I just moved from Logan and my car was having issues, I was really hesitant on who to call to have look at it. I decided to go with Master Muffler because my Mom had seen they had good reviews so we made an appointment. I am always hesitant about going to places without my Dad because I’ve been screwed over in the past but I was desperate and my car was officially out of commission. They were SO nice and they were so patient with me not knowing anything they were talking about 😂 they were priced very fair and they made sure I was ok with everything they did before they did it! They had it all done within a day. My car drives great! Highly recommend!

I wish I had known about these guys sooner! I had a great experience working with Ty and his team this week. They were friendly and professional, and I couldnt be happier with the work they did to repair my 4Runner. Their lobby is clean and comfortable, and my entire experience was pleasant. The price they charged was lower than what l thought would be fair (much lower than other shops quoted), and when I questioned it, Ty said that hed just be happy if I came back the next time I needed auto care. Wow.. well to start off with I had to get my van toed to a shop and I choose here. So there was no turning back.They replaced my alternator and serpentine belt. A must do together really.But guess what? They put a broken alternator in my van! And they acted like I was the one that did something wrong?They had it for 2 days and told me to pick it up. When I did, it still wasn’t working right. I took it back and they said they fixed it, they didn’t. I called them and they told me to take it to the dealership because they couldn’t find the problem. So I took it to the dealership and it cost me $160 to be told Master Muffler put a broken alternator in my van! Yeah, seriously.So I contacted Master Muffler AGAIN and they told me that wasn’t going to fix the problem. But they changed it, and guess what?IT FIXED THE PROBLEM.I would have saved $400 by not going here.$160 for dealership + $250 for Lyft rides to work.(I work in South Jordan and live in the city)I completely regret going here. Save yourself some money and go somewhere else.

The past 2 times Ive been here have been spectacular. Ive come in for 4 Wheel alignments, and each time Ive left extremely satisfied. A good alignment i feel is underrated by most, but indespensible after installing new tires or replacing suspension components, its the icing on the cake, and these guys deliver the goods. Lastly, there were some dash lights that came on after I completed some brake service, and luckily it was a simple fix, they reset the lights and they have stayed off. I was very happy that they did that, hence why im typing this review. I will continue to do business here and will inform my friends about this place.

Came in with a problem on my daughters car. I was looking for a quote to replace the muffler and expecting to pay $300 - $600 dollars. They found the problem, which was unrelated to the muffler and fixed it within a few minutes. They would not accept payment, even after I insisted. Its good to know chain stores can treat you well. It would have been easy for them to give me a quote of what I was expecting and fix the problem that wasnt there. Good people. You now have a customer for life.

I brought in my -99 Porsche for a muffler modification known as the Gundo hack. It consists of cutting holes and welding a small piece of tube onto the original muffler, replicating the sound of the OEM sports exhaust system. Tyler at Master Muffler was happy to engage with me, look at pictures of what needed to be done, and quoted a fair price for this custom job. We agreed on a time & date for me to drop off the vehicle and everything went as planned. The quality of the welding work was beyond reproach, and they pressure tested the system to ensure that there were no leaks. The following day they called me to ensure that I was happy with the job. I would definitively recommend this shop.

I am very not happy with our service. We had our power steering fixed. Right as we drove out of the parking lot, it failed. So we took it back to get it fixed again. Then, we picked it up and with in a couple days, it failed again. We had to get it fixed a 3rd time. A year later and the power steering is acting up again. NOT HAPPY.We then had our a/c fixed. Same thing, it has gone out 3 times since we had it fixed in February of 2018. Still trying to get our a/c fixed as of July 2018. We are now taking our car somewhere else. Which we did and now we have to replace our entire a/c system due to metal shavings throughout our entire system. It will cost us another 1600 to fix. We already put 5000 into it fixing the a/c, power steering, and a few other things. I feel like we have just got the run around over and over. We definitely wont be taking our car here again. I am not happy! Spare yourself the trouble and go somewhere else to repair your vehicle.

Great experience with Master Muffler in South Jordan. I called around for pricing to complete an emissions test. Master Muffler was half the cost of those I called. They did not charge a fee to complete the registration with the state. I was in and out in 20 min. They are very friendly and accommodating. They are a full service mechanic shop. Great job, thanks!

Excellent customer service. They had the best prices around. They got my vehicle done really fast. Their waiting room was really nice with free popcorn and hot chocolate. Kid area was nice with lots of toys which was nice because I had my 2 year old with me. Would highly recommend.

