Too many restrictions also closes way to early. Been there a total of 5 times and got a chance to shoot one time. Unfortunately I will not be returning the last time It was in my ammo that was a problem the time before that they closed the range at 4!? Like mfs can’t even get off work early to shoot and relieve stress? Guess I’ll be driving 1hour to papys.
Awesome time in the range! Cant wait to go back.
Well run and professionally managed pistol range. Boring video you have to watch your first time but please watch it and pay attention. Real southern hospitality from everybody there so please repay in kind. The rules are there to keep you and everybody else safe so please pay attention and obey the rules. If you have a question, ask. There are several firearms for sale along with other hunting, fishing and outdoors supplies. Helpful and curtitous staff and very knowledgeable.Have fun, be safe, learn something.
Great selection of gun bow and hunting needs. Friendly people who are eager to help. Chad.the gunsmith is a jewel.
Great place with awesome people. Enjoyed the range a lot. Lots of gun knowledge.
Staff is always great here and very helpful. We are looking forward to taking our CWP class here soon
Great place to shoot. Very reasonable.
Always a good time here. Its like being with family. I take that back it is family.
Always great and friendly staff, nice range, and a easy to handle transfers. Great job and would highly recommend!
It was great!!! All the staff were very friendly & helpful. They are very big on safety qhuch is a good thing. I really enjoyed it.
Excellent range, being from NYC and they can tell as soon as I open my mouth lol, the young ladys at the counter were very helpful, friendly and professional and the price is rite, Ill be going back, thank you
Poor inventory with ridiculous prices. Apparently you have to be a regular to be treated decently. Im not comfortable with owning a gun myself, and was hoping to be informed, not shamed for my ignorance.
I have never in my life dealt with so much attitude and disrespect from somebody who is supposed to want me to spend my money. Customer service was horrible and i will never go there again. Felt like i was getting hustled with the high prices on ammo. No thank you i found what i was looking for at a different store and saved some money to.
Very bad place to have fire arms repaired. Terrible service and price gouging. Very unreliable service. Save yourself any hassle and go to a more reparable gun shop that is there for their customers.
Great place. Very friendly people. I love their shooting range. Kelly is the best trainer and classroom instructor Ive ever had since learning how to shoot and use a gun safely. Thank you Kelly for all your help. I will be back for more training in the future. Kelly was very patient and nice to me through out the whole process of helping me shoot and learn how to use a gun safely.
Customer oriented and very Knowledgeable staff. Will definitely go back for another purchase.
Great knowledgable staff however the range is in poor condition. Sometimes you have to move twice to find a working target return system.
Nice staff would have given five stars but I purchased a gun and they didnt have bullets to fit it.
No ammo, very few weapons available. A sign of the times we live in. Exceptionally nice folks though.
I have been here a number of times. Had a gun transfer and my rifle sight tended to herr. Nice folks. Seem competant.
I went here to shoot for the first time ever, Ive worked with law enforcement for 26+ yrs as a civilian and never shot LOL. But now I did. It was important to me that i find a place that made me feel comfortable or I would not return. I cant start to tell you what a great experience I did have. Everyone I came in contact with, where helpful and very knowledgeable. They answered ANY and ALL questions. I was not ridicude for the amount of times I came out of the range with questions or a situation. LOL I had alots. You need a valid and current I.D.For a small fee, you may rent their equipment, (gun, safety equ., etc) you must purchase their amo, I believe its reasonably priced. You must watch a safety video, informative. Then you go pick out what you would like to shoot, and if you dont have any idea, the nice guy behind the counter will give you great suggestions. Let them know its your first time and request alittle help. Good luck! Im hooked!
Took my rifle here to get bore sighted and shot in. The gentleman hands me my gun and says the caps are loose. Ends up he just shot my gun knowing the scope mount was loose. Thats the worst service I have ever had. Why wouldnt you have tightened them since I was there to have the scope zeroed. And then they charge me $15 or $20 to do it. So I fill like I paid him to shoot a 350 Legend and nothing else....
I went to Sportsmen, Inc for the first time last month. I was impressed by professionalism and friendliness of the staff. The facility was well organized.
I have shopped there for over 17 yrs and they were well liked by me and hundreds of sportsman.
