I bought a vehicle from Auto sound systems for a premium price due to the truck looked in good shape, I told the guys the battery was weak and wanted a new one, needless to say they put a new one in it along with brake booster, master cylinder, New cv shaft, and wheel hub. All items i described to them i wanted them to look at the first time it was in the shop after purchase. They fought tooth and nail the entire way through getting the truck fixed. Then tried to lie to me on getting a key made for 180 bucks when I had it made for 70 dollars. These people are a joke and can not be held to their word. Worthless people you CAN NOT trust. I will never recommend to anyone or will i ever do business with them again. Do not give them your business.

There favorite goto is a bypass module. I heard it three times while I waited over three hours for a alarm installation. I don’t know how these people stay in business. I went from a $149 alarm to $289.65 when they were done with my car. Worked good for six months. Then tried to get it fixed. Got blown off and told to « bring car in and they’ll try and get to it ». No thanks

This is the worse experience I had with any place in my entire life. I went in for a radio the sat was not explained to me i said I wanted radio not sat so an extra 100 dollar charge I didnt want. Not to mention I dropped of my car to install a new radio. They did not even call me to ask me how I wanted an adjustable radio installed. Therefore I had to come back to get it adjusted. They still did not call me again and asked me to make sure it is what I wanted. Worst customer service ever!!!!. I would recommend to u take your money ANYWHERE here.

Ive used this shop and handful of times over the past 5 years- to install stereos and speakers, and recently to install a backup camera. Rick is always straight up with costs and details and their pricing is fair. Their pricing was half of another shop I called for the same service. Ill keep using Auto Sound Systems and will continue to recommend them.

Shop elsewhere. I purchased a remote start for $179, total with install was $279+ tax. A few months later I purchased a new vehicle. I had remote removed from older vehicle by an independent mechanic in the hopes of reinstalling by Auto Sound in the new vehicle.Called Auto Sound and was told cost to reinstall is $150. What is wrong with this picture? Did they overcharge for the original remote, did I pay $179 when I should have paid $129? Or are they trying to rip me off now? The remote didnt work well anyway, it didnt seem to connect until i was within 20 feet of the vehicle.Shop elsewhere.

They (reasonably) quoted and professionally installed a ham radio control cable and Lido mount in my car. Sales staff was helpful and installer asked good questions before starting the job. I strongly recommend.

I got a radio from them thinking that it had backup camera on it so when i go to get it done I found out I dont have it I been going to them for years but now I will not go buy nothing from them and i going to tell everyone i know to never go there aging

To be honest, this place does not even deserve a star. Less than a year ago I went in to get a remote car starter installed. As a college student, it was definitely expensive but I thought it would be worth it since sometimes I leave my car and dont back to it anywhere between 6 and 10 hours later. After a few months, the screen started turning black. Also, about 60% of the time, my car wouldnt start. I would walk to the parking lot and the car would be off. My father and I went into the shop to get it checked out since the car starter had a 1 YEAR WARRANTY. The guy at the front desk did not greet us or give us the time of day. When my dad explained the issues, he said you have to buy a new one...even though we had the warranty. He didnt offer help or apologize for the fact that one of their highly esteemed and quality products had failed miserably. I felt uncomfortable in the shop and in the hundreds of places I have gone to, I have NEVER received such terrible customer service. I felt like they just wanted my money and then were done with me. I can undoubtedly say that I will NEVER go back and would NEVER recommend it to anyone. Dont waste your time....go somewhere else that hires professional and helpful employees.

Was told by the guy behind the counter it would be 140 dollars for a bypass due to the security on my Jeep. Thats funny. The fine print says nothing about extras for security. Heres what the fine print says for extra expenses.Extra labor charges may apply on complex vehicles, push start, and standard transmission vehicles. Nothing about security systems or alarms. I asked the guy behind the counter to read that. He said he is not going to read it and proceeded to tell me I was acting like a sissy . Very professional. Well done. Back in January, my wife and I had Auto Sound Solutions install a pair of car starters into our vehicles. They offered the best value and turn around time in town. But that isnt what my review is about. Last month my wife was in a car accident. After the repairs were completed, her car starter no longer would start her car. I popped in after work the other day to see if the Auto Sound guys could give me a little help. Long story short, they took my wifes car in immediately and in no time at all, figured out the problem. And no, they didnt charge me a dime, thanks guys. In Summary, I wholeheartedly recommend their services to those who like to get into a warm vehicle in the winter, or a cool one in the summer. Auto Sound Systems was great! They were super friendly and really helped us get the right speakers, stereo and install for a great price! They did a great job of explaining the product and features. I am surprised at the negative reviews on here, this was our 5th visit over the past few years for various things and we never experienced anything negative. Keep up the good work guys!

