Highly recommend this shop if youre looking for exceptional service from the kindest people. The dresses are high quality and absolutely beautiful. Everyone there is so accommodating and went out of their way for me to help make the dress shopping experience much easier!
I entered the shop with almost no idea what I was looking for. I tried on one dress of my choice, which did not suit me. The owner said “I know the dress for you” and brought out what turned out to be my wedding gown. It was like a scene from a movie. It was so perfect for me and suited me well. It was flattering and just…… “me.” They took measurements and the gown was custom made. I also had alterations done here which were perfect! You have to be okay with honesty, and trust the process and experts here. I am SO happy with my dress and experience from Susan Deborah!
Safe to say I will never go back to this store again. The owner judged me right off the bat when I walked in. Immediately she tells me she does not have anything in my age group… and then proceeds to ask me what my age was when I told her I saw some dresses online that I’d like to try on. She then told me she thought I was 15… when I walk into a store I do not expect to be insulted. I am 28 years old, married, and looking for a formal dress for my sisters wedding. I am a paying customer, but clearly they did not want my money…. I did not appreciate her judgement. To top it off, I emailed the store a few days prior asking if they had a particular dress at the store. I sent them a picture of the dress as well. She emailed me back saying she did not. When I walked in there it was on a mannequin in the window. Clearly they do not know their inventory.I do regret even giving the store a chance. I should have walked out immediately when I was judged. I do not recommend this place to anyone.
Cella and her team were absolutely wonderful from start to finish! Cella took one look at me at my initial meeting and knew what style I was envisioning and helped me find the perfect dress. She only carries top designers from America, Canada or Israel and the quality of the designers she carries is unmatched. Cella knows what she’s doing and is a wealth of knowledge. My Sareh Nouri dress was flawless on me and is so classic and timeless. Cella took measurements and it was custom made for my body. Cella also helped my mother find her mother of the bride gown! My mother looked fabulous and is also so happy with her look on my wedding day. Thank you Cella and thank you to your wonderful team!
Extremely helpful and effecient! They knew from the start what wedding dress to show my daughter and suggest for her body type. Highly recommend!
Cella was so amazing! I went to multiple bridal stores before her store and didn’t find anything I liked. I literally tried on 100s of dresses! I was looking for something unique with sparkle, and the first dress she picked out for me was the one!She was so sweet and thoughtful during my time there. The service was excellent.I would recommend this store to anyone looking for a wedding dress! She carries the same brands as Kleinfeld in NYC—which saved me a trip.I’m so happy to have found my dress here.10/10.
Susan Deborah Bridal and everyone who works there were amazing! I had already bought a wedding dress at a different store and when it came in it didnt fit. I was stressed to say the least. I went into Susan Deborah Bridal to look for a mother of the bride dress for my mom, just 6 months before my wedding. I didnt think I could get a new dress in time but the owner of the boutique saw I was stressed and came to my rescue. She told me she could get me a new dress in time if I saw something I liked. I started looking at dresses wishing Id come here for my dress in the first place. I tried on a couple dresses, and absolutely fell in LOVE with one. The owner worked directly with the designer to make sure the dress would come in, not just on time, but well before my wedding. It came in months ahead of time and she didnt even charge me a rush fee. The tailor did an AMAZING job making sure everything fit perfectly. She refused to accept anything but perfection. They all helped me with my accessories (which again they somehow got the custom pieces super quickly) and even helped me decide on hair. Everyone at the shop was so incredibly nice. I could go on and on, but Ill just say, this place was amazing and I literally would not have had a wedding dress if it wasnt for them.
Horrible service, rude and unwelcoming owner. My wife went in with soon to be sister in law. We have our ceremony this year, and hers is next. My wife told the stylist our budget was $5,000, to which she said they don’t have anything that low. Upon looking at some of the reviews, there are many under $5,000 and that’s a large budget. My sister in law has no budget and gets multiple dresses, my wife gets a single dress. The kicker is, some of the dresses my sister in law tried on were under $5,000! Later in the appointment, she comes out again and tells my wife they don’t have anything that cheap, this time in front of the entire party, making everyone uncomfortable and upset. For a place that was suppose to bring a happy and fun day to my wife, you’ve actively ruined the entire experience for her. As somewhere that’s prided on service, you should be horrified and ashamed.
