We really enjoyed our visit! Lots of quirky memorabilia, information, and art. A quintessential Roswell experience for sure. We also found all sorts of cool things to send to relatives and friends in the gift shop. Its not too big, an easy flat walk through the exhibits with space enough to distance yourself from other guests, and when we went (a Wednesday in mid October) parking was easy to find.
You definitely don’t need to be a believer to get some enjoyment out of visiting this museum and seeing all it’s exhibits. It’s only $5 to get in and though it’s not a huge museum it still offers a well put together timeline of our history and events since little green men started visiting us here on earth(or so it’s said that is). I was very impressed by the amount of detailed documentation that’s on display offering real creditability to the possibility of other life being out there and visiting us. Most people will likely approach this place with much skepticism(and they should)and more likely as a joke then anything else but I think the science and witness accounts should still be taken seriously and examined properly with an open mind and factual data to back it up and it’s places like this that carry the responsibility of not turning the subject into a joke which I feel they have done very well at considering. Obviously there has to be some humor and fun to it or we’d all lose our $hit and freak the F out which is why the gift shop is always fun to visit also. I definitely recommend
My friends and I drove 3 hours to Roswell for the first time ever, from Albuqurque. We saw this place on Google and YouTube, and wanted to check this out first! Very kind and informative staff at the front desk, gave us some history. Price for tickets were SUPER cheap (around $5 for adults, $3 for my husband/myself for military). They have a lot of cool artwork/sculptures, and a ton of plaques and information on the walls. We enjoyed the gift shop at the end too (be prepared to buy something)!I was definitely worth the stop when visiting Roswell, I recommend it! :)
It was good fun there are many shops there is parking on south side of museum (Free) get here early starts get full around 9:30am walk up and down Street use cross walk (it talks to you) the UFO experience was cool tons of Reading and lots about movies put-out about aliens go check it out for your self, also remember there is some pretty cool collectors items inside gift shop. Rest rooms are at very back of building, $5 to enter they also take donations parking on 1st Street
This place was tons of fun! I would recommend visiting this place with no expectations. For a $5 entrance fee this place was well organized, had tons of information and cool memorabilia. The gift shop at the end has tons to offer and the prices were very reasonable. This is a cool place to check out while in Roswell to get your alien nerd on!
A real touristy spot, but inexpensive entertainment for a long drive between Carlsbad and Santa Fe. You can spend about an hour looking at the exhibits and shopping at the gift shop. Very informative about the crash site in NM as well as other UFO information from other cultures and personal accounts. Kids loved it.
Whether you believe, or not, this is a must stop museum in Roswell. While the first part of the exhibit has a ton of information about the “incident, l there is way too much text on all the displays and it takes a lot of time to read it. Given that it’s a smaller space, a lot of people are crowded around making it more difficult. If you have smaller kids, the text is way above their level, so it’s not very accessible and none of it is interactive. That being said, there are different dioramas that will interest all kids, not just the little ones. The cost is only $5.00, so it’s a relatively inexpensive visit for the whole family. Plan about 1-hour for your visit, 2-hours if you read everything. There is a small parking lot adjoining the museum, but space is limited.
$5 admission. If you have kids who do not enjoy watching you read for 2 hours, consider leaving them at the McDonalds.... This is a document and written record exhibit. Lots of reading. Lots and lots of reading. I spent two hours. Most visitors rushed through in 45 minutes. High quality displays and signage. HUGE library for research. Large gift shop. Look at the photos: there are 5 exhibits to look at - and 500 walls of words....
Fantastic experience! For a $5 admission, you cant beat the joy we had here. We were able to read through an extensive exhibit on the 1947 UFO crash, along with other exhibits on the kinds of sightings, the experiences reported by those claiming to have been abducted, and seeing various movie props and sets. A fun stop on any trip through Roswell, absolutely recommend!
Great little place to stop in Roswell! Fun exhibits, dog friendly, and inexpensive.
Informative, without pushing it on you! Very enjoyable.
Very cool place! Definitely loved reading all the history and taking pictures!Bought some little inexpensive souvenirs for the family, and they loved em.$10 for 2 tickets
Fun experience that adequately brings to light the phenomenal accounts of local testimonies coupled with alien-culture and ancient-alien speculation. I only wish the displays were less reading intensive and more multimedia. If you love alien 👽 stuff— this is the “must-see” of Roswell.
