Craig Johnson Automotive has been my auto repair shop for over 20 years for all of my familys vehicles - too many to count!! I just dropped one off last night for repair and decided to write a review; one of many I should have done a long time ago. Since I rarely write reviews, I decided to first read the many reviews on this site and could not believe that anyone would give him less than a 5 star rating! Craig has always gone out of his way to help my family and me and has always been the most honest auto repair person I know. Examples: One morning, many years ago, while taking my small children to school, my car would not start. I was frantic and called Craig, asking what to do and how to get my car to his shop. Without hesitation, Craig personally came to my house, picked up the kids and me, took them to school and took me to his shop, all the while making arrangements to have my car towed to his shop for repair. Another time, my car just died on a freeway off ramp. I called Craig and there he was again, picking me up and taking care of all the arrangements to get my car to the shop. These were different cars, at different times. Both problems were related to the computer in the car system and Craig helped me get the dealer to honor the defect to fix the problem. Craig did not make a dime off of me for any repairs yet has continued to provide great service when needed. He has advised us of vehicle recalls, how to save money, and how to make sure our cars are always in good running order. He has never recommended something we did not need, overcharged for parts or labor, or made me feel like I dont know anything about my vehicles. Coming in for an early drop off, staying for a late pickup, taking customers home...what more could you ask for in a great service provider?!! For the very few reviews that complained...If you find it cheaper elsewhere, then go there instead. But, the quality of the work that comes out of Craig Johnson Automotive is the best and cheap quality comes with a cheap price! Im not blind and have done my due diligence comparing costs and Craig is not overpriced for anything he has done for us or anyone I have referred. The 2 complaints posted sounded to me like people that wanted something for nothing. Craig must have been doing something right for one of them to have gone to him for so long. As always, I had a great experience at Craig Johnson Automotive. I tend to keep my cars a long time. I had a Ford Escort with over 200,000 miles on it. I also have a Mustang that is 25 years old. Craig has always kept my cars in tip top shape. Craig has been my one and only mechanic for almost forty years. He stands behind his work, and is very good at communicating what needs to be done, could be done, and can be deferred as far as repairs go.

Craig Johnson has serviced our Dodge Ram truck, Toyota Scion, Smart Car, and classic Mustang for the last 13 years. The mechanics are excellent, all are friendly, and special parts have been installed. Prices are fair and if some part does not need repair, we were told not to order.

He takes the time to explain what is wrong and what needs to be done and how and what kind/make/brand of parts hes going to use. His estimates are true estimates. Craig and his team take pride in what they do and it certainly shows in their work. I have over 200,000 miles on my car and with Craig and his team doing all my car service and repairs on it, I will probably get another 200,000+ miles on my car!

I had the most horrific experience with Craig Johnson Automotive. I took my car in to get the Air Conditioning fixed. He misrepresented himself from the very beginning. First he told me he would install nothing but NEW Factory Ford Parts. I found out that he bought my compressor from 1-800 radiator, not Ford as he represented he would do. He could not even tell me where he bought the condenser, but when I call Ford they told me they do not make the condenser for that car any more. Craig Johnson told me ALL the parts were coming from Ford and he would not do it any other way.Since I was out of town when he got the repair done my daughter went into his shop to pick-up the car. She called when she got home to tell me that the Air Conditioning was not cool at all. I returned home a few days later and the AC ran cold for about 10 minutes before it went completely warm. Not too happy after paying almost $1,200.00 to get a NEW system. I took it back into his shop and he told me the oil had come out of the system. He showed me the oil all over the inside of my car. Later on he told my wife that the compressor was running all the time. Remember, this is with the oil all over the inside of my car. He had apparently left some debris inside the system before putting it together. I went to get something out of my car the next day and found out my car was not even at his shop! He could not figure it out so he took it to a shop down the road to get them to figure it out.Dishonest, untrustworthy, expensive, and incompetent. Dont go to Craig Johnson Automotive unless you want to get ripped off by crappy workmanship and poor customer service.

Today my Fiancee and I had a horrible experience with their inflated invoice price. My Fiancee and I checked with Repair Pal and it showed this mechanic shop charges $ 295.00 over the standard average. We have learned this shop has a history of over charging and if you dare to question your bill the mechanic Craig Johnson becomes upsets and lashes out. We brought in the proof of the overcharged amount from Repair pal and Craig Johnson the owner of the shop became upset and stated it was an insult. In addition, out of spite he did not replace the old timing belt with the new belt. It comes in a full kit.Why? Why do this? He has placed her life in danger whereby the old belt is about to fail. Who dosuch a thing? Its uncalled for and unnecessary he should be ashamed of his actions. It despicable to say the least. My Fiancee is hurt by his dangerous actions. My Fiancee paid for a complete repair of the water pump. It left my Fiancee and I in disbelief. She has been a long time customer for over 20 years. Craig Johnson the owner/ mechanic wanted an apology for even mentioning the high prices. This shop needs to recognize it is everyones right to question a high bill. I hope the shop will extend an apology for their negative uncalled for behavior. They certainly need to learn appropriate customer service. I hope they will apologize to my Fiancee and I. As an update the shop did not complete the whole work of the water pump replacement. Out of spite and its written in their invoice they left the old belt on. We will never go to this shop ever again.

He could smell the strong pungent odor behind the driver’s seat. As I lifted up the rear rubber floor mat Tonys eagle eye spotted something and said: hey, whats that? I looked where Tony pointed and say a decomposing red potato. It had fallen out of my grocery bag days before and began to dehydrate. This experience is yet another positive one as a longtime customer with Craig Johnson Automotive !!!

I am not one to really do reviews. However I was referred to Craig by my boy friend. Glad I listened and came here for my oil change on my Prius. Very knowledgeable and honest about what my car needed and sent me photos. Which was a plus especially since I didn’t ask for them. It’s a rare thing to find someone in this profession who is fair with price, honest and good quality. Will be coming to him from now on. *Update* I have now been taking my Prius to Craig for probably over two years now. I went in this last time for a simple oil change and filters for the cabin and engine. With the fires happening I was pretty sure I was due. Well turns out I had a lot more going on with my car than thought. I got word from Tracy his new receptionist who is very nice by the way. She informed me my battery was basically bad and my filter for the Prius battery was dirty and needed to be cleaned. Well I know Craig never steers me wrong with what he recommends for my car and had him do what needed to be done. All I can say is that she turns on and off way better and drives a heck of a lot better. I have now owned my Prius for 7 years and with all the miles I have put on her I am lucky I just started having these maintenance needs. I will keep taking my car to Craig until he decides to throw in the towel. Thank you again for looking out for me and my Car.
