These guys are the best hand down. Only sell you whats right for you. Have been shopping with them for years. Had some boot issues and instead of selling me new ones they figured out the right fix - got the manufacturer to help and truly took care of me. Top notch place.
I wish I had the same experience the other reviewers had with the owners of this store. My boyfriend and I spent around $300 on ski clothes there. One of the items I bought was a pair of Patagonia long underwear. After two washings, a hole developed along a seam--a manufacturing defect caused not enough fabric to be pulled and caught by the seam.I brought the long underwear back and showed them the hole. I asked for either a refund or an exchange (because I still needed long underwear). The woman--who had helped me with my original purchase--and the man there were both very rude. They acted like I was crazy for trying to return long underwear for a dinky hole and that I could easily sew it up myself. (They both did acknowledge the manufacturing defect that caused the hole.) Obviously, if I had known that the long underwear would develop a hole and require sewing, I would not have purchased them in the first place. My mom sewed up the hole for me, although now the fabric doesnt lie flat there, it bunches a little.I had never heard of clothing seller who doesnt at least offer an exchange for a piece of clothing that has a manufacturing defect. On top of that, they were very rude to me. I should have anticipated this given the woman tried to sell me long underwear that was baggy and a size too big until I tried on the smaller size and then she said those fit (revealing that she had been lying about the bigger size being fine and encouraging me to buy it).All in all: these people are rude, dont value their customers, and Im never shopping there again.
Peter and Joanne spent over an hour educating and enabling my husband and I to purchase just the right set of cross country back country skis and boots. We are new to this pursuit and appreciate the experienced guidance. For instance, we described our skill level, the places we intend to use our skis and the other activities we already pursue. That info, combined with our heights and weights enabled this knowledgable and personable team to guide our investment. Knowing that wed driven from out of state (having read reviews about their shop) and that we had a timeframe to meet, Peter put extra effort into setting the bindings and helping us get on our way. Consider calling ahead of time if youre going to need the kind of one-on-one we benefited from. Honestly, cant imagine more helpful and attentive assistance.
Peter and Joann are great people to do business with. Fred bought a pair of gore-tex ski pants from them. Their prices are very reasonable and they carry a super selection. Thank You both so much. Will come back
Excellent store for outdoor sports equipment; canoe, kayak, SUP, skiing, snowshoes, camping. The owner is there. He will help you fit a canoe rack to your vehicle or whatever you want.
Great store, simply great. Pete, the proprietor is very knowledgeable, straightforward, and helpful. The products are all top-of-the-line and very competitively priced.
This is a first-rate shop for outdoor gear with one specialty in XC and alpine touring (AT) skis. The couple that run the store really know and use their products and take the time to assist customers. I bought a complete AT set-up here and am very satisfied.
Experience & expertise. Locally Owned shops like this are a treasure! They always have the gear I need.
One of the best outfitters along Appalachian Trail. They spent almost an hour with me making sure I got everything I needed.
This is one of the best skis shops in the area. They specialize in Telemark and Backcountry equipment. The family that owns it is die-hard skiiers and will be able to answer every question you have.
Pete is so knowledgeable and willing to share his insights about all his gear and even stuff he doesnt carry. Also willing to take the extra time.
Beware of dog! The owner’s daughter’s German Shepard was in the shop and bit my fiancé on the thigh. The offered explanation was that we surprised the dog by walking in the door and that maybe the dog bit my fiancé because he is a man. It was not a bad bite, but did draw blood and not a pleasant experience being rushed and circled by a big, barking dog. I’m relieved we were not with a child. Both the owner and his daughter apologized and offered help in the form of gauze, tape and a cold water bottle. I doubt the dog wil ever be back in the store, and we definitely will not.
Peater Kay is great has everything the big shops carry at a better price, and if u like the water over the deep woods, ull luv the paddle boards and kayaks
Great telemarketing and backcountry ski shop. Solid advice.
Fantastic gentleman that wants to help you out anyway possible!
These guys are the best. With a mix of first hand experience and friendly service, its easily the best store in the Killington/Rutland area.
I like the products. sales person is very good.
One-stop-shop for tele. And more
Had to find boot spikes. Typically very hard to find without ordering on the internet.
After browsing through the store for about 3-5 minutes (I am assuming it was the owner) said are you looking for anything in particular because if not we gotta go we are closing. Very rude man, good selection of gear though
Nice place
Good selection
Great shop!
