A fantastic store with excellent customer service. Its great to have a hardware store locally that cares about their customers. They train the young staff well every time i go in someone offers to help. Love this store!

This place is great... Was to 2 different home Depots trying to find squeegees, shop brooms and mops after this storm cause put shop flooded out in Midland park. They were all of stock from them... After dropping my bosses computer off to IT (tech sperts) to see if it could be recovered I remembered this ace store. Turns out they had everything I needed in stock and plenty of them. I always try to go to the little mom and pop shops instead of big chains... But they are now far and few in-between thanks to the big chain stores. This is one store Im glad I remembered was there.

I like this place. They only sell high-quality items that youre not going to find in those big chain stores. The store is neat, clean and organized. The sales people are knowledgeable and friendly. I have a whole list of stuff that I can only find there, even CHUCKLES candy. For the summer they have a great barbecue selection. 5 + STARS ALWAYS

I ordered a lawn mower on the Ace website, which included delivery. Someone from the store called and told me the delivery window. The truck arrived on time and the two delivery guys were extremely efficient, friendly and accommodating . The price was comparable to the big box stores.

Never realized how big this store is. They have everything. A nice mix of old style family hardware store and big box. I was very impressed by the number of high school kids working and how professional and knowledgeable they were. Great store.

PROS: For a place on a busy road their parking lot was a decent size. The place was organized and clean. The workers were knowledgeable about their productsCONS: This place is nowhere near as big as other hardware stores which tells you their inventory isnt as much. The biggest problem I had was the workers. They had a bad attitude with my friend and I. We wanted a product that their website stated they had and they sternly told us that they no longer carry it and the website was inaccurate. Then they tried making us buy this new product thats only been on the market for 6 months and we didnt trust that brand so we just left.OVERALL: If you want something super simple then come here but if you are most likely needing help from an associate dont come here. Even as we were asking a representative where to find something the person couldnt hear us so the guy shouts at my friend dude I cant hear you, speak up. Thats no way to speak to customers

Went in there today to buy a grille, budget between $1000-$1500, stood there looking at various models (wasn’t busy in store BTW) and not one employee asked if I needed assistance. This is t Lowe’s, I don’t need need to seek out help to drop $1,500 while trying to give my biz to a local shop. I work in sales, it does NOT compute to me, perplexing frankly. Drove to Lodi and bought a Napoleon at Modern Propane (we’re also sort of aloof) sign of the times I guess. Good news is, for anyone that hustles at work, job security....... maybe? BTW, it’s hot or miss at this ACE, some seem to enjoy not helping and making you feel stupid, others, usuallly older employees, enjoy helping. I’d be broke if I responded that way....... I had a hole burining in my wallet.

Called the store twice with a question about paint. Girl who answered the phone put me on hold, never to return. No one ever picked up. This store has always been awful. I support small and local but this place needs a lesson in customer service.

Pros: Nice cozy hardware store. Employees are friendly and helpful. Prices are the same as lowes and home depot.Cons: they close early.

Place is good for fast pick ups of things like screws and nails, grass seed, fertilizer, etc. Keys made there while you wait but theres a lot of stuff they dont carry. Staff is friendly.

This is a nice hardware store smaller than the big box places but bigger than the home town hardware store of yesteryear. They seem to have some of everything. Plumbing, painting, electric, car stuff. They have 2 floors so there is plenty of space.Its on the corner of Kinderkamack Ave. Not the biggest parking lot. I was there during the week so it wasnt bad. I imagine on Sat you may have to park on the side street. Id rather go there than fight 17 traffic to go to one of the big places

Great hardware store! This store is a welcome hybrid of local store with all the essentials and some box-store offerings. Well-organized and well stocked. No matter the season I can find what I need here - easily! Well staff and stocked. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable about their inventory. Everything is maintained and easy to find. Grill stuff, gardening, painting, snow removal, general plumbing and electric, automotive - all the essentials. All here. Ample parking as well. Everything you want and more in a local hardware store. They are open Sundays which is a big plus for a hardware store that is not a Home Depot or Lowes. Id rather head over to Palmer than a larger store if I can help it!

I used to go here 30+ years ago when I lived close by. Always have what I need. I was back in the area and needed some supplies and immediately thought of Palmer Ace Hardware. They still have everything. Staff is wonderful. Was good to be back and see that it hasnt changed.

Great small town hardware store feel. Recently painted my house and the owner was very knowledgeable and helpful with what was starting to be a very stressful paint picking process.

I love this place. Excellent service with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. They almost always have what Im going there for. The parking can be a little problematic but that really only happens during bad weather.

