If I could give this store negative stars I would definitely do so let me start with it was my first time shopping there… first of all i had gone there for a certain item showed this person the item on my phone the guy told me he would go get it ok I waited when it was upfront I went and paid for it but never imagined they would rip me off I recognize it was also my fault also for not checking the item before leaving the store he did charge the correct item but now that I’m home husband says this isn’t the one they where supposed to give you you paid for 20gal shop cap they gave you 12gal shop vac and to add to it the item has been opened items inside are out of their packaging and while checking receipt they also charged me for something worth $33.99 I did not purchase I guess they need the money they can keep it not going back there and have me argue with people that are that sneaky and I am just going to lose my time and get upset if you are reading this hope you spend the extra money $74 to be exact wisely never again will I step foot in that store

Ge Ace Hardware is a well stocked hardware store in a convenient location in Rutherford. Has a parking lot and the stock is filled to the ceiling. The prices are lower than Home Depot, Lowe’s or Amazon. Seems to be a family owned business. I would recommend the Ace Hardware of Rutherford for your hardware and etc. needs.

I would love to help the store and purchase all my stuff from them however every time I called to ask advice or what they think no one ever knows the answers to my questions and worse than that they always act like you’re too busy to give you the time a day. It is really unfortunate I wish they were more knowledgeable and aware of their customer’s needs because I would be a customer for life!

This is more than a neighborhood hardware store. Its a neighborhood staple. Ive been going to Brothers for years. Although its in Bergen County NJ and I live in NYC, I still shop here. They carry EVERYTHING!!!! Also better service than any big box store around.

Unique, no bones little hardware store, with tons of stuff packed in a small space, in center of town, decent prices, you need it..... they got it.

Very Helpful, Kind and Knowledgeable. We had a problem blowing thermal fuses in our Dryer and without looking at our set up, they knew exactly what was wrong. I went home, checked into it and they were 100% right. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

Parking is limited but great stock of items and the actual owner works the frontline interacting with customers.

There aren’t enough of these old school family run businesses left so get in there and support these people with your business. I got there before they opened and was anxious to buy a snowblower - which they had plenty of. They have the product and the knowledge. Try finding that at the big box stores! While the son was asking me to be patient while he set up the store for the day his father kept saying “come on in”. I wish I lived closer because I would go there every week.

Wish I could say terrible customer service but I didnt experience any. Stood there after walking in among other customers who were already being helped without any acknowledgement from what I assume was the staff. A friend told me to give this place a second chance after having a bad first experience, there will not be a third time.

I will never return to this store again. The old woman cashier was totally rude. Didnt understand that the customer comes first.then she decided to make situation worse.with her snide disparaging comments...never again

Super impatient staff. If youre not making a big purchase there, the staff is super impatient to you. They only care about your wallet and are very unhelpful and rude. I guess Ill only be shopping here when I spend over $2k.Oh yea, I gave them a second chance at business when I called in about making a purchase with a price match. The guy on phone had the same mindset: no price match, let me get him off the phone asap, click.

The owner there is a completely rude person-ish being. I was shopping in the store and had to leave for a moment, I come back to make my purchases and he is chasing me out because I didnt buy anything before. I hadnt gone in that store before and I wanted to help a small business but he not only lost a $100 sale, but also a customer. I hope this store doesnt make it can shuts down. He has hearing aids but is completely tone deaf to how to treat a customer. Go to Lowes down the block, they have more stuff and less rude people.

Dont come here If you are looking for good customer service. The staff is very rude, especially the old guy who works there. He doesnt know how to talk to customer. They refused to take the return not due to the covid 19 but due to the fact that they couldnt find item in their system even though all the items were purchased on the same day at this location. Take your business elsewhere unless you like to deal with these knuckleheads.

Just the nicest people. Get greeted at the door, tell them what you need and they take you to their selection. Get what you need in a jiffy! Dont know what you need? Tell them what you are trying to do and they will recommend what you need. A bag of dirt too heavy? They cut a bag in half, rebagged it and put the two halves in my car! Sure made a difference when i got home and could take the bags out myself and start potting!

I went to this store for the first time and they treated me like I was their best customer. I showed up after the store was closed, but there was still lights on so I stopped. The gentleman let me in, found the product I needed and then made a special note on the receipt to ensure that I could return it after Christmas since it was a gift. I would definitely recommend this store over the large warehouse stores.. great customer service and price.

