The collars and Kittie carrier are the best Ive ever bought. Collars at other stores have either broken off or have come undone. These collars have lastest and not faded! The staff is so helpful and kind. The products are just the best quality. I cant afford to keep buying cheap. I need my money to last and the products I buy at Riverton Pet Essentials are top notch!
Great place to get crickets for my bearded dragon. The crickets are much healthier then other pet stores because they live way longer!
Great groomers, friendly. They listen to you. Its sure getting pricey though to groom your dog.
I took my dog in for grooming and as soon as the groomer took her past the half gate she was attacked by another dog roaming freely. There was also a little girl probably about 4 behind the door who started crying and I cant blame her, she was close enough that she could have been injured as well. A gal who Id assume works there pulled this dog of mine and the groomer continued on as if that all was normal and did not leash, muzzle or kennel this hostile dog.I was only given a general email address to communicate to the owners my frustrations to which I did not and have not received a response on. (Its been over 12 hrs since my email and this review).I was also told that the store manager would not be in until after 12pm. Once I talked to the store manager she said theres nothing she could do and from what she understood there wasnt contact, to which I informed her that there was contact as the aggressive dog tackled my dog into the half door. She then clarified that contact means my dog doesnt have bite marks.So it would seem that this company is choosing to be reactive instead of proactive and will wait until an animal is seriously injured before they change their policy on temperamental dogs. I will not be taking my dog back there to see if one day she does get injured seriously enough for them to do something.
This is my all-time favorite pet store! The grooming is wonderful, they treat my dog like family and I never have to worry about her when I drop her off. The value is great for the grooming, and the store has all kinds of fun, unique things I havent seen other places. The employees are helpful and knowledgeable, and I really cant say enough good things about this store!

I love this place. Specifically Taylor is our groomer. I use to take my senior dog Roxy to her. She was super difficult to groom. She was a super anxious nippy senior toy poodle. She would try to bite the clippers even. Taylor was the only one she would let groom her. Now I take my new puppy Ruby to her & she keeps her so calm & Ruby acts like it isnt a big deal at all. I tried other groomers & none stack up with the job Taylor is able to do on my pups! I will keep coming here forever.
Finally found a place to groom my golden retriever! My 11 year old golden had surgery which caused a couple months of neglected grooming (bad parenting on my part). She was way over due for a serious spa day. RPE spent extra time making sure she was well taken care of top to bottom and inside out (teeth & ears). She has sensitive skin areas and pre-existing trama from being a breeding dog (previous owners, not me) so she can be difficult to groom. They prioritized the well being of my girl with breaks and taking time to make sure she was comfortable. They didnt force her to do anything just to meet my expectations. Ive had many experiences with other groomers where they prioritize the pickup times over the comfort of the dog so they can meet expectations but RPE makes sure the dog comes first, even if that means you have to wait a little longer or certain areas need to be avoided for the safety and comfort of the dog. I can tell she was happy because when I showed up she was laying down relaxing with another dog when she usually spends the entire time pacing. I also like that they have specific time slots so the exposure to other dogs is minimal. Other groomers often become a doggy day care and are very chaotic creating a lot of anxiety for my girl. I have already scheduled my next appointment and plan to make this my go to place for the foreseeable future. Thank you RPE for taking such great care of my girl!
My husband and I just stopped in here and were blown away! Great prices, great selection, and such friendly staff members. The animals were clearly well cared for, which is something we always look for when we choose places to support. Loved it here, they gained loyal customers! (Also, they bent over backwards to squeeze my shih tzu in for a grooming!)
After moving, we had a hard time finding the right groomers for our Great Dane (who’s 100% a member of our little family- our baby!). She is very sweet, but also an absolute basket full of anxiety (making situations as small as a basic nail trim potentially traumatizing for her). It’s important to us that we can trust the groomers we take her to, to be kind, gentle and patient with her. Riverton Pet Essentials has been all that - and more! They are careful and kind with our baby girl, the staff members are all friendly and knowledgable, eager to help in any way they can. Plus, they have an awesome (and affordable!) selection of pet toys and a wide variety of dog treats. We will be lifelong customers!
Today was our first time at Riverton Pet Essentials. I took my 2 dogs in to have their nails cut/ground. Elise was able to take care of both of them right away. She was very patient, kind, efficient, and professional. We will definitely be back.
I called asked for a bath and eye trim only. They quoted me $35.00 each. Didn’t need a full groom which they charge 50 to 55.I picked up my shihtzu today and was charged 96.00. How does 35.00 + 35.00 add up to 96.00. I asked she said, oh. by the way we charge more for the eyes....I drive from Sandy thinking they were good, but yes I got ripped off today..Unbelievable for a full groom of 50.00, it includes there eyes...I wish I would of read your reviews! I could of saved time, gas and money!Just for honestly purposes, you need to post your services with a price$$$$$. So when we pickup we aren’t charged more....I won’t be back girls!!Update: I appreciate the 20.00 refund for charging more than quoted. We have been going there for years, great grooming. Just need to post prices!!

