I have been using captain tires for a number of years now. They do very good quality work and they price are not overly expensive. My son even use them for repairs on his vehicles.

The owner... Big Jim is an outstanding human being... not to mention he is the only person I know that was actually at wood stock! Jim runs a tight business. He cares deeply about each customer. Jim’s sons grew up in his shop and they now are the best of the best when it comes to the automotive industry! I needed a auto repair shop for my daughter’s car as she was attending college in Rome. My daughter called once she dropped off car telling me how nice the receptionist was. I later spoke with “Captain” about some options for her repair and he helped me pick the best solution for our situation and budget. Best experience I’ve ever had with auto shop!

They broke one of my studs when I got tires. They failed to tell me. A few days later I had ran over a nail and had to get my tire plugged and I went back and all a sudden they noticed I needed a stud replaced. They are a bunch of dope heads and they dont care if they damage your vehicle or not. I will NEVER go to them again! I refuse to do business with dishonest people

This place is terrible. I took my truck to get fix cause it had a popping nosie in the front everytime I tire my wheel. It cost me a $1018.00. I did get my ride when I sapose to. Had my truck for 4 days. Well to make a long story short. It still wasnt fix. Still making the same noise. To it back yesterday and they saying they dont know what it could be. Do not go here.

The service is humble and expedient. The staff treated me with the most respect and showed great concern for my issues, and jumped right into the act of finding and fixing the problem.

Super friendly and professional staff. They were the only shop in town willing to work with my schedule and specific needs (they installed a clutch kit that I had already bought rather than forcing me to buy parts through them) and worked really fast minimizing the time I was without my vehicle. Vehicle repair and maintenance is painful enough as is, these guys are great and will not add to your problems at all.

Captains has been a huge blessing. My sonis a student at Shorter and Captains has helped get his car back on the road twice the last few months. I am an auto tech in Baltimore, MD and obviously too far to work on it. I found Captains online and loved the reviews. I contacted Jim both times and he took over. He kept me in the loop about the progress and did a great job at a great price. As an auto tech for over 25 years I am hesitant about anyone working on my vehicles, but I am able to relax and trust that my sons vehicle is in great hands. Great service. Great prices. Great customer service.

Ive been to them twice & both times they told me I needed parts I did not actually need. I wish Id learned the first time because the last time I spent over 1000 & they didnt even fix the problem. My vehicle will just stay broke down before I take it back to them again! Take your stuff to Thompsons Auto if possible, theyre the only ones in Rome that have done me right.

I would have to say these guys are awesome. I got a transmission fluid flush. IT was done professionally and a lot cheaper than anyone else could do it for. My transmission is running so much better.My truck is very happy so am I thanks so much yall

Quality work of your car 🚗

I had suspected I might had blown a head gasket in my car. So I took it to Captains to get it checked out. When I first walked in, there was a Hispanic man at the counter he handed Jim a huge wad of cash, had to be at least almost 1k. That sort of sent a suspicion through me butJim checked my car out for free and they all were very friendly but then Jim came back and said it was the head gasket and gave me an estimate of $1,500. I wasn’t sure what to do. For a few months I was going back and forth in my head, to fix it or scrap it. I had to borrow a friends car from Calhoun to keep from damaging my car anymore, till I figured out what to do. And almost bought a used car because of all this... the symptoms didn’t quite match up, so my aunt told me to take it to another place to get another option...I found out it was just the valve cover gasket which I got fixed for only $270 by some other mechanic... my head gasket was never messed up. I guess he was just trying to get 1.5k out of me. But all this cost me a lot of unneeded stress. I won’t go back there ever!

Honestly, waited two hours for an Interstate battery warranty replacement, two hours! Will never return, my two hours are too valuable, they should pay me for the loss of my time.

Did not put the brand tires on he said the tires do not have a load rating put 4 wheel drive tires on a van my tires that come off that were like new his mechanic put them on his truck with out asking me you have lost my business fore ever

Mechanic was pretty rough on my car while pulling it out of the shop. I get youre in a rush, but some people like to take it easy on a car that is already having issues.

This is the only place that I take my vehicles for repair. They are honest and only fix what is broken and they would not cheat a customer even if the customer would never know they had been cheated.