Very fun place to explore and plenty of really cool information to read and learn about American history/pop culture with Aliens 👽 highly recommend you check this place out the also have a VR tour offered after you finish exploring the museum for a little bit of money 💵
Me and my family were on our way to Ruidoso so made a Pitstop here and found it to be really cool and just right for our group consisting of 4-15 age range. Lots of photo opportunities, exhibits and art. The restrooms are located in the back consisting of 2 stalls for women. It smelled and looked clean but in an awkward corner of the museum. Theres a neat little gift shop at the end of your tour of the exhibits which looked bigger than what we thought. Its handicapp accessible. Employees were very helpful and fast checking everyone out or questions about the exhibits. I highly recommend, it took like 30-45 minutes to look at the exhibits and make our way to the gift shop.
Pretty fun little alien museum, lots of history and stories to read. For the price cant be beat if youre in the area. Just watch put for the little green men! 👽👽
Very interesting and informative museum. Definitely worth a visit.
Such a great place! The stories and videos were pretty cool! And the set up was wonderful! So many places to takeCool pictures too. Pet friendly and military discount!
Pretty good for what it is. Probably the best alien themed place we visited.
Our visit wound up being a little bit rushed because we arrived late in the day on Sunday. The museum houses a variety of exhibits. Naturally most are related to the Roswell incident in 1947 including photos, copies of documents, and recorded statements from witnesses and related persons. There is also info about the RAAF, and some of the other better documented UFO incidents. If youd like to take your time going through the exhibits, if recommend that you allow an hour and a half or so. Dont miss the gift shop. And the enthusiast will want to allow plenty of time to walk around the area and enjoy all the extraterrestrial kitsch of Main Street.
This is an amazing place, went here in 2012 and again this year. They have upgraded a LOT, added lots of videos to help condense the immense amount of information available for those who dont want to read (probably spent a good 3 hours here on the first visit reading just about everything).
Love the Museum a lot of good information, the Prods of the Aliens are unique and awsome 🥰 is a must for visit Rosewell NM
Pretty cool, lots of information on alien sitings. Cheap enough to make it worth the visit and good photo ops.
Great experience, had lots of fun walking around and getting pictures. Learned something interesting things.
Super cool spot to check out. Cheap to get in and a lot to see. If you want all kinds of debunking then dont come here because this is a fun place. (Just based on reviews Ive seen). Not an all day thing but still fun!
This is an interesting place for people who would like to know about UFO and outer space creatures to spend the whole day reading those materials! I personally like this place and learned a lot from here.
The experience. Very welcoming town, stroll on the main strip and browse for hours.Only negative was the drive from Hobbs. No passing lanes on this 2 lane strip to Roswell. You can imagine how unsafe this is.
Always a great visit! The place looks great with all the upgrades. Many attractions to keep the enthusiasts entertained for hours. Keep up the great work.
Well presented. Enjoyed the film and videos. A must do for anyone interested in the crash of 47. A few more benches would be nice for those disabled. Gift shop is excellent!
Kitschy but fun. Great price that says, please stop by. Our kids are 5-15 and so we didn’t stay more than 1 1/2 hours.
This place was amazing, it was a life long goal to go in person. I had a blast, great memories.
So cool, great place for kids and adults, staff is super friendly
Price was right, small walk through but worth it and very well put together. Highly recommend stop here
A wonderful historical walkthrough. Put on your reading glasses and prepare to educate yourself with some of the coolest facts about UFOs throughout American and world history
There really isnt much to do in Roswell. This museum and the space walk are about it. This is about 30-60 minute visit. Most of the exhibit is text. Everyone is nice. They do practice safe distancing. Its also $5 a person.
Excellent and interesting experience for the price, very reasonable, so easy 5*. Found out some interesting facts, also about the surrounding Roswell area #1947. Good gift shop too
It was so much fun!! Everyone should go and see it while on a road trip.
It was a fun stop on our road trip. The price is very reasonable.
Wanted to be impressed, but was disappointed. If you are planning on visiting, you should know that most of the Exhibits require extensive reading. They have blow ups of documents, affidavits and pictures — all of which must be read, and may not be understood by children. The exhibit artifacts aren’t very interesting. The entry price is family friendly, but in my opinion the displays are not because kids won’t be able to read them. I wouldn’t recommend the museum as a destination but if you’re in town with nothing to do, it is an interesting place to stop
Great compilation of reports and historical timeline
Nice experience but when I left, I felt like I was a bit deceived on the location, the crash site was over 62 mi away from Roswell in Corona NM, Roswell really had nothing to do with the crash site at ALL which I kind of was interested in seeing maybe walking around, but apparently they dont even allow that. Roswell is nowhere near the site, I guess its a good place to read a lot of the history. They tried to link the air base somehow to the crash site which I dont believe had anything to do with it. I do like the theory of the crash dummies and parachute or weather balloon. Good job to Roswell on promoting this!
