In early spring I searched the Internet for a concrete company to replace my original 1960’s garage floor and two sidewalks that were in very poor condition. It took 3 months of correspondence just to get the owner (Mark Ogden) out to my house for an estimate. He came out told me my chimney could be repaired no problem (other contractors told me it needed to be tore down and rebuilt) he gave me a very reasonable quote, and i went against my better judgment and hired them for the job. The first time they came out to repair the chimney they left visible holes where you could see the sunlight coming through- i called Mark and he agreed to come back out and fix it. Cut to 1.5 years later and i have water pouring in through my chimney in the same area which he repaired. I contacted him on July 20th 2021 to notify him of the problem and have not heard anything back. I have had 2 other masons come out for estimates recently who have both advised me that his repairs were nothing more than a temporary fix and have actually done more damage to the chimney in the long run. I am now back to square one, having to tear down and rebuild ($10k+) after having already paid AAA Masonry a nice chunk of change. Would NOT recommend this company to anyone.

My wife and I had a great experience with Mark/AAA Masonry for the sidewalk and patio stamped concrete job we had. We found AAA through a Google search for stamped concrete rochester ny when shopping for quotes. Mark gave us a great estimate and we signed the contract in late May. In late June, Mark and team came out and completed the job in 4 days. On day 1 Mark came out and and confirmed all the specific details of what we were looking for. We were not home (at work) while the job was in progress, but when we came home each night our home/property appeared to be respected (no damage or excessive debris noted). Our end product was beautiful (there are some slight cracks on the edges, but this appears to be normal as the concrete slabs settle). Giving a 4 instead of 5 as communication could be more frequent, as we had to reach out a couple times after signing contract/paying deposit to get a securing a start date (likely the challenge of a seasonal business).

This guy is dishonest, a lousy mason, does not stand behind his work, and gives contractors a bad name. I had to take him to court to make things right. I strongly recommend avoiding him completely. This is the sidewalk he poured for me less than a year after he did it. There are good, honest masons out there; he is not one of them.I

AAA Masonry did a great job on installing a 20x15 stamped concrete patio. We agreed on contract signing to be done prior to July 4, and in spite of a wet June they wrapped up the last cleanup on 2 July. Workers knew their trade and made good use of their time on site.

Called AAA to inquire about a sliding chimney shoulder cap, they showed up the next day and repaired it! Less than 24 hours and they were here to do the job right. Excellent clean up, very friendly employees, will definitely call again. The value cannot be beat, and the response time is excellent.

Marks workmanship is extremely poor. My patio is unlevel, pitched in numerous directions and has extreme pitch well beyond 1/8 per foot. I ended up with pooling of water in numerous areas on the patio. I addressed it immediately with mark and he stated to me, stamped concrete has variations. Well i had other masons take a look right away and they all agreed there are pitches and valleys in this patio that should not be there. Mark admitted he didnt want to spend extra in concrete which is why my patio is wavy and unlevel. He tried to blame me for wanting my patio at a certain height across the back of the house, when in actuality he didnt want to lay a subbase of stone to save on concrete as that would cost more and he didnt want to spend more on concrete. He also didnt want to try to discuss it with me thinking i didnt know any better and thought he could just get the money and run. The patio color and texture of the stamp look great, but the patio is unlevel and frankly unsafe. Im most frustrated that if someone without trade knowledge were to hire Mark, that he would get their money, do a poor job and walk away without an issue arising for months or over a year in which case he would never come back to remedy. I caught this right away and Mark offered a measly $500 off. i stated i wanted the patio redone due to how poor the installation was. I didnt need a level to see how poorly pitched the patio is. He brought the pitch well below my dirt level and I need a landscaper to regrade my entire yard now which will cost a minimum of $1800.Mark walked off the project and it has been radio silence ever since. Im out my deposit, and am working to have someone remove and reinstall the patio since i am so disappointed in his work. Unfortunately due to how late we are in the season, I am stuck with this until spring.Do not hire this guy, pay extra elsewhere to avoid the headaches.

My GC hired them to extend our basement. Took them 2 months to do a 3 week job. Despite Marks multipleumultiple promises of taking care of me, they cut every corner possible. They did not place rebars where required. They added automotive antifreeze to the mortar(untill I caught them doing it). They failed to cover freshly built walls with blankets in freezing weather, they used incorrect waterproofer that did not dry for weeks. They missed right angles between walls (20 ft wall was 4 inchesoff target). At the end, they spread the soil over my back yard(to save on trucking costs), did not brace the walls while backfilling, and walls cracked. One fell down completely. After that, Mark said that he had to be paid more to continue working. We never saw him since.

