I recently purchased a vehicle from Napleton Subaru in Rockford. My wife and I had a wonderful experience dealing with Napleton Subaru for this purchase. Our sales consultant Nolan Vulgamott was excellent and assisted us every step of the process. He even fallow up after to make sure everything is going good. I would recommend them to anyone interested in buying a new Subaru.
I met the very efficient and friendly Parts Dept young man who had ordered my wiper blade last week, and a very conscientious young man who carefully replaced my front wiper blade! And every employee that passed me asked if Id been helped! It was a very pleasant experience at our Subaru dealership today! :)
I recently purchased a vehicle from Napleton Subaru in Palatine. It was, by far, the best car buying experience Ive had. Ms. Devin Riley assisted me every step of the process, providing expert coordination with members of the dealership. Im happy to be part of the Napleton family.
Nothing but problems. Went to buy a car, and after everything was signed they decided to change the terms of the deal for an extra 200 a month payment. I wasnt about to pay 700 a month for a used car, so I asked for my deposit back, and it took 5 business days to get my deposit back. Terrible experience, I will never recommend anybody shop here. Also tried to sell me a car that was a year older with more miles and recalls for 4k more than the car I originally looked at. Shady organization.
I had a great experience at this dealership. Not once did I feel any kind of pressure from anyone here. Matt did everything he could to help me out and get me into the car I wanted. He showed me that he genuinely wanted to see me drive off in a new car instead of making me feel like he just wanted my business. 10/10 would recommend.
I just had a very nice experience purchasing an Outback from this dealership. My salesperson, Matt, was very knowledgeable and did not pressure me into making a decision. The sales manager was also very helpful. The car is new so we’ll see how that goes. If you like Subarus, I definitely recommend this dealership.
My wife has taken her car here multiple times for various services or issues and its been a nightmare every time. They overfilled her oil by 1.5L, ovetorqued the drain bolt, cross-threaded a lug nut, refused to fix a cracked rim and she had to drive on it for a week before it was settled, and, most recently, lost her keys for an hour after changing a tire.Worst of all, there was a known issue and we provided the service bulletin number. They refused to acknowledge it and it took them 5 visits to be fixed. They ended up calling an Engineer from Subaru who was astonished and told them to just follow the bulletin. She bought something else just to never have to go here again.
Brought my vehicle to this dealership (closest to my home, an hour away) for a part replacement due to a recall. Made the appointment over a month in advance. Arrived on time. Was told when I made the appointment and when I dropped the car off it would take 2-3 hours, 4 at the most. Came back after 4 hours and was told it would still be 2 more hours because the tech was pulled off to work on other jobs. Came back, again, 2 hours later, car is ready. Pulling out of the lot and realize that my air conditioning isnt working. It did when I dropped car off. Go back in, was told the tech forgot to attach it. Wait around, again, for that to be fixed. Finally, after 6 1/2 hours, the 2-3 hour (4 AT THE MOST) job is complete. The staff was apologetic and polite. However, I would not return here for any future repairs or part replacements.
Good place to buy parts but not so good for service.
This Napleton final offered me $1000 OVER MSRP to ORDER a Forester. (no trade in involved) They justified this price because of the microchip shortage and a robust market. No thank you. Feels like price gouging. I went elsewhere and saved over $1000 without any haggling.
Had a 30-40 minute appointment for a recall I didnt get my car for 1hour and a half and try to say I needed new air filter and cabin filter I said I just replaced them 3 months ago and 4,500 miles, I said put them back and bring me my car they said ok and just said their technician said they need to be replaced I said they are fine. Then the table over from me they tried to pull the air filter on another person the customer said same
Bought a brand new, 2020 Subaru last year. This dealership won’t even look at it until you pay them 175$, which is only covered if it’s a manufacturer defect. No other Subaru dealership that I have been to does this. (The employee told me all dealerships are privately owned and I should take it back to the one I bought it at.) I am a travel nurse. This is why I bought a new vehicle with a brand.
Me and my husband went to look at our options and we ended up with a new car!! The entire staff was very friendly and made the buying process very easy for us. They even fallow up after to make sure everything is going good and if we had any questions on how to use the car. It made me feel very comfortable and not afraid to ask!
