Premiere Costumes has a great variety of items that arent the super thin Halloween costume packages we all seem to default to these days. There are options in a range of fabrics and prices. I wish more people would stop in as this is truly a wonderful place. My husband bought a really cool mask while here. The proprietor is really helpful and so nice. She has costumes, makeup, masks including steam punk options, and accessories. Stop by before going to the big box stores.

Shopkeeper was knowledgeable, helpful, and personable. Got us exactly what we needed. Poor store has seen better days but its still a lovely local institution.

The people who work here are wonderful! They are knowledgeable and friendly. Any time we have asked for advice and then followed their advice it has been spot on and the make up was successful! My daughter is in high school and they have provided her with some great resources for doing make up in the school theatre company. I would highly recommend Premiere for costumes and makeup! (I even bought things I needed for my kids when they were in elementary school and had to dress like famous people from history. So we have been dealing with them for many years now and can truly recommend them from experience!)

Premiere Costumes is a Richmond staple. The staff is always very professional and willing to help. They have a great selection and will even assist you with putting a costume together. The lady behind the counter searched Google to help me make sure my look was accurate. Love them!

Sold me a necklace missing one of the gems, wouldnt exchange for the same one thats not broken( it was really difficult to tell a stone was missing in store, didnt notice till I put it on). Also wouldnt accept a return on something very clearly never opened. People were nice but Ill never go back. Get better policies or die out completely due to situations like this. Oh also, NEVER mentioned the return policy to me once.

We were going to a masquerade party and needed costumes and face masks. I found Premiere Costumes through a Google search and decided to go and see what they had to offer. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. I wish I had asked his name, but a guy who works there is an absolute treasure. His knowledge of makeup is amazing, he is the most knowledgeable person regarding makeup I have ever talked to and makeup has been a hobby of mine all my life. He has a vast knowledge of all makeup bases, pigments and application. He even talked about how to make the various bases for all the makeup and nail polish we buy at makeup counters at department stores. He could easily start teaching a class!He was also very creative as in matter of minutes he turned a very simple mask into a work of art with feathers for my husband. We walked out having purchased exactly what we had gone in for and with a wealth of information about the foundations of makeup!

An out right staple of Cary Town, this place is the best local place to go if you need costume/cosplay supplies or advise.They carry wigs, professional makeup, masks, wings, masquerade masks, prosthetic horns and other such things. The people who work there blow me away everytime, and always know what to suggest for my next cosplay.Ill be a lifelong customer as long as theyre there.

Its okay, but the customer service is lacking. I remember a few years ago I decided to go as an American Indian for Halloween. Perhaps Im not a politically correct person, so I slipped up and said I was interested in being an Indian chief. The middle aged woman helping me with the costumes then went into a lecture about how the proper term is Native American, and she told me in a sonorous tone that she was Native American herself. And this is a woman who was 10 shades whiter than myself.. I didnt have the heart to tell her that, I too, have Patawomeck Indian heritage. I just wanted a costume. I didnt need a lecture.

Although the entrance looks like you are about to get murdered. Its a lovely store that sells makeup that normally you can only get online.

Premiere has everything a serious cosplayer or SFX artist could ever need. I come here in the fall when costume season abounds to try and find new things to experiment with. The staff behind the makeup counter is very helpful and will gladly assist you in finding what you are looking for. Dont know what a product does? They will tell you, and sometimes show you if a tester of the product is available. That was how I came across Ben Nye scar wax. They even helped me find a shade that would match my pale skin.
