I had a really good experience here. I brought my Volvo C30 in for scheduled maintenance which cost about half of my previous trip to the dealer. They found a very dangerous problem that they repaired for a reasonable price.
If you own a Volvo, skip the dealerships or any other repair shops. From the top down they are the best in Maryland. My engine locked and I thought i would be covered under a warranty but was not. Towed it in to Scandinavian and they brought it back to life without it needing a new engine. They explain everything and never try to pressure sell you like service agents do. They give you great prices on parts and their expert technicians are outstanding. Its been 4 months and no issues and I plan on taking the vehicle back to get the timing belt done! Owner of a 2012 Volvo S60
We encountered a difficult logistics situation of diminishing manufacturing sources. The staff did their best and I happened to have had the part, ordered 8 years ago.
My interaction with SIS was by telephone, and the agent I spoke to was extremely helpful looking up parts I needed to get my Saab up to code for inspection. I would be very happy to work with this company in the future!
Would go nowhere else!! 20+ years of driving Volvos-ALWAYS professional, fair and do a great job! Never out to rip you off- just a great team of people- keep it real and honest- hard to find in this industry! Feel like family:)
Scandinavian addressed an issue I had with a vibration when driving, the oil change and leaking struts. It was done on time and with kindness. TJ and the team are very professional and are quite knowledgeable. They provide the best service each time, big or small, your vehicle is their number 1 priority.
Professional service as always. Honest and reliable recommendations based on your wants and needs. So glad Ive found a reasonable and reliable BMW service provider.
These guys truly care about you and your vehicle. They are professional, honest, and very knowledgeable. I have a Saab and been going here for a few years because I trust them and don’t believe they would take advantage of me.
I have used Scandinavian to maintain my Volvo for many years. They have always been patient in explaining what needs to be done. They do quality service with reasonable fee. They have always been honest with what needs to be done.
Highly competent and friendly staff.. quality work.
Super clean and professional.TJ answered the thousands of questions I had very politely and everything was done quickly and efficiently. Most recommended for any Volvo.
I own a vintage Volvo, and only trust their services even though Im out of state. If you want the job done right, given the peculiarities of these cars, youll be hard pressed to find a better spot for your Saab/Volvo/BMW.
It is a great place. Honest and responsible. They have full printing diagnostic report for your car with all the detail and recommendations. They also keep the history so you can request one of these in future. Price is a little high but they have one day 10usd rental service. 4/5 just because I have anther better choice. 5/5 for my experience.
Were a long-time customer, both for service and for new/used cars. Scandinavian has earned our trust and respect. TJ is a great customer service technician, explaining all our options to decide the best course of action.
Great people. Great service. Been there several times - always excellent work on my BMW.
Honest repair shop that does good work. They will tell you if they think you need the work done, or if it can wait, something I appreciate.
As a first time customer, I was pleased with the service and honesty of the staff. They worked on my Mini Cooper and fixed a Service Engine light I was unable to clear. They also did the correct diagnostics to make sure there was no other issues that would trip the code light. I also took my BMW in for A/C service. Now it works great. They fixed both cars for a fair price and called to let me know what they were doing.Ill be using Scandinavian Import Service again.
Scandinavian was very accommodating in helping us when our Mini Cooper developed a broken exhaust manifold. They did the work in a professional manner and gave us a discount because they didn’t have to use some new parts they expected to have to use. They are honest and do quality work. I highly recommend them.
Scandinavian has been taking care of my Volvo since I bought it in 2009. Theyve always been extremely professional, helpful, and honest, telling me what was absolutely necessary and allowing me to budget for the rest (or opt out entirely), and their pricing seems to be very reasonable for the market. I miss some retired staff (Phil!!), but continue to be pleased with their people, service, and business ethics. I always appreciate businesses I feel I can trust.
Ive been to Scandinavian before with a previous MINI, but this was my first visit in close to a decade with another car. They were same-day with servicing my R52, fixed everything I indicated needs addressing, didnt try to gouge me for additional work that wasnt needed right this second, (AC condenser being the big question as my AC needed a recharge). Signs of integrity and honest dealing. They also hooked me up with a rental car for the day that was cheaper than Uber-ing back and forth. Their service hourly rates are reasonable as well. Glad I went back with this MINI!!
They were very professional, explained everything and kept me informed, as always. They have high standards for the technicians and that results in great quality service. Fair prices and time schedules.
