I went about a week or so ago and had the pics on my phone transferred to a thumb drive. I think his name was Steve or Shawn did a great job of selling me what I needed to do it myself without going over board. I had no problems buying what he said I needed, a wire and thumb drive. Came to around $20. Once I paid, he offered to go ahead and do the transfer for me at no charge. In my mind I thought this was perfect. No upselling while still getting the customer and the store what they needed. I appreciate his help and honesty. Once again, I think he did a fantastic job. Well I Go Again, absolutely. Thank you

Matt and Josh were amazing today! I brought my grandson in with his computer because he had questions about graphics cards. They took their time and answered all of his questions, even opened up his system and cleaned it out and assisted him in understanding exactly what he had installed. They explained why the graphics cards were so high priced at the time. Which is a rare commodity in sales at this time and age. Their patience and kindness was greatly appreciated!

This was maybe my third visit to this store. I walked in with my computer to be looked at, but ready to purchase another one if I had to. While Rico undertook the task like a personal challenge to figure out my technology issue, the little guy (for lack of a better term & only because I can not remember his name) literally educated me on what the different parts of a computer do and how to recognize what is essential & most beneficial for me operationally & financially. I realize I was ignorant to the technology but he never made me feel stupid, actually I left smarter! I was blessed to get my computer fixed within minutes (at no charge), but I will definitely be purchasing my next computer from Discount Electronics, Round Rock Location.I have never been so impressed with customer service. Other customers were in & out in a flash. They knew one by name and you could tell he was happy to do business there. The tech guy was helping another customer when I arrived (a talker like me) and he was so patient with him. He was also eager to help when Rico asked for assistance with my machine. I can tell these guys are good people through their kindness, patience, & willingness to serve.May God bless you for your character, boys. I was looking for a refurbished Laptop that will be used only for CNC work at our store. I gave them a list of features that I needed and they came up with a good solution and then even discounted it further from the listed price. Very polite sale associate and helpful as well. Good place.

These guys are fantastic. My daughter accidentally pulled off one of the keyboard keys and I had to take it to the store with limited heads up.They determined the key to be damaged and replaced in less than 10 minutes and did this for FREE. They wouldn’t take a dime for it.They gave absolutely earned my business in the future. I strongly recommend the place - they sell a lot of refurbished items.

Il went in earlier today with my dell laptop. It was making this loud screaching unbearable noise. ISam and his associate upon hearing the noise both said jit was a weird occurence and never heard such before. I advised him that I had called a previous day and one of their associates had never heard such a noise but sais it sounded like feedback. Sam then accessesd the computer able was able to determine what was causing the noise and eliminated it immediately. What was even more awesome was that he did not charge me. I highly recommend them!

I honestly cannot say enough good things about this place. Thank you so much to Richard, Sam, and the rest of the guys! Went in after a bad experience with another repair shop (TSI in Leander). I did not have high hopes of restoring data from old PC plus finding a new affordable one to get back to work after the two weeks my computer had been out at the other place. Ive bought two laptops from these folks in the past year. One has worked perfectly well the whole time, the 2nd developed a power issue, a short in the motherboard, (very common problem). Discount E. gave me no trouble at all, took the computer and had it fixed in just a couple of days. I strongly recommending buying used equipment from them, their 1 year warranty is solid.

The name discount electronics is very misleading because I was looking for a tablet for my kids as a gift and everything I saw on the first page that popped up was between one and $2000 that is no discount. You should be ashamed of yourself for using your name like that which is the Exact same thing as telling a lie

I would have rated higher, but after calling to ask if they had a compatible power supply for my desktop and being told yes they do; for about 68$ - after providing make and model of my desktop, I was given a standard ATX power supply when this PC uses a proprietary system... quite disappointing but thankfully Im smart enough to make it work with some expert rigging since there is NO refunds; even if it is their mistake - store credit only... I got what I needed, but not what I had asked for but at least theyre monitoring people entering the business with a thermal scan!