The owner (chella) is amazing! Her style is incredible! She picked out several dresses for me after I described my venue and vision. They were all amazing and fit right into my vision for my day. The dresses and accessories she has are very unique! The head piece, which was a beautiful vintage headband was handmade in Puerto Rico. I also got gorgeous bridesmaids dresses that Chella picked to complement my dress.About 3 years later we had our first child and Chella had the idea of turning my wedding dress into a baptismal gown. It is stunning and we now have the most amazing heirloom to pass down. I wouldn’t recommend anywhere else!
I had the BEST experience at Susan Deborah Bridal. After going to numerous bridal boutiques (not only in Rochester area) I was discouraged until I walked into Susan Deborah. They were so helpful and knew exactly what I was looking for. They pulled dresses for me that were perfect, and I ended up saying YES to one of the dresses designed by Sareh Nouri. It is absolutely perfect. Chela was incredible, she listened to me, and gave me the dress I was envisioning in my head.
The owner and everyone who works at Susan Deborah Bridal have all been so lovely!! I bought my wedding dress here and could not have had a more positive experience! The process went so smoothly and she helped accessorize me with earrings and a wedding veil that all looked so perfectly together. The owner has such beautiful taste with such unique dresses, mother of the bride dresses, gowns, clutches and much more! The shop is immaculate and its so refreshing to have such a high class experience. If you are looking for a wedding dress, a gown or accessories this is the place!!
I seriously don’t think I could have had a better experience than what I had at Susan Deborah Bridal! As an indecisive bride (I have gone to 4 bridal dress shops), I don’t know if I would have been able to find my dream dress without Chela’s help. From the moment we walked in, she met us with such a welcoming positive energy. Chela and Chelsea listened to what I liked/disliked in a dress, walked through their selection with me, helped me try on and narrow down my favorites, ran around to grab different veils and were so kind to my mom and sister. I felt like Chela was in my corner the entire time and she went above and beyond to make me feel so comfortable and confident. We all cried happy tears when I “said yes to the dress”. Afterwards we went to lunch to celebrate, and my mom remarked that the ladies who work in the store made it an experience she would remember forever. I am looking forward to working with Susan Deborah Bridal crew in the upcoming months for alterations and accessories before the big day!!
I highly recommend going to this store if you’re a new bride that doesn’t know where to start. Chela went above and beyond to accommodate me with my budget, style preferences, and even worked with my Religious preference during the fitting. She was understanding and attentive to my desires. The dresses in stock were beautiful and definitely a deal for the impeccable work and quality put into them.Mervat, the seamstress, and Chela were both wonderful! I had 3 bridal salon visits booked in one day to find my dress, and Susan Deborah Bridal was the first one. They were gracious about storing my gown and veil before the wedding and hand pressed them all prior to the big day. I’m honored to say that I have found my dress in this boutique.
Fantastic experience. I had already bought a dress elsewhere that I began having second thoughts about. When looking for bridesmaids dresses, I stopped by Susan Deborah Bridal and the wedding dress I saw on the mannequin captured my heart. The selection they had to offer was so incredible and every gown was unique, not similar to any other ones I’ve seen in other bridal shops. The store owner let me try on the gown and I am so glad I did because that was THE dress. The fabrics felt so pleasant and comfortable to the body . I was truly impressed! Couple days later I came back and decided to place an order. At Susan Deborah Bridal they made me feel so at ease and I truly believe they would not have let me walk out of the store with a dress that I didn’t love.Highly recommended !
They are amazing!!! Extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Excellent customer service and the quality of the dresses is excellent! I would totally recommend it!
