My cars air conditioner doesnt work, I take it to this shop to fix my cars air conditioner, this shop fixes my cars air conditioner, it costs $1,191.00. Air conditioner is warranted for two years. After repairing my cars air conditioner, I used the car for about a week, then my air conditioner didnt work anymore, only blowing fan air. I brought it back to the shop, because it had 2 year warranty. It was checked and they said it was not the air conditioner that was damaged, but something else was damaged, planning to charge me an extra $470 . I dont agree, my car was here a week ago to repair the air conditioner with a two-year warranty, why do I get charged extra? This place did not fix my cars air conditioner, I had to bring my car back home without working a/c. The car repair costs $1,191.00 to work for 1 week. Repaired or not repaired, I regret taking my car to this shop for repair, I will never go to this shop again, be careful when bringing your car to this shop.

I have had two other cars serviced here an would have given a 3 based on those experiences but most recently I towed a car here that was having transmission issues. The car could move but was having issues. After a day of hearing nothing I called them, they told me they needed another day to even get her in to check her out. The next day they called and said the transmission needed to be replaced and it would be $3700. That was more than the value of the car so I told them no. I called three other shops who all quoted $2000 - $2400 for replacing transmission. When I went o have car picked up Buttita told me they would give me a break on the diagnostic. I asked them what they did since they claimed the car did not move. They changed their story and said they pulled it in to the garage and thats when they found the problem. I informed them the car was in the exact same place it was when I dropped it and they claimed they put it back there. Ironically they could not tell me anything else wrong with my car or even what error codes the computer was showing. I get car home, it is showing two codes, both sensors that can be replaced for a few hundred dollars and guess what, the car still moves forward no problem just could not go in reverse. So basically they lied to me about even pulling the car in or placing tester on it and just tried to charge me for a new transmission based off what my son told them when we had car dropped off. If you need an oil change or basic service, this shop may be ok but if you are having any real issues take your car some where else.

Ive had my Volvo worked on and had to take it back 4 times. Im not happy! They broke my tail light backing it out of the shop and are replacing it with a junk yard piece. Not happy! I truly believe they dont know anything about Volvos and im already passed 2000 bill. Not happy! This is there last chance and I guarantee I will be taking it to Volvo sycamore. Oh yeah went to leave on vacation and didnt make it 5 miles before it acted up. Do your homework before you take it there.

My car was overheating, so I took it in. They said it needed a new water pump and 1400$ worth in unrelated repairs. I wanted my car in tip top shape so I agreed to the repairs including a 4 wheel brake job in which I didnt even need rotors. The car kept overheating. So the 3rd time I bought it back they tell me its a blown head gasket which cannot be repaired. They told me not to waste my money on it. Then proceeded to tell me theres nothing that they can do. So I just spent 2300$ on a car I cant drive. I wouldnt trust them if I were you.

I have waited too long to give this review...Butitta Brothers on Mill Rd is exceptional. I would recommend anyone to go there, for any car work or maintenance they may need. Great customer service (Bill is an absolute delight), they do great work on your car, and for a very fair price! This is my go to place for any car assistance I may need. When I first moved here I wasn’t sure who to go to, I am glad I found this place and have only gone here since. Highly recommend for anyone who needs a wonderful, reliable, and expertise car shop. I have been there twice. Both times had exceptional service. Needed service completed with one visit. Bill was at the desk and was very helpful and accommodating. Everything was explained and fees were very reasonable. On second visit, i had an additional need and it was added without question. The need was obtained and installed. Appreciated the effort of keeping me informed. No question that this is the place for excellent service. Very satisfied.

They call with a description of the issues before proceeding and their prices are fair. My car experienced a terrifying electrical surge on the highway en route to Chicago. It was towed here by aaa and I am so grateful for that! The car was totaled (due to a faulty alternator installed by a different shop a few days prior - yikes) but Bill was incredibly helpful and patient with me in both diagnosing the issue and dealing with the insurance/appraisal/settlement drama that followed. He went out of his way to support me and be helpful despite the fact that I wasnt even getting work done at the shop. They also allowed to me to keep my dead car in their lot for weeks while I sorted through all of the bureaucratic mess necessary to get the settlement dealt with. Losing my dear old Volvo like this was such a bummer, but these guys really eased the pain. Thanks Bill & crew!

Brought my car here after the N. Alpine location couldnt get it fixed properly after returning my car 5 times over a month period. Finally called the regional rep and he sent me here. The guys in this store were super nice and seemed very knowledgeable. Only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because the cost they charged to do the other maintenance was very steep if you ask me. Over $1200 for a new timing belt and serpentine belt? Yikes.

