknowledged on the wait time. Feels like they intentionally run skeleton crew during weekends. After service was completed, found that fluids weren’t topped off, oil dripping on skid plate from oil change, grease fittings not lubed, tires not adjusted even though it stated clearly on inspection sheet. Been to this stealership twice and I will never ever again make this mistake again. Honest businesses are hard to find these days.

Made an appointment for an oil change and tire rotation for a Saturday morning at 10 am. Got there. Waited 10 minutes. No one came out to advise me. Finally got an advisor, she entered the VIN number. Another owner came up. My cars VIN got tied to another owner. She asked if it was used or second hand. I told her Im the original owner. Then she told me to wait an hour and a half to two hours for the oil change and tire rotation.I would stay away from this place. They are bad at record keeping. And a simple oil change and tire rotation is just not worth the wait.Update: Ive been waiting for over 2 hours now. A simple oil change and tire rotation is over 2 hours. Its not worth it. They have lost me as a customer.Final Update: After waiting 3 hours and 27 minutes I finally got my car. But I am updating my review to 3 stars because I got comped for the oil change and tire rotation service.

Very poor customer service. I bought the car from them 6 months ago. And they offer me free tank of fuel and full car detail on my first service. Later on the service day Salesman “Jack” he said he never told me any offer. When I bought the car I asked them to gave me in written the offer they provide me. But salesperson told don’t worry i will take care for you. On the day I need those services he denied to do it. Very unprofessional work and making fals promise to the customer. Just to sell the car.On top of my service day they didn’t change any car fluids. I don’t have zero stars to give them. Very poor customer service. They never offer me next service appointment.

What was a great experience is turning into a negative one! We cant get a person to respond by call, text or email! We just bought a 2014 Toyota Tacoma on 8/25. We were told by our sales guy, Julio, to call him after labor day to schedule a very minor repair to the driver window control panel. Julio has been very unprofessional and refuses to help rectify this situation and THEY DONT ANSWER THEIR PHONE OR RESPOND TO EMAILS!

Hanlees Hilltop Toyota is fantastic! I was on my way to work, when my check tire air pressure light came on. I called their service department and they told me to come on in. Service representatives were so professional and friendly! I would especially like to acknowledge Edward Singh, who checked me in and assured me that everything would be OK, and he would do his best to get me out just in time for work (which he did!). I had a mixed sales experience here. The first sales rep was very helpful picking out a car, and working through options. Then it was time to talk price, and he fetched a more senior salesman. The second guy was a good negotiaor who was nominally helpful, but I couldnt shake the feeling he was trying to take advantage of me. I wish Id spent more time researching price ranges before going in.

This is a tough one to write. Normally I give them five stars, but their incompetence and refusal to help on Friday 6/10 was inexcusable. I came in before 8 to drop off my car for service. At ten BEFORE eight I saw the shuttle drive out with no passengers. By 8:40 there was still no driver to take customers toward Richmond, so I asked the cashier to call me a cab. She flat refused: we dont call cabs. Other customers who would also be late (normally shuttles leave about 8:05) were equally displeased at the couldnt care less attitude. I went to the showroom and one of the salesmen gladly called a cab. Just as the cab arrived, at about 8:45, the shuttle driver pulled in, also with no passengers. As there were several other customers needing rides, thereby screwing up any possibility of getting to work remotely close to time, I stuck with the cab.The work done on my car so far seems to be well done, but when a company claims to have a shuttle going out at 8:05, customers plan on it, depend on it. When the driver disappears and no one seems to care that customers are now in a bind, maybe I should try Oakland Toyota.

George Molina was helping me with a purchase and in process of getting a trade in value and the price for the new Rav4 the manager comes to the desk slams an offer for their vehicle and says Im not taking your trade in ( mint condition 2016 Toyota Camry ) either you buy mine or leave .We tell him were not accepting the offer ! He throws a fit and the threw the papers all over the place and told us to get out of there . Tells the salesperson, this is how its done now get to work .He needs anger management counseling .