I came into your store a few days ago and really enjoyed the place. Its a great-looking store. I came in there today to look at a few products and was looking forward to buying a bit of ammo and set up some work in your archery shop. But standing in your line to buy a Sundrop and ammo, for about 5 minutes behind one guy you let a pair of old man cut right in front of me. Im new to the area and I just want to say that you just lost a good bit of sales for the day and a future customer
Always treated well. Staff go out of there way to please you. Very helpful.
Kind, knowledgeable staff. FFL process was a breeze, and slightly cheaper than the bigger stores.
Very good staff.
Great place to shoot with a wonderful staff.
Love this place great place friendly folks
Very informative and friendly staff.
Nice, helpful people. Basic range, decent variety of supplies, great safety / security processes...all at very reasonable $$. I like it here! New home for practice.
Very kind employees. Helped with all I needed
If you are under 21 but older than 18, you still have to be with a parent/guardian. What if your parents work a different schedule than you? At 18 you can give your life for this country but you cant go to the range with your sibling who is 21+ and shoot paper. The range is small and dark. No Rapid Fire, you have to wait 2 seconds before you fire again?! Firing one round a second isnt rapid fire. I like to shoot faster than normal and try to keep all the rounds on target. The only good part about it was the prices for the range but you get what you pay for. Nichols Store in Rock Hill, SC, should definitely build an indoor range. They would make Sportsman look like a garage sale. I know its the stores rules but every other range around RH, Fort Mill, and Charlotte will let an 18 year old go in and shoot by themselves. Never coming back to this place again. Id rather drive an hour to Chester than drive 5 MINUTES to Sportsman.
Great staff that are not only friendly but knowledgeable too.
Friendly and helpful staff and selection of items im sure would have been better if Covid19 wasnt an issue but everything was bought out.
Wonderful staff. Always friendly and helpful. I buy all my guns there. Also, the range is great. They have the BEST prices for range time Ive found in a long time. Its pistol only bit its nice, inexpensive and gets the job done. Their ammo is also very reasonably priced. Check them out. Theyre the best in my book!
Nice friendly staff
Nice local store with good people.
Love this place awesome employees...
Range is out dated but with cheap rates. The 2 second shot rule is a little excessive and doesn’t allow for practical flash sight picture training. I’m sure the rules are different if you become a member. The store is legit and they have great service and very good transfer rates.
We love the Sportsman. Wonderful people who make you feel at home.
Nice range -- only pistol, no long guns. The range was getting pretty beat up but theyve done some cleaning up and its in much better shape. As independent shops go they have a very good selection of both guns and accessories. The staff is usually very helpful and knowledgeable
First time. Great people. Great prices on the range. My new go to pistol range. Membership is definitely in the plan.
Went in Saturday with the family looking for my first gun and had a great experience! All of the employees there rock but Chad helped us out the most. He definitely knew his stuff and suggested a couple that would be the best option for me. He didnt just hand me the most expensive guns either, because the gun counter guys there dont get commission for what they sell. He knew price point was a consideration and it was obvious they would work with you on the price as well. We also shopped around at Gander, Academy, Cabelas, etc. Sportsmans prices were close in comparison, even though Chad had told us those places would probably be a bit cheaper! Definitely cant beat the free 30 days of gun range that came with the firearm purchase. Not only did I leave happy with my new Smith and Wesson, but 2 other people in my family are happy with theirs as well! Even gave them a pretty good trade in price for a used gun. Itching to get into the shooting range and hope to be there in the next couple days. Thanks for all of your help guys! We really appreciate everything!
Nice and knowledgeable staff. They will answer any questions you have.
Not much inventory compared to the various competitors within 25-30 min of them.
Great instructor! Thanks!
Staff friendly n willing 2 help.
Whether to learn, train, buy or sell, these guys know their stuff. Every time i have gone in they are very helpful, and i have never seen them be pushy or try to over sell anything. If you want to upgrade or just learn enough to decide if you want to learn more about firearms without owning one this is the place.
High prices! Not very welcoming. Ruger Security 9 being sold for $580 when it sells for $329 elsewhere.