Great place to get my 2009 Volvo fixed. I almost paid 1050 at another place called Volvo Service Center, they also said I needed other stuff that was not really needed, my granpa is a Mechanic. They did my timing belt, oil changed and fix light bulbs for $647!!! I am always going to take my car there because they are honest, punctual and very professional.Thank you so much for saving me money and taking care of my car within one day. I love Scandinavian Import Service!!!
Went in looking for a part .The guys in the serv department were very helpful above and beyond expectations. Thanks for taking the time to help me.
Partly the reason why I bough a second BMW is because I know I can count on these guys if anything goes wrong.
Post pandemic check up program, oil change overdue due to non use over time but not exceeding mileage
Bought a c70 that needed fixing, so I took it straight to Edwin at Scandinavian. He was able to accurately diagnose all issues and fix them quickly. I highly recommend this center for all work. They are a pleasure to speak and do business with. Even the front desk really knows their stuff and could answer my questions without having to ask a tech. 5 stars!
Great service TJ was very professional reasonably price VC ery fair.
This is the second used Volvo that we purchased from Scandinavian Import Servicenter and will be third Volvo that we will have serviced their. The staff is a joy to work with. We are very pleased.
They know their stuff and will go out of their way to help help.
The service is prompt. Prices are reasonable for work on imports. Staff are friendly and informative. Work always done well. Pricing is up front, no surprises.
Hands down the best Volvo shop on the east coast. There isnt an issue they cant fix. Trust me take it to the guys at Scandinavian.
This is a very professional and trustworthy business
Very pleased with service.
The prices were lower than other places I called. They charge me much ess for a timing belt on my 2009 Volvo S60. I was quoted $1050 at some place called Volvo Specialist bad place, they also told me that I needed more work on things that are not broken. My granpa is a Mechanic! Other shops ended up quoting me about $1500. I called Scandinavian Imports and the price was so much lower, it was only 647, timing belt with an oil change and light bulbs replaced!!!I LOVE SCANDINAVIAN IMPORTS!!!!They are professional and punctual.I am going back for more stuff that I know my car needs and they confirmed it also. No pressure sells, they were such honest people.Thank you for the best work on my car and I love your shop.
Price is competitive, but it would be even better if their customer service was more consistent...About two years ago, I received an initial new customer discount through a promotion they were running which was great. That got me in the door. Up until my recent visit I thought they were overall a good shop.Recently went in for the safe and ready service on 6/4 8am and it hasnt gone that good. I didnt receive the advertised service detailed in the email communication. As of 6/6, I have yet to receive a write up indicating services that are recommended. I was told it would be emailed to me and confirmed my email before I left.In addition, other than having soap in their bathrooms, the shop doesnt appear to have made any noticeable attempts to protect their customers from the spread of covid-19... Of the 10-15 people I saw on the premises, none were wearing face masks or practicing social distancing. This included, sales, front desk, cleaning staff, and automotive technicians.
They have managed to keep my beloved (quirky) 2003 Saab 9.3 running. Competent and professional. Whenever I pass another Saab on the road, I ask them where they get their car serviced, and invariably Scandinavians name comes up, very favorably.
Thorough, honest work.
My trusted shop. Expert service, honest, reasonable and responsive. Way better than the dealer. Hard to find in this day and age.
Timely, accurate diagnosis and information. Very clean shop so car does not come with grease marks. Lifts to and from metro. Have been using this shop for years and highly recommend.
Having been a Scandinavian customer for over 20 years, I know the service will always meet the highest standard. No different this time either. Whether a BMW, Volvo or Saab (Ive driven all) Scandinavian provides the best service available.
I have had Saab and Volvo cars for 40 years and they are the best service team I have worked with over the previous 10 years. Well trained, efficient, trustworthy and affordable.Phil, at the customer service counter, is especially terrific at his job. I can call him a friend. I have had problems while traveling and find that he can diagnosis and provide answers to mitigate the issues.
This place is AMAZING!! I was visiting MD and had to get back to PA when my car started having issues. Im picky about where I take my car so I researched mechanics in the area and this place looked top notch. I called Scandinavian Import Servicenter and they were able look at my car and get everything fixed all in one day! Both Phil and Clyde were extremely helpful and understanding. The pricing was super reasonable and fair. The garage was spotless and probably one of the cleanest I have ever seen. I couldnt have had a better experience and Im happy to say I will be a life long client when I am in the Rockville area. Thanks so much for everything!!!
The team was super transparent and honest about the work they thought my car could use versus what wouldn’t be worth it. A great experience overall.
Simply the best place to service the 7 cars I have purchased here.Alan, Frances, Clyde, and all the service personnel are consummate professionals.
