Ray is a class act! A True professional who is serious and courteous. Ray has always been a friend from day one. The range is well kept. Great place to keep your skills up.

Over priced, poorly stocked. 2 people 2 lanes 30.minutes. 2 guns rental and 2 boxes of range ammunition $190 dollars. I shoot at other ranges for 1/3 the cost. This used to be a good spot years ago.

I purchased my first gun May, 2021. Mr. VAL assisted me and my friend on various firearms. He had other customers coming in, nevertheless he answered every question I had. Mr. VAL even gave me many pointers on safety measures on the gun that I purchase. He assisted my friend, he let us hold various guns and shot guns. I even called him on occasions he still takes time to answer my questions. Im going to class there and practice at the range. Just have a little patience because I see they stay busy and they will assist you very well. Mr.VAL I love T-REX on You Tube and many others thank you for telling me to check out You Tube.

I dont understand the bad reviews, This place is fantastic. Super friendly staff, clean building, good selection of differnt items, good ventilation in the range. So what it comes down to it, go for yourself and check it out. If you have a bad experience and find that happening to you a lot at other places, might want to stop and think about what the common denominator is. This range is worth the trip if youre in the area.

My view has changed slightly on this business. In the past I wouldve paid more somewhere else than give this place any amount of my money. My last visit was rather pleasant and the customer service has improved greatly. However it was only 1 visit so we shall see.

I am pretty surprised to hear of others’ bad experience here. Mine was the exact opposite. I came in and was greeted right away. I hadn’t intended on walking out with a firearm, but the associate was extremely knowledgeable and PATIENT with me, as gun ownership is relatively new to me. I told him what I wanted and he educated me, and ended up selling me the lesser expensive of the two I wanted. He obviously could have encouraged the Ruger which was $300 more. I never once felt rushed, and then had a side chat with another associate who I thought was going to cash me out but he just ended up being someone who took the time to make me feel comfortable. The actual person who cashed me out was the owner, who was very kind and personable as well. Needless to say, I am glad I decided to just walk in and not depend on these reviews to help me decide whether I should give them my business or not. I will be back to use their range and certainly consider them for future purchases.

It wasn’t too crowded and the clerk really went the extra mile in educating me about a firearm I was interested in. I just really appreciate that and the friendliness.

I bought my first handgun here a few months ago when I turned 21. The staff was friendly and did not try to intimidate me or make me feel like I did not know what I was talking about. The pricing was fair and they did a good job following mandated covid safety measures. I have been to their range in the past and it was clean and safe. I would recommend this establishment to my close friends and family.

Staff was very helpful, attentive, and went above my expectations considering I came in during the last 15 minutes on a Saturday. They helped me get the exact pistol I wanted and even made sure it fit inside the safe I was buying with it. Thank you guys!

I purchased a suppressor through Silencer Shop and had it shipped here for the transfer/paperwork since they are classified as a Powered Elite dealer (i.e. they have a kiosk) and are nearby. Little did I realize these guys charge $150 more for every suppressor just because. Had I known that I would have had my transfer arranged elsewhere.Furthermore a staff member was very terse when I went in for fingerprints at the kiosk. To echo the points of others, bad attitude.I now know why this place has a bad rating - steep upcharges on all items and rude customer service. I wont conduct any further business here. There are so many better ranges and shops in the area.

My brother was look to buy his first handgun. The selection was great!!!! The reason the selection was great is because they are price gouging. An average of $250 above the manufacturers suggested retail price. Won’t be going back.

Yeah i had to come see myself, so range price is fantastic under 20 for 2 ppl 30 mins, besides that its pretty ruff, i kno its a pandemic and supply and demand etc but they chargin 4500 for guns thats under 3k all day most other places, the pistols are about 250 above appropriate/msrp no ammo for the range and u cant use your ammo in their guns so basically they dont have guns to rent, they do have .22 and 10mm for the range and if u buy one of those guns they taxin you for they got ammo to sell u then and they taxin for that too, staff was kinda rude but i think it was really the customer ahead of me that frustrated them i guess its mors like theyre very direct instead of accommodating which is wat you want when spending money, oh and the glock mags are essentially double price of another store i went to earlier that day.....but hey if u got it spend it....