This bridal boutique has such a large, modern collection of designers and styles. Every piece they carry is timeless and unique. I am so in love with my Eve of Milady dress and cant wait to wear it. The service was impeccable and cant be compared to any other shop. All of the ladies were very attentive, supportive, kind, and made the whole process so easy going! Thank you for getting me to my dream dress!!
The owner is amazing. She helped me find the perfect dress within the first three dresses I tried on. Mind you, I had already tried on dozens of dresses at three other bridal shops. She really knows her stuff in regards to designers and what looks best on the bride, which was awesome to have her compassionate feedback. Not only did she help me find the best dress, she is extremely accommodating when it comes to payment. I would recommend this place to everyone!
For starters, just go here and no where else. Don’t even waste your time looking elsewhere. I made that mistake... I have gone to almost every bridal shop in upstate NY and even ventured down to NYC for a weekend. I wasn’t getting the “this is my dress” feeling anywhere. My friend told me to go Susan Deborah and within 5 minutes of walking into the door, I said “yes to my dress.” I am also a very picky and indecisive female so that was HUGE for me. I didn’t even try on another dress. The first dress Chela (the wonderful owner) picked out for me was the one!! The ladies who work here are incredible and actually listen to what you want. My only regret is not coming here sooner!!! Thank you for every thing you ladies have done, you have made this intimidating process a breeze!
I have been to multiple bridal shops in search for a unique looking wedding dresses . After having no luck with the local bridal salons I finally scheduled an appointment at Susan Deborah Bridal. When I entered the boutique I was pleasantly greeted by 3 sweet ladies with big smiles and a welcoming eagerness to assist. We chatted about my wedding for a bit which made me feel very comfortable. Chela was professional and she listened to me as I explained exactly what I was looking for. She picked out 5-6 dresses, and the second one she brought out ended up being the one! I was impressed with the unique styles they carry, the fabrics are so beautiful and light.I have had many people reach out to me after my wedding day asking where my dress is from because it is truly one of a kind.I’m so grateful to Susan Deborah Bridal team for the amazing experience I had there!
I don’t know how this place only has 3 stars. I had the best experience at Susan Deborah Bridal. I went there because it was the only place in the area that said they had the dress I found online. It was perfect! My dream wedding dress come true! They did all the alterations perfectly! I loved going there. I had a great wedding dress experience because of them!
My daughter went in for a head piece to wear to a wedding. She did not take the time to thoroughly read what she signed when she put the piece on the credit card. That was her mistake. BUT - she thought she was purchasing an inexpensive headpiece. Once she got home, she realized it was $400. The store was closed by then. She immediately went back Monday morning (today) and the woman refused to take the piece back. When I called the store myself and asked her to respectfully reconsider as my daughter cannot afford a $400 purchase, she said too bad, she signed a contract. I believe that this is an unacceptable way to do business. They must not have many sales if they need to take advantage of people like this. I told the woman I would leave this kind of review and she said go ahead and do whatever you want. Google review, check. I will now look for other platforms to leave a poor review.
If I could give a zero star I would. Never would revisit again. The lady was completely rude. She made my friend who was on a budget feel like she was worthless because of it. I highly recommend Sharron at Scarlet Bridal instead. She was amazing. She made everyone involved feel like a superstar while the other lady belittled my bride and made her feel like a complete waste.
After visiting two salons prior to my appointment, I finally found my dress at this salon! From the start, the owner was attentive and understanding of what I was looking for. She worked with me to find a dress that was flattering to my figure and on my budget. She’s amazing at her job and I cannot thank her enough for her service. Definitely a great experience and recommend to any bride !
Chela and Chelsea were lovely, better yet the entire store and girls were LOVELY! I was in search of a last minute evening gown for a late January holiday party (way past holidays I know!). They have a beautiful selection of gowns, and allowed me to play dress up until I found the perfect dress! They were all very helpful in asking the right questions and guiding me in finding the right fit! I received so many compliments! Thank you ladies! I will definitely be back!