I received a FREE FULLY PAID FOR automatic car starter voucher for Xmas. I showed up and this neanderthal told me my car starter was paid for TWICE.....FULLY PAID FOR.....I ended up paying $140 for some security bypass fee all this idiot told me was that my car was so secure. Call for Price on a remote starter set up an appointment, and when I went to pick up the car and pay for the unit they charge me an extra 80 bucks, bacause I need it a module but they never told me over the phone or call me when they were working on my car, so had no choice to pay for it,because if I didnt want the unit I still had to pay for the labor work so they got me either way, bad Business and costumer service, dont recommend they to anyone!!!! Then I found out that other store had it way cheaper by 100 bucks.

Apparently I cant give it zero stars. I had my ignition interlock serviced here and I have already found a new shop to service it going forward. It was negative 20 this morning and my car started up no problem and I drove there. When I got there the owner told me there would be a 25 dollar charge because my battery was dead. There was no way my battery was dead. I had no problem with the battery prior to this and no problem since. I complained to him and told him this was neither accurate nor fair but he didnt seem to care. Even if it was dead, which it wasnt, the normal thing to do would be to say Ill jump it this time but next time I might have to charge you. He charged me a labor charge to jump a car which didnt have a dead battery! After I got in the vehicle to leave, he walked up to the car, opened the passenger door, poked his head in the car, cursed at me and told me to find someone else to service the vehicle because he didnt need people like me coming there. He did this because I said I would write a review on-line. I felt threatened and disturbed. I had to call Mastercard to dispute the charge and I had to notify Smart Start. They also broke my dash board when installing it. I know a bunch of other people that have had to go here for ignition interlocks and the feedback has been bad, bad, bad. The owner was unprofessional, rude and abrasive. Please heed all the bad reviews on here. Thank god my experience with them is over.

TL;DR VERSION:These guys are filthy con artists. Go elsewhere. Paid them $50 to literally do nothing, and lie to me about my speakers.LONG VERSION:I had a standard 2 speaker plus subwoofer and amp system in my 99 Jeep. I lost sound in the left side and after some trouble shooting figured out the speaker wire in my door had just gone bad (probably salt and general ware and tear).Its mid-winter and I dont have a heated shop so I decided to pay someone else to take care of it for me -- first mistake.I called and explained the situation, then arrived the next day without an appointment. They made me sign a paper saying the minimum labor charge is $45 +tax ($50.23 total) -- second mistake.I waited an hour and a half for him to come out and give me a vague answer about how the whole system is trash. He said you need new speakers I asked why and his response, you need new speakers.Bear in mind I just had my head unit and speakers bench tested before I arrived and both were working/sounding great.I asked, well what do you recommend? -- third mistake. He replied Power Bass. Theyre really reliable and the best weve got. Only $90 a pair. Power Bass are, by all accounts, the trash bin of car audio. Not to mention $90 a pair is outrageous.I went home furious that I just got conned out of $50. So I called later and politely asked again why he thought I needed new speakers. Well you want it to work right dont you? You need new speakers. The whole thing needs to be redone. Yeah, one of the speakers has a hole in it. I looked at my speakers once again and wouldnt know it, theyre both perfectly fine.So I took my Jeep to Best Buy in Victor and they had it working like a charm in under an hour using my original system which was trash according to these guys.If the better business bureau is still relevant I plan to go there next. These guys are just short of thieves and crooks.

It was the worst ever. It started as a living social coupon for 99.00. I get there and of course addition equipment is needed to bypass the security systems totaling 138.00. They kept my truck for 3-4 hrs. None of this information is given up front. I was told it would take 1-2 hrs. I decided not to wait and have someone pick me up. I called to make sure they were finished before picking up my truck. Everything appeared fine that is until I tried to start my truck in the parking lot at work to discover the alarm horn is continuing to sound off. I called the shop to inform them. I was told to bring it back and in the mean while unlock the doors before starting the vehicle. I bring the truck back in at the shops convenience not mines. There appears to be no consideration or compensation for your inconvenience at all. I am then informed that addition equipment is needed or an upgrade to eliminate that problem. If I agreed to the upgrade it was not convenient for the shop to install it today so I would need to come back and this would take another 2-3 hrs. But of course he would give me a discount. Lucky me. I decided to not fall into their money pit any further. Unhappy camper is an understatement. Im suprise this place is still in business. Had I taken out the time to research before purschasing my coupon on living social I would have went somewhere else. PLEASE DONT GO THERE!!

