I purchased a module that was defective and needed a warranty repair. I tried contacting Detroit Modular through their website, email and phone over the span of thee weeks with no response. As much as I wanted to give Detroit Modular five stars my experience does not warrant it.

It is unusual to get good customer service these days. It is rare to get great service and this place has it! Nels has been super helpful with me. Not only was he nice to me when I called in with a question about my order, he actually took time to talk with me about modules, cases, etc. I will only buy new synth supplies from Detroit Modular!

This is my go to shop for synthesizers. Ive never been in their store but have ordered off of their website many times. Every order has shipped out same-day or next-day depending on the time I placed the order. Im in Central Iowa and the longest I have waited for an order to arrive was 3 days.Only one order, in the half dozen or so I have placed, had a mistake (a synth came in two colors, they sent the wrong color.) After sending an e-mail I received a phone call from DM a few hours later offering to replace the synth with the correct color with free shipping both ways. It wasnt a light synth either, about 30 lbs shipping weight, not cheap shipping rates. They even told me I could use the synth for a while at no additional cost. I didnt send it back because the synth internals were the exact same and Im not too picky on looks.Top notch customer service.Cannot recommend Detroit Modular enough! They are the first site I check when shopping for Eurorack modules, cases, cables etc.I even plan to visit Detroit just so I can see their shop in-person.

I took a 4 hour drive from Xenia, Ohio last year the day after birthday to treat myself which happened to be on a saturday, when they close at 3. I showed up at 2:00ish for a demo and hoping to take some modules home to start building my eurorack. Without realizing how long it takes to decide which modules to purchase to get started and within a budget, i was there for a while. Till 5:00pm. 2 hours after close. I felt horrible. Trent was the guy willing to stay that long and help and was super chill, patient, and helpful. I’ve kept ordering online from them afterwards ever since. I’m writing this review now because i realized i didn’t after my visit last year and i should’ve, and to say that the store is ran by a really passionate team that really cares about their customers, and to thank Trent.