I take my SAAB and BMW there for all maintenance. Very fine mechanics and much cheaper than the dealer. I even used the detailing service this time also great work.
Scandinavian Imports takes wonderful care of my 2011 SAAB 9-3. I feel confident having them work on my car As their staff has the trade knowledgeable necessary to perform all repairs.
Excellence in customer service and on my Volvo. I will return. We have been a customer for over 5 years. Thanks to Manuel and all staff. Fair pricing!
We always receive great service when we bring our Saab in! We appreciate the fact that they will go over what service is needed for it. We are so impressed with the service that we bought a BMW there! We had a great experience in buying it with Frances. We will continue to bring both cars to Scandinavian Import Servicenter.
I havent been here in years, but when I used to have a MINI,I only brought it here the staff was always very honest and the techs did top notch work.
Bought a car. Best purchase experience ever, thanks to Frances. Topping it off, I love the car. It has been mine a month now and it seems every day I like the car more. A pleasure to get in start, drive and stop (every stop I look forward to another trip).I purchased a Volvo S60 and have to wonder why I dont see them everywhere. The safety ratings are off the charts and the drivability is just perfect for me. Me, not a F1 driver, but I have raced (auto cross) and this car is as fast through a corner as i need. Actually for auto cross something lighter would be nice but i bet I would not be last. Thanks to all at Scandinavian that made my experience so Good.
Always reliable repair and car maintenance. Excellent work, great service.
This was my first experience with Scandinavian Import Service. I went to the shop based on the reviews that were online. I am very meticulous about the service on my cars. I love to keep my vehicles in pristine condition. I had just taken my car to another shop for a vacuum leak. It was smoke tested and things were replaced. $1300 later, I still had the same fault code and the vacuum issue. Scandinavian was able to find the air leak and replace a simple item for a great price. I was pleasantly surprised. I make an appointment for my other 2 BMWs for service. The reviews are spot on.
Excellent idea for free evaluation- impressive speed of response and convenience
Massively huge auto shop. Courteous. Will work with you to find cheaper alternatives for expensive parts and repairs.
My wife and I just bought a car, for the second time, from Scandinavian. Frances couldnt have been nicer, and more helpful. The car was competitively priced--and when I brought it to my local Volvo dealership for the required Virginia inspections (SIS does Maryland inspections, not Virginia), the mechanic and service rep were both very impressed by what a nice car it was--both mechanically and cosmetically. Cant get a more unbiased viewpoint than that!!
Excellent service at better than reasonable charge. Got me in fast without the normally needed appointment. Been using SIS for a couple years now and Im about to kick over 200k on my 2006 330ci convertible and while there may be some cause to take it to the dealer for some specialized service, Ill continue to check with SIS first!!
Weve took our Saab to Scandinavian for years, and were always very pleased with the service. The guys who run the front consistently gave us honest information and a balanced viewpoint when we had to make a decision about work to be done. No auto repair is inexpensive, but we have always thought that Scandinavian was fair and trustworthy. We are looking forward to taking our new Volvo there when the warranty period is over!
My wife and I bought a car today and we can’t say enough great things. I’ve bought more cars then a human being should at 34 and this was the easiest experience hands down. Could not be happier with the Volvo we purchased. If your in the market for a Volvo, BMW, SAAB, or mini this is the place.
I have never had a bad experience. The work is excellent. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Someone has always been available to give me a ride to the Metro or even my office which happens to be just a few minutes from the Metro. I highly recommend this shop.
Gave me options, didnt oversell and fixed things correctly.
Squeaking and grinding - I knew my brakes needed to be replaced. I looked over them myself and figured at least the front pads and maybe the rear rotors. A previous shop in silver spring looked at my car and recommend that I replace both front and rear break pads and rotors. That shop quoted me at $960! I nearly fainted when I heard it would cost nearly 1 grand to fix my car. This was even more than my dealer quoted me last time. ($800)I called up a mechanic I trusted back in Cali where Im from and he recommended me to these guys at Scandinavian Import Servicenter. They looked my car over and said all I really needed was the front pads to be replaced, everything else was in decent shaped and could be replaced later on. Their bill only came out to about $170, saved me over $700 bucks. Honest great guys, very accommodating, know their Swedish cars. I am definitely going back to them.
Great service, professional people... Love to give my car here...
