The quality of service has improved significantly at the Rockland store after Hammond took over.Its a small store so its understandable the selection is somewhat limited but Hammond will need to improve the quality of wood to remain competitive with Spears or Vikings.

I called Hammond Lumber in Rockland three times in 2 days to see if they had in stock what I needed. All 3 times the 3 different people I spoke to were polite, professional& knowledgeable, always asking if I needed any further assistance before hanging up. When visiting the store two times in two days the service was friendly, respectful& helpful. Hammond Lumbers prices are competitive with Home Depot & Lowes with the random items I purchased. This was such a pleasant shopping experience Ive vowed to shop there as much as possible. Thank you Hammond Lumber for excellent service.

Made the decision to have some lumber custom cut here. Everyone was pleasant, helpful, and happy to help us. The prices for lumber are fair and the quality is better than big box stores. We will return here.

Theres always friendly the staff and helpful. They work with contractors and homeowners. They have a better selection and of higher quality tools than the big box stores.

This is where I grab alot of my gardening stuff like soil and plastic containers but they have much more from paint to hardware!