Very clean store, typically well stocked, average prices. Though the majority of the staff seem quite young they are all very polite and helpful and you can tell they enjoy their jobs. Saturday I went in and the girl behind the register was politely reprimanding one the lizards and it made me so happy and a great reminder how much the local shops care about the animals. You just never see stuff like that at a big box chain store. They dont have a large selection of invertebrates or reptiles but they do seem to be expanding, though the prices typically fall on the higher end of side none have been outrageous. If you normally buy supplies for a pet on a weekly basis, check this store out and Im sure you wont be disappointed.
They do walk in appointments which makes my life so much easier. My dog is terrified of getting his nails trimmed and clipped but they did amazing for him and now he is less freaked out. Groomers were professional and quick.
Love the groomers. They’re very good. It’s a no frills kind of place and the prices are good. Can walk in anytime to get my dogs nails clipped and teeth brushed
We have 3 dogs that we have groomed (bath, hair cuts & nail trim) & they do a great job with all 3!! Pups are always happy, smell good & adorable when theyre done, & I can pick up any pet supplies I need, too.🙂

We have been taking our two redbone coonhounds to get groomed here for a couple months. They pay so much closer attention to detail in their furminator grooming than over at the big box pet store up the street. Shop local. They actually care about your feedback at Riverton Pet Essentials and try to do their best to please their customers.

Best thing I can say about this place, no appointment needed to get you pets nails done. 16.00$ is all they charge. Walk in pooch is done and you walk right back out!

Ive been coming here for the last few months. Usually they do a good job trimming and grinding my dogs nails until yesterday. Rachel handed my dog over with her nail and fur covered in fresh blood. She Acted like my dog must have gotten hurt prior to the trimming. I know for a fact she was perfectly fine before hand. I DONT appreciate liars. Not coming back for any grooming again. Would have been a different story if she would have owned up to it b/c yeah accidents happen.
Great store to get pet supplies for my bearded dragon. I started going there because they share a parking lot where I work. They always have fresh crickets, super worms, and occasionally they have horn worms (at a great price when they do too). I really like supporting a small local business and the owners are friendly. Ive bought multiple items for my bearded dragon since they have great prices on live food for reptiles, mercury vapor bulbs (UVB) as well as other pet essentials. Although I do not have first hand experience I have heard they are great dog groomers too.
They have a wide variety of dog food choices and they have a friendly staff.

I was dumb enough to try and clip my dogs nails and caused one to bleed. I took him into Pet Essentials and the staff were so kind about it and helpful. My young dog got scared and pooped (TWICE!!) and they were so kind about it all. They even showed me how to properly trim his nails. I was very impressed with them. Thanks!!

They were so, so, so great with my girl Jade. She came back to me very calm and happy, which was a wonderful sight. They do fantastic work. Jade is a husky with really thick fur, and they worked some magic on her. Thank you, Riverton Pet Essentials!I cant recommend them enough.

I have never seen such amazing customer service as I experienced here. I called ahead of time before they opened regarding some concerns I had about my snake and a lady by the name .... Katelyn....( I hope I got the name and spelling accurate ) who I later found out was a manager answered with a very friendly attitude, answered every question with extreme patience and understanding. I arrived at she store shortly after and was greeted by the same lady I spoke to on the phone, she was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable, offered suggestions without trying to sell me on anything and truly showed impeccable customer service. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for fantastic service, prices or help in general regarding their pets.

I took my puppy here for the first time today and had such a good experience! I had a million questions about my dogs skin and fur and everyone there was so patient and knowledgeable. They helped me out so much when it came to recommending products. My puppy was so relaxed with them that when I came to pick him up he was asleep. I will continue to go here for as a long as I can.
Awesome employees very educated about their products provide grooming here as well. High end dog food sold here with a return policy if the dog does not like it.
I love this place so much! I get so excited when we take our dog to get groomed! I get to hold animals and pet them. Plus there’s always a cute dog there! Their staff is incredible and efficient! I have nothing bad to say about my favorite pet store!

Incredible place!!!! We took our rescue cat in to get groomed for the first time and this place was amazing! Tayler groomed her and was so gentle and kind which was huge for us knowing how freaked out our cat would be! Cut was so even and smooth! 11/10 would recommend this place and the price wasn’t bad at all!!!
Cute new shop! Weve gone in for guinea pigs and their supplies. The pigs (3) weve taken home are wonderful!! Super personality 👌 prices are absolutely reasonable. Thinking about expanding into their dog services. Ill update if I do!
We have been here several times to get our 65 lb. Labradoodle with a fleece coat groomed. They go above and beyond to make sure they execute exactly what I ask for. They ask questions and show me examples of what they think Im asking for if they need to. My dog gets SO excited to go here because hes treated so well. When I pick him up he doesnt want to leave. Weve had him groomed other places but after going to Riverton Pet Essentials we wont be going anywhere else again. They are the best!
Very knowledgeable staff. I was having a hard time getting my ball python to eat so I went to riverton pet essentials to see if they could help. The girl I talked to was very helpful, answered all my questions and gave me a lot of advice and told me if I couldnt get him to eat within a few months to bring him in and theyd help me. I went home and tried what she recommended and I was able to get him to strike right away! I highly recommend this pet store!