Im always confused about Ace Hardware stores. Are they local? Are they a big company? Either way, I like this one. Theyre nice people and it at least has that feel of a small, local spot.I will say, I feel like people there have specialties and they dont always know about the things they carry. I went in asking about pest control (ants...Im a moron and dont know how to get rid of ants) and when I asked for advice they had no clue. Another customer pointed me to things and they worked great. Other than that though, theyve been very helpful.

This place is a staple in the community. They have just about every hardware you can think of, and if they dont have it they can get it for you. The staff is very friendly and quick to help you out. Prices are fair and competitive. They carry a large selection of Stihl products, a large line of yeti products and big green egg grill & accessories. Parking lot for your convenience.

When all the other hardware stores failed me, Brothers Ace came through.

I happened upon this Ace store as I needed to buy Benjamin Moore paint and they were the closest store open on a Sunday. WOW! Anthony was awesome. He helped me figure out how much paint I needed, gave me spec sheets on how to use the paint with the sprayer, recommended which level of paint I should use based on the project, etc, etc. Overall, Anthony treated me with respect and kindness, something you do not often get as a women when walking into a hardware store. I will be back.

One of a few good old hardware stores left that have that old atmosphere! I dont visit often but they usually have what I need instead of going to you know! And friendly too! So for a few cents less or more I will go there first and its further than the other chain places 4.5 stars to me!

Love this place. I religiously get my pool supplies here during the summer. The owners are always extremely knowledgeable and have the answers to any question i might have.I swear they have every hard to find piece that exists.You just dont get service like this in the super stores.

This is a wonderful hardware store to go to when you need to take care of things that need repair, or painting or working in the yard. They are very helpful and can answer almost all questions. They have what you need or can get it for you. They are open 7 days a week which helps out a lot. Go here first instead of the box stores, its worth it.

This is now an ACE Hardware, and is my favorite local hardware store!We visited to find an adhesive for a nylon plastic drone leg and not only did they have exactly what we needed but the staff even took the time to explain how to use the glue properly.Huge selection of great, hard to find items and great parking

Horrible horrible customer service. I like to support small businesses but this is one place I will never patronize again. I had the displeasure of speaking with Anthony when he called regarding an item we purchased (on Saturday) for in store pick up. So Monday morning Anthony calls with an annoyed tone and states if my husband doesnt come pick up the item by close of business today he is canceling our order. I inform him that my husband has a full time job and his own business so would it be possible for me to pick the item up as Im only 10 minutes away. He gruffly says NO! As I try to explain that because the website wouldnt populate the sale price of the item, we had to place the order via customer service and were not aware that we wouldnt be able to add an additional pick up person via the pick up email, he rudely begins to talk all over me, telling me that his wife puts him down as an alternate person when she orders from Walmart or target yada yards yada. I say Yes, but those places also give you the option of adding an alternate pick up person when you receive the confirmation email. I even offer to have my license and have my husband text me his license and the credit card used to purchase the item. Once again he rudely barks NO and proceeds to say at this point, he either picks it up by close of business or Im canceling the order mind you, our email confirmation states we have five (5) days to pick up the item before it is cancelled. The day he called was day 3! When my husband called to tell Anthony when hed pick it up, he was met with the same nastiness as I was so he decided to let Anthony cancel his order because hed rather spend his money elsewhere. Ill be writing a letter to Ace Hardware corporate because they should be made aware of how this small store is ruining their brand by their ugly attitudes and non existent customer service. Because this place has turned me off from other Ace Hadware stores.

This is a complaint in reference to my recent visit to Ace Hardware on 10 orient way, Rutherford NJ about horrible customer service. I normally do not shop here but Employee Sam was very helpful with his guidance with thermocouple. However another employee Jessicas interaction with me was horrible. I was about to purchased the thermocouple with Sam and we were discussing about return policy and he said it would be ok to return as long as the pkg was not opened. And at that point Jesssica intervened rudely saying well if you plan to return you should not buy... may be I should shop elsewhere. I decided I did not want to go through this grief if I were to become a customer here. This was terrible way to speak to potential customer and no one wonder there were no other shoppers in the store. My feedback as a customer, Someone in charge should train this employee properly on customer service.