Mark and his crew did an awesome job repairing the concrete steps on one of my rental properties. Not only was the work done quickly and efficiently, but they did a great job cleaning up the site after they were finished. Although there was a hairline crack which developed after the project was done because of the depth of the work, he came back and made it right the next day. They were courteous and respectful of my tenant while they did the work and a pleasure to deal with, and the work priced very fairly!!! I flip houses and deal with contractors on an ongoing basis. AAA Masonry did a nice job on my walkway..it needed to be lifted somewhat and sealed with a concrete stain and sealer. However, I did have an issue that I wasnt happy with.... Mark was very willing to correct it but it did take him a month to finish the job to my satisfaction.

My experience with AAA Masonry was good….I called them because I had a small water leak in my chimney, wasps coming into the house….They reached and complete their job in a very responsive way…..We would definitely use them again!

They repointed my building last summer, but used a different color mortar, so it looks terrible. I contacted their man Mark Ogden, and after multiple emails, phone messages and several weeks I finally got him to stop by again. He was very abusive. He agreed it looked bad and would have it colored to match. That was last fall and I have not seen or heard from him. I have sent an email recently with no response.5/20/19 - the day after my bad review he called and said he would be out by the end of the week. 3 weeks later, nothing. No returned email or phone calls

AAA was hired to examine options for resurfacing/replacing my garage floor, and after descriptions, decided on full replacement. After Mr. Ogden listened to what I was seeking, the new floor was pitched to shed water to the door. The job was completed top to bottom in 2 days, and so far am very pleased with the results. He responded to phone calls within generally 20-30 minutes. I highly recommend AAA masonry.

Hired AAA masonry for a complete tear out of an old existing patio and replace with new colored concrete cut with diamond pattern. Mark responded immediately to my request for a chimney inspection and any repairs needed prior to selling our house. He arrived when he said he would, the inspection showed that we needed repointing and a new cap and the work was performed that same morning. After 10 years our flat paver sidewalk needed additional sand and lifting. What we got was far better than the original sidewalk. The pavers were laid down tight and there is now a gentle slope from the circle by the house down to the driveway. The crew was neat and Mark kept me up to date on the status. AAA Masonry was extremely responsive and provided an estimate to me within one day of my request. The estimate was lower than all of the others I received. AAA Masonry was able to complete the job much earlier than I expected and exceeded my expectations in all aspects of the job. Our pool deck was poured and stamped in the rain. The pattern was so bad they spent days grinding, repouring and stamping. The final product was so bad the contractor walked away without full payment or fixing the situation. We are stuck with it.Contractor said to accessorize the area with furniture to hide the poor craftsmanship.

I hired AAA to rebuild the top 7 layers of my chimney, and replace the cap, and crown. I shopped three different companies. He was in the middle; $100 more than the cheapest, $75 less than most expensive. AAA gave me a good time frame, I thought he was confident, and I had them do the work.I dont know masonry, but the work looks great (I cant see the cap as I havent been on the roof) his price was very fair for the time frame he promised. After all the work was done, he offered a very fair price to clean the chimney at the end of the year when I would need it. I would recommend getting a price from them

AAA Masonry repaired a severely cracked and leaning concrete light post of mine. He talked me through options and was confident in a solution. I had spoken with several other contractors for months, none which provided quotes or realistic solutions. The light post is a staple to the house, and I am very satisfied with the outcome. Quick turn around and hassle free. Did trample garden, and messed up my shale rock garden border at the base of light post with out putting it back together, which I thought I was a little sloppy. Overall very satisfied.

Three years ago Mark and his crew poured an awesome ouside patio and stamped sidwalk for us. Excellent workmanship. It looks as great today as it did when it was done. This year with a foundation project that needed immediate ( if not sooner) attention, we called Mark again and once again another job done with excellent workmanship...and at a reasonable cost! In the Fall of 2103 we had AAA Masonary put in a patio and sidewalk. The patio was never level as it is severly pitched. After 6 months it had numerous large cracks throughout. The sidewalk was so slippery that no one could walk on it in the Winter.When the patio was put in we questioned why he never used any crusher run on top of the the dirt and he said it was not always needed. We dug in under the patio and never saw any crusher run at all although Mark Ogden the owner said he used it. We called Mark to come out and help fix these issues and he came up with numerous reasons such as: it was a bad Winter, he performed the work as he was instructed by us, had we told him that we did not want a slippery side walk he could have added in a mixture that would have prevented the slipping. He said he thought it was a good job.We tried to negotiate with him asking him to either come back and re-do the patio or give us our money back and he said he would get back to us. We never heard a word back.We are extremely dissatified with the work as well as the the lack of integrity that Mark Ogden showed. Mark is a wonderful orator and is very believable. He will tell you all you want to hear and give you a competitive bid. However, where you lose out is that he will risk the integrity of the work to make up for the good price he gave you. In our case he elected not to use crusher run and save that cost, as well as not using the component in the mixture to prevent the sidewalk from being slippery. Then to top it all off he wont stand by the work he did and even tells us it was a good job.We are stuck with a uneven patio which really the only solution is to have someone come out and take the entire patio out and completely re-do.