My car is 3 months old and has 3000 miles. Two times my tire pressure light has come on, each time indicating a different tire. This seems odd to me that each time the low tire read 24 psi and the others were consistently 34 or 35. I took it into Napelton Subaru and they found a nail in 1 tire. There solution is to charge me $50 to patch the hole and schedule another appointment to see if they could determine if the sensors are working properly. How is that for customer service? I should also mention that it took 5 phone calls to schedule an appointment. I was hung up on twice. I also waited over an hour for the diagnosis.
The dealership operation is very poor. The person selling the car lied about the car all the way through. And the A/C on a brand new 2021 subaru crosstrek went out twice and the dealership dragged their feet to fix. Also on a simple oil change they dumped oil all over the engine and made a huge mess that took them 2 plus days to clean. Avoid this dealership if possible any other subaru dealerships are much better. Dealing with them is a huge hassle.
Very polite, very efficient. I certainly miss the days when you could service your own car. Simpler systems then, and less expensive.
The deal was rushed. My car doesnt work right. Ive brought it into the service center and they basically laughed me away. Android auto is the feature that doesnt function. I have no contact information for the dealership and cant get anyone there to listen or care that im unhappy with my purchase. Dont go here. Its cold and impersonal and they will pressure you into buying a car without caring if youre a satisfied customer or not.
Justine is the very, very best. We have bought a # of cars from her and will continue. Napoltons is an amazing dealership with a support staff to match. They are the best in the Midwest. 😎🇱🇷
Our salesman Z Hasan was very knowledgeable and kind. He went above and beyond on making sure we had all we needed in buying our car. Very good salesman and person. Napletons was good as well. Finance manager was very nice as well
$668 for an oil change and new windshield wipers on a 2014 Porsche Cayenne diesel. If you enjoy paying 2-3x as much as market value to get new oil then this is the place to go!
We felt like family from the time we walked in and Matt Schmitz greeted us at the door! He was very knowledgeable, friendly and walked us through the process flawlessly. Other associates also made us feel genuinely welcomed!
Such great service there!
If i could leave a negative review i would......Never use the service department at this dealer! I have a metallic clicking noise coming from someplace in or near my engine. After doing some reasearch i realized there was an open recall on my vehicle related to an exhaust manifold issue. The symptoms of this matched my problem perfectly. I brought the car in explained my situation and was told that the symptoms i was describing would not be due to that recall issue, but they would take a look. My recall was serviced and i have a report that states they examined everything and fixed the problem....actually stated there was no problem. I would have to pay about $200 for a diagnostic to try to figure out the noise......fast forward, i go to another dealer 40 miles away to have a second opinion. They find the exhaust problem and state NAPLETONS DID NOT FIX OR EXAMINE THIS ISSUE.....had they done what they claimed to have done, they would have seen a clear issue and replaced the parts indicated in the recall. Literal textbook FRAUD by Napletons subaru service department, claiming and documenting work that they did not do. DO NOT GO HERE, if you do, the outcome and safety implications are on you.
Liked the cars but didnt like the price or milage.😁
Well, it was a long road to get the car I wanted. I knew it would be with it being a special edition and only 500 units available in the US, but Todd Tifft was with me every step of the way. In the 7 months I waited for it, Todd never once turned me away whenever I would frequently stop in to chat about the car or shoot the breeze about cars in general. He is a pleasure to talk with and goes out of his way to make sure his customers are satisfied. Overall the process was smooth and I couldnt be happier with the car. Thanks again!
Horrible Service! I drove eight hours to purchase my Subaru at their dealership because it is the one that I wanted for the best price. I have been trying to get ahold of someone to provide PROOF that I paid for the maintenance package. I bought my car in JULY 2020 and its APRIL 2021. Still I have no resolution of my maintenance plan in the system so I can get my car serviced in KS. They tell you to talk to Finance, no one returns the call. I emailed Joe McAvoy about the plan not showing up in the system do I get a response back? NO!
I made two separate service appointments to have a back up sensor repaired. After the first 8 hour service appointment the service department charged me 170$ to perform a diagnostic scan and tell me that that the sensor I asked to be repaired was faulty. I set up a second appointment only to have the service department tell me that they are unable to perform the work and refer me to a body shop.
