Love, love, LOVE this shop! I come in here every other weekend and have to exercise so much restraint to not buy everything. I come here when I need to pick up gifts, they have curated some of the most unique and different products so I always leave with more than I came for. This is my one stop shop for home decor too. The staff is always super kind and welcoming to us and are super sweet to our baby. I also love that they are inclusive in this community - if you have a problem with that, you do not have to shop here but please keep your negativity to yourself and leave more Mercantile goodies for the rest of us who support a forward thinking Rock Hill 💜

I am beyond thankful that Rock Hill has this amazing shop. This is my go to spot for gifts and cute things for my own home. The customer service is amazing and shopping is always such a positive experience. Stumbled across this place and enjoyed the vibe. The shop/general store was very welcoming, had a great cup of coffee and will be going back to enjoy the brewery and food truck in the near future. One of Rock Hills hidden gems !

I want to give it five stars but it’s frustrating that a business that says they’re for the everyone in community does not carry clothing sizes that are size inclusive. I would love to be able to shop here for cute clothing pieces like my friends but per usual with boutiques/stores like this I’m relegated to only being able to buy accessories.

This is a business that is truly invested in the community. Putting on a pride event in rock hill was a risk they decided to take, and it was so worth it! I love visiting all the Warehouses on White businesses, and I’ll be supporting the Mercantile as much as possible in the future!

This world needs more shops like The Mercantile. They embody community in every way possible. They create a welcoming space for everyone. May I emphasize, everyone! I have been going to this shop since opening and knew from the beginning that it was an addition to Rock Hill that it was missing. It’s truly hard to not go in the Mercantile and not buy something lol. The main resource I use the Mercantile for is when I have no idea what to get someone and am in need of purchasing a gift. I know this store has received a lot of backlash recently that they don’t deserve. And just wanted to stop by and show some love! A great addition to downtown, with some very unique items, many locally made, and a friendly staff. They also sponsor a community fridge for people in need. And lastly, they are located next door to a local brewery, so prepare to do some shopping and grab a beer afterward.

I’ve lived in this city for 22 years now, and The Mercantile is the first store I can remember that made me feel truly seen and supported as a member of the LGBTQ+ community in Rock Hill. It hurts to see the ignorant and bigoted comments y’all have received as a backlash to Pride. It’s amazing how inclusivity and diversity feels like a threat to those who are not used to living alongside their neighbors. Thank y’all so much for using your platform and position to take a stand and make a real difference!

Love this place! After several friends had recommended Mercantile to me, I finally went and was not disappointed. The staff was friendly and someone even took the time to walk the store and help me find gifts before Christmas. Will definitely keep shopping here!

Horrible service. I’ve purchased hats from here in the past, won’t be shopping here again. Not sure who it was that this issue occurred with but she literally followed us around the store and asked us to leave a few minutes before the scheduled closing time. I have worked in retail for many years and I have never been treated or treated a customer like this. If your listed hours are on the door, and your customer enters the store before the scheduled closing time, you don’t ask them to leave before they are done shopping, much less before the scheduled closing time because you want to go home. Not sure this review will do any good considering the owner will just disregard like she has with every other poor review and claim the patron must be mistaken and thinking of a different store.

I absolutely love this store. Besides the items in the store being amazing, their best asset is their AMAZING staff. The owners created such a wonderful culture here and it’s reflected by the wonderful folks working there. You will not leave the merc unhappy. It’s the best ever.

The Mercantile is a GEM in Rock Hill. Nicest staff you’ll ever meet. They have hilarious gag gifts, fun things to eat, and beautiful kitchen items. They are continually planning new events and programs in the community. I hope Rock Hill continues to grow in this direction, with businesses being connected, intentional, and inclusive.

I LOVE THIS SHOP SO MUCH. Every time I go, I have to literally drag myself out because I could easily spend hours upon hours in there. Staff is always so sweet and helpful, I feel like I’m apart of their family - even if our exchanges are short. I always find the coolest and most fun items when I’m there! But seriously, from the candles and wax melts in my home to my soaps, my seasonings and (all of) my decorations, you will find items that I got from this cute store.And it’s incredible because I’ll say, “this is my idea,” and they take it and they make it so much better. I ordered a hand selected “self care” gift for my mother for Mother’s Day since I could not go shopping myself. My mother and I had gone shopping at the Mercantile together when she visited for Thanksgiving so I thought some items from here would be a great gift! The items they selected arrived beautifully packaged and were just right lovely things- a nice soap, beautiful lotion, rooms spray, bath salt, and a lip gloss. It was a great value and my mother loved it! The mercantile has lovely things and this idea of hand picked gift baskets during social distancing times was such a great idea!