DONT SHOP HERE! they dont want your business, went in Thursday knowing i might be spending a little more then other gun shops BUT 1000 FOR BASIC GLOCKS HELL NO. With the customer service offered at Target Sports, it is truly a wonder that they are still in business. Their survival thus far can only be thanks to their location - On one of the busiest roads in the United States, in an affluent area. These guys give gun people a bad name. Rude, condescending staff who for some reason think that because they work there, they somehow magically have more knowledge than the consumer, and in turn dont need to treat the consumer with respect. Youve got to walk in with cash and be ready to buy whatever they want to put in your hand. Looking for a specific model they dont have on hand? Kick rocks. They may offer to order for you, but youre going to pay the shipping and all associated fees. Prices for in stock units are MSRP at best. Read the other reviews. The story is the same.They dont act like they want your business, so dont give it to them.I highly recommend going to Huron Valley Guns near Milford. It may be a hike, but their selection is outstanding (at least 5x what is offered at Target Sports), prices are fair, sales are frequent, they offer reasonably priced accessories, magazines, holsters, etc, and the shooting range is the most advanced Ive seen in Michigan. And best of all, the staff is happy to be there, and happy to help you make the right decision.

Decent range, people working were semi annoyed, told me I cant shoot my own ammo and theirs was overpriced, and could only sell me 2 boxes, I have aks to sell wouldnt go back

Ive been here many times due to how close I live, but Ive learned its worth taking a drive to go to ANY other range/gun store. Everything, and I do mean everything, is price gouged. Be it knives, guns, ammo, rental/range fees, expect to pay an upcharge. The manager/owner seems like he hates working there and constantly has a could care less attitude, and Ive had extremely poor experiences every time Ive been in there. The employees range from will talk your ear off to I dont want to be here and there is no happy medium. On one occasion I mentioned I was in the market for a .380 and ended up getting a 5 minute lecture on how .380 is a worthless cartridge and essentially patronizing me for even considering the idea. Just overall negative experiences and would strongly recommend not funding this location.

The owner of the store is beyond rude. Like seriously and to think he runs a gun store. I admit the guns goes for great prices but the attitude is too much. The owner acts like a 2 year old baby. He was even on hardcore pawn throwing a tantrum like a baby. I can only imagine what his wife goes through if he is even married. He needs to do better and grow up.

The owner will refuse service to you if you are a woman so be prepared for that.

A couple of years ago I walked into this store to inquire about ordering a gun from a manufacturer they are listed as a dealer. I spoke to the manager at the time and he could only answer my questions with, I dont know and just walked away. Fast forward to today when I called and the phone was answered with just hello. When I asked if they had a specific gun in stock I was told that he doesnt know the inventory and I would have to come look for myself. Ill spend my money elsewhere.

I went to target sports in R.O. today 10/9/20. The cheapest price was $599 for basic pistols. I realize theres a shortage but? Sales staff was courteous, knowledgeable. But the cashier WOULDNT give me a receipt for my purchases!! I asked but said No!! I paid with debit/ credit card so I dont know if thats a new policy or state mandate??

I go here frequently for gun range time and the guys are always pretty helpful and friendly. But I will say there guns do appear to be overpriced but everything is inflated right now

Awesome range! Ray is awesome and James who gives the CPL class is absolutely the best! He made whole 8 hr class go so fast and kept it interesting and engaging. We shot 100 rounds too during class and he taught in a way that was applicable to both newbies and experienced folks too. I will be back for the range for sure.

This store is probably one of the worst places in the state to engage in any kind of firearms training or purchasing. Please do NOT let them tell you that you need to take there CPL class every time you have to renew your license! I called about a week before my CPL was due for renewal and they told me I had to take a shorter much easier class to renew. Well $150 later and didnt learn anything new I go to the county clerk to get my CPL and they tell me I dont need the certificate. I only needed to refresh my skills on my own. Now we all know that they knew that in advance! So they chose to make $150 off me instead of years of spending loot in there. Not to mention all the recommendations.

The customer service portion of this place by some of the men turned out to be very poor and on at least 3 different occasions! They didn’t give receipts and claimed their machine during this time only processed pin transactions. They acted as if I were getting in the way of their having a great day. The line was extremely long and reception upon my turn very dry! The products are marked up 3x normal and It wasn’t even the correct quantity available for the price. I after spending literally hundreds maybe a 1k or 2k will never go back to this place. And unless you’re desperate, like it’s the last place on earth in the state, or county, I wouldn’t recommend you going because you’re going to be over charged, frustrated, and receive less of a product...time to be honest & quit showing loyalty to shops who don’t care about the customers...

I havent purchased a firearm here, but use the range all the time. They are well stocked with an awesome variety of rifles and pistol. These are the lean times, so prices are what they are, but they seem to be generally in line with other stores. I certainly recommend them.

