Had a great experience with excellent results. Alex, at Royal Oak location, did a very thorough fitting for my irons. Went through countless combinations of heads and shafts till we dialed in the right combo. I wanted to wait to post my review until the end of the summer with some rounds under my belt. I picked up a club in distance, now hitting my 8-iron instead of 7-iron etc. Alex was patient and professional. He listened and addressed my questions and concerns. I was so impressed with the results, I went back for a driver fitting. It was very cool to watch Alex dial in the driver with every shaft/head change. The result -- KABOOOOOM! Im hitting the new driver to areas of the fairway I havent been to in years. As some others have mentioned, they do take a long time from order-to-delivery. And the high-end shafts and custom build can add up price wise, but its all worth it. Thanks Alex for a great experience and getting the right fit. Ill be heading back in winter to get a new hybrid

UPDATE: Unfortunately clubs took 2 months to arrive and after @ 10 rounds 2 club heads are loose and others look suspect. Not sure if it’s a defect in the epoxy or club maker error.I am a 8.4 index looking to hit greens more consistently. Jagger in the Detroit/Royal Oak store did a great job explaining everything and methodically took me through potential new shafts for my current irons and then other heads on the shaft that was best for my game. I left feeling I understood the process and that when my new irons arrive I will be playing more consistent golf with my swing.

Jagger did a very thorough fitting with me. On the first day, he recognized that I was out of gas and had me come back for a second day for a final QA/QC on the irons and the driver. During the process, he patiently used the tracking data and my input to make his recommendations. Overall, I got a lot more out of the fitting than I imagined I would and now that I have the clubs, I am even happier with the fitting process.

The club fitting went fine about a year ago. However, I have been trying to contact the Royal Oak location for 3 months to order an additional club from my fitting (and get the fitting data) but the phone line only routes to the corporate Club Champion line. Im told every time that the Royal Oak location will call me. Never happens. I have complained on their social media page, but my comments are simply just deleted rather than answered.

Iron fitting went well. I feel as if fitting sessions went better elsewhere (ie carls). They dont really tell you much about the Trackman numbers unless you ask or notice when you are hitting shots. Good customizing of clubs on the go. Pricing is terrible compared to ordering online. Total upcharge through them vs ordering myself was about 75% over for an iron set ( I ordered everything for 1200, and they quoted 2100). Good experience but will go elsewhere in the future.

I had a club fitting on March 12th, with Alex. I had a great experience, I’m still on cloud 9. I didn’t strike the ball has well as I usually do but stil think I came away with the best setup for me, and the cost was actually cheaper than I thought it was going to be. Cant wait for the to come in. My only complaint is that I have a couple questions that I’m not getting answered but I still had a great time and would definitely recommend club champion, thanks AlexEdit: going on 7 weeks and no updates, sweet. I know you can’t control deliveries but you can updates.

The club fitters are wonderful. Especially Jackson in the Grand Rapids store. However, everything after that is horrible. You spend a lot of money and if you are lucky, may get your order as soon as 6 weeks later (due to Covid). Ordered one club and one shaft and still not available after 4 weeks. Good luck talking to someone in the main office (where you are routed to). Left 2 messages to see where my order was and never heard back from them. Sent an email via their send them a message. Never heard from them. You have no way of tracking your order.Update:I finally was able to speak to the general manager. He was kind and helpful. I would have given them 4 or 5 stars but I wanted to see if communication with main office improves first.

Had a driver fitting with Ryan, great experience. We spent time trying multiple shaft/head combinations untill we found right match. Alex was great. I went for a putter fitting and I learned so much. Glad to say the numbers proved I did not need another putter. I wanted a Scotty Cameron but found, based on the numbers, it would not be the best option for me. I used the Bertinelli made specifically for Club Champion and my numbers were off the chart!! I then used a Bertinelli with the BGT stability shaft and LORD HAVE MERCY!! Totally different feel and performance. I upgraded my shaft and changed the grip. Alex adjusted the lie and loft on my putter. So now my off the rack Cleveland TFI is really customized to me. Best thing it was cheaper than the Scotty Cameron. For those of you who said they only push the premium stuff, that is totally bogus. I never felt pressured, I made a decision based on the numbers, it was based on performance. Alex kept saying DUDE you dont need a new putter, I would not recommend it. Him doing that was very refreshing. Thanks Alex and Club Champion. Cant wait to get back and get fit for Irons.

I had an appointment with Adam Monday night. He spent a lot of time answering my questions and help further my understand of golf equipment. There is so much for me to learn. I am an 8 handicap, but not a technical golfer. I came in to possibly buy a new driver and putter. Adam provided me with a lot of different options of new equipment. There wasn’t anything I consistently hit further or straighter his recommendation was to keep my current driver, 2018 Callaway Epic. I was honestly was surprised. I have heard they just try to up sell you and make sure you leave with clubs. Not only did I get an education but I got the highest level of service that I can remember. He adjusted my irons and putter but didn’t force me into new clubs. He just tweaked what i had, meaning he just wanted to improve my game without Only thinking about his commission. Monday wasn’t the day for me to buy a club but I can tell you that club champion and Adam got a customer for life!