Something has obviously gone wrong at this place. The last time I visited this store it was well stocked with firearms, holsters and everything you can imagine pertaining to guns and shooting/hunting. Today I stopped in to stock up on gunpowder but their powder stock was down to just a handful of choices. I then went to look at holsters and discovered countless empty slots for holsters etc. A closer look around the store showed almost all merchandise in the same sad status. The handguns and long guns were no better, actually worse. Selection was embarrassing. The gun range seemed to be busy but that was the only positive note. It was so bad that when I departed I looked for a “Going Out of Business” sign but didn’t see one so I don’t know what’s going on. It’s so sad to see a local shop like this go down hill so badly. I hope for a turnaround but it doesn’t look promising at all. I’m pulling for them and sure hope I’m proven wrong!
These folks are my local go to for a range that is affordable and staff that are friendly and helpful. If you are brand new to guns understand that the range is not as high tech as some of the other newer facilities. This range may tend to be a little bit on the louder side. If you cannot tolerate a gun being loud then either put a suppressor on it or find a new hobby. They also do not allow any type of rifle/ammo to be shot. That is kind of a bummer but I have had worst things happen to me in my life than not being able to shoot a rifle with ball ammunition at a range. These worse things usually involve ex girlfriends...This place is very well stocked and not priced far off from standard retail value. They also have an entire section devoted to hunting and other outdoor related products. Understand that you will not get big store sale prices and online warehouse prices at a place like this, simply put, smaller businesses have too much overhead to pull that off. So unless you want the whole gun industry to be ruled by about three huge companies support your local shops and pay the slightly marked up prices so they can keep their doors open. If millennial, vegan, progressives understand this concept when they support their local hipster coffee shops Im sure you all will understand it too. Finally the staff at this place. They are a diverse and friendly place that is welcoming to all. They are great for people who are new to firearms and need a gun shop employee that will make them feel more comfortable. Unfortunately they do not have transgender bathrooms so if I do decide to change my gender identity I will have to take my business elsewhere, but until then this place is my favorite in the area.
Love this place, but they are out of stock...not their fault
Nice store, they have a little bit of everything. The staff was great. The shooting range could use a upgrade, but for the price it was worth it.
Decent gun shop and no bells and whistles range.
This is one of the best hunting/shooting/fishing shops I have ever been too. A great selection of items and surprisingly good prices! And the staff are all very helpful and knowledgeable.
Nice store with a variety of hunting and shooting equipment. The range is a good size, and its pretty cheap to shoot. They seem to take safety vary seriously which I appreciate. Ive been twice now and I plan to use them for my pistol range whenever Im in the area
I just bought a pistol but have been there a few times talking with the sales people. Theyre very friendly and knowledgeable about all of there product. Plus I get 30 days free range time, cant beat that. Definitely will have my business again.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Terrible service. You could not pay me to go back in this establishment. First off they judged my appearance and made me feel like I shouldnt be there, but ive been there at least three times before. Second they raised the range fee to $15/hr, which is acceptable at a nice new range where u can shoot pistols and rifles, but they dont even allow you to shoot .223 here anymore!? Geeze. They should really make it more clear that this is a handgun range ONLY. My last valid point is the air filtering and circulation inside the range is the worst Ive ever experienced, and Ive trained at many different ranges all along the east coast. After leaving this place it feels like you inhaled the exhaust from your cars muffler. Not healthy at all. Other ranges have stronger air filtration systems that trap a good bit of that toxic air, this place doesnt do a decent job at all!!
I have been to sportsman several times and always had attentive and personable staff. They dont have quite the exhaustive selection of nichols store, but the personal attention and quality make up for it. The last time I went to Nichols store I waited 20 minutes and still hadnt been served so I just left and was immediately able to get what I needed at sportsman. Should have went there first!
Date time w hubby. Organized and do a great job to provide safe environment for shooting
Great place and good people
Good Price for the range time. Range is a little old and outdated but serves the purpose. Staff is pretty helpful. Gun selection and product offerings have gone down hill as of late, seems like they only have half the stock they used to.
Good prices. Nice staff. Good ranges
Love this place. As a member I can shoot as long as I want, bring my own ammo and targets, and the merchandise they offer is amazing. Way more than expected from the size of the building front. People are great too.
Great store for everything the Sportsman needs. They sell archery, fishing, hunting, pistols and outdoor clothing. They have a great selection of pistols and rifles along with multiple types of ammo at great prices. There are 2 indoor gun ranges with great lighting and target selections. I have never waited to get into the range. Not easily found, but worth the drive from anywhere in the Carolinas. They also have a top-notch gunsmith and archery specialist. Ask for Blair and tell him DB sent you.