Also they have a great selection of guns, holsters, etc. and really help with choosing and educating on the differences/ pros and cons of each firearm. Great shop overall highly recommend

Went for a private class on basic handgun safety and range etiquette. Everyone (Alex, George and Ray) was extremely helpful, welcoming and pleasant. I will definitely be returning. Highly recommended.

Just... terrible customer service. Shot here and had issues being given the wrong ammo, getting targets, called to ask if they carry 12gauge chokes and the response was I might have some up stairs but Im not going to check right now. Pretty sure its been the same guy every time but damn, Id have waited 10 or 15 minutes for ya to finish and check.

The customer service here is very poor. Theres a person standing at the front door and Im not sure what her purpose was. She didnt offer a greeting or ask what I was there to see. All she did was turn her nose up at me and looked away when I walked in the door. After about 10 minutes walking around, I finally got someone behind the counter to ask what I needed. I told him that I was looking for a snub nose 38. He condescendingly asked if I wanted an ammo or a gun and then he laughed at me. I guess he didnt know that snub nose referred to the barrel length not the length of the round. Thats okay but not okay but still dont make the customer think that hes the idiot when youre the ignorant.

One member of the staff is very rude and not interested in answering your questions or helping you. I was told to google items they were selling instead of them even attempting to help me make a decision. Anytime you have questions about products you plan to spend a thousand dollars on, you would think they would want to assist you. Nope...appear to be more interested in shoving you off so they can continue talking to their friends. I have purchased a gun there before and will not go back for a single product. Go somewhere else where the staff is willing to help you and treats you as if they actually want you in the store. Target Sports is NOT the only game in town!

Customer service is terrible and employees come off pretentious. Instant attitude when asking questions especially the red head dude. Rudest guy there and needs to be fired. He purposely makes you uncomfortable and feel stupid. When asking about different guns he gets real hurt when its more than one question. Ammunition is more than double the price. There are a ton of other gun stores to support and not ones with people that cant handle people buying their first first gun.

Rude people and price gougers. Stay away. There are much better shops to spend your hard earned money at.

Great place

Just bought my third gun from here, was crazy busy just like all the other gun stores around. I see a bunch of negative reviews in the last 3 months obviously they havent been to other gun stores during the pandemic. Even the big box retailers have a ticket wait system with 2 hour wait times just to see a gun and wont answer questions until your ticket is called. If you do buy a gun you will be delayed by the background check regardless where you go right now. I frequently go to many stores and have bought from other stores but I like the no bs buying experience here

I’ve been to this range a few times. They are always very helpful and willing to assist. I had a weird jam in my AR that I couldn’t figure out how to fix and someone came back to the range, took it apart, fixed the issue and stuck around to make sure it was functioning properly. Gotta love that customer service!

Went in to inquire about purchasing a pistol. I was shocked at the crowd of people upbeat and welcoming some groups for the gun range others purchasing fully staffed got helped right away the guy answered every question fit me with the right firearm and i felt relaxed . i didnt purchase a weapon a little pricy but overall i would recommend.

These guys are the best. I hardly ever spend any money in their shop just using the range and all and they treat me with the same amount of respect that they treat their higher paying customers. The place is not run by snotty know it all dudes which is always nice. You dont have some hero trying to tell you how to handle a pistol for 25 of the 30 minutes you paid to use the range.

Easily one of the worst retail experiences I have ever had. Me along with a number of other folks behind me, were told that if we didnt know exactly what we wanted they did not have time to show us any firearms and we were lucky we were even getting a firearm. I asked a question to one guy behind counter who quickly yelled back at me that he was filling out an official federal document and to step back and he did not have time for any questions and continued to remind me of my great deal of luck I was able to get any gun. They treated everyone in store like this. I have my cwp and this is the fourth gun purchase. I would highly discourage anyone from going here. Ive spent a lot of time at Huron Valley Guns and would highly recommend them as a trusted store.

Just moved to the area and it turns out the shop is nearby. It has a large inventory, an indoor range, and a Silencer Shop kiosk. Silencer shop suggested I go to this location to complete my profile with them (input person info, take prints, and a photo).I was impressed by the shop when I walked in, but the man behind the counter became short when I told him what I wanted to do. He told me the kiosk could only be used for purchases or transfers. I tried to explain to him that I just needed to put some info into the system, but he kept insisting that is a transfer. Im not going to do that. Its not worth it for me.He either misunderstood what I needed to do or didnt know it was possible. Either way, he was not interested in discussing it or trying to clear things up so when he said If youre not going to buy anything, you can leave I decided to leave, which was unfortunate because I was also interested in range rates and a revolver he had behind the counter.