Quick fun stop. The staff was really nice. The museum is a small self guided tour with a big gift shop at the end.
Was a cool place to visit!
Super affordable and great for getting fun family photos! They allowed us to take our pooch in on a short leash.
Worth a stop if you are in the area! The beginning of the museum starts with multiple eyewitness accounts of the Roswell UFO incident, several which contradict each other or dont really fit but I guess thats what you get with individual stories. The rest of the museum is a little random with some well made displays and others not so well made... its lacking a bit of the museum quality displays but is still interesting and admission is only $5. You are temperature screened before you enter. They should have an abduction scene for instagram...
Awesome place to stop by if you’re passing through Roswell.
This is a really cool museum. Lots to read and learn about Roswell and how so many people were impacted by events in that time. Really cool!!
Exactly the tourist stop youre looking for when visiting Roswell. Very cheap admission and lots of cool history.
Great little museum with all the interesting Roswell crash info. Price is very family friendly so good for them. Nothing fancy and we were in and out 30-45 minutes depending on how much you read. Enjoyed our visit!
Informative and fun. The video exhibit was shut down. It was $5 to get in and they let you come back all day. We came back in to use the restroom before we left town.
It was a cool museum with a bunch of exhibits about the first person reports and pictures of people involved in UFO sightings. Wish there had been more original artifacts! (Original news paper clippings, original photos, reports)
Great exhibits and very believable. But a bit crowded, esp. for Covid times. Recommend reservations, or using a counter to limit capacity. The entire family found it interesting, and both the believers and sceptics found evidence to support their arguments. A great stop if you need a break from your long road trip. Can breeze through in less than half an hour, or take your time and read the stories in each exhibit.
A very pretty park southeast of Santa Fe thats on the smaller side.. Its not centrally located, but its on a frontage road for I-25, so its convenient. But not so close that its noisy. Theres a large patio in front of the office, and seating areas around the campground. Sites are roomy and bathrooms are small but clean. We would stay here again.
It was okay. Some decent articles and exhibit ideas
Definitely on the list of local recommendations! The price was great- appreciative of the military discount they offered as well. Lots of info to read- really pleasant experience here. Our Roswell visit wouldn’t have been complete without it 👍🏻😊
Loved going in, even just to the gift shop. It was fun and eventually will come back to go through everything. The staff was a lot of fun, friendly and helpful. Great merchandise.
Loved it. We didnt have enough time to see everything in town we wanted but this place was interesting and fun.
Very hot, was unable to see everything because they dont stagger groups. It did look like the information they had was really cool, it was just way too cramped in the space and hard to enjoy.
I mean, come on! How do you do the tourist thing in Roswell and NOT go here? Inexpensive small museum that is great for long-time alien buffs and for people who have no idea what to expect or have never heard of the incident. Great displays and articles about various close encounters, as well as fun glimpses into many pop culture items like movies and shows inspired by the alien phenomenon. Good gift shop also!
Very interesting little town and muesem!
Varied information about local UFO sightings and UFO history. Definitely a cant miss if you need extraterrestrial fix.
The Museum was coolYou get to see what happens when Aliens came during the 1970
Small but very informative. Staff was friendly and was fun to see.
Super cool and fun place!
The museum itself has a TON of information. If the subject interests you, and you have time to read, there are articles and studies and personal accounts, galore. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. The gift shop is great, and there is even a research library. The reason for the 3-stars is simply because I was there with 4 children ages 4-10. They didnt love it. They displays were the highlight for them, but they were finished with those pretty quickly. They were not interested in reading much. I wouldnt suggest it with young kids. Definitely something for an older group, teems and up.
If youre into aliens, UFOs or the X-Files this is the place to go. Was here about 12 years ago and theyve really expanded in a really great way. Affordable and have knowledgeable guides. Fun for the entire family.
The museum was cool, but it was really small. It was crowded and hard to stop at all the attractions, but this is because of the size. Still a place to check out if youre in the area!
A fun place. Just enough sensible information that one could actually believe. Im not one who does but enjoyed it nonetheless.
Honestly very sweet and well maintained. Less cheesy than I thought it would be! It didnt feel like a money grab because it was so cheap and I actually learned a bit about UFO encounters which I wasnt expecting!
Bahahahahahaha, hasnt changed at all. I was there 15 years ago. A little updating and some new paint makes it whole new experience. If you dont mind bad grammar and misspelled words then this is the place. Actually, if you know what to expect, it is kinda fun.
