Was a great experience from start to finish. They built two new gates plus replaced around 40 boards and 6 post that were in way to much concrete. They were actually early and very professional. At the end I inspected there work and I will say it was top notch. Highly recommend using them. Great family owned company!
I am blown away at the customer service I received from this company. Everyone I dealt with was very helpful and friendly. I first received an estimate a few years ago from Randy, but we were not ready to move forward at that time. I sent my original estimate in and Mickey updated the price for me. The other companies I contacted said they would need to start over. Potomac Fences earned my business and will definitely recommend them to anyone I know who needs a fence.
I have worked with Potomac Fences several times now as has my father. In 2019 I scheduled an estimate for a partial stockade fence and gate replacement.They were responsive on the phone and scheduled the estimate in a timely manner. They sent an estimator who was not terribly personable but I got the pricing information I needed and I pressed to have my questions answered. I also had two other fencing companies provide estimates. Potomac Fences pricing was comparable but each fencing company has their own preferences for wood type depending on fence type, etc. I did my research and based on what I felt would work best in my yard chose Potomac Fences. My yard is not flat and they had to work in some awkward spaces and install the fencing over a tree stump.I was clearly told what the schedule was and the appointment was scheduled for the partial installation. The team that did the installation was efficient and clean and did a very good job. About 5 months later I had the remaining fence replaced. The communication, installation and follow-up were all the same, professional, thorough and solid work.The best experience comes after the fence installation was complete. The gate/post started to sag and the gate started to not close properly. This happened two times as the ground froze/thawed over the winter. The original warranty (1 year?) offered by Potomac Fences covers this type of thing and a simple email from me describing the problem was all that was needed to have someone come out within a week to resolve the issue, mostly by pounding the post back into a more upright position and making a couple adjustments to the fence.Now its a year and a half later, the fence is still solid, but over time the gate post has moved again and I reached out to the company again and just inquired if they knew of something I could do to resolve the matter, knowing there was no more warranty and that this really wasnt an issue with the installation. All my email conversations have been with Mickey and that was who responded again. I was very shocked and pleasantly surprised to be told that he would arrange for someone to come out and take a look, and someone was out within 2 days and FIXED the issue completely and free. Again by doing some pounding around the post and making a couple of adjustments to the gate. I dont expect the fix to be permanent given how the ground heaves and sags due to ground freezing and the weight of my gate but I know how I can try to address in the future.The responsiveness Ive had from Mickey and all the other communications Ive had with anyone with regard to estimates and scheduling and the install teams have been stellar and they provide great customer service. I would use them again and have and will continue to recommend them to anyone looking for fence installation or replacement.
Got an estimate from these guys back in late February 2021. Sent my payment in second week in March, told four weeks. Called shortly after that and told that we will call you . Gave my number again. Never received a call. Turns out their guy wrote down the number wrong and the voicemail was full when they supposedly called. Talked to Mickey last week (beginning of July) who said he was going to look up my contract and call me right back (several days ago). I gave the correct number. Never returned my call. When I called today, Mickey was rude. He refused to give me a refund when I said I was disgusted with their service. I will call you a week out, there are several people ahead of you! He yelled. I am easily findable in the white pages if they wanted to double check a number. I essentially have given these clowns a $600 loan for the past few months. I intend to report them to the Better Business Bureau. Will post again once work is done. Recommend avoiding this business. Recommend checking out A-1 fences or Long Fences.Correction: Never yelled at your secretary. Told her it is unacceptable to be waiting for months and I wanted to talk to the manager. It was you who would not stop talking over me, who started with raising your voice. What ever happened to the customer is always right? Well work until its right? A contrite apology and an expedited installation for what is a very small job would have solved it. Also, you never said anything about a medical thing until today. And I am pretty sure there was someone else who could track the file down if you were preoccupied. And the customer should not have to proofread for mistakes your guys make. Your secretary found the file in like 30 seconds with my name and address so not really buying the explanation.
Wonderful company to work wth!!! From the first phone call, up to the very end when my fence was installed. Carolyn was very nice scheduling my estimate appointment. Mickey and Cayce were great to work with! Both very professioal and super nice!! The estimator was on time, and explained everything to me the price of the fence was very afforable. Mickey was very nice when I spoke on the phone with him to schedule my install date. The workers worked all day, did not take a break, were nice and professional and respectful of my property. The fence was done in one day, and we love it!! My neighbors have made comments about how beatiful my fence looks, and have also contacted Potomac Fence to get work done. Paying my final payment Potomac Fence office staff were very nice, After I paid I received the paid invoice by email for my records! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND POTOMAC FENCE! From start to finish one happy and satisfied customer!!!!
I had a scheduled estimate with estimator Dale. Dale was extremely rude and acted as if I had wasted his time 5 minutes into the consultation. He was very unprofessional to say the least. His energy lead me to believe that my business was not needed.I have never interacted with a contractor to that magnitude. I felt disrespected and I was uncomfortable with our interaction.It would be helpful if he understood that the customer should feel valued and appreciated, in which he failed miserably by tackling both.

