UPDATE: When I went to pick up my vacuum, the owner asked to carry my unit outside for me. While we were outside, away from the other customers inside the store, he began to chastise me for leaving my first review about the poor customer service. Told me that he ‘Would like me to not leave reviews like that anymore.’ Said something about having been sick for two weeks etc. My response was that my review had nothing to do with my vacuum not being done quickly, but was about the poor customer service we received. He again stated that he would appreciate me not leaving a review like that again. So, instead of apologizing for the rude service, he got on me for leaving a bad review about poor service.FIRST REVIEW: Owner is nice enough but when we went in to check the status of our vacuum, the girl working was not nice at all. She was very short with us and very snarky. What has happened to customer service?
Excellent customer service! Over the phone and in person. I had no idea what type of vacuum I was looking for, but the young lady did an amazing job at listening to my needs and finding me the perfect high quality vacuum. Thank you vacuum and sewing world! You have a customer for life from me. Dont let the negative nancys steer you away, theres always a few out of the bunch that NO one can please.
I took my ancient Kirby vacuum in because it stopped working efficiently. The owner Howard assessed and diagnosed the problem within five minutes and had an estimate. He also went over options with me for other great vacuums but in the end they decided to keep this old relic. After a tuneup and a few parts, I have a brand new Kirby. I went home and vacuumed my entire house. This is a long-standing family run business and they are experts. Thanks Howard!
They helped me on the phone and fixed my vaccum issue. They could have had me bring it in and charged me but they didnt. I will be buying my next vaccum from them!Thank you!!
Why cant all shops be like this one?The owner Howard truly knows his stuff. Found the part I needed immediately, and guided me on how to install it properly by sand papering the chrome shaft that was made rough from wear and debris. This advice clearly added much life to the belt. He even gave me a small piece of sand paper to smooth out the shaft properly. :) He rocks. The shop is very clean and organized. Huge selection of vacuums and sewing machines.Bottom Line: You cannot go wrong here.
I purchased a SEBO hose/powerhead for my central vac. The kit cost $599.00. Not cheap. The sales woman was informative - mentioned the system is German Engineered and high quality. I bought it, used it the same day and it didnt work. The hose kept turning off in the middle of vacuuming. I called Vac/Sewing World and the owner answered and helped me trouble shoot. He was convinced my Central Vac system was bad, but allowed me to switch out the hose for a new one. When I entered the store to switch out the hose, the woman who sold me the product said. Its not the hose, its your system. But well switch out the hose if itll make you feel better. Well, guess what. It WAS the hose. The switched-out hose works perfectly fine. After spending $600 in this store, the customer service I got when there was an issue was one with SNARKY undertones and that is definitely something this customer could have done without.
I had a wonderful experience buying a vacuum with Howard (owner). I knew I wanted a Miele but didn’t know which one. He perfectly described the differences between the different models and made my purchase choice perfectly clear. I’ve never been so comfortable buying a high end item in my life! I am confident that Howard and his store will take good care of me with future purchases, questions, or service that may be needed. After using it for the first time today, I am in love! I will definitely be going back when I’m in the market for a sewing machine too! Thank you Howard!
Howard provides wonderful, honest customer service. I really appreciated him walking me through exactly what he was going to fix on our vacuum and even discussed his profit. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this place. I will be back whenever my vacuum needs servicing.I picked up my vacuum about a week later and it works 100x better than it ever has! Thanks Howard!
Great experience! My vacuum is like new. It was cleaned, has a wonderful smell and operates great.
I have two experiences to share. First was a year ago when my 20 plus year old Eureka vacuum cleaners belt broke. I took the belt in. Howard, the owner, told me what I needed to do to fix the vacuum. He could have tried to sell me on a newer vacuum, but thankfully he didnt. He earned my trust from this experience. This leads me to my second experience. Yesterday, my wife and I came home with the newest member of our family, our son. The Eureka was no longer operating anywhere near as it should. We were in need of a new vacuum. I called the store and spoke with a nice lady. She told me they were closed, but if I were to come in the next few minutes, I could have my questions answered. I went to the store and Howard was there to greet me. Once again, he answered my questions. I had already researched which vacuum I wanted and knew why I wanted it. I bought the vacuum and Howard showed me everything I needed to know about it. He was kind, patient, and not pushy. Please send him your business. You will not regret it.
Finally found a place for everything Kirby! The clerk was very helpful and friendly. Good service!
I see a lot of nice reviews on here but my experience was not so nice. They told me my Miele needed repair to the tune of $389. I went for a second opinion where the vacuum was fully repaired and is working fine. Cost $70.
