3 new girls as cashier . Nobody experienced to help them or answer question . They were guessing and saying I dont know.Very slow cashing out .

Michael is a rock solid dude. I went in to get some picture frames and he invited me into the back where we had beers a played Ouija.

Store has lots of good stuff but it is almost always understaffed! Clerk was friendly, however the manager was very lazy and could not complete an honest price check when requested. The price tag on the shelf was clearly present and unfortunately the manager did not honor it. After the clerk clearly stated that Michaels would honor the price tag on the shelf, if it had not been changed. Loss of sale, poor customer service engagement and quite frankly a lack of integrity in the purchasing process.

Very happy with the way Michaels is handling the COVID-19 social distancing. Very efficient store curb side pick up. Was also inside the store for a few minutes and was well maintained with all associates practicing social distancing and good hygiene with masks

Even with an employees help it took me a long time to find what I needed because the store seems to be organized by craft more so than by item, so if youre looking for something commonly used across many different projects, you have to guess where itll be located. If you have some time to look around though its a great place to shop for all kinds of crafts and projects!

On the Michaels app it said they had certain glitters in stock,but when we got there there wasnt any on the shelves. The Manager was willing to go check the backroom for me. A shipment had arrived and hadnt been put out yet or even sorted. He brought me several to choose from. I greatly appreciated that. So why not 5 stars you ask? Its because of the employee working in the glitter aisle. She told him they only carried one brand (actually 3) and discouraged him from looking in the backroom. The cashier was great also. I would definitely stop again if Im in the area.

Everyone will find something that they are looking for - from kids (that will probably want to buy some coloring books, pencils and slime kits) to adults (paint, picture frames, pens and other office supplies). This store even has birthday stuff and some baking (cakes, cupcakes) stuff. Great, nice staff.

Good help and lots of crafting options. If you sign up for rewards or emails theres really good coupons about every two weeks. This store is fairly large.

This place always has something that my kids want to bring home. Lol. And that is a good thing because these things are not electronics. They carry professional caliber of acrylic paints and professional quality markers. These will set you back few pennies but always look for the 50% coupon that you will find weekly in you newspaper. The staff in the Rochester Hills store is always friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful.

Great customer service from friendly and knowledgeable staff. I was surprised by the wide variety of products they offer and amazing value. The reason I went was to have my degree framed and they did a wonderful job.

Rude stuff

This store is in Rochester hills and is in a convenient location. The store is huge with variety of crafts and storage supplies and many more areas of arts. I got treasure boxes for my kids to use as storage. They love it. Also bought some paint supplies. The store is nicely kept. The aisles are neatly kept and not crowded. The staff is also super nice.

The place is really crammed and a bit disorganized, but its got pretty much everything, and everything is mostly reasonably priced. The staff is really friendly and helpful. I am kind of bummed they ran out of the complimentary nutcrackers that come with a purchase, though.

I homeschooled my kindergartener and eighth grader full time during coronavirus since Troy School Districts distance learning was pathetic and severely lacking in substance. I picked up a ton of crafts from Michaels for homeschool art class and to also keep the girls busy for hours so I could work from home.There is a pretty decent selection of wood crafts. I picked up large wooden letters to hang on the bedroom wall, smaller wooden letters to glue on plaques, and a gazebo bird feeder. I also picked up a four pack of canvas to paint and some T-shirts.Lots of different acrylic paint colors, including glittery paints, to choose from along with different fabric paints. I bought about 15 bottles of various colors.Overall, a great place to find craft supplies. Dont forget the 40% off coupon.

Super pricey but always well stocked and tons available. If you go with their coupons, you can get a lot for a great price. Theres a lack of craft stores so their prices reflect lack of competition, at least at this location. Very friendly staff and cute kid activities as long as your kids are really young. Plenty of website coupons or daily deals if you know how to shop right.

I can usually find what I need for a craft project here. It isnt good for sewing, but if you are into baking, jewelry, Cricut, etc. they have a decent selection i love their clearance section.

Lots of craft items on sale. The equipment is the best. They have classes to help with the more complicated pieces. The Christmas prices with added discounts are great to do decorating.

There was a long line but the two cashiers handled it quickly and politely. There was even an issue about an return with one of the customers for an item not purchased at Michaels and the clerk handled it professionally and the customer did not become upset. Even when she was denied the return.

I absolutely love this Michaels location! Its always clean and the employees are very friendly. Ive been coming here since I was a little kid and easily am able to find exactly what Im looking for and more ... for a better price than any of the other craft options nearby! Lame customer service. Ordered 20 pictures frames from there website on sale, half of them arrived broken, all I wanted to do was exchange them. They wouldn’t let me exchange them and instead wanted me to return them and purchase them again at full price.

Love the selection, especially at the holidays. The prices arent too bad for the quality. However, we usually wait for one of their wonderful sales. Join the rewards program for sales and coupons mailed and emailed to you regularly. Only 4 out of 5 stars due to the employees not always being very helpful or friendly. They could work on being more observant and offering help when someone is clearly looking for something instead of keeping their heads down and hitting by like they cant be bothered. Other than that, its a great store!

