This place is phenomenal... yes its expensive relatively speaking. Im normally not a fan of these new hipster joints in ROC, that think they can charge NYC prices... BUT this place is worth it. Best breakfast Ive had in a while. Iced Mocha they made for me was insanely good and the breakfast sandwich was perfect. I will absolutely be coming back.
Love the look of this place - You walk into the main entrance, and then you have to go down a few stairs. So it makes you feel like youre going into an underground coffee house, but yet it is bright and open with natural light. There is also outdoor seating and plenty of parking. The selection of coffees are always changing as they have Feature coffee beans from all over the world. And their Cortados are like the Cabernets of coffee - Sipped like a fine wine.
Glen Edith boasts a very urban and rustic feeling coffee shop that offers pour over coffee and knowledge. I say that because Glen Edith is a roaster that takes a lot of pride in the nitty gritty of coffee brewing. Grind size consistency matters to them. So does the origin of the bean and the profile of it. And their NY maple Latte is incredible! From what I have tried, they like their medium/ dark roast coffee. I have yet to have a very fruity, citrusy light roasted coffee from them but hopefully I am either wrong or Glen Edith releases some new coffee in the future!
Great atmosphere. You can sit down and meet a friend here or bring your laptop and get some work done. Drinks are great and, I believe, reasonably priced. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend checking Glen Edith on Elton St out for some warmth on a cold Rochester day.
The sandwich I had was intolerable. Something should happen to gluten free bread between the fridge and the plate. Youve got to warm it, toast it, grill it, something. And why all the raw onion on a breakfast sandwich? Cook it or serve it with a toothbrush.I do love your coffee so I couldnt give you just one star. Youve got so much potential for greatness, please dream bigger 💜
Lovely coffee bar. Great atmosphere and charming staff.
Coffee is good and they have plenty of other great drinks. You may not always be able to get a seat if its busy but thats typically not a big issue.the food they have is good but a little pricey and is somewhat limited menu.
So the location while somewhat hidden is great. The space is lovely. The prices are a bit high, the coffee roasting not the best in town. The employees are mostly pretty good. The owner is mixed. Go here if you need to write or have a private convo. The cappuccino is prob the best drink.
Excellent service, delicious coffee. I was having a hard time with my toddler when I came into the coffee shop and the baristas were so kind. The coffee was fast and delicious. Mellow atmosphere. Will definitely return. This place is a gem!
Love Glen Edith! Its such a cozy atmosphere. I work here and interview new hires all the time. They have a private room I can use with no issues. Their drinks are awesome and the staff is so warm.
I like this location better than the other one since it has a lot more seating and parking available. The only downside is there aesthetic in the design isnt quite the same as the other, if anything this one doesnt quite look finished yet. The coffee is the same excellent quality youd expect. Some of the best coffee in downtown Rochester
Well-lit, warm + friendly vibes - overall, amazing place to get some work done or catch up with an old friend. coffee + other drinks are superb. serve a lighter fare - like toast and eggs. also have boxcar donuts (owned by the same fella) 🤤
Great cafe/coffee, one of Rochesters best.
I love this location. Its inviting, the people are nice, coffee is great (of course), and its just a really nice overall atmosphere. Honestly Id come here over Park Ave location any day, but its just not open long enough.
Closed 😞- Nice, clean. Good coffee!Ample parking
A very nice space recessed into the ground. Cozy without losing natural lighting. Great coffee and fresh baked goods from Baker St. bakery. A bit pricey.
The Glen Edith staff are very friendly and the coffee is excellent. Plenty of parking is available in the main parking lot, and some street parking adjacent to the entrance. I would highly recommend paying Glen Edith a visit if you value quality, hand brewed coffee.
Amazing staff, amazing coffee. Great atmosphere. Hit this spot up now. It’s my fav
Wanted to love this place. Went for breakfast with a friend, bill came to $30, white toast with imitation tasting avacado spread sprinkled with chick peas at $9. Finished breakfast and didn’t even have my coffee yet. Paid a tip when I ordered and got poor service, nobody even came to pick up dirty dishes.
Love the open concept seating. The location is a bit hard to find at first, the cafe is in the half basement. the room gets enought lights and great place to study or just chill! Their coffee is also very good!!
Really good coffee. The sandwiches were also very tasty with interesting flavors.
Best coffee and cappuccino in Rochester! Love the feel and location. Always friendly service- only downfall is the bathroom- could be cleaner and kept up with supplies.
One of my coffee shop go tos. Great staff, ambience, and coffee. I’ve yet to try it, but my friends also rave about the waffles so give it a try!
Great spot for a light and delicious breakfast. Bright atmosphere.