The technician Don is very skilled and fast at work. Recently one of our small kitchen appliances lost a fuse. Don was successfully able to replace the fuse on the PCB board just within 20mins. We are happy with the service and will highly recommend this place.

I took my laptop in yesterday to get the battery replaced. The young lady behind the counter replaced it super fast and no charge! I went in today to upgrade from windows 8 to windows 10. The gentleman who helped me was very friendly and informative. I highly recommend going here for your computer questions or issues, they are easy to talk to and wont make you feel dumb for not knowing much about computers!!

My service provider was Richard and he was most patient, and more than willing to ensure I had a good purchase and when I returned to the store the same day with purchase not working properly due to needed dowloads and updates he worked untiringly until the end of his shift and asked a couple worker to please help me if there was any other things I needed. I have used this store three times. I purchased a desktop, a monitor stand, and a laptop.I have had to do an outright return (didnt like the style of the monitor stand), and I had to take the laptop back for a Bios update (after they upgraded my hard-drive for pennies). In each scenario they were pretty much awesome! Love this store!

Several months ago, my laptop was acting up. A friend recommended that I take it to Discount Electronics in Round Rock. That was the best advice I have taken in a long time. These guys are the best customer service that one could ask for. The laptop battery was replaced and I was up and running at a very reasonable cost.Last week the laptop started acting up again so as a repeat customer, I took it to Discount Electronics. Richard took a look and after a short while corrected a software issue (I think had something to do with a virus) and my laptop is up and running! When I asked how much, he answered one million dollars. When I said that I didn’t have a million dollars, he said for me to give a good Google Review and we would be square! So, I am more than happy to take this moment to highly recommend Discount Electronics in Round Rock to all who read this.For sure if or when something acts up with my laptop, they will be my first go to. All of the sales staff are awesome … meaning friendly and they know their stuff!

I was very impressed with the level of knowledge and great customer service! I went in expecting to have to comparison shop and ask several questions before narrowing down what I wanted to purchase. I told Bradlee what I was looking for and how I would be using the laptop. He immediately came out with exactly what I wanted. He answered my questions completely and with confidence. I had an issue (100% my router, not the laptop) that I went back for a few days later. Bradlee went above and beyond to help me realize that the problem was my router at home. He bsd me around and 4 months later, hadnt done the transfer. $99 PCs in Round Rock put it back together for FREE!! Tested it -Free! It was still a useable laptop I could just connect to a monitor. I nearly threw it away! The PC guys saved me a few hundred dollars with their help.

Strange, they took my temperature and asked if I had been tested for covid-19, kinda personal and creepy. I have never, except at the doctor, had my temperature taken to enter a store. They said it was store policy. I love de, but I guess Ill stick to buying my pc parts on ebay.