Such a cute store! It has a pretty big variety of supplies for a WIDE range of pets, plus its always better to support a locally owned shop! Also if they dont carry something youre looking for, they usually try and order it in for you!
The two pet rats we bought at this place were sick. One died 24 hours after getting her, the other a week and a half afterwards. Id highly avoid buying pet rats here for the time being, or until they get the sick rats sorted out. Its been an extremely stressful experience. Both showed signs of severe sickness and shouldve been noticed, as I dont think the rat I received was the first to die in the bunch they had in the cage.Weve owned rats in the past, both of which were healthy, and give the rats high quality cages that can house 9 rats. Weve done our research and I shouldve noticed they were sneezing a lot, but I wasnt 100% sure if she was sick. Our handling/care for them definitely didnt result in the sickness.

I get my pet supplies here regularly. I enjoy the friendly workers and they have the coolest pets if you are looking for something other than a dog. They do grooming but have yet to use that service.

Called several pet groomers and was put on hold for over 5 minutes or was told they didn’t have appointments until Sept! Finally tried Riverton Pet Essentials and I couldn’t be happier. The groomer did an amazing job and the price was super reasonable. Will definitely be returning here when my dog needs another cut.

We followed Tayler here from her previous job. Our fur baby hates being groomed but she had that special touch. We love her.
I really love coming here. I have purchased animals, feeders and supplies from these guys and every time I come in they’re interested in updates. Staff here is both knowledgeable and friendly and they don’t mind getting into a conversation with me. The passion really shows and i thoroughly enjoy coming in here. Our dog was sprayed by a skunk and they handled it so well. He came home good as new, and you couldn’t even tell. He’s very high strung and the staff didn’t even blink an eye. Their shop was clean and well kept! We were so impressed!

A small, locally owned store with fairly priced items. They have a large variety of high quality dog foods which what brought us in! I wish they had a larger supply for fish products. They have a couple tanks, and a limited selection of tanks, accessories, scaping, and decor.
This is a great little pet store! I went in looking for some supplies to care for my Tarantulas and they had exactly what I needed. They also carry supplies for a large variety of other pets. My only complaint is their prices seem a little high but they make up for that with awesome customer service. I will gladly pay a slightly higher price than I would at a large retail chain if it means exceptional customer service.EDIT: I lowered my rating to 3 stars. While the customer service is amazing at this store, buying crickets is kind of a pain. I really dont like that when you tell them how many crickets you want, they calculate it out down to the last cricket and meticulously count them it for you. Last time I went in, they even gave me some dead crickets. I will probably buy my crickets elsewhere in the future.

Great new addition to the neighborhood. We took our 2 dogs for grooming. They both turned out great, and the cost was so much more reasonable than the others in the area. After grooming, we shopped and got new collars, treats and some carpet cleaners. The total bill was less than what we paid for grooming alone. The owner was helpful and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend, and plan on returning.
They have always done a wonderful job on my giant schnauzer. They are so friendly and I love that my dog gets to play with the other dogs while he waits his turn instead of being stuck in a kennel.
I always take my dog here to get her haircut they always treat her so good and they always do there best job on my little one, the staff are always so nice and always care for her and the prices are very affordable. I highly recommend this place!!
Neither of the two employees I saw were wearing masks when we went in.One of them was helping an older gentleman very closely who was wearing a mask - not worth it considering the level of compassion and care they have for their customers.

I love this place! They are always so helpful and generally have suggestions for any questions I have. Most recently I went in for some wet food, because my dog wouldnt eat after getting spayed and was having issues keeping water down. They suggested CBD oil to me and shes much calmer and was able to get down some food, water, and her pain pills. So thankful for that suggestion!
I just picked up my yorkie from his grooming appointment. I am so impressed with their service! Not only does he look so handsome, he wasn’t stuck in a kennel when I picked him up! I can tell my dog had a good experience as well because he’s acting totally normal and not traumatized at all. I will definitely be bringing him back.

If you want your dog to be treated like family this is the place! I am new to being a puppy pet parent so the support and help Ive received from the staff has been amazing! Theyre well stocked with everything we need for our dog and their pricing is very competitive. The store is very clean and well laid out. We also had our puppy groomed for the first time and they did an amazing job. He looked amazing, and he had so much fun being there he was reluctant to leave! Support this local, small business! The experience is top notch!