Had a great experience at Napleton Subaru! So happy I got to work with Matt. I knew the model I wanted before going in. He was incredibly patient and answered all of my questions about the cars and buying process. Also had the pleasure of working with Charles in the finance department to help me get a deal that I was comfortable with. Loving my new car so far and looking forward to the free car washes this dealership offers! If my future experiences with Rockford’s Napleton Subaru are always this good, I don’t see going any where else!
I would recommend Napleton Subaru to purchase your next car. Mike In Sales is a conscientious salesperson. I had not seen Mike in 2 years since my last purchase and he remembered my name. He is also very knowledgeable about Subarus and if he doesnt know the answer he will find out. I dont give Kuddos to many service departments but Mike Palumbo in the service dept is number 1 in my book. He knows us by name when we come in- keeps us up to date on what we need to get done. I have been going to this dealership for the last 10 years and would not go anywhere else.
Love my Cross trac
Just bought a Subaru Impreza. I love it! Bought a Subaru Forester last year and am very happy with that one, too. Jeff helped us through the process both times. Thank you, Jeff.
I was visiting Rockford on Friday morning when I ran over a board I couldnt avoid which set off my tire pressure lights. I wasnt able to see if I had any punctures. I thought Id stop by the Rockford Subaru and see if they could fit me in. They were so nice and helpful and were able to check out my car very quickly. They couldnt find any punctures and reset my system. I greatly appreciate how friendly and helpful they were! Thank you!
I drove in without an appointment needing an oil change before I left for my road trip. I worked with Ashlee in the service department and she was wonderful! She got me in right away and made sure to check that the tires were in good shape before I left for the road.
Very professional service!
Even without an appointment I was able to get my oil change done. I talked with Emily on the phone and Ashlee took over when I got there. The staff was very courteous and helpful!
A bad place does not need any explanation!
Excellent treatment and easily answered all of our questions with out being pushy at all/ actually enjoyed our time there
I pulled in for a oil change on my Subaru. Turns out Ashlee let me know about a nail in my tire too. they were able to patch up my tire and get the oil change done so I was out in a flash. everyone was super friendly.
GreetingsJust to confirm our experience in our recent purchase of a Subaru Outback was excellent. Very efficient and your sales representative is one of the best we have worked with. This is our sixth auto purchase and we expect great service and based on our 2015 Outback experience we anticipate excellent performance and a long service life. Great job.
Great team and an easy purchase. I would highly recommend to anyone. Nolan (sales) did a phenomenal job and was very easy to work worth. Well done.
DO NOT COME HERE. I had a motor replaced under warranty and with in a week it jumped timing. Terrible worksmanship
Best retail experience of my life. Wow great people here. My next car will be another Subaru.
Came in to have some maint. work done. My vehicle was all done and ready to go at the time is specified. Ryan done a great job keeping me informed. Rec. doing business with the Napleton group.
I have always had a fantastic experience with Napleton from the purchase of my car through the regular service maintenance visits. They have always been professional and friendly! I highly recommend them.
We recently bought a new Outback from Matt Schmitz at Napleton Subaru. Matt was outstanding to work with! Matt really went the extra mile (literally) for us as the customer. First, he worked with us on price which seems nearly impossible on new vehicles these days. Matt then personally delivered our new vehicle to us more than 3 hours away and drove our nearly 20 year old trade-in back to Rockford. I would highly recommend Matt if you are looking to buy a Subaru!
I had Matt Schmitz as a salesman. He brought a Forester for me to test due to Covid which I greatly appreciated. During my auto shopping process he was punctual in responses and very patient. He also explained things thoroughly. He’s open for additional follow up clarification.
Napletons always gets the job done and very well. Always a pleasure when working with Shaun in the service department. We trust and appreciate what these guys do - especially during these times.
Wonderful service. They warned me of it taking longer and offered a shuttle home. Bill was as expected. Great job, team.
Had the vehicle we wanted. Great customer service.