Large selection of merchandise. Friendly, helpful staff. Very customer satisfaction oriented.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff. They are as interested in building a relationship as making a sale.
Very knowledgeable people. They helped my daughter and I a great deal in everything we were looking for. A great experience and excellent customer service.
Great customer service, good selection of products, friendly staff.
Ive always received good service here. Made 2 purchases here after shopping around and their prices were comparable. Most recently, I had a new sight installed and after trying unsuccessfully at two other shops over 3 weeks of waiting. I dropped off on a Saturday and received a call the following Monday that it was done! They take the time to educate and help you to find what you are looking for.
Its an okay place has indoor range to shoot handguns thats it the prices on the guns are like $10 a piece to rent one where they make their money is at on their shells which I think theyre reload all of them anyway and then they charge you for a Target and then they charge you a range fee but besides that its a decent place if you go to buy a gun from there you better have Deep Pockets even have a ATM inside your prices on their firearms or a little outrageous they have hardly any fishing stuff they have hardly any ammunition for sale best way to make money off the range
I dont even want to give them 1 star!! This place has gone downhill.
I made several purchases at Sportsman. The staff there is knowledgeable and friendly and if you discuss price you will find they can be extremely competitive even with online pricing. I would recommend stopping at their location for any firearm or optic purchases.
I love Sportsman... convenient to me and staff is always helpful and many times educational and informative...just wish they were open a bit longer/later
Staff is friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to help even when the place is busy. Without question, my favorite range by far. Highly recommend
I just visited to rent a lane to shoot on I also rented a gun good professional service
I have used the range and find the prices on services extremely reasonable. No rifle calibers on the range is the only drawback. Friendly staff round it off.
Excellent selection and range.
Staff was very helpful and fair prices on their guns.
Very good. Great helping customers
Great place and best price on rentals. Range lanes are not fancy but decent. Staff is friendly and helpful
Agent R, not disputing your review, but Ive never had the experiences you describe. I particularly like the gunsmith. Today he adjusted my Glock 21 sights for free, and offered to let me shoot the pistol and if they werent right, hed adjust them until they were. I have been to this store at least a dozen times, always found them helpful and friendly. They are usually pretty busy, so I realize they cant be at my beck and call every minute. But overall, Ive had great experiences there.
Great guys, always willing to help. Went in the other day not sure about reloading powders and they spent a bunch of time with me. The even took out reloading manual and looked up the data. They also handled shipping a long rifle and was great. $35 including the shipping!
Very friendly and knowledgeable folks. Was appreciative of how Chad took the time to educate me. Prices seem very reasonable as well. So far so good!
Great staff, and proper handling and firearms training with Kelley was second to none.
The staff is great and always friendly. Prices on the merchandise is great as well. The only issue is that if you want to shoot, be prepared to wait an hour or MORE on Saturdays! Time after time I show up on Saturdays to find out only one of the two ranges are open...due to unforeseen events/classes that are NOT posted on their website. Even if you call, you are NEVER informed that one of the ranges is closed to the public. The range facilities could definitely use more lighting, better stalls, and better climate control. Also, newcomers should have to watch a safety/training video BEFORE entering the range. I am an well-experienced shooter and when I feel these newcomers create a danger, I do not waste time in leaving the range area. Maybe one day, the Rock Hill area will see another indoor range business...I cant wait to join them!
Nice indoor range with very reasonable fees. A little dark, but so are most indoor ranges. Friendly and helpful staff.
Always have fun here. A little older of a place but still always clean. Friendly staff.
Everyone was super nice and knowledgeable. Very reasonable price to put a hundred rounds through a target.
Under staffed, not well lit inside the range, bullet casing all over the floor. You gotta hunt someone down for a broom to sweep then or of the way. The price is not bad but about an hour is all you will get due to limited space. It was my first time but Id probably go back due to the distance.
They have everything you need, youll be in and out in no time. And Melissa was extremely helpful! Definitely coming back here again.
Always a great place to shop! Ive purchased alot over the years from them & always get the same great service! The indoor shooting range makes it a plus!
Great customer service. Ashley in the archery department is the best. They will always have my business!
