Purchased a new patio table and chair set! Arrived earlier than expected - delivery men were amazing - very attentive and helpful. Had to exchange one chair for a slight damage and was 100% satisfied with how they handled this exchange. Highly recommend this store
A technician came by to troubleshoot the heating problem with our Jacuzzi spa a few days before Christmas 2020. It was determined that it needed a new flow switch. Also, I asked if they could order 3 new headrests. I hadnt received any updates so I had called several times to find out the status of the order. In January, after I called, they said they ordered it, but due to COVID, it may take a while. Once it comes in, theyll call me. Finally, at the end of March, I called to check the status, and they said they have it. Who knows how long it was sitting on the shelf or desk. Youd think once you get the part in, youd call the customer ASAP and set up an installation appointment. They finally installed it at the end of March 2021, but they said they couldnt order the headrests. They werent available. OK. It took less than 15 minutes to install the flow switch. Great. Heres your $153.53. On a whim, I went on Amazon and saw the headrests I needed and ordered them. I got them within a week and installed them in less than 10 minutes. I also saw the flow switch on Amazon for $65.50. I wish I went on Amazon sooner. I would have saved some money, but more importantly, I could have had my spa back in service sooner. This is an authorized Jacuzzi sales and service store. They should step up their customer service.

Not nice and un-helpful
My first time visiting, its an absolute winter wonderland, in awe when I walked in the door. So many things to see and I wanted it all. I got a beautiful flocked tree and the associate that helped me was super helpful and amazing. I will be going back soon.
Don’t think a fake expensive tree will be the answer to your tree woes! Last year I thought it was the best tree I had ever had. Put together this year only to have half the lights not work. Had to lug to warehouse where no one knows what they’re doing, took 3 weeks to get done and then tried to charge me when I have 2 year warranty. Well tonight half the lights are off again for no reason. Do not buy a tree from California Backyard, you will be unhappy and full of regret. Not to mention out a pretty penny.

If I could it would be a zero.Yes I did get a refund, but Della and Kyle have the attitude that customers should be chasing them as to “where is the special order”. No proactive communication on their end.We place an order early March. They shut down and didn’t tell anyone and no idea if they would reopen. Several times I called chasing to ensure they weren’t closing for good and we can expect delivery. You would think after chasing the business 4-5 times following up with them, they would get the hint and follow up once with us. No, they feel it’s the customer’s responsibility.Finally when I do find out if they ever received the order, one says this morning, the other yesterday and Dell left a message last week. So why didn’t anyone call to inform us? Lazy customer Service.When trying to share my perspective and experience with Della, all she did was talk all over me. She doesn’t want to stop to listen to grow and do better next time. They just don’t care.Good luck if you place an order with them.

Buyer beware. They will take your money and not help you as a customer that is dependent upon them for professional guidance. Hopefully you will take your business elsewhere. I will continue to post here and other places in an effort to cost them more in lost business revenue than it would have cost to make things right with me and my purchase. Dont ever tell a trusting customer one thing and not deliver after taking their money.
I was at the location in Rancho Cordova and the manager was helping us with a $5,000 patio purchase. Neither the manager or our family was wearing a mask and there were plenty of other people in the store without masks as well. We wanted to add some pieces to the set we were buying and the manager said he didnt have them but we could probably find them at the outlet location in Rocklin. We agreed to go there and then come back to buy the complete set. We drove 40 minutes to the Rocklin location and the two ladies working there very rudely told our family we could not come in without masks. There were no other customers in the store and I explained that the manager, who wasnt wearing a mask, had sent us to their location and she got very upset and told me I need to back away from her because I was standing too close, even though I was at least 10 feet away from her. We turned around, walked out and bought from a different patio company who appreciated our business.

Went there to purchase top rated Twin Eagles barbecue and side burner with built-in island. Sales personnel were knowledgeable. The good experience stopped there. BUYER BEWARE! Their customer service department has only one outside contractor do all installations. California Backyard in Roseville claims to have no knowledge of what this contractor charges (note: he is expensive, continuously stated Oh, California Backyard didnt give you that part...i can sell it to you!).They also claim to have no knowledge of what he has or has not done. They wash their hands of the transaction once it leaves the door. I called a Karen, apparently head of customer service to complain about lights not working after less than a year. She offered Would it help if I got a letter from the contractor, stating he installed the unit correctly? (Obviously not) She stated she would call back. Never did. Similar calls to the Eureka outlet received no call backs. I called Twin Eagles directly, and their helpful staff walked me through the installation that was not completed by the installer. Moral of the story. Plenty of other outlets offer Twin Eagles. Avoid California Backyard and their installer until they get retrained in customer service. Allen Ostrofe
False Advertising
Customer service was terrible. Im from the UK and my accent is pretty thick. The manager Allan was showing me a hot tub and he was talking in a Scottish accent and I could tell it was fake, then later I hear him talking to a coworker and he has no accent. It was awkward and tacky. Then when I asked another manager a question about the holding policy for the hot tub, a middle aged woman with long dark hair who I didnt get the name of, she looked me dead in the eye and said I dont know, thats not my job. I cant believe this place.

Went in found a bbq with regular price, opened the bbq there was a flyer in side staying 100.00 less. I asked the sales person if this bbq was this price. He said today it is. so I bought it. When they delivered the bbq, it was not the one I bought but the version with no side burner, so I had them take it back. The sales man called me and apologized, saying if I wanted the one with the burner it would be more money. I reminded him of our conversation and he did remember it. Throughout the afternoon I probably talked to him 5 times. He offered an upgraded floor model, then told me I would have to pay 50.00 additional for the model I bought, then the last conversation, he told me I never saw the bbq with the burner!!! Really!!!! I called the store manager and made her aware ...I will never shop here agian, if you do and Chuck wants to help you.....RUN!!
Avoid this place! Went here to shop for patio furniture but they are extremely over priced. Same furniture at Costco for half the price and customer service. Decided to go with a BBQ because the sales guy Peter, a relative or something of the manager, lied to me about delivery and said he could get it delivered within a week. Just call him back Monday. Well he was off. Tried the staff but they were not helpful. Tried again Tuesday and got the manager and wow. Rude. Offensive. Definitely has no idea about customer service. Going to have to go down there to get a refund because I dont trust they will do the refund over the phone at this point. Stay away from this place. Go to Costco or anywhere else!!! Trying to warn you.

On the last day of the State Fair I put $1, 000 deposit on a future order they identify as a Lay Away. Its probably done that way because retailers can more easily keep a deposit on layaways. A typical layaway is when a seller holds inventory in stock while the customer makes payments on it. When the customer finishes paying for it he gets to take the merchandise.California Backyards is not holding anything for you EXCEPT YOUR MONEY!!!!. And Ill bet they keep a lot of it. I cancelled the order 2 days later and now have made 4 phone calls and sent one email and have waited almost 2 weeks and they still havent credited the refund. They processed my deposit in minutes and now California Backyard is stalling the return for weeks.
Nice backyard furniture, BBQs, hot tubs and fire pits. It is over-priced, however, and they have a very small inventory of fire pits.