After our toddler was left alone with my laptop for less than a minute, he managed to rip off half of the keys on my Alienware laptop. These keys are kind of complicated (at least to me) and had multiple piece to each key. Took it in to DE and took them less than 20 seconds to say you need a new keyboard. okay, thats fine. How much is that gonna cost? $40 for the part and $50 for labor, plus tax. About $100, $110 max. Alright sounds good. I stepped outside with our child while my husband stayed and worked out the details. He said he paid for half of it and well pay the rest when picking it up.So a couple weeks goes by, I go to pick it up. There are two guys at the counter, and I didnt catch their names. One of them was helping another customer in there. I waited patiently off to the side, because maybe one of them is training, i dont know. But took him a couple minutes, this red/curly haired boy. I can already tell im a burden on him by his tone and body language.So I tell him i need to pick up my laptop. He brings it out and tells me its going to be $90 or something. So I tell him, my husband already paid for half. at this point it is both employees talking to be, and the other guy with darker hair, is telling me that im paying for labor, or a part, or something, anything. Then the red haired boy chimes in and says ITS A DIAGNOSTIC FEE. THE FIRST HALF WAS A DIAGNOSTIC FEE So I asked him, you need $50 to tell me that my laptop is broken? he says its a fee that we put on every item submitted for repairs And I told him that the person we talked to before made no mention of a diagnostic fee and he just kind of shrugged like NOT MY PROBLEM.Anyways, im calling my husband now at this point like cAN You tell me what he said, thinking if I told them A MAN said it, maybe they would listen. Nope. Stubburn little red hair boy, must always be right. So I paid for it, go out to my car, tell my husband to send me a picture of his receipt. So I look, the item on my husbands receipt said Alienware special part order laptop keyboard and the items on my receipt were Alienware special order part laptop keyboard and LaborSo I go back inside, with my phone and my new receipt, showed him my husbands receipt and asked Is that not the same thing you just charged me for? He starts hollering in the back, I cant really hear their conversation. He comes back and says looks like they waived the diagnostic fee but didnt make a note in here. And Im just thinking...I cant stand it when someone wants to talk more than they listen. So he refunds me and I asked him card it was going to, and he said whatever card you JUST USED to PAY FOR IT Again, Im thinking i dont need him to refund the amount to my husbands card, which he used to pay for the first half, the part itself, but dude wants to be a cocky jerk and I was very dissatisfied about the whole experience. While there I checked the keyboard very quickly. Logged in to my computer just to see if it worked, and left. I am just getting back on the computer, about 2 weeks later. And I notice the X is hanging off. Very disappointed about this.I wasnt going to write a review until about 9 am today. I am not a morning person. Anyways, I call up to their location to ask about any warranties they might have, but when I picked up the phone, I had a brain fart. So I started saying hi, uh, hold on, uh, and when I started talking he says I CANT HEAR YOU, ALL I HEAR IS UH HI UH HI UH I also have very bad service, so for a second, I said oh sorry, i dont have any service. And I just hung up. Decided Ill call another location since apparently everyone there are not very friendly.I just got off the phone with a girl at the Anderson location, and she made me feel comfortable and said I could come in there for work, and she apologized on behalf of those guys at the round rock location.In conclusion, try another location before you go to the round rock one. They get it done, but have no problem making you feel stupid.

Went do discount electronics to see if they can help adapt my battery to a light that is important to work, and had a good experience with everyone that works there.At entering, I was greeted and was helped immediately. Don their electric technician helped me out and was able to adapt my new battery to my light. He took his time to try and figure out my issue and then successfully used a used part to solder to my battery.Everyone was professional, approachable, and helpful the entire time and I will absolutely return for any computer or electronic needs.Highly recommend!

I had a great experience here and recommend them to anyone shopping for a computer. I know nothing about computers, what the different numbers and specifications mean and what features, software and operating system I need or don’t need. My wife and I came in to ask some questions and get some advice and I am so glad that we did. Derek assisted us and was able to answer every question we had. He gave us expert advice and schooled us so that we were able to make an informed decision. We ended up saving a lot of money by not paying for upgrades that we didn’t necessarily need for our intended use of the computer. We got a great machine for about half the price of what the same thing would cost online. I was initially skeptical about purchasing a refurbished computer but I feel confident knowing that it is guaranteed to function as new and backed by a one year warranty. I will gladly give them my business again.

Richard took excellent care of me, I was looking for a small foot print computer and with Windows 7 Pro on it he assisted in finding the one I wanted and understood that I wanted one that looked good as well as operational. These guys are always helpful and knowledgeable. We have purchased about 10 or more computers in the past 5 or so years for different work applications. These have been great work horses for behind the scene applications. Love looking around for Christmas and Birthday ideas. We will be back again soon!

A great establishment, I came in with my basic little laptop, because I had been having an issue with it maintaining a charge.In less than five minutes these guys had the problem pegged. Both Richard and the young guy, whos name I neglected to ask... Sorry, My Friend... 😬, but he was still tremendously Helpful and Patient... with any and all of my questions...Of which I can... sometimes ask more than enough of... trust me... The prices are great here and so is the selection, so its easy to get pulled into the store. However, I have bought 3 laptops in the last 3 months from these guys, and none of the three is in good working order. This morning, two did not boot at all. The warranty was not honored, which was most disappointing of all. On one of the non-booting machines, the guy said that swapping out the hard drive for a larger capacity one (also, one without the rootkit that seems to come standard at Discount Electronics) voided the whole warranty, because who knows what else you did. For the other, bought less than 24 hours before I came back in today, the warranty was not honored because, well, if it just doesnt boot theres nothing we can do. Then, didnt want to let me apply the cost toward another machine, because, well, he just didnt. And, it was running Windows 7 also... the OS, however, is not the upgrade; the hardware is. From now on, my upgrade will be to another store.