This was the third boutique I visited and they had by far the best selection of wedding dresses. Plus the owner was super helpful and knowledgeable about her brands, I ended up trying on a Lazaro that she recommended and I fell in love with it! Everyone was great and they just made me feel comfortable and special. Overall it was a great experience and would highly recommend this shop.
The owner picked out some amazingly beautiful dresses. Every one look absolutely stunning on me. Unfortunately we didnt talk about prices until after and they were above a comfortable range for me. I was still figuring out what was available at different prices at this time. The owner offered to sell me the samples at heavily discounted rates. I ended up purchasing my dress elsewhere, but I still remember one dress in particular and love it with all my might.
Definitely recommend! I bought my dress, veil and earrings here. More about my experience below. These ladies are experts, and they will give you their expert opinion -- I think sometimes people (esp brides) may have a certain idea in their mind going into the shopping process of what style they want / what will look good and it may be hard to hear otherwise. The women here will not just sell you something to sell you something -- they want to make sure you look and feel beautiful! This was something that I personally was very thankful for :)I dont live in the area but was getting married about an hour away. While in town for a few bridal appointments I stopped by to try on a dress I had previously tried on in Nordstroms -- I had gone to 6 boutiques in LA and wasnt really satisfied with anything. The staff was aware I was coming in just for this one dress but after trying it on, they insisted I try an alternate dress on. It was the one! And far LESS expensive than the dress I came in to try on.They were very supportive, patient and helpful throughout the rest of the process -- they allowed me to push my fittings as close the wedding as possible, and had the dress ready to go in an hour after my last try on (the day before my wedding). They were incredibly patient with my veil decision, which I also made the day before my wedding and helped me pick out the perfect earrings! I consulted them on both hair and make-up and felt very glamorous on the day of my wedding thanks to them!Felt the need to leave a review based on the poor ratings theyve received -- they did not judge me based on my ring or budget but truly wanted to find me something that I looked good in.
This is a long overdue review. I was married in September of 2017, and each and every day I think about my wedding, the one thing that I wish I could take back or change about the day is my dress. We had a private appointment, which was nice, but I felt rushed the entire time. The staff kept pulling dresses completely different from what I was asking for. Also, we were yelled at to not take any photos; so I had nothing to look at and digest before making a very large financial and emotional commitment. That should have been my first sign to walk away. I was told that I had to order a dress THAT day if I wanted it in time for my wedding, she gave me no option to buy off the rack. I tried on a Hayley Paige gown and from what I remember that day (as I again dont have any photos to go back on), it looked stunning on me! However, my measurements must have been grossly miscalculated, as when the dress arrived, it was horrible! I hadnt fluctuated in weight one pound from when I tried the sample on, and the dress was very ill fitting. How do you stomach spending $5,000 on a dress that you now hate? It was altered that day and it was still horrible. I also made a point to mention that it was an outdoor wedding so I was concerned about the length so I wouldnt step on it, and was told that this dress would be just fine. The tulle was not altered short enough and I tore my dress not 10 minutes after the ceremony. I not only felt pressured to pick a dress, but the dress I chose was altered and measured completely wrong! The fit could easily have been the manufacturers as well, however I absolutely hated my dress and my experience. I wish I had the courage enough to stick up for myself.
With a short time frame and specific dress style in mind I thought I was asking for the impossible. But the women at Susan Deborah Bridal knew exactly what to do, and performed nothing less than a miracle to transform a gown into the perfectly ideal dress fit just for me. Professional, encouraging, efficient, and just all around brilliant, I cant recommend them enough!
I loved my experience at Susan Deborah! My party and I drove down from Toronto, Canada to look for a specific Lazaro gown. Leading up to my appointment, Chela and other ladies in a store were super responsive and answered all of my (many!) questions. They made me feel so welcomed and important. My face was glowing when I tried on the Lazaro gown! I didn’t want to take it off, I felt it was the ONE!Chela took my measurements and explained me how the process will go. I love that they do alterations in house! Needless to say, the same gown would cost me much more in Canada, so I’m very happy I’ve made a trip and ordered my dream dress at this boutique!I sincerely recommend this place to the brides-to-be!