Ive wanted to visit this place since I was a kid! It definitely didnt disappoint. There is so much knowledge, and unknown tid bits of information to soak up, it was overwhelming at first. Once you settle in its a roller coaster of proof that we arent alone. If you have any desire to form your own opinion I HIGHLY recommend you go! There isnt anything like this anywhere else 👽 The gift shop was full of amazing alien paraphernalia as expected 👍The facility was very clean and organized and they took temperatures at the door to ensure over-all health and wellness. 10 out of 10 for sure. I will be back.
Pretty interesting museum if you are into UFOs and learning more about the Roswell incident. Well worth the cheap admission for sure.
Stopped here to stretch our legs in the drive to Alamogordo. Our youngest likes some weird stuff so he enjoyed walking around the “museum”. I guess if your in Roswell might as well say you’ve done it
Very detailed information about Roswell and other UFO encounters.
Kind of predictable. Theres a lot of text, which would make for a good book but as an exhibit is kind of daunting. The evidence offered is juxtaposed with artistic renderings and creations, blurring the line between science and fiction and challenging its credibility. Still, it felt like a real life X-files episode, if youre into that (which I am!).
Loved the exhibits people was very friendly
Cool place lots of reading and big gift shop
Nice little museum to learn some UFO history. Its a must do if youre in Roswell. There is also a fun app that you can download for some virtual reality stuff in the museum. The museum is small and probably takes about an hour if you are reading everything and watching the videos, but for $5 or less a person, its worth it!
Small but full of interesting information
The front desk ladies are a charm! I would like to put less stars so they can include more alien stuff! but it was good overall! They can improve on the gift shop with more merchandise!
I enjoyed it. Wish I would have had a little more time to listen to the lecture and go through the research room. Not sure it is for little kids. There were a few when we went through and they were bored.
Only 5% cheesy, but surprisingly very informative. and actually, it sports one of the coolest gift shops on this planet (or any other, for that matter. lol) its definitely one of those places that should be on every conspiracy geeks bucket list.
It sucked!!! There was no interactive attractions my daughter was bored by having to read so much instead of there being some sort of multimedia display.I was always curious about aliens and there existence, after going through the museum I now have no interest. However, the gift shop was goodDo not waste your money on the museum!!!
This was a very fun museum with many photo opportunities. Wait around and watch the aliens with a UFO above them. It lights up and the UFO spins. It makes some fun video. To see our adventures subscribe to SIMPLE LIFE BIG ADVENTURES on YouTube.
Theres no real information about any UFO thats the problem but we enjoyed the place kind of a neat part of American folklore
Pretty cool and interesting spot. I will say though that this museum is VERY HEAVY on reading material. It almost felt like I was inside a life sized encyclopedia entry on the 1947 incident along with other UFO encounters. All museums have things to read obviously but usually theres a large display in front of you with a little blurb. This was tons of pictures with fun exhibits to accompany those and then very long placards of text. It kind of gets exhausting after a while and becomes an information overload. Well worth the $5 entry fee but just something to be aware of.
If you are in the vicinity of Roswell, then of course, you have to stop in. An inexpensive way (unless you hit up the gift shop) to spend a couple of hours looking at all of the displays. For UFO believers and non-believers, there is something for everyone. For believers there are hundreds of exhibits and personal stories that you could probably relate to. For non-believers, well, a lot of the stuff is pretty humorous, which we all could use a good chuckle now and then.
Really fun place to visit. Its only $5 sand takes about an hour.
It really is a great place to visit, so cute. My favorite part was the gift shop. This young lady Im sure her name started with an M she was so nice and helpful. Too bad I cant say the same about the rest of staff, but besides that it was such a great experience.
The good: As with most things Roswell, the alien recreations were the highlight. The so so: The museum was interesting but fairly un-exciting in the way the information is presented. The bad: Why is there star-wars stuff here???!!!???We stopped by to get a look at the evidence related to the Roswell event. Mostly a walk through at your own pace, read until youve read enough thing. Lots of affidavits, anecdotes and news articles. The TV stage (aliens and their flying saucer) was cool.Half of the museum was about things other than Roswell including unrelated movies and tv shows. Hmmm... Thats NOT what I came to see.All in all, it reflects Roswell pretty well - sort of odd, sort of tired, sort of old hat. Worth an hour or two tops.
Very reasonably priced. Fun theme. Some of the content is Roswell specific while the rest is generic to ufos and aliens. It was fun to go to and everyone at all ages enjoyed it.
