People that own the store are very nice and helpful. If your not quite sure what you need for your recipe they do their best to help. Prices are very good as well. Enjoy going there.

This is the only grocery store in Rockford to shop for Asian ingredients. They have fresh herbs and products that you would not find elsewhere. Whenever I’m making Vietnamese, Thai or even Korean food, this is the place I stop by. Area is a bit questionable but I go during day light :). The owners are honest and welcoming.

Smaller than the shop Im used to but still has everything you would want. Careful when you pull in, their entry is a bit narrow so it may be tight if theres someone trying to leave at the same time.

Great place to shop for authentic oriental ingredients and food. The owners are always super nice. Theyre always working very hard for their customers. I shop here often.

Its a solid Asian market. A bit cramped but densely packed with product. Japanese Vietnamese, and Chinese are all in representation.

Its a place for people who are far from home. They can go here and buy ingredients found in Asia. And get some comfort food. Very sweet hard working ladys work there.The man I met working there was respectful and always working hard.

Great grocery store! Fresh produce, great variety of noodles, herbs, meat, fish, grains and more. The people who worked here were INCREDIBLY helpful and kind as I had to ask some questions to identify some produce. All around great place to go to get some quality ingredients next time you want to make a good curry!

Ive been a semi regular customer here since at least the mid 1980s & I absolutely love shopping at Golden Market.The staff is nothing but friendly, helpful & competent.They practice visible food handling hygiene, plexiglass barriers & ALL of their staff DEFINITELY wear both masks AND nitrile gloves as well as encourage customers to use their hospital grade hand sanitizer.The cashier visibly wipes down the purchasing area with Lysol between customers.Social distancing is absolutely NOT an issue even with a half a dozen fellow customers.As a long time customer, I highly recommend Golden Market for just about any/all multi Asian countries foods & even household items.And for Muslims, they even have a nice range of halal items.Golden Market has something for nearly everyone & I hope they stay in Rockford for many many more years to come.Thank you, Golden Market staff, for 30+ years of affordable Asian shopping enjoyment!

Theres a bunch of little hidden gems that youll find for your next recipe, but good luck finding it as the store is a little disorganized lol

Best asian store in rockford

I am so happy to find somewhere in town that I can find Gochujang and dangmyeon! Im hopeful that I will be able find other Korean recipe items as needed so we dont have to trek all the way out to Hmart!

They have banana milk and lots of ramen. They also sell pork buns and Asian pastries.

Greedy and unpleasant. Price will show up less on the sticker and will ring up more and they refuse to adjust it when its their mistake. This has happened more than once.

Maaaaaannn! This place got it all for anything asian! Rare spices and sauces! Noodles out the wazoo! All your grain needs... If youre cookin authentic you gotta go here! Dont forget the king of flavor... msg

This place is amazing and their customer service is unmatched.. I suggested a product and 3 days later I just happen to be in there and they had got it! I couldn’t believe it. They were really listening to me. I was also 7 months pregnant and they were so helpful and requested to carry my items for me and helped me with everything.. It was very refreshing to feel so welcomed.

Hey 5 stars, what can I say, if you want a true Asian Market experience where you can get Asian spices, real pork belly, and so many more sauces, then this is the place you are looking for frozen fish etc. Very friendly staff.

Decent selection of food/ingredients. I enjoy getting all sorts of steam buns and sweet drinks from here.

All sorts of Hidden Treasures here if you look hard enough. Real Bonito flakes and kombu! Staff is always very friendly and helpful.

Great store if your looking for Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese specialty items. You will find it here. I was looking for matcha powder, not tea bags. They had it, from japan. It is a specialty supermarket. Very nice ppl.

Love it 😍 and its wide selection

The selection and store was fine, I was just weirded out by this Caribbean man who seemed to be their unofficial security. He kept walking around trying to talk to everyone, but it only made me go the other way... if Im ever in Rockford again, I would go back for items that can travel well (I live an hour and a half away).

Bit pricey, but it is one of the few places to get real Asian food in Rockford, so they can keep their prices at whatever they want them to be. Its also the most authentic place in Rockford to buy Asian food. So, they have the corner on that market. The store owner is also pretty friendly and makes polite small talk. If youre old and buy heavy stuff theyll even help you carry it to your car. The only down side is that the store is in a bad part of town. Hope they can afford to move to a different place, but I doubt they will because theyve been here as long as I can remember. Good people, though.

Very interesting, looking forward to shopping there more often but with a dinner in mind. I was more interested in seeing what they had so I walked away pretty satisfied. I make my own Kimchi they have Gochujang paste, one less order from Amazon. I love the packaged soups, found Pho so looking forward to tasting it.When I checked out they had premade sandwiches, I picked the pork belly sandwich...OMG! My husband and I both enjoyed the flavor their bread is so soft and tasty. Next time we will take 4 sandwiches home since we are over an hour away. Yes, looking forward to shopping at this store.

Fufu I was so happy when I saw that they sold fufu Asians Mexicans and Africans are similar liters when it comes to the rice and the beans and the sazon and stuff like that you know what Im saying my wife is from Congo and she has her and her mama too theyre from King Sasha and they love the Golden market fufu so good I repeat fufu is good food food forever I love fufu

You can find oriental supplies for cooking and serving at a great price.

They do not carry chicken pieces other than wings. They do not have a big selction of beef either. All Asian based food.