Stopped there today to look at grills. I asked if they would price match and they did. I bought a grill at a great price and they delivered it two hours later!!They actually beat the competitios price by a substantial amount.Great personnel, very helpful. Impressive store they have everything. Ill visit there for sure going forward rather then the big box stores.Worth the trip from anywhere! Youll be impressed with the store and the help.

These guys are great! They helped me with processing a warranty for a BGE I bought at another location 10 years ago that has since closed. I dealt with Victor Buccos, and he was extremely helpful and accommodating. They also have one of the best selections of BGE product I have seen in North Jersey. I will make this my go to place for all my BGE needs going forward.

Great local hardware store, even open for some hours on Sunday. They have a bit over everything, and not often they dont have what I need in a pinch. Knowedgeable staff, and even some unique stuff. Prices may be a bit high but worth it and keep a local small business here

Customer service & its BEST!! On January 31st my wife and I decided we needed to purchase a snowblower for the upcoming snow storm. We called Palmer Ace Hardware to see if they had any in stock. Victor a sales associate was incredibly helpful.. put one aside for us and helped us when we got to the store in making sure it was the right one for us. The next day after using the snowblower for about 10 minutes it malfunctioned and would not start up again. We called the store and they instantly put us on with David the owner who asked for our address so he could come out and take a look at what was wrong. About 30 minutes later he showed up at her house and tried to diagnose the problem. After realizing it wasnt going to start up he put it in his car and took it back to the store. Before leaving our house David told us he would return later or early the next morning with the store snowblower so we can borrow it and get all the snow cleared on our property. We were truly amazed that he even came out to our home during the snowstorm and could not believe that he was going to return with a snowblower. The following morning at around 10 a.m. he called me and said he was on our way to our home with the snow blower. This was truly unbelievable!!! The next day David called me and arrange with the company to make sure I would get a replacement snowblower shipped to me as soon as possible.

Been there a few times. I didnt have enough time to go to home depot. Very expensive compared to the big stores. Not to friendly either. I stopped there last week to get salt for snow, and the stuff they had out looked like it was from last winter. I went to home depot and got great fresh salt, and it was so much cheaper. In response to ownership. U responded to my review. Thanks for that. To b honest with ur response, i bought sodium chloride salt the same day, i left ur business to go to home depot and got 2 50 pounds bags of the best salt, for 20 dollars a bag. Not old rock salt that you had in front of ur store. Thats being honest with the pricing.

Great place number one in customer service and satisfaction

I’ve shopped at this Ace Hardware for years since moving to the area. Always knowledgeable staff willing to answer questions and help find items. They always surprise me that a small hardware store has so much stuff, even oddball fittings, fasteners and electrical parts.Today they really went above and beyond to accommodate me when I needed some emergency parts to fix my fridge. Dave and his team were excellent especially given this crazy pandemic we’re living through. Very glad to see customers keeping them busy, there’s some things you just don’t find at a big box store.

This place has a little of everything and knowledgeable and helpful staff. Parking can be a bit odd with the dual lots. Store hours arent always very convenient.

This used to be one of the best stocked real hardware stores around yet it seems they too have gone the way of box stores as well.There would be less waste produced if more people knew things could be repaired, reworked or even replicated with parts from a true Hardware store which unfortunately Palmer Brothers is no more.UPDATE: I originally gave this rating as a one-star however after the owner reached out to me I am definitely changing my rating to a five-star. This is definitely is the place you want to go for Hardware and all your other home needs.Local and Family owned, definitely go see Dave and his crew you wont be disappointed.

I was pleasantly surprised the other day when one of the store associates Pamela was able to assist me despite store limitations in the current epidemic. Despite my being in a wheelchair, she was still able to serve me, even going so far as to offer to deliver the paints and grass seeds I needed to my own home two towns over from the store after the store had closed for the evening.Im so grateful there are still people out there going the extra mile despite the current conditions. ZERO STARS!!! I ordered a bucket and a window washer tool and the next day an email said they didn’t have the bucket in stock. Even though it said online it was in stock. So I called to check on the status of the window washer tool, waited for an hour on hold and then they hung up on me. So I called back and sat on hold for another 40 minutes and was hung up on again. So I called the store directly And requested to just cancel my order because IM OVER IT and they told me they cannot cancel orders if the item is out of stock??? So now, fourth attempt to resolve, I call the 800 number back and after another 45 minutes on hold, the man tells me my order was automatically cancelled by the store right after I placed it the day before. What a joke. Totally unbelievable. Wasted 3 hours of my time. Let’s hope my card is actually credited back what I paid so I don’t have to deal with this BS again. I will just stick to amazon and Home Depot from now on.

