I got my FSC and made my first purchase at Calaboose 11 and i couldnt have been more pleased. Mr. Rich is a wonderful, very knowledgeable man whom from what I witnessed treated every costumer not just myself with dignity, respect and exceptional customer service. Mr. Rich ensured that i knew how to care for and handle my weapon like a professional. Calaboose is not just a great place to purchase your weapon but its an experience that youll never forget.

Had to make some special arrangements for the completion of my firearm transfer and these guys were extremely accomodating. Richard was always supportive, very knowledgeable and great to work with. The firearm transfer was completed and I cant say enough about these guys.....great to work with and very customer service oriented. Look forward to working with them again on my next purchase.

Never spending my money at this place. I called yesterday to check stock and the guy who answered the phone was so rude. little does he know I shoot almost every week have multiple guns and would have spent a lot of money. O well be warned not the friendliest place to go or even call to ask simple questions go elsewhere .

It was great dealing with Richard, the owner of Calaboose II. I bought a beautiful AM-15 at his shop at a very reasonable price and have been buying 556 ammo from him at about half the cost of other local gun stores. Hes professional, knowledgeable, and passionate about firearms, and one I will turn to without hesitation when Im ready to buy another rifle or pistol.

First time ive ever called a gun store, inquiring if they participated in GSC testing, he Answered yes, and took the time to add some helpful information that saved me a lot of time!

Richard was awesome in having a gun in stock that has been hard to get elsewhere. Calaboose II is knowledgeable in helping their customers get what they need and feeling like they are on their side.

Most places dont have any ammo with all the crazy covid people buying everything up. Calabrese II had the ammo I was looking for. While I was there I also bought a Bullpup tactical 12 gauge shot gun. It was priced fairly and the employee (Kevin?) Was very friendly and helpful. Definitely going back there again.

I originally came in for 1 handgun, but saw a rifle at a great price and ended up getting it.I would definitely put this shop on top of your list for all and any need for guns and gun accessories.

Called to ask about an FFL transfer, guy was very hostile to my basic questions.I told him I wanted to transfer a pistol and he tried to lecture me about the roster, explaining that people have made mistakes in the past sending him guns that werent legal. Then I asked him about connecting him to the source shop to exchange FFL info and he said he doesnt do that because hes gotten in the middle of transactions before and has been blamed about something not arriving. When he implied that he was going to mail it and I asked for clarification he snapped that it doesnt matter how it gets sent. Then he just hung up.Guy is clearly damaged from past experiences and takes it out on new customers, which is apparently a pattern in the other reviews here. Unless youre a friend of his or like dealing with grumps Id recommend going somewhere else.

Had a wonderful experience today taking the safety certification test as well as purchasing a new handgun. The transaction was very friendly and professional and Calaboose definitely earned a repeat customer. If you’re looking for a great place with a friendly environment this is definitely a go to.

Grumpy owner. Picked up ammo I purchased online and used his FFL to recieved it. He was mad because a lot of people are ordering ammo online and using his store but not picking it up. (Remove your store from the list) Took his frustration out on me. Im the one who was picking up my order. Told me not to send anymore to his store. Asked if he does gunsmithing shook his head. His website said they do. Purchased a box of 380 acp from him cuz I feel sorry for him. No inventory, NO customer lining up to go in. Initially I was trying to pick a local gunstore to support during and after these pandemic. Been to multiple local gunstore in greater Sacramento area and bay area. Debated if the way he treated me was just being frustrated or I am not the type of customer he prefers. Slept on it for 2 days because I dont write reviews. Decided to do it. Wont be coming back!!!

Called to see about getting a online gun purchase sent to the store (I would buy it locally but I can only find 1 store that has the gun, most gun store have no guns right now) and the guy has flat $95 transfer fee. The next highest I have seen anywhere is $60 and most places are $25-$50, $95 is ridiculous.

Definitely five star plus. Very polite and honest, even threw in a few extras to sweeten the deal, really made the transaction a pleasure. Will be doing business with them again soon. These folks really want your business and will treat you like a first rate customer.

Going to be buying my first Long Gun from this shop because of the wealth of knowledge, and the welcoming of those who work there. (Also the willingness to educate me on my many options) Ive been to a few gun shops in my life, and would highly recommend them to anyone! Its also nice to support a local business.

If you want to go somewhere, where you can feel comfortable to ask any question and get a straight answer this is the place, especially if your a first time buyer, we all been there before your nervous kindve of hesitant to ask questions cause you might feel that it is a dumb one, well Ive been to alot of gun stores and purchased firearms from many establishments, and Id have to say theres no pressure, good communication, and great customer service, and a professionalism that you want, when you go ask for Richard!!

This is my new favorite gun shop! My wife and I both purchased a couple of hand guns. During our visit we were helped by a very professional and educated clerk. The next day I returned to clear up a slight problem with my purchase, and I was geeeted by my name. THATS GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! The original salesmen and owner quickly corrected it for me. I highly recommend this store!

Discovered this store and recieved awesome info to make a purchase by Rich. He was really patient with all the questions I had about squirrel hunting and how to purchase a firearm online. At the end of my visit I purchased a ruger 10/22. This store will be my go to store for all future firearm purchases.P.s.River city guns needs to learn from Rich how to treat customers properly.

Not at all surprised this place is so highly rated. i almost bought a gun I didnt love because I liked the clerk so much.Came here for my fsc and to check out small ccw options.Place was easy to find with plenty of parking.The shop is nice. Not jam packed but not sparce at all.Good selection of handguns, very large selection of long guns/shot guns and tons of AR parts.The guy behind the counter was super nice and friendly. Excellent product knowledge and customer service skills. I had to wait a few minutes but his regular interactions made it completely bearable (other stores could take note of that tidbit).I have never shot a gun and probably had lots of stupid questions but the guy really had infections enthusiasm for the product and sharing his knowledge. I feel like I wasted quite a lot of his time for only $25 and never once felt the slightest bit of rush or condescension. I WAS THERE 10 MINS AFTER CLOSING!!! thats how patient he was.Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone of any shooting level.Could use the tiniest of makeovers if I had to say something negative (Im a store manager so I nit pick the hell out of every other store).Folding chairs should not be a fixture unless they have a for sale sign. Move the incense behind the counter. Tiny things like that.Maybe have friends of the employees take their phone conversations to the back? Lol. The first part of my visit was 5 people whispering around a security guard talking with his friend.Overall a fantastic experience.

I have visited more than a few gun stores in the Sacramento area. This one hands down has the best service. Its not a big store but Steve is welcoming answered all my questions and concerns without being condescending like at other stores. I recently used them as my ffl and all went well without a hitch. Im am now well informed on my long gun choices and variations. Being new to guns and in my case long guns can feel daunting but not here.