My Dyson Animal V8 stopped working. I was given a quote which I found reasonable. The repair took longer than expected, because once the repair was in progress, they found additional problems with the machine. They fixed the necessary problems at no additional cost than previously agreed upon. I was very happy with their service, my vacuum has been running great for almost a year now with no problems under heavy usage (2 long-haired dogs). They were polite as well which is always important.
They are awesome! I bought a vacuum cleaner and moved across the country. But they still continued to provide service to me — even though I will probably never be a customer again. They make you feel like family. As far as the vacuum cleaner, it is my favorite! I have struggled with finding the right one. The Miele is IT!
Vacuum and Sewing World fixed my Dyson Animal vacuum quickly and for a reasonable price. When I had an issue with the machine shutting off they cleared a major clog in 5 minutes while I waited. Definitely recommended.
My 7-year-old Dyson recently stopped working and, after reading positive reviews about Vacuum & Sewing World, I took my vacuum in to ask for a free estimate. I prefer to do business with family-owned businesses such as this one and was pleased to be personally greeted by Howard, the owner, who was friendly and had a thorough knowledge about vacuums. Rather than spending the money to repair my old vacuum, I decided to purchase a new Miele specifically designed to pick up pet hair. Howard seemed trustworthy and genuine and he did not pressure me to purchase a new vacuum. When I got home, I compared the price on Amazon and found I got a great deal at Vacuum & Sewing World. And...I LOVE my new vacuum!
I brought my vacuum in for repair and was given a reasonable estimate, but also a recommendation to replace it with a Miele. I went home and researched, but was unsure of which model I needed. When I came back a couple of weeks later, I was given a very clear explanation of the differences and it made my choice very easy. I never felt rushed and all staff was courteous.
Brought my Sebo vacuum in for repair. Was told my beloved 14 year old vacuum would be too costly to repair and be better off in replacing it.Howards service was fabulous. Ended up replacing my old vacuum with the exact same model. Their prices were better than online, not to mention I always prefer to support local businesses. Am a happy customer. Thank you.
We were looking for a new vacuum and wanted to make sure we got a vacuum that met all of our needs (carpet, hardwood, dogs). We loved the selection, the time that was taken to explain the differences in the vacuums. We bought a SEBO and I wish we would have discovered this place years ago! We love our new vacuum and will send everyone we know here! Awesome customer service!
I needed a new vacuum and had a great buying experience with Howard. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Howard explained the different vacuums and had me try the vacuums and see the differences in person. Im very happy with my purchase, and know if I ever have a problem with my Miele vacuum I have a 7 year warranty.
My Dyson vacuum broke right before Thanksgiving - I called and dropped it off for a FREE ESTIMATE. They were quick to get back with an estimate, and were very precise to explain how the charges were broken down (labor, various parts). The shop is clean and neat, I wasnt shopping, but they have a super selection of fancy vacuum cleaners, and some very interesting sewing machines. If I needed to buy a new one I would for sure check them out. They were super fast getting my vacuum back to me! and boy does it run great!!
Its hard to find a reliable repair service on anything today. We live in a throw-away world. I found this business on the internet. Upon entering the shop I knew my broken sewing machine would be in good hands--clean, organized, nice sales person and top notch vacuums and sewing machines for sale. My machine was repaired to perfection; in a timely manner and at a reasonable repair cost. I will definitely go back. Thank you.
Great store! Good selection of vacuums and sewing machines. I was impressed with the cleanliness and organization of the store. Best Ive seen. I will recommend my family and friends to visit for sure.
Owner and staff are very knowledgeable and friendly . Full range of Miele products, accessories, and service.
Howard, the store owner provided good service and helpful information about choosing the right vacuum. I highly recommend this store.
Took my Pfaff sewing machine in for service and repair. I was in the middle of a project and had a class coming up, so I was rather stressed out when it completely froze. I got a quote within 24 hours and had it back in my hands in a couple of days. He went above and beyond in fixing it and was very accommodating in getting it back to me in time for my class. I will be going there for the service of both my machines from now on.
It is family owned. They carry a broad range of products. In addition, they can service and repair even very old machines I saw them working on a 1950 vintage singer . I purchased a new inhouse vacuum to replace my 30 year old Kenmore. It has a Hipa filter which they stock, great during the wildfires.
I spent $750 on a whole house vacuum head and hose on March 15, 2016. The hose just ripped open making the vacuum useless. I called the Roseville location and they will not warranty the vacuum hose. They offered to sell me a new one at a price almost $70 more than Amazon. Do not spend money here, they do not stand by the products and charge top dollar! Ironically their Motto is “We sell the Best and service the rest”.Update: The owner just called me. He was very agitated and was unhappy with my review. He throughly lectured me in my review and finally, He threatened to no longer cover my warranty on the head unit (several year warranty that does not include the hose) and hung up on me. Unprofessional.