I went in asking to see a WRX. I was texting with a sales rep all day and he conveniently forget to tell me the WRX is a car they do not test drive until the buyer buys the car. Their reasoning was that “WRX enthusiast don’t want high miles on the car.” After hearing that, we sat down for financing and I was given outrageous numbers (40-41k out the door which my rep said $750 a month. Nothing was mapped out on paper, no info interest rate, terms, etc). The rep knew I was at Honda for 3-4 hours earlier in the day and walked out the door with an offer in hand of the top line Civic Sport Touring Hatchback.Chris, the GM was out the week I came in, but I still got an automatic email from him. His peer, Jeff handled my phone call after I threatened to report them to the BBB, Subaru of America, and give a negative Google review when I did not hear anything from Chris. We had a good conversation about what happened and how upset I was that his sales rep tried to take me for a ride. He apologized, backed up his sales rep and calculated the true cost. The true cost ended up being $36.6k out the door which means the $40-41K is not far off. It is the fact his rep was quoting me those numbers without doing the math and computer is right next to him. ws$500-$1500 is a lot of money.I have been a fan of the WRX and STi since I started watching rally racing and I have been dreaming about buying one of these cars. I have been doing my research for some time now but knew $750 a month and 40-41k out the door was too much, and I should look at another car or dealer. I went to another dealer to test drive the WRX (call around you’ll find multiple dealers that will let you test drive). All in all, Jeff help took my comments and helped mitigate the situation.I would not recommend going to this dealer or Gerald or International Subaru’s for a WRX or STi. These dealers DO NOT allow test drives until you have sat through financing or in my sales rep’s word “We don’t allow test drive till you have bought the car.”
The staff did a great job of communication when I inquired about the vehicle. Everything was prepared for me when I arrived for my appointment. I was able to complete a test drive, complete all the paperwork and hit the road in my new vehicle in less than an hour. This is definitely a record for me!
Great experience dealing with Matt Schmitz when purchasing my Subaru Forester. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. Matt made sure I understood everything about the car before I left the lot.
I came in for an oil change. No appointment needed. Ashlee was my advisor. Service was fast, staff was friendly!
Each time we go there, it is a very pleasant experience. Knowledgeable and thorough. Fast turnaround
Great customer service by Shaun at the automotive desk. Free Wi-Fi water and munchies while you wait
Meh. Despite receiving a text before my service about providing a sanitized environment, I saw very few employees wearing masks, so I seriously doubt that any sanitizing was going on. In fact, the person who drove my car through the car wash was not wearing a mask while driving my car, and nothing further was done to the car between when he parked it and I got in it. When I got in, I found that the spare tire compartment hadnt been closed, and I had to get out and close it so I could see through the back window. Then I noticed that the car hadnt been vacuumed, and despite having been run through the carwash, there were still bugs and bird poo on it. It was the end of the day, and everyone was visibly getting ready to go, so I didnt feel like it was worth asking for the car to be cleaned, but I am very disappointed that I waited through quite a long service appointment and left with a dirty car and no reassurance that anyone had been concerned about COVID safety. I have had much better service at two Subaru dealerships in Florida and thought I would get the same level here. :( I presume that the work was all done and done correctly, but I really dont know. When the visible things like car washing arent done, its hard to trust that the unseen stuff was done well and completely. The dealership hasnt responded to my concerns but did send an automatic message asking me to rate the service, so here it is.
My service experience was top notch. Ryan went through info with me on questions I had about my Escalade ... provided great service & communicated promptly when my vehicle was ready! Thank You
My communication with Ryan from the service department was satisfactory leading up to my appointment. I was bringing in my 2012 Outback for two purposes: 1) replace an airbag that was recalled and 2) look into why my check engine light had come on. Ryan was gracious in allowing me to drop off on my way out of town for a week and pick up at the end of the week with no trouble - I appreciated this.I received a call from Ryan letting me know the airbag work was completed, but that the check engine light was on because my O2 sensors needed replacing. He provided me with a quote of $969 for parts and labor for this work. I asked if he could email me the quote so I could share with my local mechanic who we typically use for repairs, and he did so. My local mechanic was able to quote me $300 less on the sensor work. Ryan had also provided me a quote for brakes/pads/rotors for future service at $490. My local mechanic quoted me at $340 for this work. Having used my mechanic many times and trusting their work, I called back to let Ryan know we would not be completing any other work at Napleton at this time. It was disappointing and surprising to me to see that the estimates were so far from each other, price-wise.However, my real issue with this visit was that when I picked up my Outback, I was given an invoice for $155 for having Napleton Subaru diagnose the engine issue. I was taken aback by this charge, but paid it, unsure of how to proceed otherwise. Since that time, my local mechanic and others have told me that this is a problem that is typically easily diagnosed through a DLC, especially when no work is being done initially. I feel that I was unfairly charged $155 for this diagnosis. The expensive estimate for repair and this ridiculous charge for a diagnosis are reminders to me of why I try to stay local and work with my trusted mechanic. I wanted to give the dealership the benefit of the doubt in this case, but I am really disappointed with this charge. I will not be returning to any Napleton dealers for future car needs.
