I love this old timey soda fountain and grill. We always stop here on the way through. The first time on the menu is best, a fantastic burger. Only available well done (I prefer medium rare at establishments that trust their meat supplier) but it was juicy nonetheless. Surprised they charged $0.50 for each tiny cup of mustard. Took that out of the tip since the waitress didnt give fair warning. On balance, delightful place and great food.

Best shakes / malt in Houston. The fried chicken salad is just something from heaven.. I now do not enjoy chicken salad that has not been previously fried. Spoiled. Been coming here for years. Always tell myself that I will wake up early enough to come to get the special but they sell out fast.
If you havent tryed this place, try it!!! The service was wonderful and the food was great!!! The place is so cool. Its locally owned & the owner, Rene, was really fun to talk with. The chains restaurants are so cold & so many times rude. I have found so many mom & pop places which unfortunately are overlooked in todays world. Most are really great places. Plus when you support local businesses it helps our smaller town. But try this place out. The ice cream alone is worth the trip 😊
Went for lunch here on our senior citizens monthly field trip. My suggestion is to stick to their everyday fare of burgers and specialty sandwiches. I got the blue plate special and was very disappointed with the flavor or rather lack of flavor on the pot roast plate. Their salad consisted of ONLY lettuce and a slice of tomato. Hmmmm. My banana split for dessert was awesome though! Might go back and try a burger or sandwich at another time.
I went here for the first time the other day. I got the 1/2 pound burger and it was pretty good. But the fries were horrible. I cant explain it, how do you screw up fries? Yet, they managed to do so. They were hard with no substance. Similar to the texture of gum that has been chewed to long. Got a float as well and it was a float. Nothing spectacular but okay when your looking for desert.
Great place to bring kids to have ice cream! Service was great and very attentive! Ive only been for the ice cream/malts/shakes/banana splits, so I cant speak to the food, but it looks really good! They are typically a little busy, but you dont have to wait.
Great old fashion vanilla shakes. So big I had to take it home. You have to visit Old Rosenberg. I love to walk and stroll through the antique shops.
Great root beer floats and nice antique shops in the area. Nice way to spend an afternoon and cool off with ice cream!

This is a great throw back restaurant with old time soda and milk shake options. The decor matches the theme with really cool old pictures of Rosenberg. The staff is very friendly and the menu is as expected for a place dedicated to keeping it simple and old fashioned. Lunch is the best time to come since they tend to close early. My kids love how they prepare the hot dogs and their burger is pretty solid. I do not recommend the Rueben as it is very small.
Fantastic customer service and the food is one to brag about. The restaurant is listed as one of the top 10 in rosenberg, tx. The big open windows allow the sunlight to shine in on you and the view of old town Rosenberg is very nice. The food was great, fresh squeezed 🍋 lemonade and a nice grilled hamburger. My son enjoyed the chili cheess hot dog. Thank you for adding to our memories!
Brilliant and charming gem, excellent food, service and setting. Originally mixed coke, 7-Up, Dr. Pepper, etc... food was really good, great portions... Milkshakes are criminally good!!! 5☆

Worth the wait for the amazing food and great service! Went on a Sunday during lunch so we knew there would be a wait. Wasnt too bad. One of the best chicken sandwiches Ive ever had And the fries were done so well!Unfortunately we didnt have time to order anything fun from the fountain but Im sure that would have been just as amazing. Plus, gives us something to come back and try next time!Thank you for a great experience!
The chef salad was difficult to eat. They used leaf lettuce and didnt cut/ tear it to be bite-size pieces. The ham, turkey and cheeses were cut similarly large. The knife wasnt even sharp enough to cut everything. Most people rave about this place but for me it was a dud.
A nice atmosphere, nice folks that took care of us. It was nice that management greeted us. Food was ok, sodas and ice cream were great. A good place to meet friends and talk.

I came here today with my daughter and we had an absolute fantastic time. The atmosphere had a vintage feel and really takes you back in time. It blends in well with the surrounding historic district.We ordered the blueberry milkshake and my two year old about destroyed the whole thing by herself. Food was delicious and the staff was very sweet and attentive. I would highly recommend this place and return again.

Not a good experience. The worst service ever. I should say we were never served. We stood there and no one ever came over. There was no shortage of staff that could have come over and asked.

I was introduced to this place by a friend. We stopped to try the shakes and I have to tell you...they are just like the good old days! The food is good as well! It’s a family/friendly environment. I highly recommend going on the weekend so that you can take your time and enjoy the food/shake. They also give you the left over shake if eating there.

How can you go wrong? A delightful stop on a hot day for a sundae, shake and a phosfate. A quaint and beautiful place. Next time I want to sit at the long wooden bar to have my shake.Mask rules were fully followed throughout the town and this place was no exception. I hope to visit again - hopefully post covid!

Great place for families! Super old fashioned shakes, Malts and sodas. Simple menu. My favorites are the chicken strip sandwich, the hot dogs, patty melt, and daily specials. They are s big supporter of the community, and giving jobs to many local youth. Great decor, and location for shopping antiques, or costing the Railroad Museum.

This place is absolutely fantastic. You should definitely try the root beer and any type of shake. The burgers are Beyond imagination when it comes to flavor. Theres nothing bad to be said about this place. Also the antique shops surrounding this establishment are truly one of a kind. When you leave dont forget to stop at Lucky Rudys to play the lottery. I played Powerball today. Lucky $4!