I cannot even begin to describe how wonderful my experience with Susan Deborah Bridal has been. I found my absolute DREAM of a dress and was only given the best service. I had shopped at other places, but never felt the connection to the staff like I do at Susan Deborah. All of the ladies have been super accommodating to my difficult schedule. I would recommend nothing other than Susan Deborah for the girl who wants that extra TLC when planning their wedding!
For best results COME HERE!!!This will forever be my go-to place when looking for specialty dresses/gowns. My first experience here was as a MOH and the customer service and KNOWLEDGE of fashion and good eye for “the right” dress is HERE at Susan Deborah. I felt like a movie star in my first dress from here so I returned for my own bridal gown and I am so glad I did! Owner Chela knows her stuff and stays current with fashion and her staff, Tatiana and Chelsea, are very personable and accommodating. The seamstress, Mervat, WORKS WONDERS and all my attire from here has turned out perfectly. I have become very close with these ladies who have spent hours with me to ensure my bridal gown was PERFECT. I will always give them my business for their advice, customization, amazing customer service, and end result because they sure know what they are doing. Thank you ladies for making my wedding so special and memorable!
If I could give 0 stars I would. Where to even start. I was in LA on vacation and came across a designer that this store also happened to carry. The designer is eve of milady. When I went to the store to even look around they told me I couldnt look around by myself. They kept asking my style and then would show me stuff that wasnt me. Then I asked nicely if one could be taken off the mannequin because I loved it and the owner asked me do you know how much that dress is? Wow huge mistake. You never insult a customer or judge a book by its cover. Even though they had the designer I liked and were only a 10 min drive away I traveled all the way to Syracuse and dropped over $4000 on my dress with any alterations. As a business owner myself I know that treating people with respect is the way that you earn someone business.
I cant say enough wonderful things about this boutique! I was in a crunch to get my bridesmaid dress fitted as I live out of town from where the wedding took place. Chela told me not to worry and allowed me to come in only two days before the wedding. I met with Mervat and she pinned it all in a very timely manner and I came back the next day to pick it up. My dress fit perfectly! I cannot thank the women of Susan Deborah Bridal enough for their patience and hard work!
Wedding dress shopping is not an easy fate and can cause even the calmest brides some frazzled nerves. Before visiting Susan Deborah Bridal, I had been to few other bridals in Rochester that left me wanting to ditch the dress and run off to Vegas. I came into Susan Deborah tired and little disappointed from my dress hunt and they were not only understanding, they paired me with an amazing stylist who was able to turn my experience completely around!Chela listens to what you are looking for. She has the ability to access your body type and marry that to a dress that fits your style. Almost every dress looked beautiful on me, fit my budget and in the end I ended up finding The Dress of my dreams.Thank you!
Seriously, if I could zero stars I would. Upon arrival, we asked about our budget. My mother, my aunt and I expressed that we wanted to keep the price reasonable, but if I tried on something I really liked, we would make it work. The rude, older women with the accent put me in two gowns that were so small, I couldnt get an idea of what they actually looked like. She brought out a third, which actually fit, and basically told me it was the dress I should buy. I didnt like it at all,and let her know politely that it wasnt what I was looking for. She then told me she had nothing else to show me. I left close to tears. Not at all how I thought Id feel looking for my wedding dress! What a waste of time as well! I could have scheduled another appointment!
Run away fast! If I could pot zero stars I would! I couldnt have been more appalled by the staff here. My daughter and I came to just look at wedding dresses for my upcoming wedding. Im not unfamiliar with the bridal industry and of course knew that bridal salons request appointments, but to be greeted so unprofessionally because we didnt have an appointment was pretentious to say the least. Then, when we tried to browse, to be told it is store policy that we cannot even look I was completely disgusted. I have no idea how this store stays in business. May I suggest taking your business to Katherine Patricia in Fairport? They were wonderful in every way! (And yes, you can just look!)