Scandinavian Imports Servicenter is the best place to get outstanding automotive service and to purchase excellent reconditioned used automobiles. I have done both over the past ten years with the utmost of good results and satisfaction. There is no place on Earth that does better. Scandinavian Imports Servicenter is multiples superior to their competition.Recently gave me a most satisfactory experience while finding an expert solution to correct a serious engine break down. The repair of my 2004 Volvo was complicated by its age and by being driven 255,000 miles to date.Excellent communication from Scandinavian Imports Servicenter management gave me detailed information about my service and repair options.I received good advice, weighing the options, to have the job completed. The repair gives a significant extension to the life of my vehicle plus improving its performance and handling.Service management kept me continually up to date with good information that clearly demonstrated a conscientious follow-up as the job was completedTechnician Edwin demonstrated excellent expertise. He possesses great energy combined with the most impressive diagnostics, evaluation, and mechanical skills.I believe the complexity of my 2004 Volvo repair is well beyond the capabilities and expertise of the normal Volvo dealer. I feel very fortunate I could go to and rely on the Scandinavian Imports Servicenter to do the most involved, complicated repairs right!
Always top notch service! The most honest, reliable and ethical service center around. I will drive my Saab until it retires and plan to purchase a Volvo or BMW from Scandinavian, thats how great they are. Customer for life! Thanks again for everything you do.
I am employed here, so this may be a biased review to some. But its worth noting that this is the best job Ive ever had in the automotive field, this company treats its employees quite well compared to other shops in Rockville. Happy technicians do better quality work.
Knowledgeable about all things Saab and Volvo. Probably Mini and BMW as well, but I dont have direct experience on those. Fair, down to earth, always looking to work with you, not pick your pocket. I trust Phil and the rest of the service crew like no other auto service place I have ever been.
As the owner of a rare GP1 Mini I am very particular about quality of service for my car. They truly are one of the only places that consistently matches, if not exceeds, my expectations!
Excellent shop that is clean, organized, and professional. Scandinavian Import Servicenter is not some fly-by-night operation. They have serviced my XC-90 many times over the years and have never tries to upsell or scare me into unnecessary work. They g=have taken very good care of my vehicle with professionalism and care unmatched, even by the dealer (and at a fraction of the cost).I highly recommend Scandinavian Import Servicenter for any Volvo owner.
Scandinavian has done an outstanding job of maintaining my Saabs for over 20 years. The level of customer service is outstanding and the prices are very reasonable. They truly understand the best way to keep the car healthy and running for 000s of miles. Highly recommended.
I truly trust these guys with my Volvo. They have solved problems that other shops were only guessing at. They never try to over sell me on services and they are reasonable, nice and friendly. I really cant say enough good things about them.
Excellent service. Ive services my Volvos at different Volvo dealerships, having an OK experience both quality- and price-wise. These guys beat the manufacturers dealerships in both.
Three visits, three instances of exemplary service. If it were not for SI, I think we would soon be giving up on keeping our Saabs on the road. They seem to understand WHY Saab owners WANT to keep them, in spite of the absence of a living auto company. That is most appreciated.
This was my first visit to Scandinavian Import Servicenter and based on reviews that I had read, I had high expectations. Those expectations were exceeded.Check in was fast and efficient. Within an hour the technician came out to see me in the waiting area to explain - in plain English - what the problem was with my vehicle and what was done to fix it. Being able to converse with the technician without having a service adviser filter the message was a real plus for me. Extremely clean facility, friendly professional staff and prices substantially lower than the dealership. Ill be bringing both of my BMWs here in the future.
I own a 2007 Saab Convertible. This is the only place I will take it for service. Great customer care, fair pricing and always done right. Lucky to have it in our area.
I have had service done here and just sold my car to them. They are very easy to work with and honest people. They could have told me I needed to replace my ac compressor and charged me much more, but they told me it could just be bent to fix the issue and saved me a lot of money. I highly recommend for any service or used car needs.
Having purchased several of our cars from Scandinavian, and had even more serviced by them for many, many years, I can attest to the quality of their car care, the reliability of their staff and their dependability. They unfailingly treat their customers with courtesy and respect, deliver their repair/service work on time and at a fair price.
An ultra clean shop with extensive knowledge on all the vehicles that they service. Great service advisors and mechanics, and convenient to anyone in the MD/DC area that wants quality service that exceeds that of your local dealer.
I got a quality service for a reasonable price; thats more than what I expected.
My first time witht them: 2010 Mini. So far, so good.Went for a second time- fast and good service.
They are the best. If you own a Volvo, Saab, or Mini, go to these guys. You owe it to your car. They will do everything in their power and under the sun to keep your car running and get it back on the road. I have the worlds most temperamental old Volvo 240 and they go above and beyond every single time. Thanks, guys!
My family has been a happy customer of Scandinavian for over 30 years. Since I was 16 with my first 1983 Volvo 240 Turbo I have always found them to be very high quality at very fair prices.