I dislike when people take advantage of women, young men, young women, children and the elders. In order to keep business moving and growing with good clientele, you need to treat them as you would want to be treated as an individual and wage earner. Yes, this economy is up the stinker and Yes, we all need money...But....dont take advantage of your patronage by either Over charging, and charging for services that you are too provide in the first place as a mechanic (Diagnostic Charges) thats a rip-off, especially when the customer was told by another mechanic what was the problem. Remember as consumers always get at least 3 quotes before you decided to have a car towed or service at this shop. $240.00 for an alternator!!!! And $37.00 for a belt, really... total repair $472.72.I had the computer replaced on the same car in the same week for $220.00 @ at repair shop in Chicago. This is how you keep your customers happy by being honest and not take advantage of them. Customers who are satisfied tell friends and family. Customers who are dissatisfied tell Google Review. ***Whats done in the dark will eventually Come to Light!# Enough Said

I had a very bad experience at this location. My car received two dents in the hood while in their care. I don’t know if it happened in the lot while it was there over night or what but when I went to pick my car up the manager walked out to meet me and preceded to act like nothing had happened. He tried to hand me the keys and usher me along but I stopped him and asked what happened to my hood. He immediately got very defensive, swore at me multiple times, and told me that it never could have happened there because they work on $100,000 cars every day. The only positive of the whole thing was that when he brought me inside to talk to the mechanics they displayed the utmost professionalism. I left the shop with no real answers and the responsibility of fixing my own hood.

These folks are very helpful and easy to talk to. The manager told me what my check engine light meant, and offered to service it the next day. I told him I was traveling and didnt have time to wait, and he continued to provide helpful information and answer all my questions, even though I wasnt going be a customer. Bob and Ben are amazing. I had to fly in to get my Porsche to drive back to Texas and it needed a new ignition cylinder and tires. The cylinder got held up in customs for weeks and I wasnt going to have a way home. Ben was able to take the original cylinder apart and rebuild it! It saved me 300.00 and I was able to pick up my car on time. They also did a complete once over on it to make sure it was ready for the 1100 mile trip. Will never go anywhere else!

Took my truck in two years ago for a transmission rebuild an everything seemed fine for a little while but then problem starting happening o2 sensor wiring harness was not hung or tied up like it should have been and then come to find out my speed sensor harness was never plugged back in an was just hanging freely never letting these people touch my car again

Took my Yukon in for an air conditioning repair and ended up with a $550 bill. To make a long story short, after three visits to fix the air conditioning, it wasnt ever fixed (it still wasnt working after a vacation with my grandchildren driving in 108 degree heat in a vehicle without air even though I was assured by the manager that it was safe to take on vacation). After their misdiagnoses they didnt want to work on it a fourth time (nor did I want them to). Took the Yukon to Marks auto service at noon the same day, they had it fixed by 5pm, faulty a/c compressor.

Beware the manager bill will try to win your trust by being nice and acting like you’re his best friend while they run up your bill!!!! the $750 estimate they gave me I went to another garage $250 job was done they looked at the estimate they gave me and they made up a lot of stuff that didn’t even need to be replaced. Do yourself a favor and don’t even bother with them unless you want to be screwed!!!!!!

Called to get an estimate on my brakes for my bmw to get a better price than the previous shop that I took my car to, who ever the Idiot was on the phone told me that I should just go to the previous place because they are lowballing me. I was skeptical at first about this place because of the mixed reviews, but decided to go with a friends recommendation who had work done here before.Took in my 06 Rav4 to be serviced because the check engine light came on. Dealt with a guy named Bill who worked the front desk (cashier?). He was very nice and assured me the diagnostic check showed only a belt needed to be replaced. Said OK.Turns out Bill (who apparently fixes cars too), without notifying me, also changed the alternator (an extra $250). I took the old alternator to a mechanic friend of mine who assured me it was fine and didnt need to be replaced.Thanks a lot. You only get two stars because you fixed the belt correctly. But man, these guys will get your pocket book.

Been a customer since 2018 will continue being a customer till they prove me not to be. These 1 star and 2 star rating past customers are leaveing here are misleading and a joke. Bill goes way beyond in providing good customer service. Also I never ever had my car that would not start after they have done work. And there do alot of work on my car. Since 2018 I pay atleast 3,000 in repairs and never had a issue of them not doing there job right.Thank you Bill and his staff members my parents and I are greatful for your honest and generosity.