Short story: RUN AWAY NOW. If I could give zero stars, I would! You will not be treated with respect. Horrible service. They talk down on you. We were rushed out of there. And they do not care what you are looking for, only what THEY think will look good on your body.Long story: We booked an appointment at Susan Deborah to look for a wedding dress. We entered the store and were met with the older woman (presumably the owner) and did not even get a hello. No small talk, no how are you, not even the question of what type of dress are you looking for or talks of budget. Off to a great start. She immediately brings the bride over to some dresses and starts looking at them. The woman starts pulling dresses, still not really saying much or asking the bride her preferences. The bride starts talking about the style of dresses she likes. The woman responds saying how she will pick dresses that she thinks will look good on her. Ok, judgy. Next, the bride mentions her budget. The woman turns and says All our dresses are made in the US and are high quality. For your budget you can get a dress from China. She turns and continues to pick out dresses for the bride without considering her thoughts or opinions. So, after learning her dresses are all $3,000 + we (bridesmaids and family) start pulling dresses ourselves. This is one of the brides first appointments, so we are still trying to figure out what fit and style she likes. We explained this to the woman. The bride asks if we can just leisurely look around and pick some dresses. She snapped back and said NO do not touch the dresses. I am trying to find something you can afford.Looking back, Im not sure how we didnt walk out right there and there.Onto the dress fitting, where the bride tries on a couple of dresses that do not even fit over her head. She is very average sized, maybe a size 6, but I think all the dresses in the shop were a size 0 or 2. At one point I go to grab a dress that looks like something the bride would like. The woman comes over and says No, she can only try on 5 dresses. She did not tell the bride this. And what shop has a 5-dress rule? So, what next, if we didnt find The One, were SOL? It was obvious she just wanted us to leave. I have never heard of booking an appointment for a time frame yet only being allowed to try on a certain number of dresses. We were out of there within 15 minutes. We all left angry and frustrated. What a waste of time. To the shop owner: Do not treat your clients like they are lesser than you. If you were welcoming and listened to the brides preferences, you never know, you could have sold the bride on a dress over her budget.I do not know how this woman keeps business. Please save yourself the stress and DO NOT GO HERE. You will not be treated with respect.
I dont understand the negative reviews. THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! We were treated with the most respect and professionalism compared to the other salons I went to. We called to schedule an appt and they accommodated us to get us in that day. The very first dress I tried on - was my dress. I would highly highly highly recommend people to go there for there wedding dress!
Owner was professional and helpful, cut the price down a lot. Beautiful designer gowns. Different than most of the shops in Rochester. Love my dress!
I went to several bridal boutiques around Rochester area, all of which carried very similar styles and didn’t have what I was looking for. My mom and I were on our way back from one such place and drove past Susan Deborah Bridal and we decided to stop on a whim.Chela and other ladies were amazing. Very friendly and knew what they were doing .Chela listened to everything I wanted, asked the right questions and pulled some really beautiful dresses and my mom got a showing room all to herself! I ended up with a completely different dress than what I had in my mind. I went with one of Limor Rosen’s wedding gowns. It’s unique, whimsical and very romantic. Chela knew the moment that I put it on from the look on my face that this was it. I tried on a couple more dresses just in case but no other one gave me same feeling. My experience there was fantastic and the staff was great! I can hardly wait for my dream dress to come in!