Excellent care for my Saab, but top dollar. Still, its better than taking a chance somewhere.
Extremely professional and reliable.
I didnt know what to expect from these guys but I will tell you that they are one the best Volvo repair shops I have ever dealt with! Being new in town I decided to give them a try and I am so glad that I did. The service was professional, the staff was friendly and pleasant to deal with, the price was affordable, and the job was completed really fast!! Honestly, I was so surprised when the representative, informed me that the work could be completed in 1.5 hours - new front struts and spring seats. Thats typically the time for an inspection only. There might be other good shops in town but I am sticking with Scandinavian Import Center. Great job guys!!! You earned my business.
It was great as always!
Great and knowledgeable staff. Reasonable repair costs. Warm family atmosphere.
Best place to get your Volvo, Saab or BMW serviced. They dont over charge and care about their work. Wont trust any other place with my Saab
My ten year-old Saab and I have only praise for all the personnel at Scandinavian Imports. Honesty and integrity are the words that come to mind.
Ive owned many cars and had them serviced by many knowledgeable technicians-- but none have been as knowledgeable, professional and user- friendly than the mechanics and front office professionals at Scandinavian. They have serviced my Turbo X ( and have been as thoughtful and caring about the car( a limited production model in 2008) as if it were their own. Hats off to Bogdan and Edwin, and the rest of the team ( yes you Clyde) each of whom are true enthusiasts. I cant say enough about this team and how much they can do given Saab sadly stopped making cars after 2011, when the business filed for bankruptcy. I recommend them without reservation to anyone who truly treasures their Saabs..... you will feel like family when you meet the team!
Have been going there for several years and continue to appreciate the transparency and technical expertise of the shop.
They were very professional, polite, and gave me a great level of service for the price. I will definitely take my older BMW there again!
Our Volvo is a 96, so weve seen lots of Volvo shops and dealers. This one is the best -- brilliant, honest, and professional. We had a malfunction wed been told would be really expensive to fix, and this shop knew we expected a major repair, but they said it only needed a much less drastic, much less expensive repair. And they are expert: you dont have to come back to get things corrected; your work is done sooner than you expect; their prices are fair; their quality and professionalism are outstanding.A previous out-of-town A/C repair left my dash hanging, and they fixed it without a word or a charge -- messes arent OK with them, even if they didnt make the mess. They did the same for my drivers side windshield wipers, which I could barely see out of before. I may find other pleasant surprises. I imagine people like Warren Buffet and royalty get this kind of service on their cars. At this shop, we all can.
This service center is the best. I take my 2004 XC70 there for all its service. They are honest, efficient and wonderful to deal with.
Awful experience. Prices are outrageous. Customer service is the worst Ive had. I can ALWAYS count on leaving the dealership still having the same problem, taking my car BACK to the shop and having to pay additional money. Dont even bother speaking with the Manager...he just sits in his Office and plays Solitaire on his computer. RUN AS FAST YOU CAN TO OTHER REPAIR SHOP.
Ive been going to Scandinavian for more than 20 years and have never come away dissatisfied. Like everyone, sometimes new parts dont work. Even worse when used parts dont work, yet Scandinavian makes things right, even when they didnt cause the problem. I have two 2003 SAABs, they keep them going. When I needed to retire my 1998 SAAB 9-3 convertible, I asked them for ideas about what I could buy. They didnt have the model Volvo that they recommended, so I bought it from a dealer. Of course, they inspected it and found a leaky strut, which the dealer replaced for free. The last time I went in with my 9-5 Station wagon, I complained of a slight noise. They evaluated it and said, Of course we can fix that, but it isnt something that is a safety or reliability issue. It is still making that slight hiss, but 10K miles since I took it in and it working fine. The cost: free. You gotta love these guys, especially Phil.
The best place to take your Volvo. I have Volvo XC90 have been going Scandinavian for the last 7 years and they always impress me with there professional service outstanding communication skills. They will tell you what is important to change and what needs to wait and they are honest and fair. Its the only place I will take my car for service all the way from Ashburn, VA.
Brought my 2007 Volvo XC70 in with no heat They replaced the heater core. Now I am as snug as a bug in a rug :-). Good service; fair price.
When my Volvo wagon hit about 75k miles, I started getting tired of paying the cost for service at the dealer where I bought the car (Don Beyer of Falls Church). Switched to Scandinavian (maybe five years ago) and Ive been a fan ever since.
Had MINI serviced here twice, both times were accurate, quick and comparably affordable.