Brought my Shark vacuum in for a repair and ended up purchasing a new Miele vacuum. I wasnt upsold, I was just sick of paying $300-600 on a Dyson or Shark every few years and then another $100-150 to repair them 2 years later! The owner, Howard, was very helpful and knowledgeable and gave great customer service. Im very happy with my experience!
I bought a Miele C3 Pet model. It vacuumed about three years worth of ingrained saint bernard dog hair from the carpet without any problems. I can build another full size saint bernard from all hair in the trash bin now. Sales man was very direct and professional. He tells it how it is as if he built the product himself.
Most professional vacuum store in the area with great selection!
Had the parts I needed, but the customer service was greatly lacking in politeness and customer care. Id go back, but only because they are close to my house. Also the Amazon prices were cheaper, I just didnt feel like waiting.
Knowledgeable and friendly. Hard to compare with internet prices as you dont really know what you are getting with the accessories and add ons, but worth the slight bit extra for the support and keeping a local business around when you need them.
I have 2 Dysons that needed repair absolutely the best service. I will continue to use this place.
I called, researching the Riccar Entry Level R20E. The owner didnt have that model in stock but had it brought to his store the next day for me to take a look at. I had done lengthy online research so was in and out with my purchase in 5 min.(ideal shopping exp. for me). I will update with a performance review once I have truly used it. It looks simplified, well thought out, and high-quality for the entry-level price point ($289). UPDATE: WOULD NOT recommend the R20E! (Very Related Note: store receipt says All Sales Final - 10 days EXCHANGE ONLY on UNUSED items. One would be hard-pressed to make an informed exchange on an unused vacuum(?), so this clause leaves any exchanges to the owners discretion. I also find it less than forthcoming that this policy is listed only on the receipt rather than posted plainly in the store. You wouldnt know this info. until your transaction was concluded and the receipt was in your hand. That being said the owner was reasonable on the exchange of my vacuum (I was told that the reasonability would depend on which model I bought up to...), but to get a unit that was effective on both carpet and floor, and had good hose suction, I had to pay a $500! difference and climb (way) up that price ladder.(BTW - fairly certain that in CA retail the return/exchange policy has to be clearly posted if it differs from the standard 30 days refund/exchange, but I didnt want the fight and just wanted to be done.) Problems with the R20E: poor hose suction (you get better hose suction on a $75 Dirt Devil), worthless performance on hardwood floors, and the worst feature - the telescoping hose, which functions on a twist lock. I tightened this feature within an inch of its life trying to get it NOT to collapse back down on itself while using the hose/attachments (rarely stayed put as any pressure seemed to vibrate it loose again to the collapsing mode). It looks simple and easy while youre standing in the store. But even more annoying was the fact that when you go to pull the hose out of its hole in the base unit for usage, the telescoping tightening feature has worked its way to relaxed again, and instead of it dislodging from the base as you pull, you are watching the hose just get longer/extend itself like a really annoying magic trick. And the hose is at an awkward entry/exit angle on the unit which makes this flaw very difficult to work around. Pros of this unit: the motor, unit, and workmanship seemed to be solid and high quality. It was the first vacuum I have had in decades that felt like it would last ten years. -Sadly ironic as after only a few uses I didnt WANT it to last that long. My options however were to 1. tough it out for a decade with this sub-par, clumsy, annoying thing 2. complain about the non-posted exchange only policy to CA agencies and fight for a refund 3. give this vacuum away and go buy a $200 Eureka 4. cough up a large chunk of money and move up the ladder purchasing from this same store. I coughed it up, and now own the Riccar Deluxe Brilliance model which was on sale for $800. =/ To some $800 is a small price for a vacuum, but I am one who cannot help but do the math on how many cheap Eurekas that same $ would have bought from the start. So unless this newly traded up $800 model catches the floor on fire, its staying with me (seeing as how I sure as HECK am not exchanging up again from here). If it is a fantastic vacuum it will have paid for itself in Eureka years in a decade. This review is detailed as I did EXTENSIVE research before buying the R20E and found NONE of its detractions listed - anywhere online. I am hoping to save others the headache and $. Fingers crossed that this $800 Riccar Deluxe R30D does what its supposed to, and for LONG time, or this whole thing will go down as one of my worst purchases. I have left the store rating at 4 stars, as the manager made attempts to be accommodating and talk me into to the higher priced model from the start, but the overall experience for me is a 3-star at best.