Im a high HC golfer, recently Ive been putting a lot of work into trying to improve my iron swings and it has heavily affected my driver performance. This was apparent at my fitting - I couldnt hit my driver to save my life. Adam, my fitter, let me know I could come back once I work the kinks out to continue my fitting on the driver portion. Ended up purchasing new irons and a new hybrid to add to my bag - look forward to going back

I am very happy with the club fitting itself. I did a full bag fitting. Really have no complaints about it at all. However, the build, for my set, was very bad. I had a couple minor problems at first that they fixed right away. Then my 5 iron head fell off. I have never had that happen to any club before and I used to build my own. They fixed it, but it is an hour drive one way, so a little annoying. A few weeks later, I noticed 3 more irons with the heads coming off. Went to the store to drop them off, sign said will be back in 15 minutes. I waited over an hour before I left. Had to take the clubs to a different place to have the heads fixed. Im down to my wedges and 2 irons that havent needed fixing yet.

Man, what an experience that was. Adam is unbelievably talented and knowledgeable in his craft. Throughout the entire fitting, we kept getting closer and closer to optimal, until we found the perfect match. I went in for a driver fitting only, I gave Adam my goals a head of time, what I was looking to achieve, etc. I left the place with the new driver on order that exceeding all of those goals we had made. I couldnt be happier. I have found my fitter and club retailer, from here on out. Thanks again, Adam!

I had my iron fitting with Alex and let me tell you, he immediately knew what was going on. First he tried Ping 710s with a few different shafts and eventually hooked me up with a set of TaylorMade Sim Max OS 5-PW,AW with KBS Tour V shafts. Increased my 6 iron distance by 30 yards compared to my 20-year-old King Cobra’s. Also, he knew exactly what I could fix with my swing. Definitely going back for future club fittings!**Update** Ordered 2 TaylorMade MG2 wedges and one more MG2 Hi-Toe Raw in 52, 56, and 60 respectively with the assistance of Alex. Was able to apply the same specs as my irons to my wedges. Can’t wait to add some serious spin to my short game!

Do not go to this place, went there for a fitting and all they did is have me hit a couple 7 irons then sold me a bag of cobras. No measurements no other clubs where hit. How can they fit you for a bag of clubs off just seeing you swing a 7-iron? Maybe Im just missing something. Not how I thought a club fitting would go.

Words can’t describe the amazing experience this was. Nick was extremely knowledgeable and diligent in making sure when I left I purchased the exact clubs, shafts and grips that would leave my golf game only needing practice and time. When they say they are not married to any brands they mean it. I must of tried 7 different brands and when I thought that was going to be it, he started switching out shafts. Excited to get out there with my new irons but already can’t wait to go back for a driver fitting. I won’t go anywhere els and to anyone I come across or that reads this, I highly recommend you get fitted here and ask for Nick. It will be the smartest golf purchase you ever make.

What a difference a year makes... left my club to be reshafted 4 months ago. Brand new gap wedge. 26 calls later not a hint of status or a returned call. They tried, but in the end, this was a mess :(My son did a fitting, got his irons re-shafted, grips. We drove 3 hours round trip from Canada to do this. When they came back, I unboxed at the store and glad, the 9 iron was an inch too long - you could clearly see this. That was fixed, so no issue at that point. Then, however, heads started flying off. I had to make two trips back to get the 4 and 8 iron heads put back on. Once I drove all the way down and they did it in house and then when they came off again I had to drive down to drop them off to be sent away again. Those were finally done right, but then.. The pitching wedge. I had to ship them all back to get them done the way they should have been done the first time. Other issues: they scored too far up the shaft, above the ferrule and they were starting to rust. The 3W extension they put in broke loose (They did resolve this also). At one point, they started to ignore my emails about promised compensation and it took a bad review on their site to prompt a call. They refunded the fitting which was a good start, but $175 of $1200? This took nearly two months to resolve. All those trips, crossing the border. They talked about another 10% which still wouldnt have been enough to make this whole thing worth it, but even that didnt come and once again my emails are being ignored. They were nice people, they genuinely worked to get it resolved for us but in the end, this was a huge hassle that I spent a lot of time and money on. A relevant refund would have certainly helped. Way too much money to go through all of this...In the positive, my sons clubs seems good now and things have improved for him - but what a journey.

I was totally surprised that I had the wrong irons, im 65 and had 1.5 longer and 2 degree upright. Now Ill have an inch longer and normal upright. Instead of shots all over the place we dialed in the head and shaft. My distance was 15 yards farther and in a tight circle. We looked at putting too and the only benefit would be a new grip. Totally recommend Club Champion, The only draw back was the 1.5 hour drive.

Now that is how to get fitted for clubs! I went in April, Rick Lane worked with me on a long bag fitting (2-2½ hours). My old driver (Ping i25 off the self) distance average 233 yards, 250 with solid strike. New driver (Callaway, Epic flash sub zero with Paderson kinetix launch shaft, D3 swing weight) average 261 yards, 290 solid strike (used Garmin G8 for distance measurements). Now; I struggled early on this season (hook), but after working on it at the range for a month, its extremely reliable. I KNOW where that balls going when I hit it. I also ended up getting a hybrid (Ping G410 19° set to 18°) after Rick found a gap in my distances. I needed a club between my 3w & 3i. I had 2 hybrid clubs (ping i25 17° & 22°) but the 17° was close to my 3w distance & the 22° matched my 3i distance. After getting fitted with the correct shaft in the 19° g410, Im more accurate with that hybrid than Ive ever been with any other hybrid. I never really paid attention that I wasnt gapped correctly with my distances at the low end of my clubs. Its made a big difference in my scores. The attention to detail while being fitted was second to none. Rick explain the numbers on a launch monitor, and it helped me understand what each change was doing. When the time for new irons arrives I am getting fitted here! Thanks Rick!