Nice ambiance but they do not have the same selection of treats and food at the other location. If you are looking for a gluten free dessert to go with your drink, I would suggest the other location.
This location is a bit more accessable than the other since its not as busy. Service is just as good and the coffee is fantastic. Worth the wait.
Great vanilla latte. Interesting location for mid afternoon break. Also wanted a sweet treat with my latte, but nothing left to choose from.
Immersive atmosphere. Great staff. Great coffee. Highly recommended.
Coffee was lukewarm at best, and everything was overpriced. Charged for a refill on the drip too, which is uncommon among the area.
Best waffles on the planet as well as other yummy food. Coffee plus good as well. Bright comfortable atmosphere.
Fantastic coffee! Great atmosphere and decor! These guys know how to brew.
Nice place, good coffee, friendly staff. Good spot to have a meeting.
Coffee is very good. The Baristas are friendly and knowledgeable about the coffee. The place overall has a cool vibe
Delicious coffee...took a latte art class with friends...so much fun!
Glen Edith is the premier coffeeshop of Rochester. Excellent craft espresso drinks and solid pour over. The Elton St. location is the offshoot of the original Glen Edith at Somerton St., and doesnt have as many food offerings as the original, but has a parking lot (HUGE plus) and a brighter, more open space. Its proximity to Makers Gallery (right up Elton St.) is also a perk of this location.
Prices are displayed incorrectly.. Took forever to get our coffee... Then the lid was not on correctly.. It spilled all over my friend and we literally got no help from the staff as they watched... Nice.
Coffee was good. Parking easy. Cafe was cute.
Delicious coffee, with a sweet baked good. Plus plenty of parking space.
Nice coffee shop, wondering why the parking is getting tough there, where are all these people?
Quiet and chill place. Could use a few couches but nice to hang out for sure.
Always felt uncomfortable in coffee shops but this place and the people working were very nice and extremely inviting. Food and coffee were excellent as well
Nice space. Unfortunately their coffee is mediocre to poor and they consistently play the worst music at the Elton St location.
High quality, expert coffee, espresso drinks and tea. Never disappointing, and the service is excellent.
Great coffee in a lovely location, but it is not wheelchair accessible. Its unfortunate that some community members are excluded.
Love my morning coffee and friendly conversations with the staff at Glen Edith!
Great coffee! Friendly staff. Bright open space.
The dirty chai tea was as wonderful as the polite people that work there. Free wifi, nice facilities, and delicious chai. Very happy everytime Ive been here!
Great atmosphere but sometimes slow internet
Always friendly service / great coffee and snacks / limited food compared to other location
Bomb coffee! Super friendly
Great coffee and staff with a cozy atmosphere.
Great coffee and great place.
Not bad. The music is too loud, though, making the space less than conducive for work or conversation.
Nice place to come, take a break and relax.
Great food great service!
Great latte, great atmosphere. Nice chill place to do work.
First time visit, staff friendly, fun shops nearby!
Chai tea latte was yummy quick personable service 😊
Great coffee. Great atmosphere
Cozy and inviting. Delicious coffee and pleasant staff.
Great place to do work and grab a great cup of coffee
Usually go to the Somerton street location but this one is nice too! They have a bar and high tables to sit at.
Great food, great coffee, and sweet staff!
Great coffee, a little pricey, but worth it.
Amazing coffee and food! Have to give my favorite Rochester coffee shop no less than 5 stars
Great spot with really good coffee
Not a fan of their iron or iron-like chairs but otherwise a great quiet place to beat the heat and crank out some reading.
Lovely place to meet.
Amazing place. Amazing coffee
Very nice place! And they do know about real coffee!!
Usually pretty quiet. Great place to study.
Third wave coffee shop, great cup of coffee.
Highly overpriced and only comes in tiny sizes. Do yourself a favor and go to Javas, Boulder, or Cafe sasso.
Good coffee but a little expensive. Limited seating
So good!!! Get the cortado
Its all about Boxcar donuts. They bring the west coast craze of artisanal donuts to the east coast.
Cold, drafty, mediocre pastries. GOOD coffee!!
Nice ambience and coffee varieties.
Small quiet coffee shop with excellent options
Paid full price for a half-cup of hot chocolate. That was actually closer to room-temperature.
Cozy place with a delicious latte
Boxcar donuts available. They take their sourcing and roasting seriously.
Really, really good brunch food.
Good:Coffee ($5 latte), WiFi, Parking (ample and free), Music, Lightning (windows everywhere)Bad (not really):Havent tried the food yet
Great coffee nice atmosphere
Delicious coffee and decident donuts
Great pour over!
Fabulous coffee!
