We are selling our house and needed a safe place to store our things. I contacted Michael at the Ridge, NY site and he was a great help picking a storage unit. I never found him to be pushy but always helpful.

I dont like that they didnt have the web advertised sale available (again)... that ones no longer available. It seems its always a bait and switch type of thing with this place. (Update your website if its not available?) When you walk in the door one of the first things they ask is if while they are signing you up can you leave a google review... how are people walking in going to give you a review before theyve even been there? They send a link to your phone while youre sitting in front of them. Of course sales people are friendly, thats what they do for a living, is that what people go off of? So in a couple months I got a notice that the space rental fee is getting jacked up...Then one of the questions you have to answer is if you think if something happened where there was damage to your property, would you get an attorney or not? You have to pick a box, or THEY decide for you that you wont need one... that has never been asked in my life and it was super shady. That whole signing up process was shady and this is just my honest review.I mean the place itself is fine, my space is clean but I will be moving my things out when I get a chance after the price was raised so quickly and I just dont like the intake process there. Made me feel like people are getting scammed.

Most important was keeping our possessions dry and safe, and our expectations were met. The ease of coming and going was great. The price with first month free is excellent. Highly recommend.

My interior unit was dry, clean, no bugs or rodents after several years, my goods were the same as the day I stored them.Lighting in my interior unit was non-existent, which was my only complaint. Also, rent is up there. Still 5 stars.

The manager is very knowledgeable and helpful with the transaction into self-storage for first comers. All aspects, questions and answers are clear and up front so there is no confusion. Rob and John are top notch in their roles at this storage location. They held a unit for me a couple of months before I was able to move to the area. The planning and the temporary move has been stressful and draining for me; both Rob and John understood the pressure I had to work through.The day of my move, Rob was right by my side so that the movers would not try to load my items into what I was pressured into taking a second unit that I ended up not needing, by the movers!! Rob advised them to start with the unit I initially reserved. Rob knew all of my items would fit in the space with a little room to move around!!I would absolutely, 100%, recommend this storage company and, location. I never leave reviews, like ever but I have to say John is the Most Professional and Efficient employee I have come across. I stored my camper at this location for two months and he was helpful and reliable every single time I had a question or a concern. This guy should be running the company lol. Rented a storage unit because of home renovations and needed a place to put our household items.John was extremely nice, pleasant, and helpful. He answered all questions that we had, and he patiently instructed us on how to use the passcode entry and exit.You get the first month free, and same day entry, once the payment is complete, which is nice.They have some nice wardrobe boxes that we purchased, so clothing can hang neatly inside the box for storage.Also we went there at night to access our unit and the outdoor lighting was adequate.So far our experience has been positive and the location of the storage facility is perfect for our needs.Again, the staff at the Ridge location was super-friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. Really a pleasure to deal with John and the other staff we met, too.

I was very leery after going to two storage companys. (the names I wont mention).. I finally went to EXTRA SPACE STORAGE and they were perfect...clean units, well lighted, so easy to get started...BILL and Brenda made this move so hassle free. Seems affordable and staff is friendly. I think the guy I dealt with was Rob and gave me good info about the units. Might be moving soon and need storage temporarily. Anyway just wanted to give positive feedback even though I thanked him I figured this would be a nice surprise for a good employee.

The facility is clean and well-maintained. The live-in manager is polite and helpful. His coworker was very helpful as well. The manager demonstrated the lift (no passengers) and escorted us to the unit to show us where it is. He was very thorough in answering questions and going over our agreement paperwork.

I have been renting from here on and off for the last six years and other than the facility being top notch the service from the representatives Bill and Brenda have been wonderful. They are among other reasons, the only reason I continue to come back here when there isnt quite enough space in my home. They know their business and know it well. They also know their customers to the point of seeing you and knowing your name or unit you rent without looking and even though it is their job to call you if youre late its really isnt so bad to hear from them cause theyre two people you really dont mind hearing from.

In 3 yrs the monthly fee went from $109 to $157 per month. Same unit. Nothing extra for the additional $48 per month. Not worth in my opinion. I have 2 other units. One in Center Moriches and one in Patchogue from other companies and their rates have not changed during the same period. Slowly closing all of the units out.

This was the first time I rented a storage unit and Bill made the process very easy. It didnt take long at all to get set up. The facility is very clean and neat. I have an interior unit. There is always a cart for me to use and the door stop keeps the door open so I can load up the cart from my car without having to continuously open the door.

I have never used a storage service before so I did not know what to expect. From when I walked in and met Brenda I knew it was going to be an easy process and all my questions would be answered. The insides of the building and units are clean and the prices cant be beat. I will definitely be recommending extra space storage in ridge to friends and family.

Everything was great for the first few months of our rental and John has always been great But a few months later my rent was raised a ridiculous amount. I called John to complain and he was able to reduce it a little bit, Again he was very nice, but idk if it’s the owner/owners of all the locations or each location just does their own thing. I just think it’s terrible and has become way overpriced

Extra Space Storage is by far the best self storage company on Long Island. Being an owner of a moving company I see and deal with facilities all over Long Island and none come close to the level of service and competitive rates as Extra Space.