Just went a few nights ago. Even though there were multiple customers, there was enough staff to help everyone (even with the forms needed to purchase.)I went with a clear idea in mind of what I wanted to purchase (and did).Yes, the prices were a little higher than some other stores. Admittedly.However:-There customers there were of many backgrounds and races, and everyone was treated respectfully.-There was a Berkley cop, who was also treated respectfully but not at the expense of the non-cop customers.-When I asked for specific things that only gun people know about, I didnt have to recheck as the sales staff obviously knew what I was talking about-They have a great selection of higher echelon firearms, and very little (trade-ins, most likely) of low end brands-When I asked for specific types of Ammo for home defense, not only did they know what I was talking about, they had it in stock.Good sale, nice shop.

I made purchases in past but not againCounter staff always obnoxious, unprofessional. Take your hard earned dollars elsewhere. This place needs owner to wake up and hire new counter staff or sell business.

Im unable to comment on the store aspect of Target Sorts because I did not buy anything other than range time there, however the range itself was quite short, very dark, and not well ventilated. The non-member price was similar to other ranges in the area, however due to the lesser quality of the range, I feel the price was a bit too much. They also did not allow steel cased 9mm, which is an issue I have not run into in the past at other ranges. With that being said, the staff was very friendly and helpful. If I could rate the staff separately, they would receive 5 stars. Unfortunately, the range itself deserves 2.

TL DR; I have had nothing but positive experiences at Target Sports. Their staff and the owner are always friendly when I come in and make sure that I have been helped. I will be frequenting this place for the foreseeable future.I found this place when looking for CPL classes in my area. The mixed reviews made me hesitate, but it was so close to my house that I could not resist giving them a try; I am glad that I went in! Jim, the CPL instructor was awesome. He taught us everything we needed to know about carrying in Michigan. He was also extremely friendly and very patient towards people who had little experience with handguns. He also gave me some tips on what kind of safe to buy for my truck.Before I took the class, I decided to purchase a new firearm. Target Sports had what I wanted for $20 cheaper than Bass Pro and $40 cheaper than Double Action. Also, they let me rent one before buying! I didnt even have to bring someone with me to rent so long as I brought my own firearm in with me! They also threw in a month of free range time with my purchase. I have already spent about 4 hours on their range in the last week. The RSO is friendly and does not bother those who are following the rules. The range rules are clearly posted on the door to both ranges. My only gripe is that the lights in most of the booths do not work, leading to a dimly lit booth.

Stopped in to check it out and staff was extremely helpful. Solid recommendations for a new carry gun I’m looking into. Will be back to check out the range. Was advised it was a 20 yard range which is just fine for pistol shooting.

Ive been buying guns from Ray and his staff for years, and value their expertise, suggestions, and ideas on my shooting and collecting interests. I never felt pressured to buy something, had ample time to ask questions and explore thoughts on related concerns, and always felt welcomed and appreciated for my business. Ive tried to encourage others to buy here as its possible to find what youre looking for without having to go all over town. The range is clean, well attended to, and comfortable to shoot in. Ive visited other gun shops, and had the feeling they were trying to promote select brands over others before they even heard my interests. Ive had limited repair experiences because the products Ive purchased are reliable and extremely well made. Target Sports remains my first choice!

It was my friends’ and I first time ever going to a shooting range and also shooting in general. We had an amazing first time here and will definitely come back! The staff was great including Roy and Paul. Paul was such a great help and made us feel so comfortable for our first time! We appreciate how patient he was with us through the whole experience. Him and Roy were funny as well and the environment was overall great and nice to be in. Great guns especially the handguns, they have a great variety to choose from. And we will definitely be using the machine guns next time too. Prices are also very reasonable. 100% overall recommendation!

Had a good experience in this shooting range. Only thing was about other customers not behaving properly in the gun range. We hope that customers are more trained properly on how to handle guns. Well its the upbringing of each individual and not the fault of the venue. We just hope to have more disciplined gun owners in the area.

I really appreciate it when the store owners know my name when I walk in the door to me that means a lot it shows they care. Ray is always taking care of me when it comes to buying a firearm or needing some questions answered, also there range is the most reasonably priced and they have a wide variety of firearms to rent and to buy, If youre looking for a more tactical style of handgun or rifle than this is a great store to shop at.

After two not-so-pleasant experiences shopping for pistols in the past at this location, I reluctantly took a co-worker to use the range on our lunch break yesterday. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. This was my first time using their range, which was clean and well-ventilated compared to where I normally shoot. Everyone was friendly and helpful before and after, as we checked out their selection of pistols. They must have turned over a bunch of employees and/or managers because it was like a completely different place from what I experienced prior. I will definitely come back for more range time.