I had a really bad experience with them. Theyre all about the money and fail to express their gratification for your shopping with them. Instead, you receive an attitude as though, YOU need THEM. I assumed they would tell me if there were. they assumed I would ask if there were. was told to drive off the lot so they can pull a car out because they have no space for parking. drove back on the lot. they blocked off one of the entrances with cones and the other entrance was blocked with an svu. one of the workers told me to get out of my car and move the cones myself to get out.

Theyll get you with a Groupon or living social add for free remote car starter installation or 50% off. The fine print does say additional costs may apply but me & my wife were not expecting the security by-pass which it looks by other reviews they tell most people. After using my free car starter & installation living social my car was an additional $160 and my wifesaid newer push starter was $220. Talk about sticker shock, on a living social. Havent shoped around on pricing, but I feel scammed. How about you guys be more up front when your coupon people call up? Service was slow and also heard other customers complain about bad service while waiting for my car to get done (made me nervous). My car was done before my wifes, and went out to eat. Glad we had to come back to get my wifes car, because my starter didnt work when I tried it. Overall, will not be back, and will tell others to steer clear.

I purchased a bluetooth radio installation and that same day I noticed that the fm radio stations had static. Everything else worked fine. I called the next day and the guy told me my only option was to come back and get a better one. If it was such low quality, why would they sell it in the first place? Didnt even offer to check the one that they installed to make sure the antenna was installed correctly. I almost want to believe that this one done on purpose because he tried to get me get a higher cost one in the first place. I will not be returning for any of the services I planned on getting upgraded in my vehicle.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Rude service, FRAUDULENT charges. I purchased a Groupon for 50% off of a remote car starter installation. When presenting the coupon, the owner made sure I knew that he made no money off of this which I found to be unprofessional and, quite frankly, none of my concern because he-himself had to sign up for the promotion. A quote for my service (without the Groupon accounted for) was $229.00 plus tax, however after using my Groupon (a supposed $199.00 value that covered the remote starter AND installation) my total cost ended up around $240.00 plus tax. Auto Sound Systems did not honor their promotion and their service was horrible. I am considering disputing the transaction with my card company as the charges they added were fraudulent. DO NOT GO THERE.

Service after the install? Forget it! Had problems with my Pioneer radio. Went back, and they said it was the speakers. Had another company check them (Sparkys on Lyell Ave), and one speaker was bad, but replaced them all anyway. Went back to Auto Sound again,still poor sound, and they said probably was the antenna. I asked it be serviced (only 6 mos old). and under warranty. They said it would take a week. Turned out it needed a circuit board. Took 3 1/2 weeks to get it back. The service center (in Syracuse) didnt receive it until 10 days after they pulled it out. Probably sat at the shop. I had to call Pioneer and complain about the dealer to get any action. If these guys say theyre going to call you, dont hold your breath. Forget them...

I never had a problem with no one or their services at Auto Sound .staff were professional and I was always satisfied with the results of my car audio systems .I recommend that you ask for Rick he will take care of you not saying the other guy wouldnt just always dealt with Rick.

I have never had a more degraded experience in a retail location. im not sure what anyone else considers a few minute wait but over an hour is ridiculous. i understand that things take time and computers can go down but attitudes are something th a t can be controlled and apparently the two gentelmen who seem to have all of the customer interaction have the worst attitudes ive seen. not just with me but while i was sitting in the waiting room for more than an hour i saw 3 other disgruntled customers. one custome was told that her car would be ready by 3pm, when she arrived at 3:05 to pick up her car she was told that it hadnt even been started and that they would get to it before they closed. there is no concern for the customer by the guys at the desk. the only good thing i could say was about one of the installers, the one with the tattoos and the piercings was very pleasant on my past visits. needless to say i didnt even get what i needed done on this visit. over an hour of waisted time and a poor attitude to boot. i hope there is a change for future customers sake. i will not be returning!
