Omg! If I were king I would decree every town with any sport fishing near by will have a Mitchels Live Bait and Tackle!. We were finished for the day from our salmon charter but still plenty of daylight. They directed us to fishing on breakwater for perch and set us up with minnows and advice. Very friendly, great gear, great advice. Made this father and son team from almost heaven West Virginia vow to make Mitchels a must stop where ever we are in Rochester.

Great place to get your bait has plenty of deals for worms I love going there nice people and can get poles ect from there as well.

Cool store and the people in it nice and friendly. They dont assume that you know everything, they ask and if you say no they will try to explain. It is a big part of servicing customers. A MUST.

I just called this bait shop. The guy that answered the phone was very polite and answered multiple questions I had. He was very helpful in giving me very accurate information and very accurate directions to the front door. Gentleman that I talked to was very nice and when I asked about any ice reports he might have heard about he offered several area reports that he had heard about. Told me about Cranberry Pond, Braddock Bay, and couple other local fishing places I am not familiar with. Gave me few suggestions on ice fishing places and was just super helpful.THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP. I would give them 10 stars if I could!! My husband and I fish all over Rochester and surrounding areas just about every weekend. We will not get bait anywhere else!!! We go out of the way to make sure we can get it there! The baitfish are healthy, the night crawlers are tough unlike Walmarts or Vend a bait machines. Mitchels never disappoints! Ryan is nothing but a great guy, friendly, kind and always has a smile. He takes the time to chat and talk about whats biting and where. The prices are the BEST around on not only bait but tackle too! SHOP LOCAL!! He treats all of his customers so well. I was in there the other day and a few young fellas were asking questions because they were going fishing with their dad. Ryan didnt hesitate to answer every question and even ran out the door after them to hand them a complimentary cup of leaches and told them to keep the sport alive!! We HIGHLY recommend Mitchels!

It has been years since i fished but I have wanted to go again and now that my kids want to do it too I decided to get them some poles. I live in chili but decided to stop by Mitchels because the reviews were really good and hate the Walmarts and big box stores. I love this place. Within 5 mins the guy working there helped us pick out poles that the girls both loved, set us up with bait, and told us a great place for the kids to start fishing. We had a great time too. Thanks! We will be back when we need fishing supplies.

They get one star only because I cant give them less! Since they moved in in 2005 theyve done nothing but harass me in an attempt to get my property which is next to theirs. Maggot-infested garbage cans at the end of the drive...Trash and debris cluttering my driveway are just the tip of the iceberg. Sending friends to deliberately park cars across my driveway and when (politely) asked to move Bob and Ryan come out and call me names I cant repeat here! Today the both of them actually came out with shovels and threw shovelfuls of snow in my face! Takes real brave guys to gang up on a woman! Cops and Neighbor Services have spoken to them several times. Theyve declined mediation.