First, we didnt get the desserts, which is probably what they are best at. The sodas my wife and I got were not good, I suspect the water/CO2 was off. I switched to water. The menu is uninspired. The service was pretty good. I do love the building and decor, its worth a visit just to see.The bathroom is a single and my son had to dance outside the door while waiting for someone to come out. While waiting, I saw the posted health dept. score of 81/B. The staff was helpful and friendly and the place is extremely family friendly.For a family of 5, lunch was over $50 and I only had an order of sweet potato fries, probably the worst Ive ever had. I think they were burnt Ore Ida. It was the healthiest option I could find that appealed to me.I would take the family back if we are looking for desserts, but wont go back for a meal.
The food is simply incredible! The service is impeccable! If there was only one thing I would change about this restaurant, it would be maybe the noise level. It isnt awful, just echoes because its an old building with brick and plaster walls. But the food is outstanding. They have burgers and fries that are completely delicious, or a shrimp and fish platter thats oh my goodness yummy. They have a strawberry salad thats just beautiful! Anyway, give it a shot. Seat yourself, try the daily specials!
I come here mainly for the old fashion drinks. You want a killer Milkshake or Malt? This is the place. How about a fresh made Vanilla Dr. Pepper, or a Phosphate? Dont get me wrong, the food is good, its homemade fashion. But I come for the drinks and desserts. Kids love it too.

This place is a wonderful throw back to a time when soda fountains were common. This was the first time we ordered food as we normally stop for the heavenly chocolate and banana shake. We shared the chili-cheese hotdogs and a Reuben sandwich. The dogs and sandwich were great. The accompanying sweet potato fries and onion rings were okay but nothing to brag about.Besides the wonderful shake, the atmosphere and the friendly service are the highlight of the place. Its definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.

We have my 4 yo daughters birthday party here. When I met the owner for preplanning she was very accommodating and reasonable. He was also very friendly and I cannot wait to work with her again in the future. The day of the party, all the staff was attentive to my over 50 people party! Everyone had their food and drink in an orderly manner and it was correct. They were friendly and I give this place a 5 star for great service, great atmosphere, and a Great menu

This place is amazing. The blue plates are so yummy, but go VERY quickly. If you are wanting their blue plate, plan on getting there before noon, because on most days they are gone by 12:10. The burgers are also very good, but opt to get the sweet potato fries. It has an old time soda fountain, i dont personally like, but my family LOVES it!The staff is very good! My family goes here at least once a week and one of the waitress will have our drinks before she even greets us! It is wonderful! The owner is so nice and tries to make her rounds to say hi to everyone.At the end of your lunch make sure to get some sort of ice cream. You wont be disappointed!

I LOVE THE MILKSHAKES HERE! I recently came to Rosenberg to celebrate my anniversary with my boyfriend and this is the first place we stopped. And I sure am glad we stopped! I ordered a strawberry milkshake (probably the best Ive had) and got a large glass of it with extra in the metal mixing cup. I also got some french fries which were delicious and a big portion. My boyfriend got an Italian sandwich and some onion rings, both of which he said were good. Also, the sodas were delicious and sweet, tasting fresh. The only thing that was annoying was you had to pay 25 cents for a very small container of ranch. Apart from that this place is a MUST SEE! From the decor down to the food, this is a great place.
One of my wife and I all-time favorite eateries in downtown Richmond, Tx. Right next to the train museum. Has an old school vibe, ice cream and soda bar, great food and super friendly staff. So glad they are still there after all these years, and especially after the crazy lockdown that has ruined so many businesses. Visited there today, May 29th 2020 and theyre still there cooking up greatness! Awesome place. Highly recommend!
This place really takes you back in time. With all the photos on the wall and cool things to look at it makes you put your phone down and enjoy the moment.The staff is really friendly and will make a good recommendation big you ask. The Coke float is awesome. The food is good and takes fresh. I had the burger and it was definitely filling.When we left the waitress even gave us a box of pastries from the bakery next door.Great place for a first date or a place to bring the family.
I come here and always wonder why a place that could be so remarkable...isnt. I want it to be and wish the owner wanted it to be as well. Apparently it doesnt matter, for there are many people coming in and out.

Took our family of 6 (4 teenagers) and was disappointed in the food. We had the grilled cheese (charged extra without being told that would happen since our girls got both cheeses, which the waitress offered), the chili cheese dog basket, and the adult grilled cheese. Food was definitely lackluster and not worth the price ($65). The shakes, ice cream soda and coke float were DELISH and that is the only reason I gave 2 stars. We may come back for dessert but not for food again.

Visited with a party of four. We ordered the adult grill cheese, Rueben, and chicken tenders. Everyone was happy with their choices. I also ordered the chocolate shake, which was delicious. My wife ordered the freshly made sugar free lemonade, which she loved. The service was friendly and good. We’ll continue to come back.
Where else can you experience an old style diner. The sodas and milk shakes from vintage equipment and trained staff. The best. Is popular on weekends, but it is a great relaxed crowd.

Ive been wanting to try this place for a while and keep forgetting about it. The location is pretty cool. Downtown Rosenberg is a very interesting looking place. The waitstaff was very friendly to us the entire time. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time, made accurately and was reasonably hot. The milkshake was the best part. It was a pretty good place. We will go back when its convenient but it just isnt the type of place that I will be craving.

If your are looking for a place where you can enjoy great food delicious ice cream and go back in time this is the place to go. The owner is one of the best people I have ever met