I went into Master Muffler today for an oil change and to have them check the code for my check engine light. Jay was very friendly and they didnt try to up sell me on every little thing that my car didnt need. They told me it would be about 45 minutes, so I went and enjoyed the comfortable couches and beautiful waiting area. It was only about 20 or 25 minutes when they told me it was done. I was super impressed by my experience there today. I felt very comfortable and not at all pressured or like they were trying to scare me into buying additional services. My impression was that they are honest and it seems like thats hard to find in a auto place these days. Plus the lobby is so nice, I wouldnt have minded waiting a bit longer!

Had them build a cat-back system for my Jeep and they built it EXACTLY how I asked them to. When I got it back though... I hated it. I took it back a day later and asked them to change a few things, with full intentions of paying for the changes, but when they finished the work, they wouldnt accept payment.It was a small gesture on their end, but they made a customer for life that day. I can and often do recommend their shop to anyone who needs custom exhaust work done. I wish all repair facilities were this easy to work with.

We were buying a car down the road so we brought it in to have it generally inspected. They got us in that day, did a 45 minute check in the car, confidently and competently explained the results, and did it all for free. Best service I’ve had in a while.

Great service! I was offered an awesome price to get my muffler replaced and although there were other issues with my vehicle, I didnt feel pressured at all to these items repaired. The waiting area was under a bit of construction, but still very clean! I enjoyed how pleasant the staff was and the tech that rang me up even pulled my vehicle around to the front for me when we were done. Will definitely return!

I also love that they have toys for kids to play with while you wait. Cheapest Emissions Test Around AND A Mechanic You Can TrustI visited the downtown SLC location of Master Muffler a couple of years ago because I had an engine code that prevented me from passing emissions. They fixed it and it was reasonably priced.Fast forward two years and the same car has a trouble code and needs an emissions test ... but this time I had done troubshooting and several repairs on my own. I reported the code and the steps I had already taken, and gave my opinion of the issue. I like that Jay listened to me, treated me with respect, and in the end I was only charged for the work they did, and was not charged for diagnosing an issue that I had identified myself.Ill be back for future repairs and emissions tests!

Jay and the guys he works with know their stuff. Me and my family have been taking our cars to these guys for years because we know we can trust them. The services always went well, on time, and nothing extra was ever done on the car unless they had my permission and if they thought it would really help. I took my car in for a tune up and then drove it across the country and back and had no problems at all. I would refer all my friends and family to these guys if they needed a good car guy to go to.

Got quoted over $1500 for work needing to be performed. Thought that was pretty high. My second quote is $850 for the same work. Glad I didnt have them do it.

Not only did they fix it but they beat the competition in the area and had me back on the road the same day.A week later my radiator cracked in the Jeep and I took it to them. They were great. I dropped my car off to have the a/c evac/charged, and when we went to pick it up it was blowing 41 degrees out the vents! The staff was friendly and helpful, and it is the cleanest auto shop Ive ever been in. The waiting area is great and they even have a play area for the kids. I will definitely be back, and will recommend to family and friends.

The staff were all courteous and very professional. I went in because my headlights werent working, and they were able to fix them very quickly. They didnt suggest anything that I would not need, gave me a reasonable price, and got me out in a reasonable manner. I plan on going to Master Muffler from now on because of this experience.

I have been using these guys for a few years for all of my service and maintenance work. I cant recommend them highly enough. They are always fair and honest (something hard to find these days). They have never recommended unnecessary work and always try to educate me on the work they did.

These guys are pretty good and really nice. I took my truck in with a problem, they found another problem, and didnt fix the one I took it in for. However, they are local and fast with their work.

So helpful! Sons car was toast and they helped push it on to a tow dolly in the snow storm. We will be back. Honest hometown values.

Dealership told us we needed new brakes and rotors and quoted $1300 to replace. Called MM&B and their quote was less than half the dealerships. When we took the car into MM&B, they inspected the brakes and told us the brakes and rotors did not need to be replaced. Thanks MM&B for being a reputable company!

Update: Jay has been awesome!!! I have brought my car back in for service, they stand by their wordc and guarantee. They have really helped to extend the life of my car!! Thank you.nitially when I brought my car in and they fixed it the same day things seemed to be just fine. My issue was a catalytic converter. However since that time the check engine light continues to come on and my car will not pass emissions. They continue to assure me that it has nothing to do with what they originally fixed even though that is the reason why the check engine light comes on. I just purchased an additional 02 converter for almost $300 in addition to the catalytic converters. I have to bring my car back into these guys because the parts are guaranteed for at least a year. It would be nice if somebody knew what the heck was wrong with my car and could fix it. I sort of get the feeling they put some duct tape on it and give it back to me and say go drive it for a bit its good. The check engine light comes on after 50 miles of driving. This is not a good fix and it is incredibly aggravating.