I recently had an issue with this store HOWEVER The owner is top notch to deal with and certainly knows the value of customer service.!!!If you have any problems or issues ever, its best to ask for him. He quickly resolved the issue I had.Ps. I plan on speaking with him in the future for some changes I want to do around the house. Its so nice to finally have someone I can trust to go to for that these days! Better to give our business to our locals! :)

This hardware store is fantastic. We came in with our two little boys as my husband was looking for a few things for the house. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted with hellos and what do you need? The staff was just so friendly. The day prior we went to Home Depot in Ramsey and they were down right rude but this ACE hardware was the complete opposite. Even the cashier at ACE was friendly. We were really impressed with their selection and staff. Wonderful place to go.

Have a lot of selections and great customer service especially the female who works as a cashier is really nice.Please include more price tags for thw missing ones and especially for the seasonal merchandise in the lower floor. Will shop again!!!

I highly recommend going to Palmer Ace Hardware in River Edge, NJ for all your DIY home projects. Its conveniently located on Kinderkamack Rd. Most importantly, the staff is knowledgeable and friendly.Ive been painting my house and they have the best Ben Moore paint studio around. I highly recommend Ben Moore for all your projects. Even though it costs a little more, the results look fantastic! Also make sure to sign up for their Ace Rewards; youll get bonus coupons to use in-store.

Always find what I need and expert advice from the friendly helpful employees! Example: Rich went out of his way to make sure I had the size bit for my drill - one that didnt exist on the shelf - he improvised & cut one to fit ! We are very fortunate to have such a great hardware store in our town!!

This was a GREAT hardware store back in the day. They had EVERYTHING! Now, it looks like they are selling off their inventory and not replacing it. The help ars young kids that know little of this business. Missing horribly the staff that had the answers to all my questions. Worst of all, they are forcing me to go to the larger stores for what I need, simply because they are not carrying their usual supply, but instead have candy and travel coffee cups, instead of the hardware they were known for. So very sad I cannot rely on Palmer Bros Ace hardware anymore What happened to them? Only person I recognize is their long time cashier. Thankfully, she was able to help me. Goodbye Palmer Bros.

I have come to this store multiple times and I have found everything Ive needed with the help of mark and Pamela in the paint section. They are great people, friendly and always helpful. I went in today on the 8th and some new guy name mike was in the paint section. He was not helpful at all. He was rude. He gave me a huge attitude when I asked him for help, too busy to deal with him I just left.

Great to have a local hardware store that even opens Sundays for a few hours. Selection is limited due to the size of the store and some things seem pricey, but convenience and local businesses generally are. Glad to have them down the block for when I realize Im in need of something working on weekend projects.

Was installing an exhaust for my motorcycle, needed to use some sort of spacer. This hardware store was nearby so I went to see what can be used. The associate spent at least 10 minutes with me trying to figure out what can be used for my install. In the end he cut up a PVC pipe a few different sizes for me, which worked out perfectly. It was $1.50 part, but the fact that he was so helpful for such a cheap part really goes to show the kind of service you dont get at big box stores. Didnt get his name, but Im grateful for their service and Ill be sure to visit this store often.

They are a small local hard ware store super friendly and helpful. Best is they are open Sundays for half the day while home Depot and Lowes are not. Limited selection but super convenient. May have to park in street around the corner if the small lot is full.

I always find what I am looking for, hardware and specialty screws section has the BEST selection anywhere.Staff is helpful, Quality is MUCH BETTER than any Depot or Lowes.The place is well organized.I wish closing hours were a bit later than 6pm

He even recommended another store in the area that I didnt know existed, who did have what I was looking for. Made my search much easier. Would definitely patronize this Ace Hardware.

Its a rare visit when you walk in the door and someone doesnt ask if you need help. They have one of everything, and some things they have two of. I have often sent my wife with a vague description of what I need, and they pretty much always are able to ascertain what I need and get the stuff for her.They also carry Benjamin Moore paint, which is all we will use on our walls. I never have to wait for service.

I came to Ace Hardware the other day (in the pouring rain) just hoping to exchange a full propane tank for my empty one, and when no other representatives were willing to help me because of the weather, or perhaps how busy they were, Pamela saw I wasnt being helped- and was getting soaked- and took care of the exchange for me promptly. Thank you for your help Pamela, Ill be sure to come right to you next time I need any fuel or paint for future projects.

I have been shopping at Palmer Ace since the mid 70s. Its my go to place.

Great local store. Im a regular here. Staff is always very helpful and friendly. Wont go to a big box store when I can get just about anything I need here. There is no comparison to the level of help you get at Ace in River Edge.

Poorly stocked (didnt have 60 watt candelabra base LED flame tip bulbs, I needed 5, only had one on rack), poorly manned (customer service sucked). All in all a bad experience. Youre better off at Lowes or Home Depot.