This place is amazing.I was having a few problems with my PC - I built it myself and it wasnt working so I took it in to have them look at it. The price they offered to look at it/check it out/fix whatever was wrong was very modest and very cheap - easily half that than any of the other places that I was quoted.The staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable. Derek was the one who helped me but all three of them working there were fantastic. I called in to see if they had any old computer parts that they couldnt use anymore that I could scavenge for my super agent themed classroom and he was happy to oblige.I was also impressed how they double-checked the items to make sure there werent any hard drives or anything that could potentially compromise other customers personal information.I will definitely come here for my computer needs in the future!

Friendly and reliable service with a straightforward attitude. These guys ran diagnostics on my laptop and had an answer for me within 3 hours. They charge a flat fee of 50 bucks to do this and if repairs are needed it will go towards the repair. If not though give you a $25 credit in the store to spend on anything that you might want or need. That is more than fair. It was the 2nd time I took my laptop there with the same results and great service! A rare commodity today and I fully recommend them over the big banner stores. Support your small businesses! I wish we had a shop like this in CA! I flew in to Austin for business for a week. Once I got to my hotel room I realized that Id packed my laptop but not the power supply. I found Discount Electronics online & payed them a visit the next day.First off, you cant miss the building! Bright colors really stood out from all of the road construction. Even though both guys were busy with other customers I was greeted as soon as I walked through the door.Rico asked me what I was looking for and knew exactly where to find it, down to the right bin. I went out to get my laptop, just to be sure it fit. Rico even plugged it in to be sure it worked. I almost forgot to mention that it was half the price that Best Buy wanted for it.Both guys were very engaging and helpful. When I told Rico I was from CA, he welcomed me to Texas! I half expected to be treated like the redheaded stepchild (no offense anyone) but he made me feel welcome.I will definitely tell my cousin, who lives nearby about this shop. 5 stars for sure!

My experience at this Discount Electronics was way beyond exceptional. I was enthusiastically greeted when I walked in the door. Steel was so helpful and he continued to have the most pleasant personality. I have to say that I havent experienced this kind of customer service in a very long time. I dont like to go shopping much because of the inferior customer service, but I will definitely shop this Discount Electronics again. Every item I have bought from Discount Electronics has been a great buy.Steel has a 5 star and above rating from me.

I walked in knowing what i needed we got close the first time I left and thought about it them came back and got exactly what I wanted. For a good price. I didnt get get the employees name but he was the thin guy with facial hair under the mask. Overall it was a good experience

I received very quick service. The tech checked my computer and did not charge me. I thought I was going to need a solid state drive, but found my laptop already had one.

He made us feel important and comfortable.Suggestions include better lighting in parking lot, hire a finishing contractor to clean up those baseboards, installation of public restroom and acknowledge walkins waiting for personal service.Saw a couple of prospects waiting for service as we were cashing out. Rico was perfectly putting the icing on the cake, securing our return for future business. You cant rush perfection, people! And you cant ignore clients either! Everyone must be greeted within 1 minute; p

This place is small but Im not giving this negative review due to the size, the reason Im writing this poor review the staff customer service was poor, me and my wife was followed all around by one of the employees then he had the common courtesy to act nice by ask us what state is your car plate from, so I kindly told him what state the plate is from and thats when he turned his back and walked away and repeat the plate number. If you going to be in the business of customer service you cannot treat every customer like a thief.

Derek and Richard were so helpful, even at the last minute when I arrived with my little grandson last week. I needed to purchase a replacement cable and I walked in only a few minutes before they closed. Thank you both for your patience and great customer service.
