This store is amazing. Very clean, very well put together and amazing product. We appreciate everything about it from the veteran working behind the counter to the family owned feel, you will not be disappointed. Unlike corporate music stores, these people will take time to make sure your equipment is set up right and give you advice. A++

They were super friendly and helped us one on one. They let us test any instrument and gave us info and history on each one. We own a few ukes and this was the best time selection in the area. We highly recommend the strum shop!

I had my eye on a ukulele online, but I didnt want to purchase it sight unseen. I checked The Strum Shops website, and they showed one in stock for the same price as it is sold online. I went to the store to check it out and immediately fell in love, so I took it home with me. The store has a wide selection of cases but happened to be out of the particular case I wanted (they had it for concert and baritone sizes, but mine was a tenor). They called me just a few days later to let me know the tenor case I wanted was back in stock. Molly was a joy to do business with and made both transactions as easy and comfortable as could be. I definitely recommend you check them out if you are looking for a stringed instrument or accessories.

My special other and I went in yesterday about an hour before close in search of a Ukulele. They have TONS! The Strum Shop ended up having much more of a variety than other stores that Id visited, and they have competitive prices too! But the one thing that stood out was Dan, the man whom we found out owned the shop! He was INCREDIBLY helpful, answered any and ever question we had, and even took the time to give my S/O advice on building her own Ukulele. Amazing shop, amazing owners, customer for life!

I am absolutely pleased with The Strum Shop! When I called to get information for possible lessons for 3 of my kids, the gentleman on the phone was knowledgeable, friendly and patient with my questions. I have one taking drums with Evan, one taking guitar with Jon, and one taking piano with Julie. I am very pleased! You will not be disappointed shopping or taking lessons!

I am moving and wanted to sell my old banjo. I was hoping I could trade for a nice ukelele. I swing by The Strum Shop and no one was available to look at my banjo. I was encouraged to return after 3pm and thanked for coming by. I ran some more errands and stopped at Guitar Center. The gal that helped me was nice but I had to wait for close to half an hour for an email response on what they would offer me for my banjo. I was stuck wandering around...no one even offered me a chair. I decided not to sell it and drove back over to the Strum Shop. Boy am I glad I did! I was helped quickly and was offered a fair amount for my Banjo. I decided to trade for a concert sized ukelele and he helped me find exactly what I wanted including a case. Thank you for hearing what I wanted and helping me to find it. It is obvious your store is run by professionals that care about their customers

Very friendly staff, and seemingly willing to answer lots of noobie questions my friend had, with patience and smiles. Lots of ukelele, and small selection of guitars, and a few basses, accessories and sheet music, all for very reasonable prices. Wide selection of string sets, you can probably find what you need.

I always come here whenever Im in Downtown Sacramento! Great little music that specializes primarily in ukulele and other string fretboard instruments. They have plenty of classes to offer, from private lessons to group meetups. The used instrument selection also has a gem or two; I bought a Dulcimer Guitar when I was there!Best part about the place is the selection of strings. They have numerous options for ukulele, including string packs for a low G on ukulele if youre interested (thats why I go).

I love this place, friendly guy. Great amount of strings and products and things I need for my ukulele. They have chairs and a stage on the side, where my son had a guitar recital. No need to go on and on about this one, but if you need guitar strings or stuff for your string instrument I highly recommend it.

This place was a sweet surprise! Its in a nice location, but parking is a bit difficult. Thats my only complaint. Randy walked me through the basics of guitars on the market and told me so much about our Grandpas guitar that I brought in to be serviced. Its a great place for 3 solid reasons:1) Knowledgeable and caring staff -- never felt rushed; never felt like my lack of knowledge was ridiculed, nor did I feel patronized.2) Sales pitches were gentle and considerate of my need to stay on a budget. I was excited to find a lovely, gently-used Fender. Because I bought a whole package, he even extended a discount! Like, WOW!3) Its a local, non-big-box shop with personalized service. Along with that, helping the little guy and supporting my local community just feels so good. Especially when getting the exact same guitar wouldve set me back an additional $80 on Amazon! Like, WHOA. Who knew?!?I am forever a customer. Well done Strum Shop!!

It was an excellent place before the move to Vernon Street, and it is larger and even better now. I have had several guitars adjusted, set up and maintained there, the work has also been excellent. Their selection of guitars and basses is always interesting, not the usual group of large corporate franchise instruments. I plan to drop by fairly often, there is always something new and interesting there. Nicely done, folks!

What a gem! Roseville is so lucky to have this wonderful store. The owners are dedicated to encouraging musicians of all abilities and ages. They are helpful, friendly and have an excellent selection of ukuleles and other instruments. Their prices are competitive (please buy local!), and if you dont see what you want in the store, they will happily order it for you. They offer private lessons, group lessons, concerts, and many free community classes as well. My children and I all learned to play ukulele together here and love having such a joyful, musical activity to do together. We cant say enough good things about this business.Thank you, Strum Shop!

I have purchased three ukuleles here so far and every time I walk by the hundred or so ukes hanging on the wall, I always find another that I want to buy. They also have a great selection of guitars and all kinds of books and music accessories. Great thing is that even if they dont have something, they are willing to order it special. The Strum Shop is my favorite shop. I am so sorry to hear of the passing of the owner Stu.His family is carrying on. His daughter helped me pick out a wonderful Koa wood tenor uke, which is the perfect uke for my hand - I had a broken index finger and need the narrow neck for bar cords, and it has a very nice action. Everybody loves its delicious sound and it is easy to play.Randy and Dan are very helpful. I have bought 20 ukes here, for family members, and sold on consignment within a week, 4 of my ukes, guitars.I enjoy the free strum workshops. The new Vernon street location is so much larger and I love the old Towne Roseville location by Roseville Theater, than the small shop. I recommend the Strum Shop to anyone interested in buying a uke. Great selection, always changing, and I always find one to please the heart of the person whom I take in who wants to learn to play the uke.

I originally came in to get a new nut cut for my Gibson SG. The repair took longer and cost more than originally advertised, and the repair man left several issues that I had to fix myself (buzzing on A and low E, new tuning problems due to roughness of nut slots, high action, used strings other than the ones Id left for him and specifically asked for him to use). Fortunately, however, when I brought this up with the shop, out of the $50 that I was charged, I was refunded $40 labor cost. (Still on the hook for $10 though).EDIT: The manager for the Strum Shop started hassling me over text message after I posted this review. LOL.