Horrendous staff honestly, aggressively slow and mouthy. Waited 10 minutes for pickup order, waived down an employee to see what was happening. Afterwards I was told that it could take hours to get 3 items. New hires needed.

It would be helpful if they had staff to help you find what you were looking for. It took me forever to find what I came in for; I had to ask other customers if they knew the store and could help me. Thats just wrong

Do not carry the ever illusive Krylon brush on paint, only the spray paints. Clean store, slightly cramped so heard to navigate with small children. No workers offered me help; however, the woman that rang us out was pleasant enough. Good sale on picture frames and canvas and a good price on chalk paint!

I have been shopping at this Michaels for five years now and tonight I had the best experience there because of one of their employees, Violet. After just leaving a different store where I received very poor customer service, I was feeling pretty burnt out with my evening and being out shopping. Seeing Violet interacting with customers at the checkout, and sharing her cheerful personality with not only the family with young children in front of me, but also with me when it was my turn to have my items ringed up, made me feel so much better, and my prior poor experience at the other store all melted away. Violet is patient, kind, friendly, out-going, and such a wonderful person to serve on the Michaels team. I dont write reviews often, but this one was very deserved. I have always loved this store (especially when the Fall/Halloween seasonal items are out!), but because of Violet now I love it even more. Such a beautiful person, inside and out! And a wonderful location to stay loyal to (even though I now live 2 miles away from a different Michaels!) 5 stars all the way!

Im pretty much in love with this store. One frustration is somewhat deceptive pricing. They offer discount packs that cost more than if you go grab those items off the shelf. Also larger containers seem like a better deal but when you price out the cost per oz or similar, buying several smaller of the same is cheaper. I just keep those things in mind and make sure I price things out, and j still end up with good deals and the items I need. Overall I like the products a lot.

I love the craft stores in America. They are usually sooo much more than just the usual craft. Theres a wide range of stock within a huge variety of crafts at Michaels and making a decision on what to buy is not an easy decision!I love to find sock yarns made from 4ply washable wool so I was keen to see what Michaels had. My grandchildren are now starting to enjoy the satisfaction of making something and my daughter goes here to get them crochet hooks and knitting needles and yarn. Last year she bought them a loom and they made us hats.Great service and staff will direct you in the direction of whatever you are looking for

Michaels tends to be the higher priced of all the big box craft stores. However, Michaels has a lot of special package sizes of brand name products, and lots of store label goods. They also make deals to get certain products labeled just for them. So there are usually good prices on these particular items.They also dont do mailers with coupons, only newspaper ads, email ads, and their app. I cant say they have really great coupons in any of those, especially as they tend to exclude everything. But if you can get them, they help bring the prices down.They have regular sales, and occasionally you can get a great price on a few items at that time, but its not every sale, or every item. Id call the sales stingy.On a better note, they have a pretty good selection, and try to compete with other craft stores in this area. They try to carry different yarns, beads, storage boxes, kits, decor, toys, art supplies, etc etc or at least different colors and brands of these, that the other stores dont stock. So its worthwhile to shop here if you are looking for something you cant find elsewhere.The store doesnt always put out all of its stock. If you need more of a certain item or another color, look for the overstock, or ask an employee to assist you to check. Frankly, theyll try to say they are busy, or will do the minimum in looking, but if you insist, they *will* look, or at least show *you* where to look. Not every employee tries to avoid helping you in this manner, but there have been enough over the the years that it seems to be Michaels standard operating procedure. Now that I know where to look to find these overstock items, I find what I want more often, since other customers havent gotten to it yet (since the staff hasnt put it out). Good for me, but not for other customers.This particular store is fairly well organized, its clean *enough*, well-stocked, has enough cashiers (except during Christmas season when it has EXTREMELY long lines and wait times), and its easy to get in and out from the parking lot.One very annoying thing for some disabled or elderly customers: Michaels only has carts and hand baskets. This means that patrons who use a rolling walker have to balance the hand basket on top of their purse etc on their walker. If it falls, no one will assist in picking up the spilled basket (at least no one has so far). Michaels might take a clue from Jo-Ann stores and get very large, sturdy shopping bags so customers can hang it on their walker handles.All things considered, I rate Michaels 4 stars based on selection and appearance etc, and deducted 1 star for the prices, hiding the stock, and that one issue for users of wheeled walkers.

Do I like what they have to buy..Yes!! One thing I notice being a minority in this particular area is how people ignore me. I can wait in line for 20+ minutes & no one will acknowledge my presence by saying hello, Ill be right with you or ask me what I need. The moment a non minority person comes behind me they immediately open another register or then will say that they will be right with us. This happened when I visited the framing department. It wasnt until a man & women that looked totally different than I did the staff start paying attention to the line. Sad thing is I was next in line but the couple behind me were asked what they needed. Yes they started at the back of the line after I had been waiting 20+ minutes. Staff helped her & I just decided to leave. I get tired of having to address this blatant oversight.