Potomac Fences originally installed my fence years ago and provided great work and great service. I recently called to schedule a service call for repairs. I understand that they are under new ownership and the change is apparent. They dont return calls, are difficult to schedule an appointment with and when you do get someone on the phone the individual is rudee....or at least the individual I was speaking with. Certainly not the same company that I respected from years ago.
Wow!!! This is my second time using Potomac Fences and wouldnt recommend anyone else. What a fantastic company and staff. The fence is absolutely beautiful. The weather was nearly 100 degrees and the crew came out and worked through the scorching temperatures. I couldnt be happier.
The end product is very good, to which I give 5 stars but what a stressful fight to get there. Mickey has zero patience and zero customer service skills. He was rude to me from day one when I enquired about the installation date. When he finally called me to schedule the installation I was in a meeting and when I called him back, only 15 minutes later, he told me that all the spots were taken (apparently he must have called all new customers?). The contract said 6 to 8 weeks for installation and my fence was installed on week 13. Also, the salesperson Dale wrote on the contract the wrong size of the boards that I requested and I only realized his mistake too late, after I signed the contract. I asked Mickey if this mistake could have been rectified and his only answer was you signed a contract, he said that a few times until he lost his patience and threatened me to take me to court. Finally, I asked them if they could help me with a coat of sealant and their answer was simply no. Mickey is not interested in helping out customers but only in profit. If you want to be treated like garbage call Potomac Fences.
I contacted Potomac Fence to fix my handle latch on my wooden fence and was told it would be $250 which is their minimum and was given a date in the future. But they just showed up without a call and just put two screws on the handle and didn’t even look at the rear door which also had a issue.When I contacted the owner MickeyHe wanted to charge me another $250 to fix the rear lock also.I would not use them again and they were not worth the money. They would not even talk to me and all their communication was done by email. They have no customer service and treated me very poorly.Would not recommend them at all.
Steve and his team did an exceptional job in installation of vinyl fence in our new home. We love it and the whole home looks elegant with the addition. The team who did the installation was also very professional and the price was very reasonable.

We had a great experience with Potomac Fence. Randy was prompt in his email replies and very direct about the project and understood exactly what we wanted. The pricing was very competitive. On the day of the installation, the team showed up early, which I liked. Alex was my point of contact and he was very nice and went over everything with me before they started. This company defines customer service. We just had our fence repaired and they did a phenomenal job. They followed up with me before and after the work was done and exceeded our expectations. It’s hard to find companies that actually care about each individual customer no matter how big or small a job is. Potomac fence will be my top recommendation from this point on.

Asked to have an idea of how much they would charge and on the basis of what measurements. The man on the phone refused to let me know and hang up on me today at 8:50 am. It seems like a good business but bad representative can do harm to a company name. I saw that a woman on the comment complained on the quality of customer care and as a woman that is what I felt too. Don’t they want to have informed customer before they come to their premises?

Please be very careful when dealing with this company particularly if you are a woman. I did not get the fence I contracted for. I should have paid closer attention to the negative reviews.

If less than one star were possible that would be a better rating. TERRIBLE customer service. Shoddy workmanship. Less than a year later both gates are messed up. Two weeks after calling they come out to “fix”. Now the gate that wouldn’t shut doesn’t open. Second gate still won’t lock. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.
The pricing was great and the guys did a great job on the fence. They made sure the dimensions met the strict specifications of my HOA.
In fencing - its become painfully obvious that size does matter! I recently had 195 running feet of privacy fence (including a gate). After spending two days cleaning up all the dirt scattered from the post holes dug, much to my surprise, the gate was off level and tilts downward (1/2 inch off level - I know because I checked using 3 carpenter levels)! My call into the office was rewarded with, well send someone out to check. Well, the check is cashed and Im still waiting!!!!!
