Always a great and helpful experience when shopping at this business. The employees really know their stuff. I also like that they will sell you shorter lengths of certain materials instead of having to buy a full length. Prices are good enough to nix a trip to Alamogordo to Lowe’s or Depot.

Not the biggest I have ever been to, but their stock is awesome anyway. Friendly, family run, with great, helpful staff. Prices are much better than Ace Hardware in Ruidoso. Always go to True Value first and avoid the other place when possible. Thumbs up to Glen, Nikki, Ava, Mike and Jeff! They are ll so knowledgeable and make you feel like family.

I cannot say enough about this wonderful hardware store. Anytime my hubby needs something in the middle of a project he will send me. All I have to do is ask, hand over the list and they take me right to the item. They will even tell me the most economical items I need verses overselling the items not needed. Awesome!!!It’s so refreshing to see a small family owned business that still knows how to treat people kindly and be helpful too.If you want great customer service, fair pricing and honest help this is your place!

This hardware store was the worst Ive ever been it. The parking lot is a nightmare! Make sure your car insurance is up to date if going to this place. The last time I went into this place I was treated do disrespectfully just because I didnt know the name of the of the piece I was looking for. The man that so called helped me talked down to me and treated me so disrespectfully. I was livid by the time I walked out of that place. I will never be back!

With other customers still in the store and all I needed was a can of spray paint. I find it to be poor customer service for an empoempl to pop his head out the door to say were closed with one minute left before close time is terrible customer service. I get it we came right at close but if you cared about your customers and still had customers the two minutes it would havent taken for me to grab one can of spray paint shows the lack of care your store has for their customers. I will stick with Ace Hardware for now on.

Ive been going here for years for hardware, tools, and whatever, and find the staff there to be friendly, helpful, and always have an answer for project related questions, if they dont know, at least theyre honest enough to tell you so. Two hardware stores in town, True Value and Ace Hardware. Its like a competition as to which has the best customer service, and both are excellent shops. The only reason I gave them 4 stars, and for me its an important issue, is they wont deliver. I dont understand why, when Ruidoso is literally like 5 minutes from one end of town to the other (well, maybe a little more, depends if you traveling at 2pm on 4th of July or 2am the middle of March, when theres no one here but us locals.) Ace Hardware has received over 80% of my business, as theyll deliver anything, anytime, and for $0.00 delivery fee. And, True Value is less than a mile from my home, a one minute drive. Ace is about 3 miles, obviously longer drive, but theyll bring what I need without question. Im retired, work remodeling my home, refinishing cabinets and furniture, and other wood work about 7 days a week to keep myself occupied, and I am constantly needing something from the hardware store. Im retired, dont drive, so who do you think Im gonna call when I need something? I truly wish they delivered. I like the folks there, the prices are good, and its crazy that they are so close to me, and I need to call Ace, whos further away But if I need something, and a ride isnt handy, Im calling Ace. The manager at Ace, Harry, is a great guy, and extremely easy to work with concerning getting to me what I need. I dont mind waiting till they have a larger deliver order thats coming my way, and they dont mind dropping my order off on the way. Price wise, I find Ace to be generally about 10 to 20% higher than True Value, but think they dont control pricing, even though privately owned (thats an UNeducated guess!!), but unless its a very expensive item I need, Ill pay the higher price, and get it delivered. Its all relative with deliver cost included. I enjoy both stores, could not say a negative word about either, and happy here in tiny Ruidoso, we have two great hardware stores to choose from.

Owner not convincing, I asked for a weed eater, he told we will have a sale next weekend, on Echo brand.I asked if I he let me pay for it and you can hold it in the store, I’ll pick it up next week, he told me and can’t do that, company might find out, we will a problem with them, he also stated we have plenty, today was the Memorial Day Sale day, I went to buy the gas trimmer and incredibly it was sold out.I could’ve bought it in El Paso, and avoid this but I like to contribute to Ruidoso’s economy, I spent thousands of dollars a year in this village but I wont spent a penny in this store again.

This is a clean family owned store, with knowledgeable, helpful staff. Easy access and masks required.