4:40 p.m. October 14th Saturday afternoon. I went into Master Muffler and received horrible customer service. Simply stated I was merely looking for a price quote and also to see if they could do the job that I wanted them to do. The gentleman at the front counter refused to help me stating that they closed in 20 minutes and they couldnt do anything for me I didnt need it to get done right away I could have waited like I stated I wanted to get a price never will I go to that shop never will I recommend anybody to that location ever.

Recently had a great experience with this business. Prior to going here, I had spent an hour getting price quotes for some work on my sons car. I had just about given up, as most shops were charging more than I felt I could justify putting into an old car. Nearly fell off my chair when Ty gave me his price, as it was anywhere from $90-$250 less than other shops. I am delighted with the work done and can afford to have other work done by this shop in the future. They also looked at a couple minor problems that a dealership had made me think were more serious than they really were and told me to just keep an eye on them. Their honesty is refreshing. I think I have been paying full retail for auto repairs in the past, but no more! Thanks so much, Ty!Update on 06/25/16: Had them work on my daughters car that had a/c problems and a squealing serpentine belt. They quickly diagnosed the issues and the car is working well. Initially I thought the bill a bit pricey but then realized that a/c work involves a lot of labor to correctly diagnose and fix. And the tensioner idler pulley was a bit of a pain in the rear to change. My daughter is happy and cool and that is most important. Still recommend these guys as they only do what is needed and no more unless they talk with you first. I dont ever get the feeling of being taken advantage of like I have in some shops.Update on 02/28/18Yet another excellent experience as Jay was able to get my cars emission testing done and a sticker for my registration. The state failed to send me any notification for my registration so I was caught in a bind at the end of the month. Jay helped me out by getting my car in within minutes of my calling. Thanks guys!

Had my starter replaced 5 months ago. It turned out to be defective piece. Through some important miscommunication, the warranty was not honored. In addition, I was charged $200.00 less for the second starter and labor at a different repair shop. I didnt feel like my satisfaction was a high priority here. Overall, I spent several hundred dollars on this failed repair experience.

I wish I could give them -stars. Super frustrated with the front desk service. I called to ask about emissions and told they dont take appointments but to come right in so I did and then was surprised to hear it would be 3-4 hours. So they said I could come in first thing Monday morning and they would get me right in. I got in at 8:30 which was as early as possible and again was told it would be 3 or more hours, feeling discouraged the guy told me if I could get it in by 8:30 the next morning in would get me right in. So after dropping off my daughter I was there by 8:20 and again was told around 3 hour wait. And then he was condescending to me as I left. I am so upset that I wasted and 1 1/2 hours of my time with these guys.

Just called (5:25 PM) to get a price estimate, was told ALL his parts dealers close at 5:00, I called 3 others Muffler shops, (all of them close at 6:00 PM) received quotes over the phone from everyone else. Set appointment for tomorrow at 8:00 AM somewhere else. Guy on phone should never answer calls.

THESES GUYS ARE THE REAL DEAL!My Xterra was sometimes running rough, engine light on and blinking, they did a full tune up...after picking it up, still running rough and engine light came back on, I took it back 2 weeks later, they had to replace a bad fuel injector and they absorbed the full cost, thanks Jay and crew! VERY IMPRESSED!

My fuel pump went out in my vehicle and they were able to get me in and have it done the same day as well as perform a tune up in the process.Out of 5 mechanics in the riverton area that I called for quotes this is the only shop that said they would diagnose the problem first to make sure that was what was truly the issue. It turned out it was the issue but that was just a slightly educated guess on my part and it was comforting that they didnt want to just take my money and possibly replace something that didnt need to be replaced. They were not the cheapest bid out of the 5 mechanic shops I called but I went with them due to their honesty, knowledge, speed of service and politeness. Jay helped me at the front and he was very polite and answered any questions I had when dropping off my vehicle. They finished my vehicle earlier in the day than expected even after performing additional work saving me the hassle and expense of finding a rental car to make it to work the next day. When picking up my vehicle he had noted several things that may be coming up to replace on my vehicle but didnt try to hold me into a plan to get it done but made sure that the way I use the vehicle it would still be safe. He then told me just to call back when Im ready and he will put together a plan to help me get things fixed in the order of severity. They have just earned a loyal customer! Thanks!
