Your first impression of the range may be that it seems very low key, which is actually good thing. Its a good range where you can go and shoot and not be hassled constantly or nickel and dimed over who you bought your ammo from or where you rank in the membership (if youre not a cop), like a few other places Ive checked out. After signing up and a few visits it feels like a second home. You can take your time, and bring your own targets or use the ranges... and other shooters arent afraid to engage you in conversation and will help you sometimes when sweeping up your brass. John actually showed me how to clean the pistol after my first session. I felt comfortable enough bring my mother in to sign up after she got her license and was looking for a range. Shes a new shooter at age 67, --were both hearing impaired and were looking for a range with patience concerning our disability. I also brought a friend in to start the licensing process with John because of his experience in the business. When I first signed up, the range was getting set to make some needed improvements and since, have done just that. Sound proofing, the lounge area and shooting points have been improved. Class schedules have also picked up. Im interested in seeing what other improvements will be made.

The Range has recently been updated with new mulch, steel plates, lights and fresh paint. The stations are comfortable and large enough to lay out your equipment. The owner is top notch and has been in the business over 30 yrs. The location and hours are extremely accommodating.

I enjoyed my time at Seneca, John proved to be resourceful, he provided instructions and support. He also assists members with the proper maintenance and cleaning of your weapon. The prices are reasonable and they don’t have you pay an extra fee when you shoot. One annual fee.

Johns a great guy if you take the time to understand he is a one man operation running many good services at once.- His Armed Guard School is one of the best.(I got my Armed License from him)- Runs one of the best NYC Gun License Service (considering NYPD is one of the worst in the Country to deal with) (Also got my Carry and Target License from him)- A fairly decent Shooting Range considering NYC is always looking to shut down all Ranges there. (Was a member for 10yrs until I left NYC-NYS)He is a bit quick and maybe a bit harsh but he will always give you strait talk and though you may not appreciate it or like it he is most likely not wrong. And I have met many, many interesting and great people there if you take the time to chill and hang their for a bit.Keep up the good work John!PS:there are many people that go there who are clueless that may need to be dealt with without kid gloves.

Terribly inconsiderate staff that I spoke to over the phone. Individual lacked professionalism and common decency. I am far from easy to offend, but having a curt conversation with someone shortly before being being hung-up on left a bad taste in my mouth. happy shooting folks.

AWFUL! Thieves! This place Robbed me out of over $1,000, after paying for a arms certificate course, the 42 hour one (in cash). I was waiting for the state to approve my application and once cancelled they said they couldnt return the money but once I got approval from the state then I could come back and shoot with them. I received no contract or formal receipt ...just a business card. Then when I returned to ask my money back they said that they wont do it, so I basically just gave them $1,000 and no course time.

Horrible. If you intend to be treated like garbage and pay for inconvenience, then this is the place to go. The owner JOHN schedules for you to come in and when the day of the appointment comes, he forgets he he had you scheduled for that day. He did this to me 3 times already and now Im asking for my money back. Horrible manners and is very disrespectful.

This range it’s ok helping with getting paper workStarted .But they will over charge you for a fire armAn when Law-enforcement Has a class the range will push you out the door .Now on the other hand wood haven guns an rifle range on Jamaica ave will help you an fire arms on display .As well two sections of the range in case they have a law-enforcement class *****.
