We have frequented Half Price Books for many years, my family and I, recommended to several friends throughout that time, and enjoyed the benefits of having such a wonderful business in our local area. All the employees we have encountered have been friendly, helpful, and fast in checking us out in line.

The shelves were half-empty! Either business is good or someones raiding the trucks before they get to the outlet. Anyway, I never walk out of here empty-handed, not even when a terrifying book shortage grips the city. Theres always something fun and/or weird to read.

Amazing selection. They have so many books, movies, music, and bundles to choose from all in great condition. The clearance section is always a first stop for me because they are no different from the books on the other shelves. The staff are a super friendly bunch. If they cant find some thing in store, they will have it shipped from another store. I visit here A LOT! It is my happy place. I have brought my kids and friends and their kids and we all love it!!!!

Looks like this is the last stop before the furnace... they dont buy books at this location, so it appears it just the books that dont sell anywhere else. My husband usually has good luck finding graphic novels at every HPB but there were hardly any here. Unless you live close, not worth a drive

Books are very well priced, and my fiancee always finds what she is looking for. If not its an excuse to go back next week! Staff is very nice.

Always helpful staff and being the distribution hub inventory is always changing just be aware that special orders that pull from other stores take longer than they say.

We went here for the first time this weekend and it was awesome! We usually shop at the regular locations, but it was fun to hunt through the discounted items. I also really liked how they bundle the items together based on theme- super cute idea. Additionally, the staff were very friendly and helpful. They are doing a wonderful job of keeping the store and carts clean.

I love my Kindle, and all of my book reading is done on it. However, I love going to this place. I havent been to a Half Price Books for a while, and this place reminded me more of a used book store than the HPB Stores I remember. The staff was very friendly. The stock was eclectic. The prices were very cheap. If you are looking for physical copies to read, come to this store.

This store is nearly as comprehensive in subject areas and selection as Barnes and Noble is with new books, and at 1/3 of the price. True, some of the books are marked up because theyre uaed. But that doesnt bother me. Staff and friendly and helpful. Always a great prowl for lost treasures.

We have a lot of the videos we like but always lime to go and see if they have new stock. Also when they have their salesnit really helps to add to your. Collection without braking the bank!

I love this place! If they have it used, you can get it way less than full priced. The staff is always, always super friendly and helpful. They actually go above and beyond. I just called for a book and was given that and 2 others by that author I didnt know existed! Notebooks, cards and other novelties are really inexpensive and for gift-giving, recipients never know I maybe only spent $4 on them! Shhhh! 😁 🎁 📚💗

Great place to browse and you obviously cant beat their prices. The staff are wonderful and super helpful. While I didnt require extra attention, many others around me were helped finding books from other stores etc.

I consider myself somewhat of a connoisseur of bookstores and this one is at the top of the list because of their Stellar customer service and the amazing prices! I love this place and I will definitely be coming back soon :-)

This place much more about the nostalgia of non digital books. The prices arent always that great because you can get digital books for a very cheap rate. I do recommend this for the nostalgic feelings, not for book value though.

Best book store if you are searching for book store with lower price. Decent collection. Most of them are refurbished books but who cares when you get a great book for a lower cost!

I rate this low based on what they used to be in Rockford. They were a discount outlet and decided to move to a full-fledged Half Price bookstore. Gone are the days of getting really good deals. Now its above what you could get on eBay. So sad. I used to go there weekly and get amazing deals but now I dont even go because its more cost-effective to buy them online. They have a pretty good selection though. Id recommend going there just to see what they have.

Wide array of books at discount prices. While many of these books are used, the vast majority are still in great condition. The staff was friendly, and the store has a comfortable atmosphere.

I read real books, they have really good selections and are willing to help find what your taste in books.

Great place to find those hidden gems you might have not even heard of

They have a large inventory of used books. If you are a book lover this is a great place for you. They also have used vinyl records. They did not have an impressive variety but they did have some Beatles albums. They also have 45s available. Used comics are also there. The prices are good I bought two records for under ten dollars.

Can always find more than I intended to, and at reasonable prices, way better than paying new prices for books, just have to be patient until the new book shows up used.

Most prices are good here. The rating would be a 4. But the fact that they give discounts to teachers but refuse to give the same respect to veterans (I have the card to prove my claims). Teachers ARE great. But veterans are the ones who keep us safe from the evils of the world! Even when places do NOT have a veterans discount. But they have discounts for others: seniors, law enforcement, etc. The business ALWAYS applies a veteran the discount from the other group. Why discount books stores do NOT respect veterans had me baffled.