Very clean nice service and they offer snacks for the little ones
Came into Napletons cause we were traveling for the holidays and our oil light came on while driving through, the young lady Tina was just great in getting us in and helped get our oil change so we could get back on the road! I really appreciate her help and kindness. Would definitely recommend this facility!
Great car, Subaru Forrester!! Great service. The salesman and sales manager worked with us to get exactly what we wanted for the right price.
Just bought my first newer car from Napleton. I worked with Matt. I told him what I wanted and he was able to find me the exact suv for me. Matt was great to work with and very informative of the vehicle I was looking into purchasing. I would recommend anyone to go see Matt at napleton for a vehicle.
The team and especially Ryan did a great job of taking care of my Subaru and keeping me informed throughout the process.
The car was back before the allotted time they promised it. The customer lounge was well stocked as it was in pre-Covid days. It was gratifying to see some employees without masks. Wish more businesses were as prompt and with it as Napleton Subaru.
This was our second vehicle purchase at Napleton Subaru since 2016, and there is a reason we went back a second time. I was looking to trade a 2014 Ford Explorer on a 2020 Forester. I knew what would be a fair trade price for Explorer and I already had Napletons best price on the Forester I wanted. Our salesman, Tim Garfoyle, was the kind of salesperson I like working with: low key, friendly, knowledgeable and honest. We have always found Napleton dealerships to be highly professional. Car buying is no longer the ordeal it once was.
Patrick is the best. Everyones been friendly and low pressure. They were very kind and knowledgeable.
Nolan the salesman was friendly, highly knowledgeable about the vehicle, attentive without being pushy, and made it a pleasant experience. Scott the sales manager was friendly and helpful also
Today is Monday. I knew it may be a possible that I could just show up for a oil change. The Napleton Service department today ran exactly as I hoped. I watched the door open and I was able to pull directly in to the indoor facility. I was greeted with nothing but great smiles and polite greetings. Today the person who assisted me did her job quick, and professional. I not only got quick service, they gave me a shuttle ride to work! Ahlysha was my direct service contact, and she took my info and signed me out quick when I picked up vehicle.
Came in For my oil change, and I was greeted by a lovely lady Tina. she was so nice and helped me with a couple concerns I had on my Subaru! got the oil change done quickly and left satisfied as always!
Everyone I encountered were pleasant and helpful.
I live in Chicago. The Napleton Subaru team not only gave me the best price on a new Subaru in the region, but their customer service was outstanding. They even drove the car to me and I bought it without driving to Rockford. I highly recommend working with Napleton Subaru.
Go in for an oil change and buy a new car tim and todd were great
Jordan was excellent as a salesperson. He took all the teasing I threw at him in stride. Buying the car was fun and although I still have to read the 2000 page book and cant find everything I need I just love the car. I felt comfortable, relaxed and the whole experience was positive. A really good group of sales and finance people.
I have a 2017 Subaru Legacy. Today I had a wonderful day at Napleton Subaru. Ryan Fagerstorm was wonderful . Thank you.
Very great people. They will work with you and help you find the car your looking for. If I ever need to get another vehicle, this is where Im going.
2 weeks ago I made a new customer appointment to have a 150,000 mile inspection, an oil change and headlight replacement. Waited 2 hours onsite and was given back the vehicle with an oil change and new headlight. When I asked about the 150,000 mile inspection, I got a weird look and was told that it wasnt done. I asked why & the only answer I received after several minutes was a statement from the technician that theyre not able to tell if a belt or part is 3 months old or 5 years old by just looking at it because they will look the same (Dirty.) Well that obviously isnt true 😂!At least they only charged for what they did do and didnt charge for the inspection promised but never performed. I wanted to wait 2 weeks to see how I felt about this experience before posting my review, but Im still pretty disappointed. Will not be going back for service.