Great range!

Reading through other reviews, lots of people share the same sentiment. Staff is condescending and dismissive. Range is old and dingey. Prices are high. I was turned away from the range today because I wasnt there an hour before they closed. I only wanted to shoot for a half hour, which would have ended my session at 15 mins before closing. The guy said they need time to clean up, and looked at me as if I was dumb for thinking they would stay after their advertised hours to do so.

Fantastic experience. Helpful, informative and down to earth guys. They helped me get firearms since Im a green card holder where as Double Action in Madison Heights was gonna rip me off for 400 bucks. Target sports here and Orchard lake will always get my business.

It doesnt surprise me that much of Metro Detroit reviewers on here think exactly of him what I thought of him when I saw him on the show. Ill certainly take my business elsewhere if I ever practice or target shoot in Detroit.On a related side note... Les could have gotten those $80 holsters for $20 online. Lol

Took my Mom for her first time shooting. They explained everything really well and made her comfortable shooting a gun. The prices are great and the staff is awesome.They also had a Wesley Snipes movie playing in the store and a tarantula on display. Can a store get any cooler?

I came in from Ohio and was happy to find a local range in the neighborhood...Big Mistake!!!Small dark range VERY POOR ventilation, and not enough staff to go around I had to wait God only knows how long before I was helped and then the fellow was RUDE. The prices on everything are just ridiculous...The bad reviews are correct save your money and find a better range this place is not worth $13 for a half hour. Would give 0 stars if possible.FYI..Top Gun is a drive but well worth the trip.

From the start when I walked in, I was racially profiled. Extremely poor interaction with some customers verses others. Store is outdated and Salesman Ray was really rude . I DO NOT RECOMMEND this store AT ALL, the parking was horrible. Guns are way to OVERPRICED!!!

Got my first CPL and gun from these guys and they were nothing but very friendly and informative. They treated me with nothing but respect. I didnt know too much about guns and they didnt treat me like a fool. They also gave me good pointers while in the range. VERY helpful, VERY friendly

They recently remodeled and its much nicer inside now. They have a much bigger and nicer selection of pocket knives now. Spyderco, Zero Tolerance and Benchmade. Some prices are good and others are a little high. Great selection of guns.

I dont need my spent brass and I go during the discount range time so I dont mind buying their targets. Ray told me I could bring my own if they were like the ones that they sell.I also make it a point to be friendly and have had the same courtesy to me. The first time that I went a year or so ago there was an employee that was somewhat of a jerk but every other time I have found everyone there to be helpful and courteous.There are cheaper places to go (especially to rent a firearm) but Target has a major advantage that keeps me coming back week after week.Rapid fire? NO PROBLEM!!!

Been in this shop 12 times the owner is rude if they only have one magazine for your gun they have to ask if they can sell it was one time I went to buy cleaning solution only place that has what I use there was a guy that wanted 7.62×39 he bought 4 boxes 80 rounds total was charged 81.00 plus tax felt sorry for him could have went to dunhams across the street and gotten a better deal . Gun prices are around 100.00 dollars more then any where else. And dont think about renting any full auto guns way to over priced

No one at this establishment wears a mask. Clearly they don’t care about health safety or the requirement that masks be worn. I’d go elsewhere. Also, they don’t have ammo.

This shop has the best ammunition selection of any shop Ive been too. Great customer service. Just bought my wife an EDC pistol and needed ammunition and a holster. The gentleman that helped me, greeted me as soon as I walked into the store. He knew where everything was and wasted no time finding a great holster and allowing me to take it out of the box to test it on their rental pistol. Overall, they have the best selection of firrarms, tactical gear, ammunition and holsters. You wont be disappointed folks.

The staff was polite enough, but my god are the prices outrageous, anyone saying otherwise is a shill. Having to pay $20 for a box of .308 is disgusting to say the least, and not being able to bring your own ammo is downright exploitative. The high prices and the sleazy, dingy atmosphere has most definitely assured that I wont be returning.

Hey what going on with the range, I when shooting and will not let me pick up my brass, he say the brass hit floor its target sport now, I reload my ammo and pay for my brass. Understanding Michigan Law any use parts is youre, like replace parts on your car, you have the rights to have the old parts back. Watch out, and last time

This place suck! If you are foreign resident.They dont sell you guns because there is too much paper work! This POS is full smell of money. No hobby! No Fun! Not gun guys place!