If I could give zero stars I would. I am responding to Susan Deborahs outrageous reply to a review that my bridesmaid, Paula, wrote of our experience from that day. They wanted the brides review, so here it is:I went to Susan Deborah with a large party this past weekend. It was my second appointment out of three that my MOH had lined up for the day. However, this was by far my least favorite appointment – I left in tears. Upon arrival, I was hardly greeted with pleasantries. Aside from not discussing my budget before looking at dresses – my dress style preference, wedding date, wedding aesthetic, were not discussed. Every other dress shop I had been had this conversation with me before pulling dresses - these are crucial pieces of information to know before a bridal consultant can assist in pulling dresses that are right for me. After hearing that finding dresses at their store would be difficult to find in my budget of $1,500, I thought I would turn this appointment into a fun style focused appointment rather than a budget concerned one. However the consultant continued to walk me around, pulling random dresses and asking “how about this one”, “this one?” “you like this?” over and over. This was extremely overwhelming, as I did not get a chance to even explain what I was looking for in a dress!I was not being heard. I started to look through the dresses myself, as was my party, because we didn’t feel the consultant was nailing what I was looking for. We were asked to stop, myself included, as the consultant was “focused on finding dresses that I could afford”, even though I told her I was no longer concerned about budget. I had a group of ladies with me who came dress shopping, so even if the dresses weren’t in my budget, I wanted to try a few on just to get an idea of what shape would look good on me and what I liked/didn’t like in a dress. However I had asked this of her multiple times and I was ignored.Trying on dresses was an actual nightmare. The first dress the consultant put me in was having a hard time zipping, so she was having me suck in and hold it and squeeze my body every which way. HELLO, it’s not going to fit, where are the clips?! I realize not every dress is going to fit me, but don’t make me feel like a cow! Don’t pull the dress if I’m not going to be able to get it on my body! There was a different time that just she and I were in the room and she told me “the straight dresses won’t look so good on you. You will need the dresses with more room at the bottom”. Gee, thanks.I tried on a few different dresses, and each time I went out to the pedestal, the consultant virtually disappeared. She was not there to hear the reactions; she was not there to help me up onto the pedestal when the dress was so tight I could hardly lift my leg. She took the dresses off so aggressively that I still have SCRATCHES on my chest and back from the beading of the gowns one week later. My party could see how uncomfortable I was feeling and tried to help by making the appointment lighthearted but there was no saving the appointment at that point. I faked a stomachache just so I could leave, and left in tears, disheartened, frustrated, embarrassed, and discouraged.Aside from this terrible experience, my bridesmaid, Paula, had kindly offered to write a review of what occurred on my behalf because I was so distraught. And, it’s no secret in the wedding world that the bride often has a lot to do. Everything she stated in her review was an accurate description of our experience from that appointment, and I am dismayed that Susan Deborah Bridal responded to Paula’s review in a defensive way rather than in an apologetic one. My bridesmaid was not out of line by writing the review, her behavior was not disrespectful, and she will certainly NOT be a future customer of yours. This is not the bridal shop for the warm and fuzzies. You will not feel like you are being listed to. You will not feel like they truly want to help you find your dream dress.
I am from Toronto, Canada and fell in love with a gown in Toronto that was WAY over my budget. After going to many other bridal boutiques and trying on a million dresses, I just couldn’t shake that dress I fell in love with. After searching far and wide for this specific gown at a lower price, I found Susan Deborah Bridal. As soon as I found out they had my gown, I road-tripped it all the way to Rochester, New York with my family to see the dress of my dreams. That is where I met my fairy godmother, Chela. She gave me my dream dress (including alterations and extra length because I’m tall) AND the matching veil for my exact budget. I was thrilled and just couldn’t believe it. I felt like I was destined to find her. She was super professional and gave her honest opinion to me about every detail I questioned. We had a hiccup when my dress came in 5 inches too short but she totally vouched for me and spoke with the designer and got me another dress with the proper length and size within a month! She opened up shop for me on the days they were closed just so she could alter my dress as she knew we had come from a ways and our schedules were tight. Without her, I don’t know what I would have done. I would highly recommend this place to any bride looking for their dream dress. They also have an incredible selection. I saw many other beautiful gowns. Thanks to Chela and her team, I felt beautiful on my wedding day and have zero regrets. Go to this place!!