This is completely insane! I paid a $700 repair bill for replacing my fuel pump 6 months ago at this location.... My vehicle wouldnt start this week so I had a local repair shop look into it. Diagnostics said the fuel pump wasnt working. Upon removal, the fuel pump was noticed to be the stock fuel pump for my vehicle...the only noticeable difference was a single piece of tiny plastic was used to Gerry-rig the fuel pump into working. This is exactly why we dont trust mechanic shops. Theyre a money pit, operated by scheming dirt bags. You dont even deserve the single star that I had to press to leave this review. if anything...this was more of a discrimination against me for being female.#donttrustbuttita

Im sad the see all the previous bad reviews, as I have nothing but high praise for this place and the people that work here. I was on a cross country trip when my hood started acting up, not closing fully. I looked up the closest auto shop that was open, which was these guys. I called them, explained the problem and said I would be there in about 30 minutes. They wrote me down, and when I arrived quickly took my car into be looked at. Not 10 minutes later they came out, saying the problem was fixed and Im good to go. Didnt charge me a penny. Everyone I talked to was professional, kind and courteous.

I took my 2001 Ford Explorer to Bututa Bros on Mill to get red of a bad squeal from my serpentine belt. Bill, the service manager is professional and polite. I do not get the feeling that they are trying to rip me off. My check engine light is on due to a O2 sensor, and instead of trying to convince me that it HAS to be fixed, Bill explained to me that I can wait to get it done. They also gave me a ride back home which I did not expect, I appreciated that.

I had a problem with my air conditioning on a 2000 Dodge Neon. I expected the worst, like you need a new condenser or your compressor is bad, and that will be $1500 to repair. Instead, Butita did a thorough test of the system and found that my refriegarent was too low, there were NO LEAKS, and that my compressor wasnt running due to an electrical short. I got out of there for $192.Honesty and integrity at work!

So I had my wife take our 06 Pacifica to Lubepros (we have never been there before) for a quick oil change before vacation because I did not have time to do it myself. The car started profusely leaking oil and we took it back after vacation. They told me that my main seal was bad and that there was conveniently a mechanic next door who could fix it. Instead I took it to Butitta after seeing all the great reviews. They cleaned off all the oil from underneath the car, took parts off, checked everything and showed me that it was that the plug had not been tightened and they were trying to cover their tracks. They had not done their jobs correctly. With the car running Butitta showed me it was not the rear seal. If i had listen to lubepros I would have taken it to their guy and fixed something that didnt need to be fixed. End of the story Butitta did work on my car, the mechanic was friendly, front desk girl was nice, and to top it off they didnt charge me a dime. Id give them a review greater than excellent if I could.

Everyone is very nice. Everyone assures you its under control. In my case - everyone was wrong.1 star is the correct rating for my experience at this shop. This isnt some ranting angry person, this is a customer who fell for the spell of being over-promised and then getting under-delivered.Took in my 03 Camry to have it serviced for a loud knocking sound under the hood. Not good right? Well, the symptoms of the problem were obvious: oil light comes on then bad sound ensues. Diagnosis: Busted oil pump (oil wasnt getting to the engine) and a timing belt gone awry (140k miles is about right to replace the orig. belt).I am told it will be singing like a bird within a day. This was Xmas Eve. 12 days later, the car is done. Why so long? Some of the blame falls on the holiday season. Some on weather. But the brunt falls on Bill, the manager. Time and again I had to call and check on my car with no one calling me. This, after Bill assured me the part needed would be overnighted (he let it slip in a later candid conversation that he indeed did NOT overnight it - causing another 4 day delay).In short, a 2 day repair took 2 weeks. And cost $1,400. Yes $1,400. Which makes sense considering the labor and parts breakdown. Not mad about that. What am I upset about besides the snake oil esque salesman treatment? On the way home to Indianapolis, the car starting showing the exact same symptoms as before. Essentially paid $1,400 to park my car in their lot for 2 weeks and was scolded for calling them and calling them OUT on their malpractice.In the end, the jokes on me. This stressful episode cost me a boatload of money, my relationship with my girlfriend, and gave no solution to my original problem.High ratings for oil changes and windshield wipers. Got a big job?Dont. Go. Here.

Many of us fear that automotive places are trying to rip us off and its true. Some do, some dont. I paid just over $40 for windshield wipers at a different automotive place but afterwards, butitta told me they would of done it for about $10. I went around to few different places and 1 place told me the banging noise I was hearing was the struts and would of cost me $225 to fix. Butitta fixed that problem for FREE in no time! I couldnt believe it. I highly recommend butitta for your car needs. THANK YOU BUTITTA!