Had my STS in for servicing (oil change and tire rotation). Everything was preformed without issue. The Job was done, the car was washed and I was on my way
Amazing customer care experience. Helpful, NOT pushy sales staff engaged us on our terms and ours alone. Its a dealership so of course they had new cars. We brought our old Subaru in for trade evaluation. The service department was amazing. Professional, accountable, and everyone genuinely interested in our experience. We wound up buying a car here. The sales experience was thorough, and Nick, our point of contact, oozed self-esteem, knowledge, and professionalism. If I had to pick one word to summarize this dealership, it would be INTEGRITY. Give these folks a visit. You will be respected and well cared for.
I am well pleased with my vehicle and salesman. I would recommend Matt Schmitz to help you find your next vehicle.
They were very professional. Kept me informed and did a great job.
Shaun C was so amazing and friendly! Mike P was very detailed regarding the work done to my vehicle and listened to everything I asked about. They did an amazing job making me feel welcome. 10 out of 10 would recommend!
My wife and I just bought a brand new Cross Trek from Napleton and the service was incredible! Mike Price got us in to test drive one and within hours we were able to walk out with a brand new car! The finance team at Napleton is amazing as well, they got us a great deal! Free car washes for the life of the vehicle and we even got 2 years worth of free oil changes and rotations. I highly recommend checking them out...
Matthew V was pleasant to be around from the beginning. He patiently explained what we could find in the manuals, then showed us where everything was located in the car and how things worked. He was never pushy about adding extra features, but listened to exactly what was important to us. The dealership went out of state to find the exact car that met our needs, which was very much appreciated. Matthew was our best experience with a salesperson by far. The thing I appreciated the most about him is that he was totally gracious throughout our time purchasing this car, and I would not hesitate to purchase from him again.
Had a great experience and left with a new used car very satisfied. Thank you Kareem !
This has by far been the best car buying experience I have had. My wife and I came in on Saturday at almost closing time. Tim and Bill stayed late and worked with us to finalize a great deal. We were so happy with the experience we came back on Monday and once again they stayed late to finalize a great deal. I would highly recommend Napleton Subaru for anyone looking for a new car!
Great buying experience at Napleton Subaru in Rockford, Illinois. Matt Vincent was friendly, and straightforward. He went out of his way to help me get the vehicle I wanted and to get a great deal. Jim Horst in finance was friendly and thorough. He explained everything very well and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. I highly recommend working with Matt at Napleton Subaru.
Came to Napletons for the first time with my new Subaru, Ive never worked with a dealer before. so I was a little nervous going to one for my service, when I arrived I was greeted by a smiley young lady Tina, she was so pleasant and so helpful walked me through the whole process of how it works! she made it a wonderful experience for me! I will defiantly be back!
Every person shops for vehicles differently. I do months of research, know what I want to spend, and thanks to dealers websites I usually have at least two particular vehicles I want to look at before I step on the lot. Many of my friends and family have purchased from Napletons Subaru Rockford and had positive experiences. Since I am in Rockford regularly, I decided to give this location my business. I was helped right away by Manny who was very personable and knowledgeable. He has been in the car sales profession for years and I appreciate that experience. Napletons honored the price I quoted from online and made my purchase process smooth (side note: I was not trading in a vehicle). Jim in finance was pleasant to work with as well. They will offer you an extended warranty and tires/ding/dent repair packages. I didnt find it to be a high pressure sale. (Every individual knows their driving habits and can accept or decline those packages based on that and their personal budget obviously.) Overall a top notch purchasing experience.
Great Service. Came in for oil and tire rotate. In and Out in no time
We just had a wonderful experience working with this dealership. After contacting several dealerships, we found salesman Mike Price to be the easiest to work and most accommodating. Todd and Charles also assisted with our transaction to make this process incredibly smooth. We are already talking about a potential next vehicle purchase with this dealership. Thanks so much for the great experience.
I had one of the best salesman. I dont remember his name but he works for the Porsche dealership to. He went out of his way to Help me
Excellent service and attention. The entire staff treated me like a return customer even though it was my first time buying a car from them. Justine B. was just the best! The manager Scott was great as well, along with everyone else.