Susan Deborah is a beautiful shop that instantly gave me the feeling I was looking for when gown shopping- I wanted the experience to be calm, special, and feel like it had a purpose. At this shop you dont sift through racks randomly- Chella takes you through the different styles available in your price range and that would fit your body type. I know others have complained about the relatively minor limitations she maintains, but she is so knowledgable about her dresses and body types, and is truly an expert- my first point- and really knows what shes doing. There is a purpose behind the structure.I went to so many stores that put me in dress after dress, never admitting that they just didnt have what I was looking for. Which brings me to me second point: She wont waste your time. I came in with really only ideas of things I didnt want, and she pulled only three dresses for me (yes, only three) including a dress that I initially crossed off the list. As I had been to 8 other stores in the Buffalo area, I decided to still give it a shot. When I put it on, before I looked in the mirror she said, this is your dress- and she was right! I was there less than 30 minutes and I had already found my dress, after all of that other searching- all because of the expertise she brought to the table. To address some of the other comments: You get structure in your appointment and someone that will give you an honest- expert opinion. Which, yes is different than most people are used to, but is really to your benefit. This means that she doesnt say that you look amazing in every dress you put on- which is the truth (!), which makes you not waste your time and money, which means you dont get a mediocre dress, and would make THE dress less special if it really was true. You get an individualized appointment with wonderful, attentive service (one bride at a time, with at least one other helper in addition to herself), structured around her experience in this field and high quality gowns. I cannot say enough good things about her, and the other staff, and would highly recommend this shop to any bride who is looking for a special experience and a very special, upscale gown. You get what you pay for, which is high quality gowns and service. I have recommended this shop to so many of my friends- all of whom have purchased their dresses from her as well, and have loved not only their gowns, but the experience as well.
Horrible. If you want to be treated as if your worthless go shopping there. The owner is lucky I was not there when she was being grossly rude to my fiance and future mother in law. Best go anywhere else..
Horrible service. They should be ashamed of themselves! Please choose any other bridal shop to ensure you dont have unnecessary stress and headaches on your big day
I went with my family and was immediately asked my age upon entering the store without any other form of acknowledgement. Im 26, and not certain why my age would have any bearing on selecting a wedding dress. She then told me to wait while she stood behind the desk and made phone calls and I was left trying to keep my mother from losing her temper. She didnt ask my budget and assumed I could not afford anything in her store and suggested I try Davids Bridal; and then she saw my ring and I became sweetheart. Once she realized I lived in the NYC area and worked for Tesla Motors she became sticky sweet. Needless to say I left without purchasing a thing nor bothering to try on more than the 1 dress she insisted I try. I bought a gorgeous dress from Alfred Angelo same day for a fraction of the cost and none of the attitude.
This salon is wonderful. Many have been saying negative things about rudeness and such, but that is only because Chella is honest and cares about how the brides look. This salon is great for those who are looking to spend a good, not so little amount on their dress. I payed $6500 for mine and the starting price is about $3500 to $4000 for their salon. This is only because they carry the high end designers you would find in kleinfeld such as Lazaro, Hailey Page, etc. I came there looking for a lazaro dress. As soon as i said Lazaro and ballgown, Chella pulled three dresses for me. They were not what i was looking for but she insisted. Thank goodness she did! The first dress was amazing and after trying the others on and going to other salons i knew it was the one! She is always honest and will tell you if something looks funny or weird, she does hold back her opinion, so you learn to accept the honesty, she only wants the best. The salon is nice and privately owned which i love! I left with the dress of my dreams and the wedding veils are also beautiful! This salon may be pricey for some, so if your looking for something cheaper then it might not be the place for you.
I initially visited Kleinfeld hoping to have a Say Yes to the Dress moment, but unfortunately everything came up short. I decided to visit Susan Deborah Bridal and couldnt have been happier with my experience. First, I was the ONLY bride there. Talk about personal service (especially after competing with 10+ brides at Kleinfeld). Second, Chula is seriously the Wedding Dress Whisperer. She listened to my vision, then found the PERFECT dress that fit my vision, budget, and that would look best on my body. I cant wait to try it on again when it comes in in August! Thanks to the whole staff there!
This was my first stop to look for a gown. I was treated very unkindly and I felt very ugly and discouraged when I walked out the door- without even trying anything on. :(
